What I was told over the phone and what we actually got were not the same thing! I carefully explained that we had a bees nest, I told them how high it was off the ground, that it was wrapped around a light fixture. I was then asked the dimensions of the nest, which I gave them. The young man came today and didn't have a ladder, couldn't remove the bees nest completely because it was wrapped around the light fixture, didn't do any spraying at all! I was told when I hired them last week that they would spray and check areas around the house for any problems...he didn't. The leftover mess from the bees nest will now have to be taken care of either by me or my husband! We paid good money and believe we were completely mislead. I have been using them for a year, mostly for ticks. I'm a frequent, on my knees, gardener and used to get a lot of bites. All last year I had two instead of twenty!! This year the ticks came early, before the first treatment for them. A Fox Pest control salesperson was in my neighborhood and solicited their help with wasps. I agreed and signed up for a year. The monthly spraying didnt seem to affect the wasps at all and after a year I decided that Fox Pest Control wasnt for me. I called in to cancel and was told that the representative couldnt cancel my account and I would be contacted but another employee. This contact never took place. Fox ignored my cancellation request and tried to continue the service, it took multple more phone calls to end the service even after i fullfilled the year contract i agreed too. This is a shady company and I would never do business with them again. read more

Is there a negative rating availabl? Fox Pest control repeatedly shows up on my property after being told to not come. There is no personal service. They leave a voicemail. I call to cancel because I'm not home or won't be home they show up anyways. They have sprayed my vegetable plants with there pesticide. Even though my service is canceled they still show up and spray. They are trespassing at this point and do not care if they are or not! Worst service in Virginia! read more

Knocked on my door and asked me if my neighbors had told me that he would be coming by... I said "No" and he proceeded to tell me that the neighborhood was infested with Carpenter ants, Wasps and some other things and that the neighbors were all getting pest treatments and that if I opted in it would be part of a group rate. I asked if he had any information I could go over with my husband - he didn't (who goes door to door to sell service and has NO material they can give people to look over). I asked which neighbors he had talked to as I am in regular contact with my close circle of neighbors... he started mentioning people 3 & 4 streets away (that I know because I have a relative that lives next door to one of the elderly people he mentioned). I asked who on MY street he spoke to and he told me he hadn't talked to many on my street "Probably because of the rain" (??????) - not sure who them was telling me that he was coming - or who I would be going on the group rate with?? I told him I would talk to my husband and if we were interested we would reach out. He laughed and said "Yeah, it doesn't work that way." so I asked was I able to find "Fox Pest control' online - He said yes, but If I went that way I would pay full rate and not the group rate he was offering.... So let me get this straight. You are coming by my home at 6pm on a rainy Monday evening, telling my that my neighbors have basically agreed to this "Group rate" (though you haven't spoken to anyone on my street) and I need to make a decision at that moment or pay "Full pricing". You have NO paperwork to show me cost savings, what you provide, or exactly what I am agreeing to. And no business card etc. Sounds Like a legit good deal.... SMH I told him If I was interested in anything we would call as I tried to shut the door - as my dinner was burning on the stove and my dog was tying to escape. He says "Since your husband makes all the decisions I will come by and talk with him". I replied "No my husband doesn't make the decisions - we discuss together - and if we are interested we will reach out" and he laughed and said "OK... What is a better time to come by and talk to your husband?" I told him i was not interested and shut the door. I work in Sales - BAD BAD way to handle business. Starting off with a lie was your fist major mistake. Having NO paperwork/information to give people to review - very poor. Expecting to get an agreement with a 5 minute conversation and no info or documentation to what you would be purchasing, agreeing to etc... I could go on and on. Salesperson came to my door 4 times in one day refusing to take no for an answer. High-pressure and this is the second or third time they have come around offering a one time discount for a yearly subscription that is 2 times the going rate for pest services. When I checked Yelp and saw bad reviews, I said "No, and that is my final answer". The salesman stood on my porch for another 1-2 minutes in disbelief probably wondering if he could harass me into agreeing. This is exactly why people put up no solicitation signs....which these creeps would probably ignore. read more

