We made the somewhat crazy decision to completely remodel two of our bathrooms while my wife was pregnant, right before the baby was due. We knew the timeline was tight, but Steve understood our situation completely and promised he'd do everything in his power to finish before the baby arrived. Over the course of the 2-month project, Steve was just incredible. He is extremely attentive, hands-on, and we saw him almost every single day checking on his team's progress. He made the whole renovation process so easy for us right from the start by providing a clear shopping list of all the materials and parts we needed. What really blew us away was how often Steve went above and beyond. He actually came tile shopping with us--not just once, but twice!--to make sure we got the exact right dimensions, sizes, and quantities. When the team discovered mold in our bathrooms (a homeowner's worst nightmare on a tight schedule), Steve took it in stride. He immediately helped coordinate a mold remediator to fix the issue, and incredibly, he found creative ways to not let our tight timeline slip at all. Working with Steven, at Four Seasons Construction was a great experience. We initially found him through our cabinet vendors, Demetra Cabinetry. He was listed as one of their referred installation vendors. We reached out to all of them to obtain a quote, while Steven is not the lowest in price from all of the quotes, he was the most professional in all aspects, including his level of response, accurately detailing the project scope, level of detail in installation and genuine attitude and care for the project. Steven consulted us on how to approach certain hurdles and found solutions, always with a positive demeanor. He was able to fit us into his schedule and completed everything on time and on budget. He was a clear communicator and really pleasant to work with. He returned to finish and finalize certain items that were backordered. He has a great relationship directly with the vendor shop that made it seamless for him to find solutions and fixes for our needs. During the design process the cabinet vendor designer made a few mistakes, but Steven was able to successfully work with them to find solutions for them that didn't harm the integrity of the overall work. We found Steven and Four Seasons after a botched kitchen cabinet installation. Our house was undergoing an entire interior remodel and the first kitchen installer had no idea how to install frameless European cabinets. After speaking to several kitchen contractors, a few refused to correct and redo someone's else's mistakes and others were not as responsive. We selected Steven as he was very responsive and answered our questions. On the first day, he drove out to our house, walked us through the kitchen plans and gave his expert opinion. For example, he suggested securing all the base cabinets with a custom brace to prevent movement during an earthquake. The previous company who just drilled in a few nails. After we met with him, he met with his team and clearly communicated the plan. Together they began measuring and ensuring he went in great detail what needed to be done. Steven's communication was great. We would speak to him several times a day and even though he wasn't onsite every day with his team, he knew exactly what was happening and made sure we did too. Steven asked so many great questions that I would never have thought of. This really helped ensure that everything was done to our expectations. All the communication and their attention to detail paid off as we couldn't be any more happier with the end results. The cabinets were flushed to the wall and the job site was clean. If you ever have a cabinet installer try to use scribe molding on your european cabinets, make sure to run to the hills and call Steven! Don't let them convince you that it's normal to have a gap! We were looking for a GC to make modifications to our kitchen, and carry out repairs and upgrades throughout the house, including a fresh coat of paint. Steven was very thorough and professional in all his interactions. To begin with we had multiple calls discussing the general scope of the work, before we met at the property to discuss details. In person, he gave an estimate of the time and money required to complete each task. He even suggested not doing certain tasks if it meant that the finish would not meet standards. This helped us save valuable resources and focus our energies on what needed to be upgraded. After the contract was signed, Steven and his crew began work on the agreed upon day. They were extremely professional, taking great care to minimize the effect of their work on the rest of the house. He took care of bringing in materials whenever required, and communicated when and how he would want us to bring in materials. The end result was better than what we could have hoped for! I worked with Four Seasons for our kitchen renovation so we had to use them again for our bathroom renovation since we love the quality of work that they provide. Top notch when it comes to detail and craftsmanship. Some key things that I like to point out is that if you really want something in your renovation then you really need to push Steven into doing it. For example, in one of our bathroom we installed a walk in shower. We wanted to put in a linear drain but Steven kept pushing for a center drain. He wasn't sure that his tile guy was capable of doing it but after many attempts in convincing him he finally gave in. Overall, the job turned out perfectly without any issues. I also suggest that you walk through the renovation in details with Steven so you know what to expect. Example, we had a tub installed in the upstairs bathroom and since this is all new to me, i didn't know that he had to cut a hole on the opposite wall to connect the drain pipe. After the work was done, he tack on the extra charge for patching the wall and repainting it which was to my surprise that it wasn't included in the original quote. But overall I have to say if we had any additional renovation to be made we would totally used Four Seasons once again. read more

