First: door to door is pushy, never mind the April making it out that there will never be insect or mice problems again (hello?! We live in the woods!!). 2nd: Hello? Pandemic isn't over yet! Salesperson had no mask on or even in his person. Kept trying to get within 3 feet to show some baloney on his tablet. Mask up or get out! Doesn't even matter if the company does a good job of not, if they can't do sales well or even safely, then I am for sure not signing up for the product. I think every functioning adult has learned that if someone sells "a special deal" or one that is "just for you" because you hesitated on the first offer, then there is something shady going on. read more

Door to door harassment. My entire town is warning each other in our community Facebook about these people. I pulled into my driveway with my child and had barely gotten out of my car when this man rolls up in his segway (really?) and loudly calling out which scared us. I don't need complete strangers coming up my driveway or knocking on my door. If I want a service I'll look it up online or ask neighbors for recommendations. These people are trespassing. read more

There was only one person home when the service came and obviously this manager is not getting the correct information. Social distancing was always respected and nobody ever came inside. Again I said I have allergies and I was at least eight feet away from them and we were outside. We are all concerned about the virus and I believe your technician was scared because he is working with the public and probably shouldn't be. We all need to wear a mask or socially distant when not possible. I respected the social distancing. I paid this company $300 and the insects is still inside my house. I was told a contract was to get rid of insect and take care of any problems in between spraying that wasn't done professionally and havng multiple technicians left me still dealing with this matter. read more

Unable to solve simple ant problems. Constantly, making excuses. Failing to follow up as requested numerous times. Used them for 2 years on two properties, but finally got so fed up with their arrogant (anti) customer service, I fired them. They want to spend your money and ignore what you tell them, they fail to understand the meaning of the word "service" which involves "serving" the customer, NOT telling the customer what to do. Received a new driver and rather talk to the neighbor instead of doing his job left wasps nest on the house. Sent a email and the responded a month later , poor business practice. I usually don't appreciate cold sales calls at my doorstep, but this time is exception. They were servicing a neighbor, and had some reasons to believe that my house might be subject to ant, spider, and ladybug infestation (which it is). The salesman Daniel was very good about explaining the service and responding to my needs, without being pushy. The rates are very reasonable, And they perform their initial service on the spot, which I was very impressed with. Not just spraying The foundation, but swiping around eaves and windows, laying down termite monitors, and spraying the shrubs for ticks. Upon my request, they laid down a trap in a specific area. Moved out to the 'burbs in summer of last year and we were inundated with mosquitoes and ticks. Never had a big back-yard before, so wasn't sure what to expect. 2019 was pretty bad with pests, and we even saw some termite larvae near our shed. We hired Fox this spring and haven't had a single complaint from my daughters about mosquito bites, and the yellow jackets (who were starting to establish themselves) are gone. I don't have experience with many companies since this is the first time I've had to hire one, but the price is reasonable and the people I've met that come out are super friendly. read more

I have called and complained multiple times about their technicians either not showing up, doing a bad job, not doing their jobs, not wearing masks, and in-spite of my complaints they do nothing to fix the problems. The Fox Pest Control (northern VA) branch has the best rodent program in the area. we have been through 4 different companies over the past 4 years. To be honest, every contract is pretty straight-forward. With the amount of pest control companies now, they all have their little perks to get you to switch. That is just the world we live in today. Anyone writing a review in ignorance of how pest control works (which is just about all of us) should understand that it is not going to change. I would stay away from any contract that is a "pay-per-visit" platform. though they may seem cheaper, Aptive attempted to squeeze an extra service out of us which is borderline illegal... but that is another review for another time. Fox, is not the cheapest, nor are they the most expensive, but they offer the same (if not more) than any other pest control company can legally offer. in 4 years not a single company could get a handle on our mouse situation. Fox was able to in just 3 months (really in just 2 visits) through efficiency and guidance. rodents don't discriminate. While most of the technicians you talk to are too hurried to be bothered by your problems, FOX took the time to explain every step and executed their process exactly as so. We also, just received our spring treatment and was told why they were doing what they were doing, using what they were using, and how it was going to protect us moving forward. I really appreciated them ringing my doorbell at 7:45 on a Friday night while my 1yr old was trying to sleep to sell me services I never asked to be contacted about. It doesn't say much about your company if you have to bother people at night to drum up business. read more

We switched from Terminix to Fox Pest Control and are so glad we did. They had come to our house to introduce the company and we were originally going to just poo poo it, but the gentlemen was so nice and didn't sound like your usual annoying sales person, so we listened to when he had to say. Long story short, it was a wise decision to got with Fox because they are so much more thorough and reliable. I used to have such a hard time getting Terminix to come back for a re-treat. I have no such issues with Fox. Plus they give lots of great updates and reminders as to when they are coming. A very reliable and professional team all around. read more

I was paying over $800/year for this service, 2 years after signing a 1 year contract. They came out because I called saying we had mice again. The technician came out out, 3 weeks later, we still had mice and I ended up setting my own traps, and caught 5 mice! So I sent an email (in writing as the contract indicates ) to cancel. 30 days later they send me an invoice, so I called and she said the only accept cancellatin via a phone call, not an email, and they sent me a copy of my signed contract, which I circled where it says that cancellation must be in writing! nothing about requiring a phone call. Not only that but the price kept going up each year even though I never signed anything other than a one year contract, which then goes month to month. And when I called, she said it shows that my account is still active not cancellled!! Watch out for these guys...don't sign up with them. Read other reviews have similar complaints. read more

