I am now faced with issues which may or may not be directly related to the unit , but, I am willing to pay. An additional $7000.00 to perform. I scheduled an appointment over one week ago, and confirmed the day before text, the. I am told another client is more important and I need to move my life to another day. We have had a number of issues finding a AC company. Called Fox told them the troubles we have had and that we are looking for someone to service our units. I ask for a quote for maintenance on our units. They give me a price, a really good price. A price too good to be true. I ask why is it so cheap compared to other companies. They can't answer just say "these are our prices" I know our units are dirty as I just took over this place in January and we are yet to find a company to clean the units. So I schedule a day for the technician to come out and service the units.. They're up there for over an hour. They come down and I ask to go over everything They provide me 14 pages of diagnostics and ultimately tell me the units are dirty and we should schedule service request to clean them. I am upset at this point so I call to speak to the office and I get a guy in Florida who says he's with corporate and will look into it... Never hear back and I get an estimate of $4,400 to clean the units. That's insane! The company doesn't actively listen to what consumers need. read more

I work from home. I had a breaker blow and it wouldn't reset. My office was without power, so I asked for same day service. The guy showed up, I showed him the breaker that wouldn't reset, and he replaced it. I asked if both outlets in my office were on the same breaker, and he "volunteered" to tone them out. This is literally putting a power tester in the outlet and popping a breaker for TWO outlets, not 25 feet from the panel. I was missing meetings, and I told him I really needed to get back to work after he spent the few MINUTES it took to find which outlet went to which breaker. When he handed me the bill it was over EIGHT HUNDRED FREAKING DOLLARS. He spent an hour, MAYBE an hour and a half at my house total, and HE USED BREAKERS I PROVIDED!!! For EIGHT HUNDRED BUCKS. Then the tech started the upsell scam: "your panel is old, it should be replaced, but if you have US replace it, we'll discount what you were charged today!" This company is a total ripoff artist. PAID $14,000 for an Lennox system ONLY 2 YEARS AGO. Fox installed and serviced it. Recently, system stopped working and a Fox tech charged us $320 to fix. It stopped working 3 days later, so they came out again. Then, they wanted $3244 to replace the coil. NEVER buy Lennox (look up the class action lawsuit RE coils). NEVER use Fox (I've been pushed up to a "supervisor" 4 times with no resolution, the last one has yet to call). Lennox system's have faulty coils (see Reddit). Fox says they NOW don't use Lennox. (Head scratch) You make the connection. So, all I asked for was a new coil installed (part covered under warranty, 7 yrs left) and a guarantee that if it failed again (meaning I'd pay this time and have seven TX summers to go), Fox would not charge me for labor ($3244...pretty steep price too)...no call back. read more

Our A/C went out and I called Fox Service Company because they had installed it years ago, back when they had a good reputation. Two guys came out and diagnosed a bad inverter/control board and possibly a bad compressor. Both parts are under warranty and free. They offered to fix it for $5,000! You read that right: FIVE THOUSAND for LABOR ALONE for a fix with parts under warranty! (We're talking a dozen screws and six wires max, with a push-button thermostat reboot.) BUT they told me I shouldn't fix it. They instead recommended a replacement A/C because the fix would probably not last. The coil and other things could go bad, they said. (They also tried to upsell a new breaker box and other items.) Quoted price for new A/C? $21,290 -- TWENTY-ONE THOUSAND BUCKS!! To be fair, they did offer to finance it for a total cost of a $33,747.60 (that's $281.23 a month for ten years). So I got a second opinion and Eco Air Conditioning fixed it for $600 -- great outfit! (JBG HVAC was also great -- I recommend both companies). The A/C is now working for 99% less than Fox wanted . . . I will never call Fox again. STAY FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THESE GUYS! read more

