Also had wings with blue cheese, they sent something but it wast blue cheese and the wings barely had any meat on the bone. I was a little leary about going to Fox and Hound for dinner but it had already been decided and it wasn't that I didn't want to go, I just didn't know what to expect. We go inside and the first thing we have to do is give them our driver's license. They swipe the card and then give us a receipt to sign. It basically says we're part of a club and by signing we've joined said club. *huh?* Apparently there's some loophole that says if you join a club then you can do anything that is not permissible in a restaurant. In this case, I think it's smoke. So great. We're all gonna smell smokey by the end of our meal. We find a table for the 5 of us and it just so happens the Stars are playing the Red Wings. I was born in Dallas and my in-laws are from Michigan so they're Red Wings fans. What a coincidence! Of course, I'm sitting on the side of the table that is not facing a TV playing the game. Luckily for me, the hostess was able to get the TV in front of me changed to the Stars game too! Perfect! So, on to the food! Their menu is actually quite good. I decided I'd go pub style and get the fish and chips. I didn't really want the french fries so I asked if I could get onion rings. For $1.50 upcharge, I could, but if I wanted, I could get onion strings as a substitute without an upcharge. Perfect, I was sold. I also got the black beans as my other side. Food arrived and my fish and chips was huge. 3 very large pieces. It was quite good but it was oily and made my stomach upset later when I returned home. The onion strings were cold and disappointing. The black beans were spicy and were delicious. All together, the evening was pretty good. It is loud in there, but you'd expect it from a bar/grill/pub style restaurant. Service was good and the food was average to above average. read more

Shame on me for coming back here. The service is the worst at lunch. Have been three times...and trust me, it wasn't a charm. This past time, we sat for 10 minutes before the manager came and asked us if we'd been helped. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. After fumbling around with our drink order, he took our lunch order. 10 min later, a waitress came and asked if we'd been helped (apparently she was our waitress...20 min after we sat down). Another manager came and told us that our lunch was on them for the long wait. 5 minutes later, the manager that promised us free lunch then promised us that our food was way on it's way out. We left after another 5 minutes. Nobody tried running after us. We'll NEVER be back and I hope everyone reading this will take my advice to NEVER go there. read more

As a destination for your buddies to get together and watch the game over beer Fox and Hounds is a good choice, especially on Tuesday nights. It's $2 a pint (domestic and imports) all night and if that doesn't make you do an Irish jig then you must be a priest. The space is spacious and well thought out for your guy's night out pleasure. Center mast they have bar tables and booths while on both left and right sides of the restaurant they have rooms with plenty of pool tables, darts, checkers, and a pseduo college dorm room setup with a mix of couches and tables and bar stools. We had no problems nabbing two pool tables and noticed several dart boards were open too. TV screens must number in the hundred es at this place. If you suffer from ADD, you should live here because every sports channel known to mankind is on air. The food honestly is just ok. I ordered 20 wings and they were very average. Extremely small, tough, and not enough sauce on the wings. But if you're planning to come here for a real dinner, look elsewhere. Come here for the fun atmosphere, access to plenty of pool tables and other pub entertainment options, friendly service, and awesome $2 pint nights on Tuesdays. read more

The best thing about this place is that it's really clean, almost sterile except for the smoke. The location is pretty inconvenient from everything, though, and the waitresses were really annoying. I love coming here on Star's game nights, especially if they fall on Tuesdays because they have the best specials then. The service is always great and I love the appetizer menu. This place has not changed in ten years. And it is just like all the other Fox and the Hounds everywhere but maybe even bigger. Our waitress was nice and came around often. We did the $14 tower of Bud for our large group of people and even ended up getting a second. DH and I played darts, but we played with only two darts because that's all they had left at the hostess stand--and what was even weirder was that not at all the dart boards were taken. You read the other reviews right, people can still smoke here. For us non-smokers that's crazy, but I guess smokers need a watering hole too. There aren't smoking/non-smoking sections (at least there weren't at 9pm on a Saturday), so just beware that smoke may be everywhere and you can't really avoid it. read more

This place has a very casual atmosphere. There's plenty of TVs to watch at the bar, and the beer is decent. The staff and servers are friendly and attentive, always checking on you (without over-doing it) to make sure you are okay. However, the food here is average at best. The place smells extremely smokey (so if you are sensitive to that, look elsewhere). The car park also could be better lit, and is riddled with potholes. However, If you are looking to go to a very casual place, grab a beer with some friends and play pool, this is your kinda place. If you are looking for a gourmet meal and a trendy place to hang out, I'd say look elsewhere. read more

