Normally I'm pretty easy going about stuff but this night was disappointing. I don't blame the server at all. Lasagna was cold and was not comped and they offered wine in place and then forgot about it. I never got my salad and when we approached management they were to say the very least, apathetic, almost threatening, like, I challenge you to complain all the while the owners are standing there as if nothing could possibly be wrong. Okay, I am re-writing my review after a recent visit and downgrading this place. I will start with the only reason it got a four which is that I really liked the outdoor atmosphere here and the fact that it's byob. Almost all of the seating is outdoor at tables with wooden benches and there are trees all around and a live band. Food: We sat inside cause I was starving and didn't want to wait 45 min for a table. The ground along with our table, pizza dish, and wine glasses shook every time the waitresses walked by (which was often).We got a brushetta app that was not so hot. Warm bread with tons of cold sliced tomatoes on top and the whole thing has been drenched in balsamic vinegar. Just waay to sour tasting to me. The sampler pizza is good for something different (really liked the one with bacon and potato as well as the one with chicken and nuts). Another time, I got the margherita which had waay too little sauce. I remembered liking their apple pie a la mode but, after ordering it found it to be utterly average. The bill came out to be about 55 dollars for a pizza (23), 5 dollar corking fee, 8 dollar appetizer, and 8 dollar desert. I guess I just prefer pizza with lots of cheese and lots of sauce and this place just makes all sorts of artsy and pretty good but, not great pizzas. Different yes, great no. read more

Went for lunch, our server was funny and polite. Quick service, hot pizza. We had a build your own with pepperoni, Italian sausage, and meatballs. Gotta say, the meatballs were really good. Only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is that for two 15" pizzas and an 8" pizza the ticket was just over $50. Granted, there were five of us but it was a bit pricey. We went in yesterday for lunch and it was awesome! We ate outside and found it very pleasant. We had a pepperoni pizza which was the best pizza we've had in San Antonio yet, hands down. Freshly homemade dough and thin. I had a greek salad which was fresh and delicious. Our water said he could make us some cheesy bread for the kids and it was AWESOME! Not on the menu but it should be! And we got an order of bruschetta, by accident, and it was SO good! We could tell the bread was homemade which was an extra special treat. We would def order it next time. We loved it here and it's great for kids. It also helped that our waiter was very nice and efficient. read more

Hands down the best pizza joint in town! You have to try their pizza sampler where you choose your own 4 "fancy" pizzas and they create you a sampler! I have to say their plain cheese pizza is also really good! Byob is also a plus. read more

Very limited inside seating but quaint with nice feel. House salad was very fresh and crisp but disappointed in spaghetti and meatballs. Sauce was watery and lacked authentic taste. This was our first time here and man that is some awesome pizza! The cheese and crust were the real stars of the show....very high quality, reminded me of the pizza we got when we lived in New Jersey. This place is a gem. It's got a laid-back hill country Texas vibe and excellent food. We ordered the sampler pizza -- 16 mini slices reflecting the wide variety of their offerings. If you want damn good pizza that you can write home about , go somewhere else. This is by far is the sorriest attempt of pizza I have had in 45 years. At least is was expensive. 3-2 topping pizzas 1 tea and 4 waters =$83 before tip. Got me once but I share my experiences and won't ever go back. Maybe they serve something good but it ain't pizza. Look at my pic. The jalapeño dwarfs the pizza . The jalapeño looks gigantic but it's really normal size, it's the pizza that's paper thin. Just look at this pizza, how could anyone defend its appearance. No sauce no cheese and no flavor. It was like eating a stale saltine cracker. The pizza is so thin my camera had a hard time focusing on it. Comical if it wasn't the most expensive pizza I've ever ate. 4 of our 5 left hungry. Loved this place. It reminded me a bit of La Tuna. I actually like the outdoor space of Fralo's a little better. The live music was a great touch to the rustic atmosphere with the picnic tables, string lights and huge fans. We had a rather large party and we brought our own wine ($5 fee per bottle). The bruschetta was soooooooo tasty!!! We got the sampler pizza (traditional was my favorite and I'm NOT a picky eater!)....very good. My only complaint was that it took a verrrry long time for us to get our food. Even the appetizer. Also, the waitresses weren't the friendliest, but not enough to deter me. We've had them deliver to our work a couple of times and their pizza is pretty good, thin crust with a great selection of toppings. Salads are too. Can't comment on the place itself but I've driven by and it looks nice. The outdoors look like they would be really nice to relax and enjoy some pizza. read more

