Pizza is so good and affordable. The slices are huge compared to other places in town. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.

They have a beautiful dining patio outside and a humble interior. The bathroom is easy to get to and spacious. Everything is at grade level which is even better for handicapped people. I had a party of six and we sat outside. There was a good mix of shade and sun for those who didn't mind being a little cold or hot. The restaurant was able to accommodate us on Easter Sunday an hour earlier than they originally do open, so we would be guaranteed a place to eat. (Every other option was fully booked a week in advance!) The food was really good. We had a mix of beer and boba shakes for those of us who are sober. The kimchi pancakes were perfect and no shellfish to be frightful of in regards to allergies. We tried their popcorn chicken and one was a little sweet and spicy and the other was plain. We shared edamame. And everyone was happy with their dishes whether it be the vegetarian japchae, beef bulgogi, dolsot bibimbap with an egg, house salad, soup, chicken katsu, etc! Only one star removed because the veggies were still more raw than cooked in the dolsot bibimbap. I know we were a large group, but cooking it a little extra would have been preferred. Happy eats!

Such a satisfying lunch--this place continues to impress…read more Ken recognized us immediately and welcomed us back--always a thoughtful touch. Service from Ken and Alex was attentive, seamless, and effortless throughout. The hot and sour soup with grilled shrimp was rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced with just the right kick. The half Peking duck--served with delicate pancakes and sauces on the side--was cooked perfectly, boneless, and absolutely delicious. I especially loved the crispy skin--so flavorful and satisfying. The Malaysian-style red curry with seasonal vegetables, roti, and grilled shrimp, served with brown rice, was equally flavorful and well executed. Prices reflect the quality--and it shows. Delicious food, warm service--we'll definitely be back.

Location location location. Jia finds its "jia" in Port and serves its specific clientele…read morebefittingly well. Clean restaurant, dishes are presented precisely and attractively. We went for dinner and the loud party music absolutely did not fit the calm, natural interior decor. In fact, the music was irritating and confusing when the decor looks more zen-like. Not sure what they're going for there. Service was not very attentive either. No one ever asked how our food was or if we needed anything. Water cup was left empty often. So then am I paying for some magical taste in these dishes? Because the prices are double that of some excellent Chinese options not only in Queens, but even Long Island. Again, all the dishes were presented very well, but if I ate blindfolded I would not have noticed anything truly amazing. Lamb potstickers were good, but could use some more cumin and spice. Seafood fried rice had hot chilli peppers in it - why?? Also may want to warn customers of this since families with young kids ordering rice/noodles may be ordering for kids who don't eat spicy food (not indicated on menu). Shanghai soup dumpling were...unusual. Adding a goji berry on top is a little gimmicky, but we all hated the mushy filling. The meat falls apart inside the dumpling and perhaps that's what they're going for? I also suspect there is a lot of msg and salt being used. The duck was delicious cooked, cut perfectly and presented nicely. A warning about the cranberry sauce - if you have it during Thanksgiving, great go for it. If you don't like cranberry sauce during Thanksgiving, don't even bother with it here. Duck is not turkey (what an insult that would be to compare the two) but I'm guessing that's where the idea for cranberry sauce came from. In the end, it felt like westernised cuisine masquerading as Chinese food. (My family wanted to give Jia 2 stars - they never want to go back, but I'm feeling generous :P) My star rating legend: 5: A+ Worth a special journey (ie. I would go out of my way, maybe even take a flight somewhere just for this; exceptionally amazing) 4: A excellent, a must try, solid place 3: B good; nothing extraordinary, but would definitely go again 2: C personally would never go again (unless invited by someone and I didn't get to pick the place), but I can see how others might find something appealing 1: Fail. I would never return and recommend no on else goes either.

Halibut special was not with $44 as the vegetables were nice but the fish was not seasoned and almost tasteless. Fish and chips: Fish was actually very good but the fries were not. Two people in our party got them and both hated the fries. Chicken satay had no peanut sauce at all, just a hot chili sauce. For desert, lava cake apparently good but the apple crisp wasn't crisp at all, just a mushy oatmeal covering over cooked apples. A sad end to a meal that cost almost $360. Won't be back.

Drinks came out pretty quickly and were kept full throughout the meal. We ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken (they happily subbed out the greens for brussels) and the Long Island duck. Both were decent portion sizes (I took half of the chicken home for lunch the next day) and tasted very good. We were full by the time it came to dessert, so we didn't order anything, but menu looked tempting. While we were there we saw a ton of take-out orders being picked up, so obviously a local favorite. If we lived closer would definitely get take out from here as well.
