Our server, Caidence, was friendly, but she seemed completely unaware of what was going on throughout our meal. When we were settled we were the first table in her section, and she only had three tables total (our party of 5, a party of 4, and a 2-top), yet she seemed very overwhelmed. We waited around 15-20 minutes just to place our order while it seemed she took care of the other two tables first. From there, there were multiple mistakes. While setting food down, the strings from her bracelet dragged right across my steak. I didn't want the kitchen to have to remake my steak because of her, so I didn't make a big deal out of it. But it's something a server should be aware of. As she was still taking our order, we changed one side from fries to a baked potato. She said no problem and that she'd fix it, but the food still came out with fries. We had to ask for several items that were missing, and it took around 10 minutes before she returned with them. Only then did she acknowledge the baked potato after we brought it up. The biggest issue was the Sirloin Sydney Salad. The menu describes it as fresh mixed greens, arugula, cucumbers, tomatoes, bacon, pepitas, blue cheese crumbles, balsamic glaze, and steak. The only modification requested was no balsamic glaze, with the tomatoes, bacon, pepitas, and blue cheese on the side. Instead, the salad came out as a bowl of iceberg lettuce with about four cucumber slices and the steak on top. There were no mixed greens, no arugula, and none of the requested toppings on the side. After we had pointed it out to her, she eventually brought a small condiment cup of arugula and another with pepitas, after we were basically finished eating. The arugula was soggy, and the rest of the missing toppings never came. Paying around $22 for what was essentially iceberg lettuce and steak was very disappointing. Some of the blame certainly falls on the kitchen, but as a former server myself, I know it's also the server's responsibility to notice when a dish is obviously incorrect before bringing it to the table and to have it fixed. There were simply too many mistakes, and there seemed to be very little awareness of what was happening. Despite everything, we still left a decent tip because we eat out often and generally tip well. If I had been dining alone, though, this would have been one of the few times I felt a 10% tip was more appropriate. One final disappointment was that someone in our party ordered a sweet potato and was told they were out because they had used them all throughout the week. This was on a Sunday. It seems like a restaurant should plan inventory well enough to have a basic side item available through the weekend. Sadly i had chicken lol it was good but the poor server was untrained (blame poor management not the young girl). Extremely poor service (mistakes, confusion etc etc). Three Steaks and You are Out! We were looking forward to this dining experience based on previous experience, albeit at other Outback restaurants. We understand any help at a restaurant is hard to find these days; especially good help. Given that, this outing was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences outings we have ever had. We walked into the restaurant. We were the only ones in the lobby. The hostess said, "Just a minute." So, we sat down on the couch. The hostess then proceeded to seat three other groups who arrived after us. After ten minutes, my spouse walked toward the hostess, and the hostess immediately found an open table. Interestingly, the restaurant was only about half full. The waitress asked for our drink order. We waited another fifteen minutes. When we then saw the waitress and asked about the drinks, she said, "Oh, yeah," and left to retrieve them. The food came. One ordered hamburger had cheese on it. No big deal. We scraped off the cheese. One medium-well steak was oozing lots of blood. We sent it back. Minutes later, the manager personally delivered another steak and asked us to cut it. This steak was more rare than the first one. We sent it back, too. We waited another fifteen minutes. Another employee (not the manager) came by with the third steak but never said a word, like, "Sorry for the wait" or "Please try this one." She left the steak and disappeared quickly. The third steak was as black as a pair of polished Florsheim wingtip shoes on Sunday morning. Unappealing would describe the third steak. We asked for some ketchup to moisten the steak since Outback does not provide any steak sauce at the table. After ten minutes, the waitress brought two ketchup containers. The problem was the steak had already been eaten. We saw the manager comp a meal next to us minutes later. She stayed away from us like we had the plague. TL;DR Skip this Outback and go to Foxes Trail, Marble, or even Texas Roadhouse. When you see an Outback with zero wait at dinner time on a Thursday, that's not a good sign. We were promptly greeted and seated, and got another prompt greeting from the bar server. We ordered our drinks, he forgot my lime and walked it to the table between his fingers and dropped it in my glass. The bread was warm and soft. Our blooming onion was over cooked, our salads were overdressed and the lettuce was wilted and tasted off. It felt like they were trying to mask the obviously bad lettuce with extra dressing. When coming for the full salad bowls that were pushed to the end of the table our server asked if something was wrong. We told him the salads were swimming in dressing and the