This spot is super tiny with very limited seating. Parking is pretty small but not too difficult. The menu is very extensive with many varieties of tacos, quesadillas, burritos, etc. I've gotten their asada tacos and shrimp asada burrito before and it's very flavorful and loaded with lots of asada, cheese, etc. Their asada nachos are also very delicious and huge! Tried Oscar's Taco Shop for the 1st time and was pleasantly surprised by the excellent customer service and the ease of my phone order to go. The chicken tostada was delicious, crunchy shell, full to the top of chicken goodness. Also ordered chili rellanos, with a chicken enchilada - also very good. We'll be back. It's with a sad heart I give this 3 star review. I have watched the burritos get smaller and smaller. I now have to order beans and rice to get full. I paid 20 bucks at Oscar's tacos for pork burrito with rice and beans. I'll post pics. So I decided today it would be amigos Mexican restaurant. Got a huge pork burrito with green sauce, rice and beans, chips and salsa more food than I can possibly eat for 20 bucks. It's just sad that chain restaurants are getting so expensive. read more

We moved to the neighborhood and THIS Oscars was the first recommendation from a local. We are forever grateful! You know the food is when the establishment doesn't have to be open weekends to thrive. The chicken quesadilla, nachos, burrito, enchiladas... no one in our family is ever disappointed. The green salsa is - just one ups all our favs. We call to order to grab and go. It is a small establishment. The ladies in there handle the consistent volume of calls and/or ppl coming & going w ease. Always friendly, they learn who the regulars are and give the place a good vibe. Overall pretty solid Mexican food. We had the beef tamale enchilada style, an enchilada, chili relleno, rice and refried beans. The beef tamale was OK but the amount of beef was inconsistant throughout the length of the tamale. The enchilada was good and pretty good ingredients for the enchilada style adds on top. The chili relleno was very good a must have next time. The rice was not to my liking. It had some crunchy rice throughout, not to my personal taste. The refried beans were very good with fresh cheese on top. This was a first time here for lunch. I'll try it again. read more

The service is spectacular! I walked in and was surprised by how clean and friendly it was. I ordered a fish taco, chicken taco and made it a combo. The rice and beans straight up sucked. Zero flavor in the beans. The rice was boring. The fish taco was solid, I would for sure get it again. The chicken taco was substantial but the chicken had no seasoning, just tasted like boiled bland chicken. I would like to come back and try a few more items on the menu before making a full opinion however won't be getting anything with beans or rice. read more

I would move to Surprise just for their fish tacos! That's how good they are. Ambience is zero, just a strip mall hole-in-the-wall place, but they food is outstanding. Yum! Yum! Yum! Amazing tacos! A cute little restaurant that is very clean and has friendly staff. You order at the counter and they bring out your food when it's ready, along with hot and mild sauce. Today I had the shredded beef taco. Delicious! Fresh, crispy shell with a generous portion of beef, lettuce, cheese and tomato. My husband had a fish taco, served street taco style and he said it was outstanding! Trip today tried a chorizo, egg & cheese burrito also excellent. Only downside is the hot sauce cups are tiny so you need to ask for a ton of them because the salsas are good as well. We prefer this location. The food is great at both, but the service here is great. Additionally, the shrimp tacos are better here. Better quality of shrimp that is nicely seasoned and has a great texture. The other Oscar's was NOT the same. The food here is delicious. We have loved everything we have ever ordered. Ok folks.... This place is legit! In fact we visited Oscar's twice during our visit and would have gone a third time if still in the area. This small local establishment has the best tacos. Burritos, salsa, etc... seriously. First night we ordered a bean tostada, a beef and bean burrito, an al pastor taco, and chips and salsa.....delish! They use fresh ingredients on their tostada and the pico is excellent. I don't know what they do to their refried beans but OMG.... So so good! The pork was so tender and flavorful and they use thicker corn tortillas for their tacos which is a plus. Salsa...... I want a gallon of it. The next morning we stopped in for a breakfast burrito..... we got the chorizo and egg with potatoes. I make my own chorizo so I am very picky..... theirs was spot on...it was not greasy at all ... it was flavorful and spicy... I want a pound of it for my freezer! We love Oscar's for quick, casual Mexican food. Prices are great and the shrimp tacos are delish. Husband and I usually share one of their combo plates (with rice & beans plus free drink) and then order 2 tacos a la carte. It's just the right amount of food for 2 people. And only costs about $20! This is not my fav taco shop in Surprise but it's definitely #2. Their rice and beans are average, but top them with some of that red sauce they've got and OOOOHHH WEEEE is that tasty! If you don't like hot food though, steer clear of that sauce. You'll be crying in your burrito. It may be hot but it's also crazy flavorful. I like hot stuff so i save the extra and eat it on everything I have in my house until it's gone. Their menu is also HUGE. If you can't find something that sounds good to you, then you just don't like Mexican food. The shredded chicken is decent and moist, but the shredded beef is even better. Try a shredded beef taco!! The Arizona burrito is great too with some tasty carne asada. Keep in mind this is an order at the counter kind of place so don't expect anything fancy. Definitely worth the stop though! read more