This was the second bathroom I remodeled with Four Seasons Construction. Steven came onsite, took notes, and then sent a detailed quote within days. The quote was reasonable and in line with other contractors. Steven shared useful recommendations on what to do and what not to do. For example, he recommended to replace the window but not mount heavy glass shelves that would require reinforcement in the wall. This review is long overdue...almost a year ago, Four Seasons completed the remodel of our kitchen, 2 bathrooms, entry foyer, and living area. A year later, we've had zero problems. From the beginning, Steven, the owner, was super helpful and accompanied us to shop the major suppliers in the area, most of whom offered small discount since being referred by a contractor that brings a lot of business in. We had to wait several weeks for his TEAM to free up, but once they started our job, they didn't leave...making for an efficient and fast build - about 5 weeks. Note you have to have your materials bought and appliances ready for installation so this can happen. Quality of work was excellent - Four Seasons doesn't subcontract out and the workers are good at what they do, especially the tile guys. All grout joints were done with 1/8" spacers (vs. 3/16" or ¼"), something that makes the lines look so sharp and clean. Proper backing was provided behind our floating vanities, and Steven is really good about sealing things up right so he doesn't get warranty calls later. The crew also has a phenomenal work ethic - staying late and working on Saturdays and sometimes even on Sunday. Steven also stopped by every few days to check on things, which was great since we were on vacation for a portion of the time. Any questions or issues were communicated quickly. Workers kept the place fairly clean, although we weren't living in the house while construction was happening. Cost-wise, Four Seasons may not be the cheapest contractor you'll find but definitely not on the higher end either. Bid proposal was comprehensive, and although we did have a few (non-requested) change orders during construction, I didn't feel like we were being nickel and dimed. On the scope adds we did request along the way, price was totally reasonable. We did have to pull a minor, non-structural remodel permit for the work, which is something that Steven insisted on. Probably a good thing. We've gotten so many compliments on our kitchen and baths, and we're totally happy with the result. Would not hesitate to use Four Seasons again (we still have the Master Bath to redo), and can highly recommend Steven and his TEAM! read more

(Continued) - We would have demanded fixes right away instead of letting Steven talk us out of it. For example, the shower wall tile grout was obviously uneven. When we pointed this out to Steven, he said that they could add more grout - but they never did. It turned out that this isn't how it works - you can't just add more grout, you have to remove the old grout completely and re-grout, which we guess is why he didn't want to fix the problem. Also, the grade of one of the shower curbs was so steep that the shower door can only be pushed in, it can't be pulled out. Steven said it's better to push in the shower door anyway. And after charging extra for leveling the first bathroom floor, the floor wasn't even level. When we pointed this out to Steven, he said we just have better eyes than he does. We later on had to hire a different contractor to rip half of the bathroom tile, remove the vanities/baseboards, re-level the floor, re-tile, reset the vanities/baseboards, patch and paint, etc. After we fixed the bathroom floor, we noticed the bathroom door was trimmed off in the bottom on one side. So Steven or his guys knew the floor wasn't level, instead of fixing the floor they trimmed off the door and blamed us for being too picky. We are still looking for someone to remove and re-grout the shower walls. - We would have parted ways with Steven after the first bathroom where we had so many issues with the workmanship. Instead, we parted ways before he completed the second bathroom when the job had already taken 7 months. We hired A1 Quality Construction for the kitchen. We had previously used them to install windows and doors and were extremely happy with the quality. It turned out that they do general contracting as well. It took A1 6 weeks to do the kitchen - less than half of Steven's estimate - with clear cost breakdown and payment milestones, no extra charges to accommodate any of the imperfections of our old walls, ceilings, and floors. A1 treated them as part of the job, if they had to furred out walls, they furred out walls; if they had to re-flow the ceiling after the cabinets were installed, they re-flowed the ceiling. And they had a team of people with different specialties, one person for plumbing, one for electrical, one for carpentry, plus other support staff. We were so happy with their work, we wished we had gone with them in the first place. We have learned a lot throughout the entire renovation. Finding a good contractor was so important - it dramatically reduces your stress and heartache, not to mention saving a lot of money. read more

