Revise Dan cleaners should Stop over charging senior citizens. They are not stupid. A neighbor was charged $40 to remove a spot from a cotton sweater. The spot was not removed without compensation. Beware of the quality of cleaning and ethical practices. I would not recommend this business. read more

I really wanted to write this review because I support small business, and she has a lot of complaints that I feel have since been rectified. I admit that I was skeptical about using this cleaners after reading reviews on how clothes weren't ready when promised, but I decided to try it anyway due to convenience. I was banking on the fact that the business saw the critique and has since made improvements since a lot of those reviews were older. I was not disappointed. I tried them for the first time, and dropped off 7 different types of garments for dry cleaning (dress, jumpsuit, jacket, blouse, pants, dress shirt, sweater). Each came back very clean; no complaints about the quality at all. She promised me the clothes would be ready the following Tuesday. Tuesday came, and I made sure to call them before I went to pick it up because I didn't want to waste my time going there if it wasn't ready, but she said it was ready to pick up! So, that's why I really wanted to write this review. Poor ratings can hurt a small business so much, especially during the pandemic, and everyone deserves a chance at redemption. I hope those who were disappointed before due to their clothes not being ready on the promised date will give her another try. Also, this place is still cash only. As my pad has no washer and dryer and I can't install one, I am dependent on Dan's for all my washing and occasional dry cleaning needs, so thank -insert favorite deity- they are great. The cheery, charming young miss that's there seemingly seven days a week (poor gal) is always smiling and cheerful and cute and laughing (I love her laugh - I should be more like her). Everything is always done promptly and cheaply. Today I retrieved a bunch of hot and cold water wash 'n fold (and dry), including a towel and three synthetic athletic garments that can't go in the dryer. It was only $8.50, and the synthetic garments were air-dried on hangers. Sweet. My vintage 1960s green Sta-Prest-esque jacket must love them because they made an unsightly ring around the collar vanish without a trace, and they sewed up the the bottom of one of the pockets so my hand would stop dropping through. Just remember to bring cash or a check as they don't take credit/ATM cards. read more

I usually go to Brite Look on Bryant, but I thought I'd try out Dan's because it's closer to my home and all of the construction on Cesar Chavez made it less convenient to park near Brite Look. Let me just say, I am running back to Brite Look. First of all, it takes a whole week for the clothes to come back. On top of that, when I came back a week later for my clothes, she told me that one of my shirts wasn't ready yet. How is it that other clothes are ready but one t-shirt is not? Strike one. I leave more clothes and come back a week later (today). When I came in, I found that the shirt was ready, but all the other clothes that I dropped off last week were NOT. How long does it take to dry clean a few shirts and pants. Strike two. I am not waiting around for strike three. I'm just hoping that my clothes come back next week. I won't be back after that. Brite Look is faster (2-3 work days max) and the lady who works there is very friendly. read more

I actually don't go to Dan's very often any more because it takes me a long time to have enough dry cleaning to warrant the errand, and we now have a washer/dryer. That being said, when we first moved to Bernal Heights we took our laundry to Dan's once or twice a week. The laundry service was good, not great, and other yelpers' comments that things aren't always done on time was true for me, too. In terms of cleaning, punctuality, etc., I'd go with three stars BUT, Dan is ridiculously adorable, remembers me every time, tells funny jokes, and is always in a good mood, even though (as far as I can tell), she's there every blessed hour of every blessed day. = Extra Star. read more

Thought to try my local dry cleaners. Getting married at city hall and needed to get my white linen dress dry cleaned. It was worn once a year ago and I just wanted it fresh and wrinkle free. The lady at Dan's was nice but the store was very unorganized and piles of clothing every where. My dress can back looking a little grungy and there was a red wine stain on the back of it... What the heck??? Plus there was black fuzzies and hairs all over on the inside of my dress..... Needless to say I am not impressed or happy. Took my dress back over to my Glen Park dry cleaner and she explained that dry cleaning was not good for white. Make's it look dirty over time. She machine washed it cold, got the stain out and it looks brand new! read more