Run away as fast as you can. They send skilled techs to sell you an AC then on install day it's two guys who have no clue what they are doing with zero oversight. I've been in a year long battle with them just to get an AC system I spent 32k on with them to actually work and not flood my house with water. Every time it's "we have it figured out" they damage my home cut extra vents leave it filthy and it's worse than the builder system they replaced. The first install they never even hooked up the fresh air vent so it was sucking in outside air non stop until I caught it. Then they admitted they never even installed the control module for it. Drain line was installed poorly and leaked causing water damage. Drain line wasn't insulated and dripped water inside my walls popping breakers. Drain line also caused water damage in a cabinet. I am now 40,000 deep into this and my house can't even hold temp at NIGHT. I'm ready to just cut my losses, hire and attorney and a totally new company at this point. Service contract is worthless too. They came by once turned on my heater to see if it worked and left lol. When I called and notified them in email and phone zero was done. This is a terrible company. They came out to repair my older AC (original, builder's grade) and told me the evaporator was leaking and talked to me about a replacement. I eventually agreed considering the age of my current unit and the various rebates offered (even though I doubted the leak was real). They quoted me for a 2 ton replacement when my original was 2.5 tons. I expressed my skepticism and they said it will be fine, and if it isn't, they'd make it right. This last statement was not given to me in writing (mistake!). Needless to say, the heat of the summer comes and my indoor temp starts climbing once the outdoor temperature hits 94 or 95F. They have been out many times to "repair" a unit that can only be fixed by replacing it with a properly sized unit. They did not perform a heat load on my place, they did not consider that 90% of my unit sits above non-air conditioned garages. They also did not consider that the builder had installed a 2.5 ton unit (which should have told them something). They only considered square footage. Their service manager, Robert, told me at one point that I paid them to cool my place and that's what they will do (also not in writing)... He is impossible to get in touch with. Will not answer phone calls nor respond to emails. At least one of their technicians is a condescending jerk who suffers from the Dunning-Kruger effect (his name starts with a W). Needless to say, there has been no resolution to this issue. I am considering my options, including legal ones. Do NOT do business with Fox Service Company! read more

TL;DR: They broke our AC, and refused to fix it. I have been waiting to leave this review for a good while. I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after receiving YET ANOTHER MAILER after asking to be taken off their advertising list because of our awful experience, I want to speak up. In August of 2024, when temperatures were averaging over 100 degrees, my roommate and I called Fox for some routine maintenance. The repairman somehow deactivated our AC system, leaving it inoperable. I spent about 36 hours chasing Fox, calling over and over again asking for somebody to be sent out. We were two young adults, stuck in a condo that was now over 100° Fahrenheit on the inside, with nothing but a few fans and some ice to help. To put it mildly, the conditions were absolutely unbearable. Fox repeatedly dodged my request. Several times, they said they were sending a technician out, only for nobody to come. When I wasn't told a technician was on their way, I was told that "there are other people that have appointments, we cannot get to you now", even though they broke the AC in the first place. Finally, I was forced to go up into the ceiling unit myself and fumble around until it clicked back on. As it turned out, it was a single switch that the Fox technician somehow turned off and didn't turn back on. A single switch that was hardly marked on the diagrams in the manual, and for somebody with no knowledge of HVAC technology, was impossible to find other than feeling around until something worked. Fox refused to take any accountability for this awful experience. We were told my father (the owner of the unit) would be receiving a call from the general manager... the general manager never called. My father tried to follow up, he was ignored. Clearly Fox didn't want to admit they were wrong, and didn't want to offer any compensation. Nearly a year after the event, we are still getting constant emails and mailers. I have REPEATEDLY told the business that I want to be taken off their mailing list, because they will never get our business again, but once again... they do not listen, or follow through on their promises. If I could rate Fox zero stars, I would. They managed to break our AC on a simple routine visit, and refused to turn it back on, or take any accountability for their mistake. And even after all of that, we still receive advertisements weekly, asking for our business. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. We have two units in our home; the upstairs one, which is still under warranty, began to leak. We called Fox at the direction of the AC manufacturer, after an inspection [by me] identified a leaking coil. Fox came to the house while I was traveling, and met with my wife. They refused to replace the coil under warranty w/o conducting a leak inspection test [750 dollars]; they then proceeded to fill the unit with refrigerant [535 dollars], telling my wife it would last for several weeks, and then said they would be back in approximately two weeks. I spoke to them briefly and indicated that I wanted the coil replaced and that there was no point in putting the Freon in. The service technical, Waylon, indicated that this was the process we had to follow IF we wanted to use the Lennox warranty. Four days later the unit is once again not cooling - all the Freon has leaked out, ten days earlier than the technician indicated. Naturally, we are leaving town and there is now no way to have the coil replaced, and we have spent money that was clearly an utter waste. Frankly, I should have trusted my gut while on the phone - I found Waylon to be brusque, condescending and impolite - and either asked for another service technician, or worked with a different firm. I am now waiting for someone to come to my home and waiting to speak with their service manager. I would be extremely careful with using Fox as my impression is that their services are expensive and that they pad their visits with unnecessary or non-value additions. What ethical and professional service technician would recommend filling an air conditioning unit with a visible leak with four units of refrigerant knowing that it would have to replaced yet again. we chose fox out of several other vendors. we were sold a daikin model and it was installed one day then setup was completed the following day however, it started acting up and, several techs and attempts to troubleshoot later, they said that the inverter board is bad and we now have to wait to get a new one from daikin. the communication to sell was, of course, great but, the installation and repairs communication is horrible. techs say that the daikin has been pushed on them while they are still learning the product and the main office to call seems to not be fully organized to handle or route different issues to the approrpriate person or dept. it took 3 different calls today just to finally get someone to give me concrete answers. ironically, our new ac is broken is we had to buy some room units to keep our home cool while we wait for fox to get our new unit fixed that we are now on the line to pay for!!!!!!!!!!! at this time, i regret going w/ daikin and going with fox!!!!! read more