Customer service? Not even close. I spoke with the owner on a pretty big remodel job that requires removing a weight bearing wall. The owner, Steven, promised to contact me for an assessment of the work to give me a quote. He even asked me to send him the diagram of the work through email. I did what he requested, When the time came for the appointment, he never came. I waited and he never called back to let me know he can't make it. Based on the conversation, he doesn't do floors or fireplaces, or major work. Basically, these guys will remove old cabinets and install new ones. Anything requiring structure, or work beyond just cabinets they unable to do. That's fine, however, have the courtesy to let me know that rather have me wait for his appointment as promised and no show. Totally unprofessional. After dreaming of an updated kitchen since I purchased my house 12 years ago, I was finally ready to move forward. I called around 6 contractors (from Yelp) and only was able to get two to come in person to give a rough estimate. I chose Steven Do with Four Seasons, because even with a rough quote, he took the time to look at everything closely and was very detailed. Another factor is his personality, he was very easy going and friendly. I finally decided to go with him to completely remodel the master bathroom, hallway bathroom and the kitchen. This also included updating the electrical panel. Steven took me to local shops for cabinets (Demetra), tiles, and vanities, this was huge since there are so many shops in the south bay, I would have been lost without his lead. He also sent me links to buy on-line for fixtures for shower, faucet, sink, toilets, etc. I made sure most of the items were purchased and received before remodel started, this made the schedule more smooth. We were living through the remodel, and needed at least a toilet, shower and sink, Steven made sure this was done. The crew also put up plastic walls (with a zipper door) to protect the area from dust where needed. Once the demo started, the crew was there everyday and provided update(s) on what they were going to work on. I also made sure to ask them if they needed anything before leaving for work. The entire crew is highly skilled in their specialty, and they were very professional and nice. The work was completed a few weeks ago, with a first pass on final inspection. When we needed to remodel our hall bathroom last year, I chose Four Seasons out of a field of 5 bidders. I felt really confident in their ability to perform and their pricing model worked the best for me as it allowed me the most latitude in selecting the finish materials from the vendors I wanted. Other generals really press you to buy all fixtures and finish materials through them, and that lack of visibility and choice just doesn't work for me. Due to some delays, we started in January and the team was done in the 3 week timeframe we allotted. Although I pulled the building permit myself, the team managed all inspections such that I didn't need to be present. I was impressed by their level of control and communication and feel that project management is a true strength of the company. This is something that is usually overlooked in the selection process, but there is nothing that will ruin your experience more than a project that gets out of control with time and cost, leaving you wondering day-to-day whether or not you'll ever get done. The end results on the hall bath were terrific and it wasn't an easy surface-level remodel. We had a number of dry-rot areas and some tricky framing work. We had such a good experience that I immediately started work planning a master bath remodel with Four Seasons. That was an even more extensive project involving demolition of walls and enlarging the space. We also had a difficult problem of shoehorning a corner tub into a 45 degree right angle corner. This project took 6 weeks and finished right on time. The team worked some Saturdays and late on some weekdays just to make sure we stayed on track. Overall, I was very pleased with our selection of Four Seasons for both baths. All aspects of both projects - cost, time and workmanship - met or exceeded my expectations. Every step of the way, through bidding, planning, demo, rough, and finish work, the crew was efficient, polite, and careful to minimize the disruption to our home and lifestyle. Four Seasons is great! They completed our kitchen remodel a few months ago and it turned out great! I really liked Steven's professionalism and sincerity when I first met him. Steven was on top of our project the entire time. He stopped by multiple times a week and was always readily available when I needed to talk to him. He gave me valuable feedback on the materials I selected and steered me clear of making some bad decisions. The crew was awesome. They arrived early, stayed late, and cleaned up after themselves everyday. They were easy to talk to and answered my frequent questions. On the last day of my project, the day before I was going to leave for vacation, they worked their butts off to complete the finishing touches, which I really appreciated. They completed my kitchen in the time frame Steven estimated when we signed, which I really appreciated. There were a few things that I changed along the way and appreciated the fact that Steven didn't nickel and dime me. His prices were very fair and upfront. Steven asked me at the end of the project if there was anything he or his guys could have done better. I honestly had nothing to say. You might as well refer to Steven Do, owner and general contractor, and his construction team as THE Stephen Curry and Warriors of bathroom & kitchen remodels because they are the best at what they do! I couldn't have asked for a better contractor who is honest, responsive, and shows a lot of pride in his work. His team is not physically imposing, but they make up for it in terms of their speed, agility, and getting the job done, all while maintaining the highest