They earned all five stars. The blue gill and cod fish were perfectly fried. You can get it blackened, grilled, etc. $5 bloody Mary was excellent. I left a glowing review a few months ago but with one caveat. We've been here several times and the quality can be inconsistent. Well...as good as it was a few months ago, we got burned last night. Wife and I got prime rib. You can expect a certain amount of fat in this cut of meat. But these were just full of gristle. I've never had a prime rib that had so much. Very disappointed. Daughter had the Ribeye. She said it was the same way. It was her first visit and wasn't impressed at all. Side salads were very good, even the Caesar. Clam strips were excellent. Not too fried but not mushy either. My Asparagus side cost extra and were way over cooked. We had two appetizers. Crab stuffed mushrooms were really good. Chips and queso was way over priced for the amount that you get. The waitress never asked how our meal was. The place was pretty busy but there was one thing I noticed. Nobody else appeared to be ordering steaks. Everyone got something else. Maybe the know something I don't. A meal that comes to almost $200 for 3 adults and one child should be much better that what we received. Probably won't be back any time soon. read more

Management is failing miserably. Made a reservation for six - showed up on time and took 40 minutes to get seated. Once orders were taken, we waited an hour then started to get impatient. When we conveyed our dissatisfaction to the server she bribed us with bread and comped our [soft] drinks. We waited another half hour to no avail; the server couldn't even tell us how long until our food was ready. She continually apologized stating there were only two cooks working. It's sad the server was negotiating with us to stay as opposed to a manager/owner. I fly home once every two years to visit family and I regret picking this restaurant for a family dinner. Sad to say we ended up walking out. To anyone else willing to try this joint I truly hope your experience is better than ours was. To the management - if you only have two cooks then don't fill every table in your establishment, this is management 101 here, seriously. I suggest never sacrificing your reputation for sales. read more

What a pleasant surprise! This was my first visit and I am NOT disappointed. The crab stuffed mushrooms were excellent; creamy and cheesy and filling! They were my appetizers, but should've been my lunch. However, I also had their cod basket lunch special , which had excellent creamy slaw, generous basket of thin fries and two nicely deep fried cod filets. Asside from one noisy table of patrons, the place was pleasant and not very busy about 2 pm on a Friday. I really liked the decor and the marble-chunked floors. Definitely will return! . read more

Breakfast in the patio... A nice early Saturday morning walk here and sitting on the patio after a short rain fall. The setting was perfect to enjoy a great breakfast. They recently opened for breakfast Mon-Sat at 0700 and right off The Walk of Excellence Trail makes this a new go to for breakfast. I was more than happy with my experience. I ordered the #9, Gatlinburg Shuffle with an added side of hash browns with onions and was served just the way I like, good ol' home cooking! Even the slice of orange was perfect, and I like oranges. Will certainly return, however, next time will ask for only one, smaller, pancake. read more

This is a really cool place. We get to Kokomo occasionally, but were unaware of Foxes Trail. Indoors, it's decidedly an "outdoorsy" them. Decorated in what I'd call a "cabin" style, lots of wood, rock walls, posters, and some stuffed foxed placed around. The meny is mostly what I'd call upscale bar food (but not TOO upscale) with a couple of surprises thrown into the mix. I chose the breaded tenerloin (you're surprised, right?) and it was quite good. The breading was tasty and crisp. I'm not sure it quite pushed into stellar range--I'd preferred a bit more seasoning in the breading, still it's well above average and I'd not hesitate to order it again. My wife had a grouper dish that was again, above average, but a bit bland. Service was great. Overall, a very good experience. Won't hesitate to return. read more

We had visited over the summer and only had a beer so it was nice to have time to come back and visit and eat. We arrived at 1130am and there were two customers seated in the bar side. There was no one on the family side. When we left two hours later, there was a family dining as well as some people now on the bar side. Our server promptly greeted us and told us about the specials. We ordered onion rings for an appetizer and they did not disappoint. For $9 you get a lot of thick, well breaded rings with a nice sauce served with them. I got the hot ham and cheese while others got French Onion soup and the breaded tenderloin. My ham and cheese was just the right temperature and the bread was toasted perfectly. The tenderloin was much larger than the bun and had a nice breading to it. I am told that the French Onion soup was really good. I did not try it. The only drawback to the meal is that the french fries are obviously the GFS/Cisco right out of the bag crinkle-cut fries. If they had some sort of homemade fries or maybe even steak fries, it would add a nice touch. Four people, with an appetizer and no alcohol was right at $50. It was a good dining experience in a building with history (an old ice making plant) and good decorations. read more

