Cute little Italian restaurant in Bridgeport. Great service, authentic food. Not pictured: Cesar salad.

Service and food amazing. Little neighborhood restaurant outside of Chicago proper. Fun staff. Our only complaint portions were huge. Prepare to get a box. Try the Nona's meatballs as an appetizer. My wife had chicken parm. I had the chicken artichoke special. Both amazing. Lots of regulars which tells you how good the place is.

This was my first time going to Franco's for a work lunch and it was really good. I had a dirty martini which was made the way I like it and the Vesuvio with pork option. You can also get it with chicken, but I got it with pork and it was delicious. Our servers were very prompt and attentive in the vibe was very just chill. There was a lot of the older crowd, but it was safe there for them to eat. I'd more than likely go back just to enjoy more of the menu. Everything looked delicious. The bathrooms were neat and clean, and there were street parking, but it was limited.

Good neighborhood restaurant. It's small so a reservation would probably be a good idea but I didn't make one and they were still able to seat us. The service was quick and friendly. I loved the all the photos on the wall. The food was good but the fried calamari is a must! The soup of the day was a seafood chowder and it was also delicious.

This is an absolutely amazing hidden gem that not many people know of. We had an early dinner here and everything was wonderful! The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were warm, friendly, and very attentive. The atmosphere was inviting, with the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. Interior gives you the feeling of old Italian restaurant. All the food we tired were amazing!!

We visited Franco's Ristorante back in November, and honestly... it's the definition of classic Italian comfort food done right. The vibes are cozy, neighborhood-spot energy, and the service makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. We ordered the Franco's Pizette, Chicken Giardiniera, Chicken Milanese, and the Pipette à la Vodka -- and every single dish delivered. The chicken was crispy yet tender, the giardiniera had the perfect kick, and that vodka sauce? Creamy, rich, and absolutely addictive. The portions were generous and everything tasted fresh and homemade. This is one of those places where you can tell they take pride in the food -- no shortcuts, just solid Italian cooking that leaves you full and already planning your next visit. If you're looking for a Chicago Italian spot that feels comforting, flavorful, and consistent, Franco's Ristorante is a must-try.

Made a reservation for 7:30 on a Wednesday and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Penne Buttera which was absolutely amazing and a aperol spritz. Fastest service I've ever encountered for a dine in Italian restaurant. Food and drinks were out within minutes. Ordered a side of gelato with the chocolate cake which was not that great. Wish it was sweeter. I really wish they still had the lava cake on the menu.

We were welcomed with warm bread accompanied by what it seems freshly grated parmesan and a dish of olive oil for dipping, a simple yet irresistible starter. The parmesan alone was enough to make the entire loaf disappear within minutes. The dish that stood out the most to us was Noona's Meatballs. They were tender and juicy on the inside, they were perfectly complemented by a lightly dressed vinaigrette side salad. Franco's Pizzette had a sweeter tomato sauce that worked beautifully with the pizza's soft yet satisfyingly crisp crust. Our Fettuccini Alla Franco didn't stand out to me too much. While the sauce was more subtle but flavorful, the noodles were tougher and clumped together in certain spots. Despite that minor hiccup, the meal overall was excellent. Our waiter was also attentive and sweet, giving us suggestions on what to order from different categories of the menu.

Great local spot! Blends into the neighborhood very well so much so we passed by it like it wasn't there. The food was really good, I believe the said the pasta was homemade. The calamari was very tasty and a great start to the meal. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. The Salmon was amazing, overlook it on the menu. Smal quaint place with a family vibe.

Filling hearty, and delicious! Franco's Ristorante was pretty much a trendy spot for the neighborhood. You could immediately tell the regulars and newbies. Very much a steady flow with customers in & out. We were seated outside the restaurant due to air conditioning issues, which wasn't a problem it was about 530ish so the sun has already started to set. It felt beautiful outside. Nice patio seating that spoke Italian culture. As soon as we stepped in the in the restaurant we were immediately greeted. Our waitress was sweet and very polite. She suggested her favs and we went from there. She was very attentive and patiently waited for us to place our order which we are talkers lol! We ordered the Bucatini which consisted of Calabrian Chilis, Crumbled Sausage, Roasted Garlic, Fresh Tomatoes! Fantastic aroma which tickled my nose hairs! Literally could taste all the spices and hot and ready it was! We Also ordered the Chicken Giardiniera which was Breaded Chicken Cutlet, House-Made Giardiniera, Roasted Potatoes! Boy! The hearty entree was nothing short of amazing flavorful combo! The chicken was so tender and two huge fillets that made the entree even more sweeter. The Giardiniera peppers just complimented the dish so well. In great company with great food and great customers service is ALWAYS good in my book! They also had a nice wine menu. Check em out!

