First time here! Ordered a bacon burrito and a ham burrito. We were charged $10.18 for the bacon burrito and $11.99 for the ham burrito. The cashier asked if we were paying cash, and I said yes! On the receipt we were given a .89 cent discount for paying cash and then they added .85 cents for "non-cash Adjustment!! So, with that said we saved a whopping 4 cents for paying cash! I called back and spoke with the girl who took the order and she basically talked in circles and said we weren't charged the 85 cents, but when it came to asking about the 4 cents, she really had no response! I don't know if we will return based on this experience! I'd love to hear on management regarding this experience and please let me know why we only get a 4 cent discount for paying cash! read more

Francisco's place is pretty good. They have a variety of salsa which is awesome but if you're not used to spice be cautious even the mild is hot ha ha. The establishment is very clean. I love this place and the people who run it. Their rolled tacos are always great, and I love their proper salsa bar. The biggest things they nail though are the rice and beans. Places like this live and die on their rice and beans and theirs are perfect. Every time I've visited I've been treated with genuine kindness. You can tell this is a place run by people who care, and it shows in the food. Don't sleep on their breakfast burritos either. They're not just big, they're actually good. I love supporting a place like this and I'll be back many times to come. read more

We ordered takeout. My wife the pollo asado burrito and I had the adobada. It's like Al pastor but the marinated pork is pan seared. The flavors were very tasty with generous portions. I made two meals out of it. Service was great. The young lady was very helpful in helping with making decisions. Very inviting dining room. We will be back to try other selections. read more

Friendly service with great help. Food was very good, I had Chicken Enchiladas loaded with meat. I would like a little more flavoring and some sour cream. Leave the pile of lettuce off, no dressing so was very bland. Husband had beef fajitas that he enjoyed tremendously. Had a hard time finding the restaurant front door, no signs. This was our first visit here and will certainly not be our last. The food was seasoned perfectly and delicious! I had the enchilada plate with beans and rice, my wife had two ground beef tacos. Just a heads-up: watch your receipts at Fernando's. We went through the drive-thru last night and ordered a #11 combo and one chile relleno. The woman at the window said she'd give us the total there--then hit us with $26 and change. When we asked for a breakdown, she claimed it was $12.49 for the combo and $11.99 for two rellenos. After we corrected her, she randomly said, "Okay, $10 for one chile relleno." Seriously? If you don't offer a la carte items, just say so. Don't make up prices on the fly. First time visiting today and it was TREMENDOUS. The place is very clean and the staff is too notch. I had the 2 chicken taco combo plate. The tacos we big and had lots of very tasty chicken. Rice and beans came with the combo and both were excellent. Wife had a breakfast burrito and she loved it. She could only eat half so she'll have another meal. When I try out a new Mexican place , my first choice if they have Carnitas is in the form of a burrito. I asked for a Carnitas burrito without onions. Most have Pico de Gallo. Instead of the Pico they let you substitute rice or pinto beans. I went for the beans. It's a nice size burrito . The Carnitas was good . The beans could have bean hotter . Prices are very reasonable. There is ample seating too. The service is great. This is a family run business and you can tell they will cater to all of your needs. Went through the drive thru today at 1:40, I ordered 2 carne asada fries and chips and pico, when I got home there was no chips in the bag. I called them and asked if I could come get them. They said, "ARE YOU SURE IT WAS THIS ONE? I DONT EVEN HAVE A RECEIPT FOR THAT ORDER." The young girl at the drive thru took my money and gave me my change, never gave a receipt. And then tells me, "THERES NOTHING WE CAN DO!" So yeah horrible experience, horrible customer service and this will be the last time we ever go back. Hope it was worth the chips!!!!! read more

But since the change in ownership, the quality, service, and value have completely fallen off a cliff. Tonight was the absolute last straw. We always call ahead to ask if our favorite server, Espy, is working, because the customer service otherwise has become atrocious. Espy is fantastic and the only reason we still try to come here. Tonight, we called and asked if Espy was working, and the person on the phone said yes. We asked if she'd be there until close, and the manager, Jeff, responded with, "I hope not." We pulled up to the restaurant less than five minutes later and asked for her section, only for Jeff to tell us he had already cut her for the night, knowing full well we had just called and were coming specifically for her. Jeff the manager was extremely rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. We walked right out and took our business elsewhere tonight, and we feel terrible for Espy because she is genuinely amazing and deserves better. This interaction is just the final nail in the coffin after watching this restaurant go downhill: Zero Customer Support: We actually reached out directly through the customer service link on the Macayo's website back in July to share these exact concerns and issues, hoping someone cared. They never even acknowledged or responded to our email. Shrinkflation & Portions: Portion sizes have drastically shrunk. Far less meat in the burritos, barely any beans and rice, and they nickel-and-dime you over chips and salsa. Stingy Takeout Policy: On multiple takeout orders, they hand you a huge bag of chips with a tiny 4-oz cup of salsa and claim "new management policy" prevents them from giving any more. Gutted Deals: They eliminated the loyalty points program, cut kids' meal deals from two per adult to one, scrapped the summer "Kids Eat Free" daily deal, and neutered Happy Hour. Refusing Advertised Coupons: Just last month, we brought a party of 14 people and management refused to honor the active 20% off Mi Coupon that is still advertised on their own website and app. Between Jeff's atrocious management, total lack of response from corporate, the drop in food quality, and the complete elimination of customer appreciation, there is zero reason left for us to support Macayo's. After 36 years, our family and our wallets are officially done.

So when we heard Oscar's was related to Rosie's, we were excited to give it a try. I have a pretty simple baseline for Mexican restaurants: How are the tacos? How is the salsa? How is the horchata? We'll get to whether Oscar's passed that test in a moment. First, the drive-thru. The speaker was laughably quiet. I'm talking "listening for a mouse to take your order" quiet. Worse, every time I tried to clarify something, the employee would interrupt and attempt to finish my sentence--usually incorrectly. Once we finally made it through the ordering process, I pulled around to the window. We received our food, minus the drinks, and I already had a feeling something would be wrong. How could the order be accurate when I couldn't finish a sentence while placing it? Sure enough, we were missing the combo portion of one meal, our tacos were incorrect, and our drinks hadn't been given to us. Trying to explain the mistakes became another exercise in frustration because the cashier continued attempting to finish my sentences--and continued guessing incorrectly. Eventually, I became visibly frustrated. To her credit, she apologized, and we ultimately received the correct order. Unfortunately, the food didn't do much to redeem the experience. The crispy shredded beef tacos were decent, but nothing to write home about. The beans had good flavor. The rice was extremely bland and had an almost microwaved quality to it. The red salsa had adequate flavor, but lacked the bite I want from a good salsa. The horchata was decent enough, but I've had much better at plenty of other establishments. And then there was the elote. Atrocious. The mayo was watery, the entire thing lacked flavor, and my wife and I ultimately deemed it inedible and threw it away. So, how did Oscar's fare against my Mexican restaurant baseline? Tacos? Decent. Salsa? Adequate. Horchata? Fine. Nothing was bad enough to condemn the restaurant on those three alone, but nothing was good enough to make me eager to return, either. So after all of that, would I go back? Possibly. The service was frustrating enough to keep me away, and the food was forgettable enough not to bring me back. But because of our history with Rosie's, part of me feels like Oscar's deserves another shot before I completely write it off. We shall see.