Fox technicians came out to do the annual maintenance on my AC unit and came back with expensive repairs for a total of 8K and provided me with quotes for a new unit. I was skeptical of the repairs because they have been out every year to do this annual maintenance and some of the things they included this year were not done previously. I suspected they were pricing my repairs high so that I would purchase a new unit. Ironically, the only quote they emailed me was for the new units and not for any repairs. I have had this company out several times for the same issue with my AC unit. Each time they have a new theory on why it's broken and tell me there is no way to test the parts or confirm their guess. They replace things and charge me a bunch of money and it breaks down a week later with the same issues. I paid an extra $200 to be a member but they are always too busy to schedule any of the services that come with being a member. So I have received none of the services they promised with that. They guys got bought out by a bigger company that also owns Daniel's and they are just here to sweet talk you into handing over money week after week and not fulfilling their end of the contract. read more

A very nice young woman from Fox Service Company came out on Thursday October 3rd and gave me a $19K quote for a single stage heat pump that will NOT fit into the space that the existing heat pump air handler exists. Moreover, the quote did not even identify what model they planned to sell. This person took a ton of photos and she spoke to her manager Carlo and they still quoted me something they knew would not fit. Stay away from these people. There were some truthful companies that came out and told me that the existing model is no longer being sold and that virtually all new models are larger and my existing space is too small. The last time they came out, Paul Warburton was our technician and took the time to explain the diagnoses and repairs. Even though we have a home warranty, we will only use Fox for our AC repairs. It is for subsidiary of Fox Service company at 1506 Ferguson Ln, Tx 78754. On 8/26/2024, they came to apartment 2905 Swisher Street to fix the air condition. The fix was simple, just replacing a capacitor for the external unit. The capacitor costs is about $50. They spend about an hour to replace it. They charged me $580 for the total cost. When I asked them to give me a receipt with the break down of materials and labor cost for three times, they refused to do so. Of course, they won't do it. The break down is: capacitor ($50)+ $530 hourly rate. The $530 per hour is pretty goofy. read more

