Avoid them like the plague! They lose things left and right and then get mad when you inquire about the missing items! I had a pair of leather sole slippers and got only one back with deep ridges in the soles. I asked them about the other one and they were just "Oh well, s--t happens" in their attitude. I recently brought in a suit that was bathed wine and a late night, with a little work and correct process of taking out stains from really nice material, Mack's came through and return a suit that looked as good as new. We've been taking most of our laundry to Mack's for years. The stuff that the good folks at Mack's launders comes back clean and folded, saving me tons of time. I've always kept my work clothes separate and did them myself because I was particular about how they were washed--some hang dry or dry flat, others require dry low heat and other miscellaneous neurotic requirements. I recently had a baby, and was a bit overwhelmed with all of the laundry that I had to do. In addition to washing my clothes, I was also washing all of the baby stuff myself because I wanted to use the fancy, overpriced special baby soap that smells so yummilicious. Unfortunately, the overwhelming sensation got to be too much and I freaked out as only a new mother undergoing hormonal changes can do. My husband mentioned my neurotic tendencies regarding both my clothes and the baby's clothes to the folks at Mack's, and how I couldn't keep up with the laundry which was causing total freak outs. Mack's said provide all directions and special detergents and they'd take care of everything. Hands down the best tailor in town! I brought several pairs of boot leg jeans wanted them to make them skinny leg for me and the fit so well! Also brought in my boyfriends blazer which fit kinda big to get tailored as well. AMAZED! PREFECT! I used them just once to dry clean a winter coat and a vintage jacket. I should have known something wasn't right when I went to pick my items up and there seemed to be an issue retrieving my things. When I got my coat back home, it did not smell clean at all. Unfortunately, weeks too late I realized they had also completely ruined my vintage piece. I have cleaned this jacket multiple times at other places with no issue. I had to throw out the jacket after trying to take it to my new cleaners because there was no way to salvage it. read more

I think this placed used to be called "Jack's Valet Cleaners" and when "Mack" (probably not his name) bought it he just painted an "M" over the "J" on the sign. Seriously, you can still see the bottom of the J hanging below, they didn't even bother to paint all the way over it. Classy. Granted I brought them roughly one cubic ton of laundry for wash & fold, but one of my shirts came back dirtier than I normally get it. Taking in laundry and having it come back dirty is the exact opposite of the service you are seeking. If it were a gray shirt or some other color that could hide the spots I probably wouldn't even care but it was white. They were cool about re-cleaning it but I had to go ALL the way back down there (distance traveled=approx. 2/3 of one block). Still I feel oddly compelled to give them 3 stars because they are exceptionally friendly and the turnaround is faster than grease lightning, which might have been what got on my shirt now that I think about it. Your clothes will come back with a crispy fold and wrapped up in a nice little brown paper package. Reasonably priced. Warning: If your compulsive/Virgo tendencies cause you to get uneasy around huge messes, you might just want to stare at the floor when you come inside this place. It looks like a laundry-seeking missile exploded behind the counter. They are (or were at some point) certified by something called the "National Institute of Drycleaners", who I am guessing does not have an extensive on-site inspection program. read more

I've heard a little bit of honesty goes a long way...so truth be told, I go here because I love their mascot, Romeo. And...I am super picky about my dry cleaners because I don't have a million bucks, so when I do have something I have dry cleaned, it means that I really like it and plan to wear it for years to come. My stuff always comes back looking and feeling clean and pressed. It never smells of some crazy chemicals - which is much appreciated due to my chemical and perfume sensitivities. When I have special requests re: how much starch to use (medium for button-downs) I get exactly what I ask for. I make sure to point out the place where I dropped BBQ sauce or coffee to make sure they try to get the stain out. They will make note of your requests and follow them like instructions. They were really amazing about dry cleaning my vintage (decade-old) Burberry hats (inside and out) and scarves without making the pom poms shrink or look less puffy. If you have clothes that have holes in them but you didn't know, they are super nice about calling you first to make sure you want that item cleaned. I walked a large bag of laundry over to Macks from my hotel (the courtyard marriott) on a Friday morning. They had it done at 5pm that day.