I was traveling with colleagues to the Plano/Richardson area on business this past September & we happened upon this place on a Tuesday night. Awesome find! On Tuesday nights all draft beers are $2. My friend was driving and as such I was the designated drinker. I also ordered a makers mark bourbon. The pour was a little on the light side (closer to 1 ounce rather than 1.5) however when the bill came the cost was low & in-line with the amount of bourbon I received. The food and atmosphere was great! I felt comfortable in going all-out and ordering a full rack of the BBQ ribs. The ribs were phenomenal and well worth it. Another nice touch: Smoking of premium cigars is allowed! I do not smoke cigarettes nor do I smoke cigars on a regular basis. I shun standard all-smoking restaurants as I cannot stand inundation of cigarette smoke. But its a nice change of pace, from somebody who smokes 1 or 2 premium cigars a month, to be able to enjoy a cigar out while at a restaurant. A word on the smoking of cigars: Leave the El Producto's at home and bring premium cigars only. The service was great & mostly college-aged females. The servers are down-to-earth and very friendly to talk to. Fox and Hound also has "Shot Girls" who roam the floor selling tube shots & jello shots, etc from trays. The shot girls are drop-dead beautiful & the shots the sell are the real-deal. I've been to other places (Wild Bill's in Buford, GA) which also had beautiful shot girls that sold only lousy drinks or overpriced short-pour shots. Not so at Fox and Hound. The shot girls here offer real drinks at honest prices I signed up for their 'all-star brew club' rewards program before leaving. This rewards program seems honest & straightforward, nor do they inundate me with emails. I kept my rewards card as I was looking forward to returning. The good news is I am traveling to Plano again the week of February 14th. I plan on going here at least 2 to 3 more times during my upcoming visit.. read more

This is a good place to watch the game of your choice. The staff is accomodating as they will gladly switch the channel to your sports game of choice. For me its any team playing the Phillies. 3 items on the menu that are a must have include the Napa Valley Spinach Salad, the Jamaican Chicken and the New York style cheese cake. My only beef with the place is the smoking and having my ID checked each and every time I enter the place. My review is going to be a for unorthodox reasons as I don't go for food or the booze. Being a big fan of the WWE, I was told by a friend of mine that they play the monthly pay-per-views for a small cover charge (used to be $3, but last time I went it was $5). I find it a lot more enjoyable to see the shows with a large group of people and cover + food is still cheaper than ordering it at home and they have free wifi which is a plus. For bar food it's on par/better than what you'd get a chain like Chili's, a diverse menu, and the servers are always great. However, service can be slow if there are a ton of people ordering at once especially when there's a game going at the same time. One bit of advice, if you want a "good" seat and not be stuck in the back (you can still see fine, I just prefer sitting closer) then get there at least 30min early. There's a radio show that plays before the PPV and it's been steadily rising in attendence. read more

Popped in here for a quick meal while in town for work. Didn't even realize there are still places in the US where you can smoke indoors. They scanned our IDs because it is a "social club" 21+ and we had the pick of the place for tables. As I said, I was surprised to see ash tray's on the tables...the place did not smell good. I'm sure this is a good place to watch a game or play pool. I gave it two stars because our server was super attentive and nice and the tomato soup, though small, was quite flavorful. Jessica is awesome!! But once we started playing some of the game a dude took over and honestly half of us didn't even know he worked there at first. He was asking us if we wanted shots and what we wanted to drink like he was buying them. Well he did work there and we had not problem paying for what we "ordered" and yes he was taking shots with us. But when it came to closing out tabs he tried to charge more than one of us for shots the others had after they had already paid their tabs Which I'm sure some were his too so then they just decided we owed nothing because they got caught. They though a bunch of women were dumb enough to just pay for whatever. Horrible place will never be back. read more