I was tired of fast food when visiting family in Kokomo so we went here to celebrate my new job. The interior was ok with table seating, 80's music and dark wood and stone wall. It gave me high hopes for a great experience.We started off with the fried mushrooms appetizer. Typical frozen breaded mushroom. They did the trick. Meals are served with a loaf of bread and cinnamon butter. That was my favorite part. When the food finally came, we couldn't believe our eyes. My plate was ok but I can't believe they let my husband's "prime rib" leave the kitchen. If that was medium, I'd hate to see what their well done is. One end was burnt into literal charcoal. I ordered the Filet Maripaco, cooked medium. It was well done. The shrimp on top were freezing cold as though they had been plucked from an ice bath and thrown on top of the steak. Their special sauce was cheese with imitation crab meat thrown in. Mashed potatoes were boxed for sure and my steamed veggies were veggie mush. I ate my steak because I was starving. We were going to send it back but we were starving and too nervous to send the food back because the attitude of the staff made us worry about retaliation (like the movie Waiting). We won't return and it makes me sick that we spent $80 with terrible food, 2 Diet Cokes and tip. I would have rather burnt the money to the char like the steak was. read more

One of the waitresses here, Leah, is clearly very intimidated by other women because she spent the evening making jabs at me for being there with two of my male friends. I'm really pretty, so I get it, but dang girl, it's not that deep. She followed us outside and said that I stole a drink.... all my drinks were paid for and the only thing in my hands were my phone and keys. She claimed she had bad eyesight when she realized I had not stolen a drink. Same thing she said when my friends burger was RAW but oh okkk. Leah, girl, get some self confidence. We love the atmosphere in this restaurant. There's a lot going on visually and is super family friendly. It's close to the walking trail so you can walk off some of those calories after dinner! They have a lot of menu options. The steaks have always been excellent and the portions are large. It can be a bit noisy on the weekends, sometimes hard to hear the conversation at your table when sitting in the bar. read more

First time visit. Was highly recommended by a friend. They told us that they had the best prime rib that they ever had. Wow! Bold statement in our opinion. So we took their recommendation for a Friday night Prime Rib run. Good parking. Good looking grounds and building. Pretty cool interior. Seated us immediately. Place was pretty full already. Waitress came immediately. Ordered drinks. Those came immediately. Ordered the prime rib with sides. Another drink with the bread. Dinner came pretty quickly as we finished a decent house salad. Within 6 feet my wife looked at the approaching plates and then looked at me with a "puzzled " look on her face! Then I noticed it!! The prime rib had heavy grille market on it, in a # pattern! WTF... GRILLE MARKS. Well we gave it a try. Cooked as requested. Very flavorful, not too fatty. Pretty good taste. Funny thing though. Both cuts were the exact same shape. So, are we nuts or what? We're these a pretty cut, cooked, offerings from a food service, supply house that the restaurant just heated up from a frozen state??? Here it is. Not really what we're expecting for the $23 plate price, expecting the REAL thing. Over all an OK meal. Service was great. Will we come back again? Yes, BUT not for the "Prime Rib". Had crab stuffed mushroom appetizer $9 which was very good. Both ordered a cocktail then our salads came. You know the cheap bags of premade lettuce you get in the grocery store? That's what you get with a few tomatoes thrown on top w bottled dressing To pay $30 for a steak and have that nasty salad really runs a nice meal. How about fresh lettuce w a slice of onion tomatoes maybe cucumbers & some croutons? Would have made a huge difference and probably wouldn't cost them as much. I put it aside and even though my NY strip was excellent, the waiter excellent, but for $100 meal I expect nice salad and fresh sides. We wont be back. Great atmosphere and wonderful service. The food did not disappoint either. The French Onion Soup is outstanding as was the burger. My wife got the grouper bites and they were amazing. This was a great little pit stop on a road trip. Friendly staff, great food and a unique atmosphere. We actually found it using Yelp and trying to find a non-chain restaurant in the area. I definitely recommend Foxes Trail! I had the Grouper sandwich and it was excellent and HUGE. Fries and Tatar sauce were tasty too. I'm always happy to visit this place. All of the employees that have helped us here have been kind and helpful. The food is always fresh and delicious when we come here on lunch. In town for a baseball tournament. My son and I went for dinner on a busy night. Our waitress did a great job managing a table of 12 along with her other tables and us. The service was incredible. We both ordered steaks and sided. We are from Chicago, we are used to some great steakhouse's. We did not have prime beef, but our filet's were good cuts and prepared perfectly. With the price of beef so expensive, I was pleasantly surprised to see how reasonably priced everything is. We came back our second night in town with most of his 16u baseball team. Food was excellent once again and the service was impeccable. We were all very pleasantly surprised to find such a good restaurant. read more