lettuce tasted bad. He didn't ask if we wanted replacements, just asked if we wanted him to take them away. When taking the bowls behind the female bartender in the Purdue jersey loudly asked "What was their deal?" and he responded "They complained about the dressing." and she rolled her eyes. Nice. We ordered the filet and lobster with mixed veggies. The filet was perfectly medium rare and the lobster was tasty. The mixed veggies were so undercooked they were left uneaten. The 12 ounce prime rib was definitely more well done than the medium that was ordered. The texture of the steak was gross and it was gray in places. We paid for a "premium" side: asparagus, which was practically raw and also inedible. It was like biting into a carrot. The meal was definitely not worth the $85. During our time there an employee who was in uniform and on the clock was sitting at the bar visiting with two friends and watching videos on her phone with the volume turned up so loudly you couldn't hear the music playing in the bar. Skip this place and go to Foxes Trail or Marble. The food is far better, is about the same price, and the customer service is definitely superior. read more

In November 2024, my Wife and I went and went to outback steak house from Kokomo Indiana. We ordered two Ribeye steak dinners from the takeout. We asked for well done in the middle steaks. We don't often think to eat at Outback. In fact, tonight we came when the wait at Texas Roadhouse was too long. Texas' loss is our gain! We need to think of this more often. It's a bit pricier, but still worth it. There was also a wait here, but two bar seats opened up just as we walked in. They were quick to bus and clean the table. The server came and got drinks quickly. Food came out hot and pretty quickly. Chicken on the Barbie was pretty good, but the piece of chicken was so inconsistent in size (really thick one in, tapered to thin at the other) so it didn't cook evenly. The thick end was juicy and perfect, the rest was a bit over done. The salmon was very good. Very friendly and quick service, despite being very busy. We had a great meal! read more

Unfriendly hostess. We stopped for dinner with our grandsons. As we walked in there were a dozen people waiting while the restaurant was less than half full. I went to the hostess to sign up and she informed us it would be 15-25 minute wait. I asked what for and the reply was that's what the computer says. I said well the restaurant is mostly empty and there is plenty of room to seat all of us. Nope need to wait. Finally went inside the take out door to find our order sitting there and the take out employee taking a different order outside to that customer! Majorie or Gabby- I'm not sure which manager should be held accountable for our poor experience this evening. Far too many people were seated for how much the kitchen seemed staffed. Our waitress was doing the best she could given the circumstance.(Haley) We had an hour and a half before we had to leave for our evening engagement, sadly that wasn't enough and we had to get the food to go after waiting 40 minutes after getting our appetizers. The manager so kindly bagged up our food, but offered nothing in the way of an apology for our inconvenience. She did say 'you wanted your food bagged up - here ya go" and hustled away to avoid any conversation. Frozen VIRGIN daiquiri in a pint glass for $6.50? You kidding me? At least dress the glass with something! A straw is all we got. Dinner salads were average. 6oz sirloin, Aussie fries and coconut shrimp - well cooked steak but a bit too much butter added . Shrimp were perfect. Fries are nothing special, but the portion size is small. Fries are dirt cheap people!!! The portion should be large. Its a filler food like bread. Cmon man!?!?! 12oz ribeye and baked potato- Tater was basic industry standard. Steak was Waffle House quality...and fatty, not marbled, over buttered. At least it was cooked to medium and my dog ate well with the 6+oz of scrap meat i took home. Waste of $22 in my opinion. Carrot cake - Got this to go. For $7.99 each, its not impressive, but ok. Icing is very sugary thick, not a true cream cheese taste. Bottom center of the cake was slightly under cooked and "wet" rather than moist. Again, the dog ate well. $65 birthday dinner was 1/2 @$$ at best. But it gets better boys and girls! So time to pay, and i used my gift cards. I don't know why this restaurant has only a 2.5 star rating. I give it a 5 because our meal and service was outstanding today. Gabby was our server and she was friendly, efficient, professional, and just perfect in every way. She even asked if there was any topping we wanted to leave off of our salads. Thoughtful! The salad bowls were cold, and the lettuce crisp...the way a salad should be served. The bread was warm, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with real butter. The appetizer of aussie fries served with an ample bowl of ranch dressing was the best we've had at any Outback. The coconut shrimp was perfectly prepared and we were accommodated with regular shrimp sauce, as we don't particularly like the marmalade sauce that normally comes with it. Oh, and if you're and iced tea drinker, Outback has the best! We didn't have an entree today, but if we had I know it would've been scrumptious judging by everything else we had. The atmosphere was very relaxing and overall we were very pleased with our Outback experience today. We will definitely be visiting the Kokomo Outback more often. read more