They send pushy sales reps into neighborhoods strongarmingcthem into contracts that they have to pay to get out of! The sales rep makes you think you're only trying the service for $40 you can cancel if you're not happy. They don't say you're signing a contract for a year and it's $150 to cancel! Read the contract! Read the contract! Don't take the living sales report at his word. The goop they put in and around your home is worthless! If yiu call and complain they will robotically repeat scripted policies that states what you need to pay them ! They don't care about customers, all they care about is getting your money every month.. WHETHER THEY COME OUT TO YOUR HOME or NOT! Updated based on response in comments from FOX Pest (07/08) I have been trying to reach someone in Fox and after my approx 8th attempt (after being transferred to RI, CT and one more state; got a call from Fox after 6 PM). And I am also happy that FOX has started to review the issue after my yelp post ! 1) Unlike what was mentioned by the FOX response to my yelp wherein they indicated that the technician would have gone to the wrong house and GPS issues etc, the office verbally admitted to me that the technician never came and that he is no longer with Fox after receiving multiple complaints on his behalf. I would have expected the Yelp comment response by FOX to be consistent with what the office communicated to me. 2) The technician indicated on the job card that he applied normal treatment and not (organic) as paid. This was confirmed by the office to me yesterday and by the technicians who came on Monday. However thats OK since the service was not done. But the concern is that when the job card was filled (status of the job); this should have been caught by FOX and not by me following a casual conversation with the next technician who was confused and asked me if my application is organic or otherwise (based on the previous job card). Fortunately that job actually never happened; but how do I now trust the processes that FOX have in place. Original Review (07/07) I have organic mosquito and pest treatments from Fox. Mosquito is new; but pest I have for a year plus... all organic now due to my wife' being a cancer Survivor .. I was out on a Thursday afternoon working in my yard; I also had a seal coat contractor working on my driveway. I was surprised to see an email from fox telling me that my mosquito treat was done just now ! I never saw him !!! Called customer service who insisted that his GPS location shows him onsite. I offered to even give them the seal coat contractors number. I even asked about the warning sign that they normally keep on yards after an application and the response was that not all technicians do that !!! And finally ... Was offered a service in 2 weeks as government restrictions does not allow another service right away. I wanted to talk to a manager and suddenly 10 mins later get a call informing me that the service can now be done on Monday next (I was unhappy as the 4th of July weekend would now be full of mosquitoes but I kind of said ok) .. Monday I saw a truck pull up and wait at my yard .. I waited for sometime and after around 10 mins they were again pulling away .. I kind of ran out of the house and asked them what's going on. They said that they were going since someone had already applied a treatment last Thursday (maybe I should have waited for the report ...). And I explained to them why they were sent again .. at this point the technicians asked me if I do organic as they were confused .. they told me that the notes say that the Thursday application was not organic even though I pay for organic treatment. At they point I refused service as I was not sure on quality controls within the organization, that was a huge concern to me as we have a vegetable and fruit garden ... I have made 2 calls to fox.. left 2 messages and hopefully will hear back from them .. read more

We had a Fox pest control sales rep come to our house soliciting this afternoon. I respect the hustle it takes to go door to door. However, when my wife opened the door the sales rep started immediately telling her that they would be spraying the house, and that even though we probably have yard pest control, they'd do the house. I was in my home office in a meeting when I heard a mans voice at the door. I put my meeting on hold, went to the window to listen, and heard the sales rep continue to ignore my wife's "thank you, but we already have someone who does our pest control work". After him bullying her for a couple minutes, I told everyone on my meeting that I would be right back, went downstairs to the door so save my wife, and talked to the sales rep. He tried to bully past me as well, and I told him we have 2 companies that we use for yard/irrigation and pest, and named them. He then told me I looked "way to young to own a house like this", and asked me how old I was. I told him I was in the middle of a meeting, and as I started closing the door, he continued to try "selling" me...I asked him to leave so I could get to my meeting and he finally left.
