I love these guys! I moved to Seward Park a few years ago and they were the only vets close by. I was already very happy with my old vet but the commute was impossible so I decided to transition all my pets to Four Paws. So far I have had an amazing experience and could not be happier. I have brought in my cat, a puggle puppy and a senior german sheppherd. All experiences have been great and the puppy even gets excited when we go to the vet (crazy!) that's how nice they are. I would definitely recommend this vet to anyone and trust them with my loved ones. read more

I took my scaredy cat in for teeth cleaning recently. I was afraid she would get mad at me, she's a moody anxious one. She came home with an usually good mood, and recovered quickly from the anesthesia. It was like spa day for her, whatever they did to her was super good for her teeth and her mood. read more

We go to four Paws for both our Dog Barrett and Cat Dita. We have never had more compassionate care for both of our animals from all of the staff at four paws. They our comprehensive, thoughtful and always follow up with us to see how they are doing. We usually see Dr. Anderson, who is excellent. If only my own doctor was as good as her! We recently had to say goodbye to our beloved cat and Dr. perotti and her staff were so kind and gentle with us when we were a mess. This is the best vet we have ever been to! read more

My cat was throwing up and I needed to take her somewhere. I called an made an appointment, they got her in quickly which I was impressed by. She was abused when she was younger and is always mean when she goes to the vet. There was a technician there named Rod. He reassured me and said that for some reason bad cats liked him and he liked feisty cats. I thought ok, we'll see. He was amazing with her. Rod talked to her (funny huh), was able to pick her up. I was shocked that she was so good with him. She hissed and growled at everyone else even the doctors. I made a recheck appointment and asked for him. She was amazing with him again. For my final recheck appointment, I found out that Rod is no longer there. For what ever reason he left, I'm sorry to see that he is gone. He was great with my cat, he shook my hand, was always smiling. I know people sometimes follow the vets if they move to another hospital, but I would probably follow him. He was that good with my cat and was great with me. read more

I live several blocks away and have gone by 4 paws many times since they opened but never checked them out. I use several vets from Idaho, Vancouver wa in my travels. I have used vets in Kent, Renton, West Seattle and several in Rainier Vally area. My first visit to 4 Paws to have my 19 year old Pomeranian put down. Every year that we come in for our dogs annual exam, I am so pleasantly surprised. Everyone at Four Paws is a joy to be around and they are never pushy about products/treatments they don't feel are necessary. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that after coming from our former vet who would try and guilt us into something at every visit, and then leave us with a shocking bill. I have been going to Four Paws for about 3 years now and have experienced some pretty tough stuff with my pets during that time, in addition to having two puppies seen there VERY frequently for puppy care and shots. First and foremost, my favorite thing about Four Paws is that they have a pretty big staff, so you can usually get a same-day or next-day appointment, and everyone is SO friendly. I also love that they have a lab on-site. I had previously gone to a different vet in the area that did not have its own lab which created some anxiety trying to get prompt results from a life or death scenario with my cat. I would not have ever thought to consider a lab as a factor for a vet, but that is now my number one criteria. Additionally, Four Paws is really affordable compared to other vets in the area. The vaccines are really reasonable, as are the vet visits with the actual veterinarians. I'd like to mention Dr. Jones in particular - he has been our primary vet here and he is amazing. We had to put our 6 month old puppy down two years ago and he was so compassionate, professional and empathetic during the process. I could tell that he was affected and saddened by our loss which in some ways made it a little easier to go through. The whole staff (can't forget about the techs - they are amazing!!) is wonderful and clearly loves animals. I can't recommend the professionalism of Four Paws enough! Thank you! read more

It is difficult to summarize the countless ways in which Four Paws sets a new standard for veterinary care. Dr. Erin Perotti-Orcutt almost intuitively diagnosed every problem my cat Tootie has ever had. The real trouble began around 2009 with hyperthyroid and Bowen's Disease. The thyroid was treated successfully (though not terribly well by a specialist at another clinic) with radioactive iodine. The Bowen's disease continues to be a problem under treatment, but does not significantly impair Tootie's quality of life. A short time later, my cat began howling in misery. I figured that would be her demise. Dr. Perotti-Orcutt instantly realized it was a ruptured disc and referred us to a gifted acupuncturist. Relief was immediate. In 2012, Dr. Perotti-Orcutt detected an "incurable" stomach lymphoma. Tootie was so ill I thought she'd die the day she was diagnosed. Dr. Perotti-Orcutt referred us to Dr. Sarbu who said the average life expectancy for that kind of cancer with chemo was 6-8 months. Nearly 4 years later, after years of chemo, Dr. Sarbu said she's never seen a cat with that cancer live that long. Tootie is almost 21 years old and still eating plenty of food. I attribute Tootie's longevity to several factors. Dr. Perotti-Orcutt's excellent diagnostic skills caught everything early and accurately. Her excellent referrals permitted generally terrific care. Most important, Dr. Perotti-Orcutt knows when to intervene and when to leave things alone. We treated some things and left others alone. I'm convinced that may be the primary reason Tootie has lived this long and this happily with so many diseases. A few words about the clinic as a whole. I swear this is the only competent clinic in town. For awhile I was picking up medicine and supplies at clinics closer to Queen Anne (where Tootie lives.) Every other clinic managed to screw up the prescriptions. And every other clinic charged 50 to 100% more for the same stuff. Not to mention the concerned, competent, friendly, and knowledgable staff at Four Paws. I'm not exaggerating to say that without Four Paws, Tootie would have been gone years ago. You can't do any better than Four Paws. read more