This used to be my "right next door" dry cleaners, it was literally 10 seconds walk from my house. This is probably the worst dry cleaners I've ever been to. As some previous reviews will tell you, nothing is ever on time. They would constantly tell me to come back 1 or 2 days later when I had a ticket for it to be ready that day. One two occasions I brought stained laundry (1 baseball jacket, 1 baseball jersey), and I had to insist they wash it 2 or 3 times and use stain remover, as the stains were not set in by heat. 1 week later they would be fine. These people are also famous for losing laundry. I was constantly standing in line with people furious because she said she was missing 1 or several articles of clothing. The ONLY reason this place gets 2 stars is because they are often working until 7-10PM, so even after they are closed you can sometimes snag your clothes by knocking on the door late at night. I would seriously recommend going anywhere else if at all possible. read more

Friendly and priced well. But they take a long time and clothes aren't ready when promised (more than a week for standard shirt laundry). Additionally, they still use tags stapled into the shirt, which need to be removed. Ever had a staple slip under your fingernail? Good enough, but too much trouble to be my weekly cleaner--which is a shame as I prefer to support a place in my neighborhood. read more

I think my review echoes some of the past reviews - I went back to them because they are close (if you live in Bernal you know the intense struggle of walking back up the hill after going anywhere). My single pair of pants took longer than the quoted time, which was a full week. Really? One pair of pants? 7 days? The lady was very friendly and the price seemed good (I haven't really price shopped though). In my experience they get good business because of their location, but could attract far more business if they wanted to just by better organization. read more

"Dan" is the sweetest, most personable person around. Not just for a dry cleaner, for any type of business. She remembers everything about myself and my husband. It's my understanding that her name isn't literally "Dan", her name means "Dan" in Chinese (I'm not sure which dialect she speaks, can't remember right now). Yes, it may take a bit longer than other "one hour" dry cleaners (although plenty of those have told me in the past they couldn't turn clothes in less than a day), but it's totally worth it to deal with such a pleasant, kind person. The cleaning itself comes back just fine (whites are white, which is a tell tale sign of a good cleaner), and the alterations have all been well, too. I take my very best items to a French Cleaner, but for the daily items of life, it's perfect. Plus, I always find parking nearby. Personally, I like that there's no plant on site, as it's a lot of chemicals for consumers to be exposed to (I've been to cleaners who sprayed the clothes literally right in front of your face). Yes, nothing is ever perfect in this world, but she works really hard there, and always has a positive attitude. Which is more than I can say for well....myself! read more

Dan is the happiest person day to day. Always a smile and willing to make accomidations. People saying things take long to come back because they didn't request to have it any sooner. I give Dan one extra star because Dan is a lady. I love that, and I luv Dan. She is as sweet as can be and so accommodating. Unfortunately, they seem to have more work than they can handle. Our clothes are often not ready when they should be and trying to get next day service is an exercise in futility. So often the exact thing I need is the one thing that they just didn't get to by the time my husband goes to fetch our stuff. (I love that my husband likes dry cleaning duty! He does that and I do laundry, Of course, we have a housekeeper to take care of the putting away chore. But I am responsible for cleaning and folding, and I'm damn good at it!) And their pressing skills leave a little to be desired. Oh, well. I'd stop going here but I think my hubby has a crush on Dan. So until I take over the dry cleaning task (i.e. a cold day in hell), I guess we'll keep going to Dan's read more

Sometimes it takes a little longer to get your clothes than other places, but as long as you take this into consideration and plan out your trips accordingly it's not so bad. I have to admit, I've been back to Dan's several times for dry cleaning and altering my clothes. They have found my clothes every time and did a wonderful hemming and fixing rips in my clothes. The prices here are reasonable and I'll be back. :) The only drawback is that they only accept cash and check. read more