This place is amazing!!! I can't believe it's been open for 4 years and today was my first visit! The restaurant itself has great decor, industrial. The wait staff and owner are very attentive. Our server Chelsea H. was really good and friendly. Ok, now to the important stuff, the food! Everything and I mean everything was awesome! I had the crab stuffed mushroom appetizer, so good. For dinner I had the fried breaded tenderloin sandwich , I've had many in my day, this was top notch. I ordered the beer battered hand dipped onion rings, also the best I've ever had! Hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there tonight. I had the bourbon chicken, and it was delicious! The portion was huge, and it contained a lot of extremely tender chicken. My house salad was large and very tasty, the bread was warm, and the cinnamon butter was divine. Hubby had the chicken tenders (again, a very generous portion), a Caesar salad, and the baked sweet potatoes. Everything was tasty, and the portions were so large that we brought home enough for either lunch or dinner tomorrow! We received top-notch service, food, and value. Today he ordered from FT and because he got busy he was late picking up his order and his fries were beyond cold. The manager noticed and asked him to wait because those fries were unacceptable. Decided to visit Foxes Trail after a recommendation. They do have steaks but the atmosphere of a steak house is missing. On the other hand the steaks are a lot less from a high end steak house. My bone in New York was good but served a little cold and Of course there's absolutely no reason for that. With very limited choices in Kokomo Foxes Trail will do. read more

We were excited to eat here tonight, wish we hadn't. We got there early & sat right down. Wait staff was prompt & Courteous. The menu was a laminated piece of legal paper with terrible scratched in corrections & such. It's pretty pricey for very unexciting fare. The cheapest app was queso & chips-$9?? The cheapest sandwich was a plain burger-$8.50. Steaks had BETTER be good given the prices. We got iced tea (INSTANT iced tea. You only get 1 refill on $2 soft drinks!) and the Italian roast beef sandwich-$9.50. The slice of provolone cheese made it Italian. The watered down au jus was necessary for dipping the rather dry beef in. Btw, slys fries are just steak fries. If you're gonna NAME your fries I mean give them some effort. Wasn't terrible but other entrepreneurs are trying much harder for my dollar than this place. 1 star for the wait staff. read more

My daughter took me out to Lunch. We chose this Resturant, because we had heard it was ran by the same people that had, gad a Resturant in another town. Parking lot was full, but there was ample parking. We were seated quickly. Waitress very friendly but busy took about 10 minuets for drink order to be placed and we were only offered a lunch menus and had to ask for dinner menus. We both ordered steaks and we wanted baked potToed but they were not available till after four. SaLad was our other side. SaLad was excellent as were the steaks. A little pricy 26.00 each for steaks. Took half of it home with me. My husband had the pork chop and he said the flavor was very good. Just the right amount of juiciness to it but he could have had a few more French fries with it. We ate here for the first time tonight. I had the fried bluegill and Annette had the grouper, broiled. Both main courses were quite good and with very generous portions. The bluegill filets were crispy and nicely seasoned. The grouper was seasoned well and cooked to perfection, although lacking any kind of sear. The tartar sauce sadly was out of a jar and mediocre at best. I would gladly have paid more for fresh made. Fortunately I was able to use the extra butter my wife had instead. For sides I had salad with blue cheese and the wild rice. The salad was nothing special but edible with a so so quality dressing and the wild rice/white rice mix was cooked properly and also edible but could have used some seasoning/spices. Her sides were the small baked potatoes and the green beans. Both were good but unexceptional. Finally, the service was quite acceptable, prompt, courteous and attentive. To summarize, I consider the meal slightly above average in quality due to the excellence and abundance of the entrees, but overall the experience was not up to par given the mediocre sides and the total price of around $45 we spent.