I retuned from a trip to a hot house. The ac was not blowing air through the house. I called Fox and two separate work vans came out. The 2 gentlemen spent time assessing the situation. Finally the news. The system was old and needed several components replaced. Unfortunately, due to the age of a component if they tried cleaning it, it could reveal a leak in the coils and my house would have to be condemned! Repair would be $3,700. If I opted to just replace the furnace, after generous discounts, I would be charged only $6,700. I asked to have quotes sent to me as for that much money, even in Texas heat, I wanted a second opinion. I received a report that called all these areas needing work to prevent failure: water heater, electrical panel, ducting and insulation, and piping. Amazing that all this was flagged as warning because techs never went in the attic to check ducting or insulation. 12 hours later, after 2nd opinion, I am relaxing after paying $650 to replace a capacitor and a control board. This tech within 5 minutes had showed me the burnt part. When I told him oh wow, the last guys didn't show me that. He said, let me guess, they just tried to get you to buy a new one. Exactly what happened. FOX used a lot of sales buzzwords to give them credibility and it felt like they were trying to scare Me into a purchase. read more

we had our coils fixed and the repair and service was great. where this company lacks is communication and follow up. the first tech to come out let us know that they offer financing. he forgot to input that into his notes so when it came time to pay, the second techs didn't have anything showing this and expected us to pay the full amount up front. 30+ minutes later after they called the office MULTIPLE times, they told us someone would follow up OR we could try to apply online, BUT online was finicky most of the time. Well after applying and trying to contact someone they said they'd look into it. Multiple calls each week over a 4 week period and FINALLY Gary calls us. Only to let us know he's charging our card for the full amount. Multiple calls and finally a call back he explained that he never saw our application and that we had other options. Wow. Exactly what we had been calling and asking about for weeks. He said he'd call back and look into this for us. Fox used to be an amazing company; we had used them for decades. But since they got acquired by Southern HVAC, they have been absolutely terrible. Several calls to fix the same issue, worth different diagnosis for each visit. No return phone calls when the problem still isn't fixed. We've had a "priority one" service contact for over 10 years, but it means absolutely nothing. No escalated or expedited calls or customer service. We've literally been without functional AC for 3 weeks and they don't even return our phone calls. We paid several hundred dollars, in advance, for them to order the part they said we needed and then they ghosted us. It's supposed to be 101 degrees later today and absolutely nothing from Fox. We're calling Stan's (recommended by neighbors) and just gonna get a new unit. read more

This was one of the worst experiences I have had as a customer. I specifically requested certain work; they did not even come with the equipment. They just came with a laptop to sell me a new HVAC unit. I could hear them talking outside my office, and see them spending time in my driveway, to seem like they were actually working. Then, without doing any of the requested work, they told me to replace my unit, and it would cost $16,000. I found an actual, amazing HVAC place that is replacing for $8,000. Hard to say how the service is, no show, no call, no email on scheduled day of service. I lost power to one of my condos (fortunately the tenant recently moved out). In a scramble I called Fox because I have seen their trucks. The woman on the phone lacked general intelligence or was very distracted because I had to keep repeating my situation, where the box was, that I was a condo not a home etc. Seems like she also didn't know how to schedule either, or at least someone didn't want to service my job. Owen was very knowledgeable regarding the installation. He explained how the part worked and the purpose for the installation. Owen did the installation in a very reasonable time. After he finished, before he left Qwen asked if I had any questions. I have to start by saying it has been a very long time since I've received this poor of service from a company. We engaged with Fox to get a generator installed on the side of our house. After 18 weeks of that generator being inoperable on the side of our house we have now requested Fox remove that generator and refund our money. Run for the hills please if you ever plan on engaging and working with Fox on anything. To add insult to injury their General Manager is unable to admit he had a typo in my phone number and called the wrong number. I called him on a Wednesday and it took until Saturday to get back to a very unhappy customer. That is as bad as it gets. Truly a shame and just an awful all around experience.