We went yesterday night and was sooo busy but the food was amazing. We ate most of the appetizers, all on pint. Loved the calamari and the bruschetta. The salads were amazing too. Update on my experience with Fralos..ordered a pizza to go tonight and brought it home to find it completely over cooked. Called the manager and he said the oven was too hot....was told I could come back and pick up another. I'm surprised that an establishment like this can't seem to get it right! read more

All the other reviews describe it quite well. They have some amazing pizzas and its a great place to chill outside with a few (6 or 8) friends. We brought a full sized cooler packed with 2 bottles of wine, and roughly 36 beers and they charged a total of $20 for cork fee, which I feel was appropriate. Fralo's was suggested to me by one of my coworkers, I went and loved it. The pizza was good, but it could have been better (hence the 4 starts & not 5), but the best part is you can bring your own wine, they just charge a $5 corking fee, which is reasonable. Sampler pizza woes. We usually are able to have the "sampler pizza" with no meat on any style. (There are not four selections that are vegetarian friendly.) the server informed me that they "no longer make modifications on the sampler pizza." I asked her if this was a new policy (I have come for years and ordered the same sampler pizza with no meat) and she then stated that, "It was always the rule, but servers will do it and I have worked in the kitchen. They CAN do it but since I'm from the kitchen I know it can be confusing." So it can be done but it's too confusing for the kitchen? At that point she informed us that we could order a 15" pizza with changes. Yet when our order arrived, the pizza still came out incorrectly. To top it off, other members of our party were left without water or wine glasses and overall it wasn't the Fralo's experience I would like when celebrating a friend's birthday. I won't let this one bad experience ruin my favorite pizza place in town but I will be nervous on how I am treated on future visits. read more

I have been eating here for years now, mainly for lunch. Their pizza is awesome, but why limit yourself to that. Try the cannelloni with some creamy basil pesto, or their tortellini with either the pesto or the Sun dried tomato sauce. My wife and I love the pizza and always have a good experience sitting outside. But, this is the fourth time I've picked up a to-go order and been treated rudely. So I ddciddd to try this place being it's right down the road from where I live. I waited 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. The owner said he would bring me a bud light and some mineral water. Yeah, got my bud light like 30 minutes later and my tap water without lemon 30 minutes later. The service was far from even decent. I've been in Customer service my whole life, not sure who has trained these individuals but it's far from professional and efficient. But, honestly I wish I could have given them at least a three maybe... a four star. "Be honest with us Mr. Restaurant owner, a $22.00 to 26.00 thin crust pizza"! This constitutes a much lesser price and you know it. This is unheard of pricing for this type of atmosphere. For anyone reading this review, don't get me wrong the pizza was very good and unique ( you gotta try the Pear pizza and the Margarita, very tasty) but like I mentioned thin crust, not enough ingredients around the edges, a medium size pizza that was barely enough for my wife, our two children and myself. Usually and quite frequently our visits to Grimaldi's Pizzeria always involves bringing home leftover pizza, which we love because I feel I'm getting a good size pizza for a good price and the kids love it because they get to eat pizza the next day. Let alone free advertising when the neighbor sees me throwing away the box the next day. Anyway, the atmosphere at Fralo's is mostly outside on hard wooden benches. I felt as though the bus boy never cleaned the table we sat at, the tables are made of hard wood and are porous so they absorb any grease or spilled drinks. The tables were not very attractive to say the least. (A nice white table cloth would be a quick fix to this.). The bathrooms are unacceptable, they need a larger area for his and hers. That would fix the sharing and waiting time. This was our first visit and please don't misunderstand me I liked the place, but, would I go back? Probably not. A pizza that's over priced and a not so well thought out atmosphere. Again, the place is just fine if I'm paying less for food, but I'm not paying $26.00 for one item and an outside atmosphere. read more

Management has no desire or care to make it better, and every time you order a pizza for delivery expect it to take 1.5 hours longer than they actually tell you. Even when you dine in the servers just don't even care. When people on this review say they like the "laid back atmosphere", that actually means that the service is just awful.