As a new client of Four Paws, I was very happy with my visit under the circumstances. We had not yet established veterinary care in our new neighborhood when my elderly cat suddenly became very fragile and began shutting down last week. I called Four Paws and explained the situations, saying I felt her quality of life was very low and she may need to be put to sleep. It's a very difficult call to make for an animal family member. I feel like I can't even eloquently write the experience out.. They saw us on Saturday at the end of the day, examined Gracie, my cat, and agreed that her quality of life had diminished. I had a slight hesitation of having my cat put to sleep in a vet clinic because they are often sterile, cold rooms; but, the room at Four Paws was so warm and comfortable, almost like a sitting room. No cold metal tables, but a warm wooden table covered with a cozy blanket for your beloved pet to lay on. Dr. Reed went over the procedure with us, answered all of my questions... He was very gentle with Grace, even after she passed away. He was kind to us. They let us stay in the room until we were ready to take her home. No one wants to make the decision to let their pet go, but as those experiences do, and you need a vet, I recommend Four Paws. I do plan to bring my other cat in to Four Paws for his annual visit and shots and care. read more

The staff, the vets have cared for many of my dogs over the years. I adopt senior golden retrievers, all from Rescues.....I just said goodbye to Rosie, a senior golden who had 2 1/2 years of happiness and health. The Four Paws staff helped me, and helped Rosie with her end of life care....they helped me with the decision to say goodbye to her.....consistently, through the years, my dogs have been treated with kindness, compassion, and skill. We've had great experiences with the staff at Four Paws, and are glad we found them. They've been a great resource for us as first-time dog owners, and have taken the time to answer plenty of questions as we learned about the best ways to care for our dog. They're always ready to help when I call in. The best thing has been how they've followed up to every issue our dog has had, no matter how small. I've always gotten at least one phone call the next day after we visit their office to check on our dog's symptoms, and often times they've followed up multiple times. That has made us feel like they are as compassionate about our pet's well being as we are. And we've seen that compassion in the way their staff treats our dog in the office. Doctor Perotti is excellent. She's very knowledgeable and is very patient in explaining medical options and advice to us. Our dog broke several bones in her paw on Friday night, and the clinic squeezed us in between appointments on Saturday morning. The x-rayed the foot and suggested a cast, but also referred us to a specialist for a second opinion. This indicated that they weren't totally just looking for business, but also cared about our pet. Overall, we have been very satisfied with the follow-up from Dr. Perotti and the vet-techs. My one reservation is that the appointments are kind of pricey ($30-40 for a exam). read more

I set up an appointment for a Monday Morning at 8 am. I sedated the cat, drove him in for the appointment and arrived 5 minutes early. No one was behind the counter when I arrived. Over the next 5 minutes two owners with dogs came in. When the ladies behind the counter finally came back, they took care of the dog owners first, even though they arrived after I did and I sat there with my cat crying and freaking out due to the dogs and no one ever spoke to me. I sat with my cat for 25 minutes without an employee acknowleging my presence. I had another appointment set for another of our cats for the next morning. This will be cancelled and I will never take my animals there. I have 4 cats and they lost our business because they refused to even speak with me at our scheduled appointment time. read more

I have had a very difficult cat that was treated very well, and a dog that can definitely have trouble with people and other dogs. However, she has no problems at this vet. I have seen a few different doctors. They all are knowledgeable and great with my dog. I wouldn't take any pet anywhere else. read more

