Traditional Italian comfort food done to perfection. Love the homey ambience. Will definitely be back!

Was recommend this spot by a friend who's been coming for years. Must say everything was a 10/10. The calamari was fresh The baked clams are phenomenal We ordered a few dishes to share, the lasagna was nothing short of amazing BUT the steak vesuvio was AMAZING. Get the tiramisu for desert you won't regret it.

This is one of the best red sauce Italian restaurants I have ever been to. It was actually my second time there. Tonight's meal was crazy good. Started with baked clams. They were large, whole, and the breading was perfect. The garlic butter sauce perfect. My wife had the lasagna which was a sight to behold. The cheese inside was so creamy. I had spaghetti Bolognese with meatballs. The sauce was the best. Service was great. Well deserved 5 stars.

I wanted to try this place because I had seen their special online. I went in on a Thursday and we were the only table there. We got baked clams as an appetizer and 2 glasses of wine. The baked clams were amazing, the star of the night. We had their split pea soup as well and it was good. For our entrees, we had the chicken francese and the veal scallopini. The veal scallopini was amazing! The chicken francese was just alright. The sauce was like a glaze or marmalade and was a little off putting. It was served over angel hair pasta which was amazing. All in all, it was too expensive for the quality of food. I would only return to drink at the bar and eat baked clams

My friend and I had high hopes for Bacchanalia. I have to say that we were pretty disappointed. The food didn't hit the mark. The fried calamari dipping sauce didn't seem to be very tasty compared to other places we have been to. The crispiness of the fried calamari was good though. We both were very disappointed in the baked clams as they all had a ton of sand in them. We have been to others places none of them had sand like Bacchanalia did. I did like the eggplant parmigiana. The service seemed to be very slow considering that we were the only customers in the restaurant. The overall atmosphere / ambiance was pretty good considering the holiday season.

Amazing food! We came for New Year's Eve. Fun fact: This place was where we spent our first NYE, so we were so happy to come back almost five years later. Our server was great. She listened to us, understood what we wanted, and thus responded us with great recommendations based on what we shared we liked. I had the NYE special (linguini with lobster) while my boyfriend ordered baked shells. The sauce that came with my dish was super delicious: I really wanted to come home with the sauce. The baked shells was really cheesy and the Chianti wine paired well with my dish. It was such a cute nice place. We enjoyed our time here and plan to come back for the summer! Tiramisu - wouldn't recommend

Bacchanalia has the feel of a simple neighborhood restaurant, with great service and amazing food. We had the pizza bread, calamari, lasagna, and spinach gnocchi with vodka sauce. All of these dishes were great, but the stand out was the gnocchi. The gnocchi was stuffed with spinach! This was definitely a surprise. We've never had gnocchi like this before. It was great. Super light and fluffy, nice texture, not chewy. I would get this every time. The lasagna was also very good, but a tad salty for me. We ended the meal with the tiramisu, which we didn't love. It seemed like there was a chocolate sauce and some other substitute for the cocoa powder and mascarpone. Overall, it was a great meal. We'll definitely be back!

Every single time I drove passed I looked at it, wondering what its prices and food were like. The preparation for an initial visit came prior to headed to Lawndale Christian Fitness Center because the restaurant sits enroute back to my apartment in the neighboring neighborhood. And with the restaurant being a bookmark of mine for nearly a year I figured it was time to finally visit. Now, the parking lot is shared at this restaurant, but it has well enough parking spots available on any part of Lawndale Plaza, the property where it sits. The interior of this restaurant made me think of a fish dock the way it is decorated with its painted, old, run down wooden wall and door appearance. Totally in sync with a name like Fisherman's Island. Now, other than its decorative - fish dock style interior, this restaurant has the bullet proof window shielding the employee which is not just this restaurant, but its neighboring restaurants, too. That alone gives me an idea of what kind of customers these restaurants serve. I got a chance to see a little bit of that firsthand because during my visit, one of the customers tried to steal a bottle of water then showed attitude once she was caught in the act. Another customer even went to the point of questioning the employee on why she was charged extra which most likely was tax, as we all are charged. After contemplating between either the tilapia, the catfish, and the whiting I ordered the tilapia which the sizes come in either 1/2 pound or 1 pound. Once I ordered I noted that all platters come with 3 sides: broccoli, corn and potatoes which is not that bad of a meal for its price listed. I did love that they wrapped my order inside of saran wrap which prevented any leakage. But once I opened it up, it was pure heaven because it smelt lovely! Ah, the wonderful smell of seasoned tilapia combined with broccoli. Waiting on my order I noted that most customers pre-ordered which I imagine eliminates the possibility of a long wait which really wasn't that bad for me. My food actually was completed in a appropriate time frame, but ordering again I would probably pre-order being that I live a little over one mile away. Pre-ordering would eliminate me from having to sit on that window sill again because my ass was hurting during my wait. The only thing in the dining area was a shelf stocked with canned goods, a cooler with drinks, and a trash receptacle for whatever known reason. With that I observed, it is obviously a takeout restaurant which probably stems from past incidents with customers and reason why that bullet proof window is plastered up shielding the employee. I'm just going to end it right here and say look no further if you are browsing through other reviews because this review is all you need to see. Other than my ass hurting from sitting on that window sill, I have no complaints about the overall service. I enjoyed the food and would gladly order from Fisherman's Island again; possibly regularly. If I knew how much I missed I would have visited a lot sooner, but better now than never. Wouldn't you agree? ~Blessings~ Thomas G

It also came with several cracker packs which was perfect for the seafood soup we ordered later. Such a generous portion and so refreshing and yummy! We ordered the camarones (shrimp) plate, which included juicy shrimp in an incredibly rich and flavorful sauce, fresh garlic bread, lightly fried rice with some corn in it, and lettuce salad. It was an absolute flavor bomb and I would definitely recommend! It is a large plate so definitely shareable for 2. We also ordered the mendigo especial which is a seafood broth with some shrimp and seafood pieces. It came in a glass chalise with shrimp on the sides, and it was hot, steaming, and incredibly flavorful! Because it was so rich in flavor (yet refreshing), the medium was a perfect size for sharing. Altogether this was plenty of food for 2 of us and we ended up taking some of the shrimp plate leftovers home. Service was excellent! They were friendly and checked in a good amount. The restaurant is spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. The ambience is cute and welcoming, and they had lots of screens for World Cup viewing. Outside they have free parking for patrons. Will definitely be back to try their other dishes!! Awesome spot especially for a summer day :)
