Went to Four Mile Cleaners for a simple alteration to have two separate hems sewed at each end across a straight piece of fabric about a yard across. Having explained and showed a male attendent at the front what work I needed, he stated that the lady who does sewing only can do simple sewing. In his opinion, the task was very simple and agreed that it could be done. He asked that I show and explain what needed to be done to a lady he called from the back of the shop. As I tried to explain and show the simple task to the lady he identified as their seamstress, she became abrasive and unwilling to allow me to explain and show what I required. I even pinned the fabric to make it easier for her to understand what needed to be sewed. It was as if she did not want to listen to my instructions nor understand the simple job requirement. I asked her, "Why are you yelling and stop just for a moment to listen. I attempted to explain what was required. It was as if she did not want to do the work. As a customer, I should be able to explain clearly what is required to ensure there is no misunderstanding before work is done. If this business can not perform simple alterations, it should remove its advertisement indicating alterations are done. Extremely poor customer service. Nasty attitude and rude. Don't recommend this business for alteration services. read more

I live in the ghetto. And part of de-ghetto-ing the ghetto is for commoners to get out of their house and not be afraid of their surroundings and to support neighborhood businesses. After all, the better the micro-economy, the more money ppl have, and the less crime is committed...right? Needless to say when I told my sister I go to this dry cleaning service she yelled the crap out of me...hehee...but yeah, I listen to no one. The lady that runs this place is a cool little Korean lady named Young. She is a super sweetheart. My first time there she gave me a discount...also she is super careful. I had brought in a really delicate dress with sequins. She recommended a hand wash because the sequins might lose their color from the chemicals...Good call-out, yeah? Shoot, cuz the last time I wore that dress and cleaned it I didn't get that recommendation from the other cleaner. And then she showed me the care tag and dude...it's said handwash!!! Seriously I didn't even know cleaners did handwash till I came here. So of course when my favorite bling bling sweatshirt needed cleaning (it's sequinned, laced, and pearled...yes...it costed a bill), I had to bring it here for the handwash =) Prices are great too. In Palo Alto, I pay $13 to clean my suit. Here it's $9.50....stuff adds up you know. read more

Do not waste your money here! They will ruin your clothes and not take any responsibility. You have to check all of their work because they will most likely mess up or completely ruin your items. The old man is rude and never in a good mood. Customer service is poor! Don't go here! read more

Okay, I really need to find a boyfriend soon who LOVES doing (my) laundry! While I have my wish-list out, let's add to that: washing dishes, cleaning (my) mess, shopping (for me), cooking (for me), working hard (for me)...haha! j/k! Now, back to my review... Surprise, surprise...I suck at laundry. I'm just too busy, which ultimately leads to too tired to do it. Normally, if I start getting low on things to wear, I just go out and buy more clothes. Well, my closet...my place for that matter -- cannot fit another single article of clothing! With two storages full of clothes..enough is enough! I really need to do my laundry! =( Staring at 12 giant bags of clothes to launder, I began my research on places that do wash and fold. Four Mile Cleaners is all up in the ghetto, but it's cheaper than most...and when you've got that much laundry +dry cleaning to do, hell yeah!, cheap is important! LoL!! The wash-n-fold service is something like $1.25 per pound. Each bag of clothing I handed over came out to about $10 each. On the downside (minus one star), the nice old guy started going through all of my laundry right in front of me and pulling out things he said needs to be dry cleaned or pressed!! I'm thinking, "Shoot, when I do it myself, I just throw everything in the wash! If it shrinks, it shrinks. Whatever." Uh, but I figure, I'll give this old laundry pro a chance to make extra money off of me by dry cleaning almost every single pair of pants in there. Hard times, I guess? Ugh. My total? HUNDREDS of DOLLARS! hahaha! *weep-tear-sob* I should have just bought a whole new wardrobe and thrown out that stuff! lol! Honestly, the price wasn't bad...I just had a ton of stuff. Well, my stuff isn't ready for pickup until next week. This sh*t better look damn good! If it doesn't, you'll hear about it. I'm totally happy with the work - basic shirt service. The customer service left something to be desired. Not even a smile or a hello... p.s. I got way friendlier service at the cleaners acorss the street (Windmill Cleaners) when I went in by accident to pick the shirts up. (Obviously, I wasn't the one who dropped the shirts off.) The lady was so nice & sweet and pointed me in the right direction. I wil be going back to her before I go back to Four Miles. Good Customer Service Rules. read more

This is the absolute worst cleaners. I took a jacket in to get a simple stitch job on the the side due to a rip, and they failed to finish the job and have horrible customer service. Beware they have you pay before services are Rendered because of there lack of professionalism and bad craftsmanship. There are plenty of good dry cleaners in San Francisco but four mile cleaners isn't one of them. Beware of bad customer service! read more