Food was great and atmosphere was great. We went on a really busy night, place was packed, Wrestlemania 30 but service, drinks, and food was still great. Our waitress Ashley W did an excellent job and made sure we had everything we needed over the 4 hour event. Great service with a smile. We got the buffalo dip and mini dogs. Great appetizers. I got a Ruben and my gf got a flatbread pizza. Both were greasy, but hey, it's bar food. It was still good. Drinks were great too. It's a smoke friendly place which was scary at first but there really wasn't that many smokers and the few I saw actually walked away from tables which was super respectful. Fox and Hound is the Dallas Gator game watchin headquarters.. Imma Gator, so I'll be there for most college football season Saturdays. Typical bar fare... I usually get wings. The wings are good, kinda crispy.. but not very hot.. even the hot isnt that hot. Not like I want to cry during my meal, but a slightly runny nose would be nice. My only beef here is the service.. they never get the discount right and I always have to send my bill back.. I have been there 3 or 4 times.. and it always gets sent back. Everything here is perfect, except the managers attitude. I look young and I understand checking my ID but the manager here made me feel like I was bringing him a fake ID. Just explain the process, instead he tells me 1. I look young 2. It's a private club. Ok, so explain the process and maybe I won't get offended. Tuesday NIGHTS! That is the time to come to the Fox and Hound. $2 draft beers, all of them. That's right, you can get a Stone IPA for $2. You can get your Franziskaner for $2. You can even get Miller Lite and Bud Light for $2. They've got at least 20-25 different beers on tap. Aside from that, there are tons of pool tables and dart boards. It's a good place to go with a few friends and pound some back. There are a few drawbacks though. I never noticed it before, but my girlfriend once pointed out that it smells like puke and cigarettes here, and now that I've finally caught onto it, I can't unsmell it. The place could definitely use a febreeze bomb or two dropped on it. John W. said in a very recent review that the smell is gone, I'll have to check back next Tuesday and see if that's true, or if he's a clever Fox and Hound employee trying to drum up biz, I'm kind of leaning towards the latter, but we'll see. Second is the service, if you go when the beers are $2 expect to ignored at the bar most of the time, unless you have one of those captivating faces that people just can't help but be drawn to. I, unfortunately blend in like an M&M in a bag of Skittles, so I typically have to wait unless I start pounding my fists on the bar gorilla style, at which point kindly leave and stop ranting about M&Ms. I've tried the food a time or two and it's not bad, about what you'd expect from a chain restaurant/bar. This bar is amazing! The bartenders give you a generous amount of alcohol per order, there's so many fun games to play, the music choice is great, the music isn't too loud and you can still have conversations with your group of friends, and the atmosphere is just amazing. Also, the place is huge so there's plenty of room to do your own thing with out being crowded. read more

I've been here a few times. It's either a hit or miss. Why? Mainly the customer service. You will either love it or you might leave a little disappointed with the service you receive. Food: I recommend the ultimate platter. It's great to share if you're with a group of friends or if you can't decide on what to order. The platter includes drunken chicken tenders, boneless wings, loaded tots, mozzarella sticks, and biergarten pretzels. The platter is $18, but totally worth it if you plan on sharing. Drinks & specials: I recommend coming here on Tuesday's. Beer for $2! You really can't beat this deal. My friends and I love coming to Fox on Tuesday's (for this reason). We also enjoy playing darts and shuffleboard. Lots of college students from UT Dallas hangout here. 3/5 stars because of the customer service. Got there at 6:30pm, waited about 15 minutes by the dart area before i saw a waitress and then had to flag her down. She was pleasant and took it drink order. 10 minutes later someone else brought our drinks and took our food order. 30 minutes later i went looking for someone to find out when we would be getting our food and ran into the first waitress. I had to order it again with her. 20 minutes late we got the food and asked for a second round of drinks since ours had been empty for a while. Took another 20 minutes before i went looking for another server too get drinks, that one said she'd be right over, then, 10 minutes later the first waitress came over and asked if we needed anything, i told her we still needed our drinks and asked for the check. She was back in 5 minutes with the check and the drinks. Took another 20 minutes before she came over to take my credit card. A long time waiting for food that wasn't that good and 2 rounds of drinks. Been going there for years and was waiting for it to open back up. It'll be a while before i go back, in hopes that i the place fixes it's service. read more

This place is quite large and great for groups. I've never really had a problem with service. They're also upping their game on the number of craft beer selections. However, I've been in the area for the last 13 years. I used to come here all the time in college because I liked the food and the atmosphere. However, they've changed their menu recently (I don't know when) and the food isn't as great. Also, the last two times I've gone, the left and right wings of the building have been consumed with vapor conventions, where local vape shops bring in their wares and sell them or allow you to sample. As someone who vapes, I don't have a problem with the culture, but they do bogart those two rooms where the pool tables and dart boards are. It's impossible to get in there to do those activities when those things are going on and it makes me not really want to visit on Saturday nights. But there are lots of TV's and overall, it still has that sort of "party-ish" atmosphere that's nostalgic for me. read more

I've been here twice for TX/OU weekend, so I guess my review isn't that credible, if that's what you'd like to think. However, the two times I've been here my experience has been "all right." The atmosphere was something I could deal with because the entire place was divided into three large sections. These sections give privacy for large groups, which I appreciated. The thing that really got me about this place was the food. It just wasn't that great... I forget the name of the platter i got that has multiple appetizers like the soft pretzels, buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, etc. The soft pretzels were too greasy, the buffalo wings were tough and could have used a little more sauce. I guess the only great thing on that platter was the cheese sticks that were deep fried. And that's not too hard to mess up in my opinion. But for those of you looking for a place to watch a game, have a couple (or several) of cold ones, you should check this place out. read more
