This time when I came to Foxy's the wait was long and when the omelette finally arrived (garlic chicken, mushroom, and Swiss cheese) the chicken tasted like it had been in the fridge for a long time. I believe I am unusually sensitive to the taste of old chicken so it may not be as bad for anyone else. The home fries also seemed "off". I will probably think twice before trying again, unfortunately. read more

Went there on Friday morning at 9am. Got served at 10am. Biscuits were dense and hard. Kind of reminded me of the white bread we would get in C-Rations. Hash browns were a thin layer and fried to a crisp. They all stuck together. Gravy was O.K. Sausage was a pretty thin patty and cooked too much. I am so frustrated right now.. we've been here an hour, waiting a long time between each step of the process. My husband, who usually takes everything in stride, has also left a scathing review on their website. We've not gotten food yet, so not sure if we will even stay to find out if it's good, at least one thing we can feel positive about. The only positive experience for breakfast was our waitress. We sat in a booth for the ocean view but my sight was drawn to the large amount of dry rot on the window frame right next to our table. One of the booth bench seats had a huge piece of foam missing. This used to be an upscale venue and it was sad to see what it has become. We do not usually eat breakfast out but Foxy's was suggested by someone we knew. Sadly we invited out-of-town guests to join us there. All of this could be overlooked if the food was good. Always slow, items frequently come late, constant slow service. They have a note as your walk in, be patient, we are doing our best. But, there are so few choices in Brookings, so they stay open. read more

They just moved to the beach, across from Beachfront Inn. 2nd day in new location. Was packed! Had their special vegetable/chicken soup, WITH yellow squash, zucchini and mushrooms. Delicious broth!! And sourdough burger with cajun fries. Only place in town with affordable steaks!!Salad bar. Trying their Monte Cristo sandwich next. Affordable breakfasts for Seniors ($9) Tons of parking. Food is consistently good. Good service for as many customers the staff has to tend to. Only place I can order grits. Coffee cup always full

Arriving in the restaurant, greeter was subpar. Not friendly or welcoming. Floor, booths, and tables were all dirty and falling apart. Salad bar was basic, but not bad. No drink, kids, or senior menu. Fried food was good, nice portions. Overall not my favorite but not horrible either. read more

Foxy's is definitely a little gem in the town of brookings. The food there never disappoints. I am a personal fan of the chicken fried steak and eggs. But every time I branch out, I am always happy with my choice. Jamie and her staff are great people. They really make you feel like you are part of the family. And give you that classic diner experience. As an added bonus, their location has a beautiful view of the ocean. It can get busy with tourists during the summer, but the wait is worth it. read more

Pretty disappointing! Everyone said to try the breakfast here so I took company from out of town here, only to be disappointed.... The service was horrible. From the wait time to get drinks and food, and no offer to refill coffees, no asking if we wanted anything else. Then when she brought the check, we had to wait to pay for a considerable amount of time. The food was fine. So I guess if you have two or three hours to kill for breakfast, give it a try. Food is good, service is excellent, nice view from the booths by the windows. I highly recommend their hash browns. We were camping in the RV park across the street and walked over, it was good so we went back the next night and tried for a 3rd night but they close at 2:00pm on Sundays and closed on Mondays. read more

The ribeye ordered was more like a pounded chuck, and it was over seasoned. Great place that's right by the ocean. Plenty of seating and they have specials on Friday and Saturday. Fish and chips are probably one of the best! Service can be a little slow at times due to short staffing. Very affordable place to eat! read more

Service not so good. We were seated fairly quickly with menus and coffee. Then the wait. 10 minutes before our order was taken. Another 20 minutes to get our food. No refills on the coffee even though it was apparent our cups were empty when the food was delivered. Sat there eyeing the wait staff for a refill on the coffee while we ate our breakfast. Finally the owner brought over some coffee for a refill. When the waitress came to check on us 10 minutes after our food was delivered, I asked if I could get the English muffin that should have come with my breakfast - she apologized and brought it out a few minutes later. Foxy's wasn't that busy when we were there so I wouldn't contribute that to the very slow service. I think they need more people - like someone to bus tables and more wait staff. The food was good. This place is hit or miss, we went for dinner and the as soon as youbwalk in there is a sign saying to be patient the waitresses are trying their best which is not unreasonable but is a red flag....there is a reason they have customers that get impatient. Dinner was great and we had a great waitress. Decided to go there for breakfast and the experience was the complete opposite. The young lady who showed us to the table did not make eye contact, didn't say hello walked by a table pointed at it and said there you go. Basic diner food. Large portions. The burger had a good bit of meat and the bacon wasn't too thin. It tasted alright, and worth it for the price. My food had a mistake but this is their third day open, so it isn't surprising. My burger still tasted pretty good. Big menu for a ton of options. I will have to try their breakfast, I think that might be what they shine all. I think this place will be a good alternative to Matties for breakfast. The staff was very nice as they navigate the opening. Its still a little unfinished but it looked like they had quite a bit of business. People are excited to try the new place. read more

This is a great restaurant for any meal:breakfast, lunch or dinner! Food is consistently great, plates are loaded with food. Taste is always super! Service is superb, although patience is required during this busy tourist season. We enjoy the relaxed wait as we enjoy the view of Sporthaven Beach. read more

We dealt with three gals, the two up front are rude and incompetent, the rude one will yell when she talks to you and seems pissed off. There is an unnecessarily long wait for a table because they seat whoever is standing closest to the front counter. The third lady we encountered was our waitress named, Jamie, and she was great! We explained the situation, she was very understanding, and took very good care of us! The food was so good with large portions it's worth giving it another shot! read more

The new location and building are great! The food is very good. The staff are just not very friendly.

Honestly, the food was great. Once we got it. We had to get up to get someone to take our order. They say seat yourself anywhere but then ignore you. Most frustrating dining experience I've had in ages. The server also forgot some of our food, said she would be back with it and never came back, then didn't take it off the bill. read more

Our poached eggs were perfection, the hash browns were crispy, the bacon cooked just right, and the biscuits and gravy were the best we ever had (and I make a mean biscuit and very tasty gravy), Theirs was better than everybody else's (even mine) and we've been going to breakfast all over the country for 46 years or more.
