Although Fox & Hound is just down the street from us, we haven't been here in months. I forgot how good their standard dishes are, like a good pub burger, tater tots, onion rings, salads, or chicken tenders. They offer a good variety of beers too. We came here for lunch recently and we were seated and served right away. They are already serving a Winter Lager. Fun place for a date night or group too. I am glad they are still in the area, when other similar places, like The Local in Schaumburg, have closed. read more

Ummmmm okay wow! All the new food and drink additions here are awesome. The only reason I took off 1 star is bc drinks are pricey for a suburban bar. The costs are similar to high end unique drinks in Chicago. I was here on a Friday night with a group of 5. Service was very good and consistent. It was great to see this place filled with people since it's been around for a longgggg time. I'm a big fan of the food here and the new items are delicious. It is your typical bar food options for the most part however it is done well. They've also expanded their cocktail menu and have daily specials. I never write reviews, but this clown of a sports bar was so bad in every possible way that I downloaded Yelp and made an account just to warn people not to waste their time or money here. Hands down, this is the worst sports bar I've ever been to. The service was awful from start to finish. We were given the wrong drinks, the food came out cold, and we were seated under TVs that didn't even work -- which kind of defeats the entire point of a sports bar. To top it off, when it came time to pay, the server didn't even bother asking me how I wanted to split the check. My husband and I came to dinner here for the first time last night and had a positive experience. We have driven past this place and seen it on Open Table many times, so we decided to make a reservation; however, we totally did not need to make one because the restaurant was dead. As we walked in, a man who I believe was the owner, opened the door for us and welcomed us into the restaurant. He had such a positive personality and asked us how we were and what table preference we had (the bar, a high top, standard chairs, or a booth). After we were seated, a really nice woman came to our table right away and asked about drinks. I really wish I remembered her name because she was an amazing waitress with a personable attitude. She constantly checked up on us, gave us our refills, and even told us about the rewards program on the app because we were able to get $10 off of our bill if we joined (which we did). The restaurant itself was clean and had a beautiful open concept. The bar had colored lights attached which made it look cool, and they had tons of different taps. We were sitting in the main dining room at a high-top table surrounded by tons of TVs. To the right of our table was an extra room, which they probably use as their party room and extra dining room. We saw a pool table in there, and I know they also have shuffleboard, Jenga, and darts. We were happy with the quality of our food. As an appetizer, we ordered buffalo chicken wings ($15). They were perfectly cooked, had a good amount of spice, and weren't dry. For my dinner, I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich with crinkle fries ($14). The chicken breast on the sandwich was HUGE and had a great sweet and spicy flavor combination, and it included pickles and coleslaw on the sandwich, too. It was also extremely crispy. It was one of my favorite local Nashville hot chicken I have tried! The fries were good, but nothing unique. My husband ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Mac & Cheese ($15.5) and it was HUGE. It came with so much chicken and was definitely worth the price. He really enjoyed it, but he said it was too spicy for him. He ended up ordering a side of ranch to pour all over it because not only does the chicken have the sauce on it, but the mac and cheese is served over the hot sauce, too! He loved the flavor and taste, as a whole, at least, but said he probably couldn't order it again because of the spice. As I stated above, the bar has many different taps and has an extensive beer and cocktail menu. I ended up ordering a short Black & Blue (half Blue Moon, half Guiness) but it was $9 which was honestly crazy expensive for what it was. I don't remember seeing any of their beers have prices on the menu, so that was a bit annoying. Prices as a whole aren't awful for the quantity and quality of the food you receive. Yes, the alcohol menu is expensive in my opinion, especially for a chain restaurant, but the food is pretty comparable to other restaurants in the area. We did not come here for Happy Hour, but I don't think their advertised Happy Hour prices are worth it for food, but they are for domestic bottles or well cocktails. You only get $2 off starters (excluding chicken wings) which normally are 1/2 off at other restaurants; $1 off draft beers which are already expensive so $1 doesn't do much, $3 domestic bottles, $4 well cocktails, and $5 wine by the glass. Overall, we definitely recommend Fox & Hound. It is a chain restaurant, but there are only 4 locations in total. We will definitely be back and will try other entrees on the menu! They also have a list outside that tells you what sports games will be on their TVs, so that's cool, too, since it's a sports tavern. read more