I signed up for service with FOX last year. However, in January of this year, right after a significant snow storm that left over 6" of snow on the ground and over 12" banked up against my house, I had FOX show up at my house to spray. When I confronted the FOX serviceman, I asked him why he was going to spray pesticide on over 6" of snow. I was told that he had the order to spray. I told him to contact his office and tell whoever thought this was a good idea, that I did not want the snow and ice sprayed and in fact I wanted the service canceled. The next month I got a call from a FOX representative stating that I had not paid for the service. I told the rep that I would not pay for spraying snow and ice, and I was no longer going to use their service. After this call, FOX continually sent bills demanding payment. I am now reporting them to the BBB. I do not recommend FOX to anyone. read more

Although they scheduled and did a WPI quickly for me, they then turned around and told me they could not supply the report because I was not a current customer. Then why do the inspection? Why not tell me up front theu only work with current customers. I do not have pest problem Even if I did now or in the future, FOX will not get my business or recommendation. Scheduled an appointment for mice with Fox Pest Control out of Huntley. Couldn't get an appointment for almost a week, but scheduled for 5:30pm and paid the $150 for appointment. They arrived at my house the day of the appointment around 10:00am. Because I was not home at that time, they said they couldn't come and I'd have to reschedule. I already waited almost a week for them (same day appointments my a**), then they show up 7 hours early for the appointment and cancelled on me for not being available. I did reschedule, but with a different company. read more

Fox Pest Control contracted with us for a subscription pest control service. Terms of the agreement were laid out in a contract, but weren't clearly explained to the person home / who signed at the time. We tried several times to cancel the agreement via phone, fax, and text message but Fox refused to honor the cancellation saying that the person who signed the agreement had to call and cancel (this person had Emailed, texted, and attempted to call but gotten no answer - another home owner had called and asked to cancel verbally). Fox claimed this policy of only cancelling via phone when a specific person called was a "security" measure which was obviously ridiculous / it's clearly an attempt to make it difficult to cancel and limit churn. The reason for such a policy is likely because the product is inferior: after multiple treatments over several months (over a year) there was no noticeable difference in quality. When all of this was pointed out, Fox required a $150 cancellation fee (again there are no services to wind down / no legitimate reason for the cancellation fee, it's just a way to extract more money from unhappy customers). Fox claimed a "satisfaction guarantee" which is actually included in the contract but said that that is limited to getting an extra round of the ineffective service (but not enough to waive the cancellation fee for a customer who spent hundreds of dollars and hours trying to cancel a useless service). Very aggressive company trying to extract as much cash as possible with an ineffective policy would strongly recommend everyone avoid them. read more

I do not recommend this company. First, service was not as promised. I was told that the cobwebs and other bug caused sights would be removed, they were not. The technicians were in and out in so quickly that they could not have taken any time to see if there was in fact any bug activity. They placed termite traps to see if these were on the property but I never got a report if there we clean, or if there was an issue. And lastly, when I called to cancel the service, I was charged a $150 dollar cancellation fee. Ridiculous read more

First you ignore my no trespassing signs. Then you disregard the no soliciting signs all at my front door. You show up randomly in the middle of our dinner and continue with the high pressure sales. It takes two men to beat down my wife for a sale??? The first no wasn't enough? The next time you ever step on my property again trying to sell me on something we didn't ask for I will consider it trespassing and call the authorities Not that you need a third strike but in the middle of a pandemic WEAR A MASK!! You lost the sale before we even opened the door and saw two high pressure salesmen NOT WEARING A MASK To summarize, don't show up during dinner time. A Fox representative came to my door soliciting pest control services in a non-solicited 55+ neighborhood. He stated that he was running a pest control special for half-off. I agree to have the home treated for the agreed upon price of $175.00 plus tax. He asked me to sign for the CC charge which was on a electronic device. The following day my home was treated by a Fox representative and my CC was charged the appropriate amount. One month later my CC was charged by Fox for $65. I called Fox and asked them why my CC was charged. They stated that I entered into a contract for Fox Pest Control Services. At no time during the illegal solicitation did the Fox representative mention entering into a contract. I now find out that when he asked me to sign for the CC receipt, my signature was applied to a contract. This is clearly an illegal act by a Fox Pest Control representative preying on the elderly. read more

What I was told over the phone and what we actually got were not the same thing! I carefully explained that we had a bees nest, I told them how high it was off the ground, that it was wrapped around a light fixture. I was then asked the dimensions of the nest, which I gave them. The young man came today and didn't have a ladder, couldn't remove the bees nest completely because it was wrapped around the light fixture, didn't do any spraying at all! I was told when I hired them last week that they would spray and check areas around the house for any problems...he didn't. The leftover mess from the bees nest will now have to be taken care of either by me or my husband! We paid good money and believe we were completely mislead. I cannot recommend them after this experience! read more

I have been using them for a year, mostly for ticks. I'm a frequent, on my knees, gardener and used to get a lot of bites. All last year I had two instead of twenty!! This year the ticks came early, before the first treatment for them.