Ok this review is coming from someone who has been a patron for over 10 years .... My husband and I went in to have his suit pants altered a bit , nothing major a 20$ job for a wedding we were attending . 1. I called over the phone I was not properly put into the system they couldn't find the pants to tell me if they were ready . 2 . We showed up and they tell us to pay before they "Find" the item. 3 . We paid . 4. After paying noticed the work on the pants were terrible .... imagine giving a toddler a needle and thread and telling them to alter the pants .... { it was bad bad.} they also put a crease in them that we didn't ask for . 5. I asked them how can we fix this and make this right ? 6. I was told this is what we wanted and they weren't going to fix anything . 7. I informed them very politely that I had been coming here for over 10 years supporting their business and she shook her shoulders up and down and said "We no fix goodbye". 8. Here I am ... Supporting your local mom and pops establishments are hard when you don't make your customers a priority a simple adjustment on the item would have been great and doable but I can't spend any money with people that treat me like sh.... sorry don't come here - this is not a pleasant experience. RUDE, SHADY AND THEY JUST DON'T CARE! I brought in a pair of new very expensive pants to Four Mile Cleaners to be dry cleaned. I picked them up and went to put them on the next morning. The pants shrank in both length and waist - and while I was putting them on a dryer sheet fell out. OMG! I brought them back and explained that there was a problem and that they had been washed. A man who identified himself as the owner - Mr. Moon, pointed to the tag and said the pants could be washed or dry cleaned. Yes - but, I asked for and paid for dry cleaning. I did not want to have them washed/laundered. Mr. Moon denied everything and said he doesn't know if the pants shrunk or not. Maybe I brought him a pair of pants that I had shrunk. I asked Mr. Moon how I made a claim and he said there's no claim and he walked away to the back of the store, no longer interested. The receipt I was given said the terms were on the back. But of course, when I turned the receipt over, there was nothing printed on the back. As I said - rude, SHADY and they just don't care. read more

F*CK THIS PLACE! Part 1: After finding only minimal reviews on dry cleaners in BV-HP I decided to go to Four Mile Cleaners. I was promptly helped by a gentleman who ran out of the back (literally). As other reviews said, not very personable but I was promptly helped. A lady ,(Young??), was fitting someone for an alteration in the side room. Having never been there I gave them all my info and he marked the stains on my boyfriends Class A shirt and on my dress pants. He asked me when I wanted them, I asked for next day but he was pushing Wed AM or even Thursday. I asked to have them Wed AM. I think it was less than $20 for 3 shirts and 1 pair of pants. Part 2 to follow when I pick up my clothes. So I picked up my clothes and they looked crisp enough...I wore one of the shirts to an interview and it was nicely pressed. My boyfriends uniform shirt looks nice too. So why the 1 star? I took out the other blouse today to go to another interview and it looked not so crisp, wavy even. I knew then they laundered it. I put it on and could barely button the shirt! Thankfully I brought the other shirt they dry cleaned properly. I went to the dry cleaners today and showed them the receipt and the blouse. And he said that it says not to dry clean on the tag. I don't care what the tag says, I've dry cleaned it before and that's what I asked and paid for. I told him I would try the shirt on and show him I was now busting out of the buttons on the shirt to which he declined. I asked and paid for one thing and got a shrunk wrinkled shirt in return. He said I had to take it up with the manufacturer for the wash instructions or take him to court! He kept waiving his finger in my face as he loudly and animatedly yelled at me like he was scolding me. He told me it was "too bad". I told him how rude he was, like he cared. It's just realy frustrating when you asked him to perform a service and he performs another. I own very few label items, this happens to be one from banana republic, it's a $50 blouse that is now wrinkly and too small. read more

They dry clean and press my vintage shirts better then anyone else in the city, super clean, super crisp..! And recently asked for a small repair on the sleeve of a vintage shirt and for $6 they matched the thread color and did a nice old school style fix... they ROCK! read more

This place is below satisfactory... well, at least their alteration services are. I recently came across this cleaners while staying in San Francisco. The owner, who is Korean, directed me to his seamstress; whom is a Cantonese speaking woman. She helped me measure my jeans and ultimately hemmed them. I paid her on Wednesday and she told me to come back on Friday. Now, I paid $30 for 3 pairs of jeans... which is not too shabby. Keep in mind that I gave her a pair of R&Rs, and two pairs of True Religions... up to a $500 total... When I got them back on Friday, she also included the parts of the jeans that she cut off, I thought this was nice. The overal quality of the jeans was about 6.5/10... and here's why: a) She did not hem them to the measurements I requested. b) They were uneven. c) She ironed them, which was nice, but they were ironed in a way that made my jeans look poor. This seamstress managed to ruin one of the pairs of True Religions I bought.. I'm going to have to go to another seamstress and attempt to fix my jeans. I do NOT recommend going here for alterations. The seamstress is not professional in her work, and will ultimately screw up your clothing. As far as actual dry cleaning, etc, I have yet to try it. read more

Please watch out for this place. I came here to pick up some dry cleaning for my boss. Between the lack of English skills and the issues he had when I brought out a business credit card and didn't have my ID, Chaos ensued. Not really, but he treated me like I was a thief. All I wanted to do was pay $200 to get my companies drape from the dry cleaner. Not so easy when "mr moon" just smiles and nodes. It looks like other people have had some success. But I did not. Never again will I go here. Clearly it was a mistake. read more