Ok- we'd long wanted to stop here, and tonight was the night! We made our way and got there in time for happy hour- I got a 20oz draft IPA (local, of course), and hub-hub got the seltzer water w/lemon slice (as per usual). initial service in the almost-empty (it seemed) restaurant was pretty prompt. Music in the room was initially at a perfect level- allowing for a nice conversation. But sometime between ordering and delivery? The volume went up noticeably (not sure we appreciated it). Ok- Hubby ordered the Thursday special for 12.99- a 12oz NY steak (perfectly cooked at medium), which was "supposed" to come with garlic cheese toast and a baked potato. It came with garlic toast and fries (!). What? No cheese? And we're next to Wisconsin too? Sacrilege! Ok - we tolerated it. Hubby was ok with the steak - yay. I ordered the turkey melt with tots which came as ordered and tasted yummy. Tellingly, with the house "Boom Boom Sauce" (!). Ok- no desserts. We had to go searching for the server, as she disappeared into the lightly populated restaurant and we had no idea where she'd gone to. She came over, provided a box for leftover steak, and brought the check. Now- it's a pub. Lots of room. Pool tables abound. Not many people seem to be there for happy hour - a concern. The demerits were related to the lack of follow-thru servers and hubby's meal being "not quite what was on the menu". Goodness. We want to like them- the menu is good, and the flavors are just fine - but when the food you ordered isn't "quite" what you get? And the server just kinda disappears? Came here pretty late for dinner and got the chicken tenders, chicken sandwich, and nachos platter. The service was amazing and our server was super nice and patient with us. The food was super delicious and the portions were super big. We loved the tater tots and the sauces for the chicken tenders were really good. There's definitely a lot of space in the restaurant and it connects to the area where you can also play pool. My husband and I came to Fox & Hound on a Monday night to meet up with some friends. I ordered the crispy chicken salad. The salad was good except that there wasn't enough salad dressing. My husband ordered the California white pie. This pizza was over flavored and had too much going on. I would not order this again. The quality of food did not match the price that we paid for it. I found this place by chance because the pizza spot my partner and I were trying to order from was closed and thank goodness they were! This is my new favorite place and we've ordered or been here three times in the past two weeks their food has no damn business being this good and I can't leave the Guinness Onion Soup alone (make it stop) the vibe was slightly mixed with a bit of a older crowd and younger was more at the bar and playing pool and ping pong. Tommy was great and balanced when it came to checking in on us and getting us what we needed and it was the pick me up I needed when we came in. Thank goodness for Fox & Hound. Unless you were the two regular guys nursing one beer and one app hogging the couches in front of the TVs, scrolling on their phones.They had a very attentive server; ours was mostly absent. No refills on water, table was never cleared, so we had a stack of dirty dishes that accumulated every time we ordered another app for the table. Ambiance was also terrible. My husband recommended going to Fox and Hound for Happy Hour which I hesitantly agreed to. My expectations were met and exceeded! This neighborhood sports bar offers pool, darts, shuffle board, multiple dining areas, and great bar food! We each got the happy hour special of $4 well drinks and $2 off a starter. The Ultimate Platter was the perfect appetizer to share on top of a tasty drink. Browsing over the rest of the menu, there were plenty of options that sounded tasty to come back and try. Our server, Chloe, said she was new but demonstrated great knowledge of the menu, was so sweet/welcoming and was an absolute delight after a long Friday. I struggle between a 3 and 4 star rating here. The reason for the 3 star instead 4 is because the service needs a little improvement and there are no prices for beer. Other than that, I have found to really like this place. The ambiance is great for families, large and small friend gatherings, or simply a meal alone while watching a game. I ordered the lunch fish & and chips for $11. It was an amazing deal and very flavorful Sam Adam's beer batter. On top of that, the fish was a huge portion. I spoke to some of the other customers around me, and they all told me their food was amazing also. So for food choices, taste, and value, they definitely get a 5 star. They have a large beer section, but be careful. They have 3 different sizes, and the price ranges from the monthly special for $5 to over $10 for a beer. That makes me nervous to go back because there should be no reason to be shady with your drink prices. I will continue to give this place a try, because I really enjoy my visit. I come here about once a month for lunch with my colleague. It's not busy at all during lunch. I'm guessing it's because the pricing is a bit high for lunch unless it's on company tab. Their locations is pretty big so I would imagine they can get busy sometimes but the time I went in, it was a weekday afternoon and was very quiet. Perfect for watching the game as drinks didn't seem overpriced (comparing to other bars of course) and was a nice place to chill sine there is so much room. Staff was ok but they definitely could use some help when it comes to waiting on tables and what not. What a disappointment. I haven't been here in a few years, but always had decent experiences before. Figured I'd order from here last night, disgusted with how far down this place has gone. I ordered a burger - well done, no pickles. I'm a fussy eater, I hate the taste of pickles, and seeing any pink/red inside my burger is instantly off putting... so they decided to be super fun and send my burger both with pickles and undercooked! The chili nachos were essentially a container of chips with some taco seasoning and some melted cheese. A far cry from what was described on their menu. Oh and finally, you can be 100% sure the fries they serve you are the frozen crinkle cut fries from a store. That's right, they can't even be bothered to fry some potatoes. They were soggy, soft, and still slightly frozen in the centre. As soon as I saw the inside of the burger I called them. I waited 4 minutes for someone to answer, he then told he he was busy and give him a second. 14 minutes later I'm still waiting just listening to the background noise from the restaurant. I hung up and called back, waiting another 5 minutes for an answer. When I finally talked to someone, they continuously told me to call GrubHub despite the fact I told him 6-7 times I DID NOT order through GrubHub. After a back and forth for 5-10 minutes he told he the manager wasn't working today and is the only one that can offer a refund. Disgusting food, disgusting service. I will never GK back, and I will be filing a chargeback for my refund, hopefully the fee they get charged will be some form of motivation to hire competent staff? read more

For watching UFCs and boxing this place is one of the best for viewing. They'll be showing the big boxing matches alongside of the UFCs. Food is ok. Only problem is which one's audio is playing! Went for a Bears game (a game they won, btw) to meet with friends over drinks and food. It was about 8 of us. We got there early so that we don't have to wait, but there is so much space there, it wouldn't have mattered unless we were really late! There are about 3 rooms that are large in size with tables. One of the rooms also has couches, darts and pool tables. Our server was great, she was attentive and patient. She always came around to check on us and refill whatever was needed. We ordered food and drinks. I had some Vanilla Brew Beer, which was surprisingly good. Not too strong or sweet. I also ordered their wings, which you get for free if you check in. I ordered the Honey BBQ wings and they were grilled, not fried. I wasn't expecting that, but they tasted good. Another person on the table ordered the chicken tenders, which were beer battered. While I LOVE beer battered fish, I didn't think it fit well for chicken. The burgers were juicy, and the fries were really good. Overall, good bar joint. Been here several times. Service is A plus! Wait staff is always courteous and prompt. Fight Night is always a blast! Great view and sound on several screens throughout the bar.