I am so, SO happy with the service we received today!!! I created this account just so I can share how pleased I am with Four Paws Veterinary Center. Everyone there was helpful and most of all they were extremely accommodating of my reactive border collie that was overdue for shots! I was a bit apprehensive about bringing him into a vet's office and afraid that he might have a bad experience and a set back in all the progress we've made. Dr. Olson and Stacey made a great team for our visit. Not only were they quick at getting us through the visit but I think our dog left with a much needed confidence boost! This was a new environment with new people and our dog adapted well and it was because of the great staff at Four Paws. Dr. Olson and Stacey are seriously my heroes right now! We especially appreciate Dr. Jones who helped us through a very difficult time with our older cat. We really like Four Paws - everyone is very caring and the vets take the time to talk to you over the phone if needed. They genuinely love animals and in my experience they are also very sensitive to the pet owners. I can't say enough good things about Four Paws. Our dog had had a traumatic experience at the vet we took him to the previous week, to the point that he was afraid to get in the car. Four Paws was recommended to us by a friend. As soon as we got there we knew it was a good place. The receptionist (I wish I'd gotten her name) came over to greet him. Then the vet tech, Jillian came out, and made a big fuss over him. She led us to the examining room, and I was happy to see that the examination table is folded up into the wall. They don't have it down if they don't need it. It would have scared our dog. Jillian spent a lot of time with our dog. She sat down on the floor to play with him. Then Dr. Carson came in, and SHE sat down on the floor to play with him! He had a lump that she wanted to check, and although we had to hold onto him she did the needle aspiration so quickly we hardly believed she had done it! Then she went away for a few minutes to do the tests, and came back to tell us it was just a fatty lump. The cost of the visit was about 1/2 of what we have paid elsewhere. They also have a list of boarding places because we are going on a three week vacation. There were some terrific places, and we chose one that met our needs perfectly, Arcadia Dog Ranch in Lake Stevens. It's a "free range" place, no kennels. The dogs sleep in a big room with couches and a TV. And for dogs who are especially nervouse, they get to stay in the house with the owner. This will be great for our dog during his first couple of nights away from Mom and Dad. So the next time you need a vet, check this place out! read more

Four Paws has a great staff but the practice has become money driven and it's hurting those of us who this economy has affected. It seems as if they assume everyone in Seward Park and the surrounding neighborhoods have money and we all don't. Flea products are pushed on you (even if there is no sign of fleas), blood work, x-rays, a dental estimate of $739.00. I walked out feeling like a bad owner because I couldn't afford all the recommendations. My cat went in a healthy 6yr old and we came out feeling poor. Plus I wanted to see Dr. Perotti and as usual lately, she's no where to be found. read more

I am a total neurotic pet owner. My dog is my baby and I will spare no expense. After a AWFUL experience at the Vet clinic on C. Hill on 15th....I switched to Four Paws. Skeptical after my horrid experience at the last vets, I was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Olson was great and the staff was nice, great vet tech's, etc. They have been great about squeezing me in when I'm convinced my dog has worms (and she never does...). I have a giant breed dog and its not easy to get her around but she really doesn't seem to mind going to this vets because its never been a bad experience for her. I always request to see the same vet and have recommended them to 3 separate friends who are all happy with this vet. I was recommended to Elliot Bay Animal hospital by a friend with a giant breed dog as well. EB is way out of the way for me and after hearing they've charged my friend $20K for services, I recommend giant breed owner stay away from them. read more

Four Paws is a fantastic vet! The staff there is super compassionate and very patient with worked up puppy parents. We recently lost our dear dog Margot to cancer and Four Paws was absolutely incredible during the entire ordeal. Dr. Olsen went above and beyond the call of duty in helping Margot through her last days-even doing a house call just a couple of days before leaving on her own maternity leave. As things got worse with Margot we had more and more trouble getting her in and out of the car and Dr. Olsen graciously called a vet that was closer to our (Lake Union Vet- Dr. Waterhouse who is also amazing) house and asked that he do Margot's blood work etc so we didn't have to transport her so often. Dr. Olsen is also a pet acupuncturist and after Margot passed even made a donation in her name to a doggy acupuncture society (side note: if your doggy is having pain please consider acupuncture. For about three days after each treatment Margot bounded around the house like a puppy. It really made a difference in her quality of life). Four Paws is a solid veterinary clinic and I've had good experiences with everyone there. Recently, I had some exceptional experiences, which are the inspiration for this review. My dog, Agnes, had symptoms that worried me. However the symptoms alone could have been the result of any number of issues. Dr. Jones methodically and compassionately went through the possibilities--from easiest to hardest, thinking about tests from least invasive to most. I always knew there was a plan in the event a test was inconclusive. Also, he always called back to answer my questions, even when, IMHO, my questions were already answered by the excellent staff. Oh, and let me reiterate: the staff is excellent. I felt like they were Team Agnes all the way and were totally rooting for my dog. All this was very important to me as we worked through Ag's issues. The problem ended up being a relatively simple one to cure (whew)--but either way--great experience. Thank you, Four Paws! read more