craftsmanship and quality. We started the process in Fall of 2016 to remodel our master bathroom. Four Seasons had come highly recommended from my friend in the building construction business and for good reason. If you've ever tried to start a home remodeling project, you can start to feel overwhelmed quickly because there are thousands of choices in bathroom tiles, flooring, countertops, faucets, etc. From the beginning, Steven was able to guide us through the process of choosing the materials including best places to shop online and within physical stores. He also has a great design aesthetic and his reassurance was helpful when you're afraid of plunking down a lot of money for something you cannot see until the very end. Moreover, I felt very comfortable reaching him by text or phone during the day if I urgently had a question on anything. Once we finished buying all the materials, Steven and his crew set began the project. They correctly understand that people don't like the dust and noise during construction. The helpers were meticulous and fastidious in laying down plastic covers on the floor and then adding/removing a fabric floor cover while working in my home. They also installed a handy-dandy privacy curtain to keep the master bedroom clean and dust-free while they worked in the bathroom. Well, lo and behold, after four weeks, our master bathroom was finished and we're super-excited to be able to enjoy the beautiful bathroom again, thanks to the Four Seasons Construction Team. I would not hesitate to hire Steven and his crew again for other projects and to refer him to my family and friends. Steven and his team are great. We did a major renovation. We did not move load bearing walls. We did, however, raise some floors, remove some non-load bearing walls. We did remove all of the hardwood and tile floors. We replaced windows, gutted the bathroom and kitchen. The whole house was repainted, inside and out. Steven's team did all of this work and was very detailed, conscientious and patient. They did not cut corners. They made suggestions on things we could do that we couldn't think of. They also identified areas that will help us in the long run such as replacement of rotted wood. What I probably value the most is that Steven and his team really care about the quality of their work. For example, for the bathroom his tile installer spent almost the whole first day figuring out exactly how to place the tiles. This avoided ending up with a small sliver of tile at the edges. Many tile people would just place the first tile in a whole piece and as they stack up the wall, you can end up with a small piece of tile at the edge of the wall. In our bathroom, the first tile was slightly cut on the bottom and side to avoid this. This is something that when done right (and Steven's team does it right) you don't notice it because it looks natural. But when done wrong you really notice it. Steven's team also worked quickly and efficiently. The renovation took longer that we were hoping, but that was because he was waiting for us to make decisions. Should have posted this review last year--Really loved Steven and his crew. He gave our bathrooms a makeover beginning with our master bathroom and our half bath and another bathroom starting fall of 2017. It was all completed last spring in 2018. Steven is good at managing the projects and his crew is punctual, and hard-working. Whenever we needed a change or to address something that we wanted to add on or vary in the project, Steven would get back to us quickly and he is good about touching base with us. Call me a cynic, but I'm usually highly suspicious of businesses that have too many excellent reviews. BUT I can honestly say that Four Seasons Construction deserves every great review and 5 stars (or more). We hired Steven and his crew to demolish and redo our outdated kitchen. We don't have a huge kitchen, but our old 70's house came with more than a few quirks to work around. Each person on Steven's crew was professional, extremely hardworking and completely trustworthy. My young kids and I were home most of the summer while the construction was going on and the crew was so respectful of our space and easy to have around. Things that I really appreciated: 1) They communicated well -- they let us know when they were coming, what they were working on, any issues they encountered were communicated to us as well as to the rest of the crew. 2) They were sensitive about us living in the house during construction. They respected our space, were always friendly and professional, they made sure they parked on our driveway so that we could get in and out easily. 3) At the end of each workday, they collected the trash, did their best to tidy up, put tools/equipment they were leaving piled in a corner. I even found one of the guys vacuuming my dining room one day because he thought he created more dust that day. 4) Steven and/or his foreman would always be onsite when deliveries were made. They took care of any issues with the vendors right away. 5) Their willingness to go the extra mile -- we were pleasantly surprised at all the little extra things they did for us: painting the outside wall of the kitchen where we took out a window, touching up paint in the dining room which is adjacent to the kitchen, etc. 6) Steven's sense of humor and his ability to diffuse tense situations with difficult people was impressive. We ran into issues with some vendors, but Steven helped smooth things over and kept the project going. Recently, a potential client of Steven's asked me what I'd like fixed in my new kitchen. My answer -- absolutely nothing. I've practically lived in my new kitchen for the past 6 months. I absolutely love my kitchen and am so impressed with the amazing workmanship.