Does place make their own pasta? I'm on the hunt for some real homemade pasta/authentic Italian restaurant. I live in Plainfield but willing to drive for great food. 😁 Grazie!?

I only remember the waiter mentioning homemade gnocchi and tiramisu. I was craving spaghetti and meatballs and it was good but not sure if spaghetti was homemade.

Do they make their pasta in-house?

If you have seen any of my other reviews, I always get a meatball when I'm at a place that has them. They almost never live up to my expectation. But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. With fabulous house made red sauce that wasn't too thick and overwhelming. The flavor was A+ The cocktails were so good! All made from scratch with love. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. Perfect for a group or a date. They have a full bar, and also great seating with perfect lighting. This is a new favorite for me in the city.

The ambiance is nice with the restaurant not too dark but still has moody lighting. The entire time we sat down there was a huge group of people waiting for a table, so definitely make a reservation! I came here for a business dinner with about 6 others. The only frustrating part of our experience was we made a reservation online weeks in advance and when we arrived we were told that they basically overbooked every night and when you reserve a seat you're just saying you're coming. So we showed up and were told we were going to wait an hour. It sounds like they are super busy, but there are better ways to ensure the restaurant is selling every available seat rather than offering basically fake reservations that don't mean anything when you get there. Someone in our group complained enough about it that they sat us and did honor the reservation which we appreciated - given that it was a business dinner though, I think it was awkward we had to do that. It just was a LOT of work to organize multiple out of towners getting together and to show up and potentially wait an hour would have been so inconvenient. They really should fix this problem. The reservation issue aside the experience was great. The service is just sort of meh I didn't feel like they were above or beyond and didn't note anything exceptional there. But the food..... the food is the main event for sure. Everything I tried I loved. I had just had Italian the day before so I didn't want anything that felt "too Italian" (lasagna, pasta, pizza, etc) so I got the braised short rib over polenta which was a nice change of pace. It was amazing. Some of the best polenta I've ever had. I am already looking forward to the next time I can go back! The food here is outstanding. If you are able to go, I would highly recommend it.

The octopus surprised me because octopus can be hit or miss for me, but they did it really well! The table bread was also pretty good and cheesy. The Caesar was just fine. The fusilloni was definitely my favorite from the noodle shape to the sausage and cheese. The ricotta dumplings were suuuuuper cheesy which I really liked (though I could see why others wouldn't) and had a melt in your mouth softness. The rigatoni was tasty, but kinda just tasted like a normal red sauce so would probably try something more interesting next time. We really enjoyed the chicken parm, too. The fritto misto was ok, the breading tasted like it was old or had been sitting out. Not as crispy as we'd hope. To be honest felt like frozen calamari quality. The Alla Vita chopped was pretty standard, kinda reminded me of Olive Garden salad lol. The stars of the meal were the tagliatelle and cappelletti pasta. Both were super flavorful and pasta cooked well. The bone-in ribeye was a little on the sweeter side, definitely lacked a crust and salt. I'd pass on the steak IMO. Our biggest qualm was the timing of the dishes coming out. The pasta came out 30-35 minutes after the appetizer and salad which is fine, but the steak coming out 15 minutes after the pasta kinda ruined it. We'd love to eat the entrees (steak and pasta) together, and not finish our pasta first or let it go cold then eat steak alone.. ya know? We had ordered crispy potatoes but cancelled due to the wait. Ended the night with mango passion fruit sorbet with a prosecco float. Big mistake on the prosecco float haha it was so tarte and bitter, would def recommend trying the sorbet alone! Overall, glad we finally got to try this place. Focus more on the pastas and skip the steak. Very beautiful inside.
