Having just moved to Pasadena from San Francisco, I have been exploring the food scene all-around. These kinds of places are a dying breed everywhere as gentrification and conglomerates take over more and more of the food landscape. Why you should patronize this place: locally owned, family run, great food, and hella cheap. The owner (I think he's the owner) was so friendly and knew the orders of many of the locals who came in while I was eating. The front person was great as well. I ordered the 1/4 dark with fries and it was great. Chicken was juicy and the shoestring fries crisped up just right. This is on my go-to list and it should be on yours.

The restaurant is beautiful, spotless, and has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere with lots of character and culture. It feels like a place where people genuinely care about their customers. One thing that really stood out was how kind they were to my daughter. They even gave her a sticker, which made her day and showed how thoughtful they are with families. My daughter and I absolutely loved our experience, and we'll definitely be coming back. Super Burger is owned by a super-nice Korean family. There are various Korean dishes in their menu available but I only go there for the burgers. What makes their simple burgers so great? First off the burger patty-- the patties are formed in-house. The cooked patties have that irregular edge that can only come from being hand-formed; imperfect and delicious. These aren't the frozen discs delivered by a freezer truck. The ratio of the ingredients are ideal. -- The tomato is sliced to the perfect thickness -- The freshly-shredded lettuce doesn't manspread and take up too much of the burger's real estate -- The thousand island dressing marries the freshness of the veggie section to the animal part perfectly -- The burger patty's girth is appropriately balanced for the other ingredients. -- Their buns have that old-school yeast(?) flavor not available in stores. Their burgers are lovingly prepared and assembled with care. This is why whenever I go, there are always people there. Seating is strictly patio style, looking out onto the intersection of Altadena and Villa. There lot is small lot next to the stand. I'm not sure if it's shared with another business. Street parking is available. Even though super burger is basically a corner burger stand with patio seating, the place is always clean. Super Burger is definitely a sure thing. They're cooked with a nicely browned, crispy crust while still remaining fairly moist inside. The real highlight, however, is the banana bread. It tastes homemade and is easily the best item on the plate. Crepes - 1/5. This dish comes as two separate plates: one with the ricotta-filled crepes and another with eggs, sausage, bacon, and your choice of fries or tater tots. Unfortunately, the crepes are the weakest part of the meal. The ricotta-filled crepes don't taste freshly made and instead resemble a pre-made food-service product that's simply reheated before serving. Both the crepe and ricotta filling have a generic flavor with noticeable artificial notes. You can choose either banana or strawberry topping, but both sauces taste overly processed and artificial. Whenever it is too packed to get a table we just order to go and eat at home. The pizzas are awesome and the pasta dishes are on point! The antipasto salad is a must! Be warned about huge servings! They do have a full bar, not just beer and wine. Please come and enjoy some awesome Italian food from a mom and pop style restaurant. You won't regret it!
