I stopped in here between appointments and had a couple of slices to stay. I wound up ordering a Sicilian slice and a regular slice with a Snapple to drink. I came in around 4:30 and it wasn't crowded. I surprised as the pizza seemed like older slices that were made earlier in the day. They tasted good enough but came nowhere near the slice I had there the first time. Maybe it's the timing of when I came in but nonetheless my slices were adequate. I gave them a solid 5 stars!! don't know why the overall rating is 3 1/2 stars overall other than most of the 3 stars or less reviews are more than 2 years old. Some are 5 to 7 years old. Hopefully all the regulars will get on Yelp and write some positive reviews. This restaurant is located around the corner from my favorite jeweler Gelber & Mundy in Great Neck. Francesca's had a lot of customers coming in and out on a Friday afternoon which was a good sign. Both businesses were featured in the news as outstanding businesses and the owners were interviewed. The first thing you notice is how welcoming the entire staff is. They did not know me or that I was great friends with their neighboring store until I told them when I was leaving. The restaurant is very clean, they were constantly cleaning, the employees were wearing masks, the food was protected behind glass. They have a great selection of pizza, calzones, sandwiches, hero's, soups, salads pasta, burgers, chicken dishes and deserts. Prices are very fair, we had the chicken Cacciatore pizza which I've never seen before, and Zucchini vegetable pizza. These were the size of 2 regular slices and only cost $6 each. They were AWSOME and I have not seen this type of pizza offered anywhere else. I was surprised there were reviews saying the prices were high. They also pride themselves on their deserts. They feature, Tiramisu, Cheesecake, Mango Mousse and Carrot Cakes. The best part was when I was leaving I met Sal who I believe is the owner and you can see how genuine he is and how much pride he takes in the business. I love seeing a "hands on" business owner. I told him how I came across his pizzeria and he said "I want to have you taste David's favorite bread" He give me. Bag with 2 large home made rolls(see photos) in my review. I had never mentioned I was writing a Yelp review up to that point. He is just a man who really cares about his customers. The entire staff was friendly and extremely polite. I will definitely be back, highly recommend them and there pizza compared with some of the best places in Brooklyn which most people think is one of the top places for pizza. read more

Super friendly mom and pop pizzeria across street from LIRR station. The owner was extremely nice and even introduced me to his son. I accidentally stumbled upon this due to another nearby pizzeria being closed and shame on me, I should've found this much much sooner. We decided on the Margarita pie......omg it's insane good and fresh. Huge slices of both tomatoes and mozzarella covered the entire pie. The crust was absolutely perfect with bite. They have definitely raised their prices, but their pizza is still great. My favorite pasta of all time is found here at this local little pizza joint - it's bow ties with fresh tomatoes, onions and artichoke hearts. YUMMY. Great heroes with free roasted potatoes included. Sweet, personable service. The guys behind the counter make you feel at home. They're pretty proud of their pizza rustica, so I decided to give it a go. It's very comforting, has a ton of mozzarella and basil, and very fresh. I enjoyed the crust, too - not thick at all, but not so thin that it's flimsy. They have a ton of Italian options for cheap. Quality is similar to what you'd find in the city, for affordable prices. Good amount of seating in a convenient location. No Persians at all, even though it's right in the heart of Great Neck. Francesca's has the best regular slice in Great Neck and one of the best that I've had on Long Island. Their 2 regular slice and a soda lunch deal for $7 and change is in my opinion a very good value as well. From what I understand their soups are very good and are a popular item. Our first visit here and wishe it was closer as we would definitely go again. we were there for a swim meet at USMMA and after meet we were all hungry so search for an Italian place and found Francesca's . what an amazing little place. I don't leave reviews often unless it's necessary...Ordered a large pie for delivery. Comparable to a Lunchable. Sauce was extremely sweet, cheese looked and felt like it was made of rubber, and overall made me feel like crap after eating a few slices just so I wasn't hungry anymore and then threw the rest away.... Don't think I've had a worse pie, and I'm from California so that's saying a lot. I've been coming here since I was a small child, and I've been to many Italian restaurants, both on Long Island and elsewhere. I can say with full certainty that no place has made me feel at home like Francesca's. I've eaten many items on the menu here, including the Pizza Rustica (pictured below), the spaghetti and meatballs, regular slice, Sicilian, etc.... Everything here is delicious, and they use some of the best ingredients around. There aren't many places where I can just walk in and know that whatever I order will be delicious and remind me of home style Italian cooking! The owners are also truly some the best people around. We were staying local with my wife and two small kids. This pizzeria was walking distance from our hotel. Their regular slice is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Absolutely delicious!! This is my go-to local pizza place. Convenient location (right across from the Great Neck LIRR station) and quick service. They offer a large cheese pizza carry-out deal for $12.95 and have an extensive Italian menu. The pizza, I am a huge fan of. Their dough is so good. The sauce though... needs some work. Not necessarily the sauce on the pizza, but when you get a roll or something and get sauce to dip into... it's rather bland and overall just lacking. Hoping this was just a fluke, but we'll have to see! Either way, I'm looking forward to trying more dishes from this place besides just the pizza and am obviously a repeat customer. read more

Personal pizza for $30! I ordered a white pizza with 2 toppings for delivery around the corner. White pizza doesn't come with garlic which is basically tasteless. Thank goodness I ordered 2 toppings. The size of the pizza equals 2 regular slices. After tax, service & delivery fee they tack on a mandatory gratuity which doesn't allow you to pay cash tips. Sometimes you want just a slice of cheese pizza... but sometimes you really want some odd combination of toppings that seems like a strange idea to say the least. Francesca's is definitely good for the latter. There was barbecue chicken pizza, tortellini pizza, and - my choice - eggplant parm (among others). My slice of pizza and a soda was under $6, it was warmed in the oven, and brought to my table with a knife and fork, to accommodate for its considerable size. I really wanted to give this place a higher score after the counter guy was such a sweetheart and the two older guys (totally guessing, but maybe the owner and his son?) were having a hilariously New York conversation that sounded like it was out of a movie script. The best part was when they interrupted themselves to make change for the cash drawer and the older of the two brings out this wad of cash from his pocket that was pretty incredible to behold. However, while the fresh basil and sauce on the pizza were delicious, the crust and eggplant parm left much to be desired. I am rarely a person who feels the need for more salt, but salt was definitely missing in the equation. The crust also lacked flavor, though the warming in the oven definitely gave it some crunch. I'll give Francesca's another go if I need a quick lunch in Great Neck, but I'm not hoping for much. read more

Having tried now Gino's and this place, I have to say that Gino's is the clear winner. I came here Friday for lunch. The one guy working behind the counter seemed frazzled even though I was the only customer there. He was rude when I asked him what a couple of the slices were. I wanted extra cheese, which they didn't have, so opted for the buffalo chicken and the ham slice. Buffalo chicken was decent, but not the best I've had (by a long shot) and the ham slice was decent as well, but the cheese fell off the slice when I picked it up. Verdict? Just eh. Came here to pick up lunch for the office and ordered 2 chicken rolls and a slice. My order took 45 minutes (they told me it would be ready in 20 minutes), which is kind of long for such a small order. All things considered, I did enjoy the food. It was a bit expensive, but worth it in light of the fact that there are very limited options in the area. I'll be back, but I'll know better than to show up on time to pick up my order. read more
