We've been in East cobb for 10 years and tried different pizza places in the area and settled on Frankie's. THEY HAVE REALLY GONE DOWN HILL THE LAST 12 months. Their quality control is sorely lacking. The last one we received was really burned - badly. There's no way this pizza should been sold. We typically check before we leave but my son picked it up and he didn't look. We will go back to get our free pizza (since they owe us one from tonight's fiasco), but not sure if we will be back after that. The last few have not been what we've been used to seeing from them and we are wondering what might have changed. read more

Frankie's has disappointed me twice now which is a shame because I know a lot of people who seem to like it. Walking in, the place is very nice and dimly lit. The hostess was very friendly and we were seated right away. The first time I went I got the alfredo. It was cream overload. The pasta was just drenched in sauce and the sauce was too thick and creamy. I declined a to go box even though I had about half leftover. The garlic bread came out and the first ones, my dining friend and I ate were so warm and garlicky and good. The middle ones, however, were stone cold! Quickly made me lose my appetite for the bread. My second visit was more or less the same. Nice hostess, immediate seating, nice server, cold bread, and bad pasta. I got the veal marsala this time and it was bad. So flavorless and just bad all over. Now, I have NEVER sent food back because I didn't like it. Normally, I can just tough it up and eat it. The only time I send food back is if I find hair or bugs in it and usually, I politely decline to order anything else. The pasta was so bad that I had to send it back and order something different. My second dish was mediocre, to the point that I actually don't even remember what I ordered. Now our server was absolutely wonderful about the whole situation. She was very nice and patient and went through the menu with me to see what else I could find that I would like. She came back regularly to check up on us after I got my second dish and was so understanding about everything. Overall, this place is a no go for me. Two strikes and you're out. -A read more

Ordered the eggplant parmesan , my eggplant was burnt. I complained to the manager and instead of him replacing my meal, he only wanted to give me a percentage off the meal because I eat the spaghetti pasta with sauce ( I eat the spaghetti as the minutes passed, waiting for the manager to come to my table. And, No the restaurant was not busy), but I did not eat the eggplant parmesan (which was burnt). After further discussion with the manager, he aggressively took my plate off the table and stormed off mumbling words under his voice. All this done with my 7 year old daughter sitting across from the table, looking confused. However, my waitress was awesome and very professional. read more

Nice place to stop with a group or family. You can also sit by yourself at the bar. Mussels are great - make a special request for the white wine sauce. House salad is yummy...chick peas, cheeses, etc. Bruschetta is a different path; the garlic rolls are a staple. Rolls alone are worth the trip. And the pizza is a wonderful NY style. We have been getting coupons from Frankie's since we have moved to the area, so we finally decided to go check out the restaurant on Friday night. Going into Frankie's you get the feeling of going to an old time family owned Italian restaurant. The staff was very courteous, but the waiter couldn't really recommend anything special for dinner so we ended up trying going with the basics and trying the Chicken Parmigiana and Chicken Saltimbocco, which were both fantastic. The portions were huge, and were topped off with a great salad and garlic rolls. Overall a very good experience and I'm looking forward to trying their pizza next time. Only thing to be aware of was they don't except their coupons over their the weekends. read more

Standard Italian fare in a pleasant family restaurant. Has all the Itialian specialties on the menu. The bread comes out as hot buns swimming in a garlic butter soup. Great stuff. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta was cooked nicely and the red sauce tasty. Service was good. A nice stop for Italian. read more

This is kinda what you get when your grandmother is Italian but not a great cook. She's not a bad cook, she just doesn't approach it with the love some Italian grandmothers muster. The food here is solid if you stick to the basics. The eggplant parm is very good, for instance. It's like $12. This is not a place to get the pumpkin rav, or most of the specials. Think chicken parm, maybe veal parm. The Caesar salad here is fresh, and you can ask for more. It is not a la carte. At least they know what the hell a real caesar salad is. More than I can say for other places in Cobb. A Caesar has romaine, not iceberg. The bread looks tempting but is forgettable, and laden with too much butter. But not too much garlic. There is no such thing :) More importantly, where's the dense, chewy Italian bread. Mondays is half off wine bottles. It might be cheaper than buying it from Sherlock's down the street. The wait staff is a first waiter job type of place. Nothing wrong with that. Be patient. This is a perfectly okay place as long as you get it. It's a gravy joint. This experience was certainly not the best I've had at this establishment. After the waitress brought me my pizza, she was no where to be found. I was waiting for a refill on my drink and never received one. Eventually, a manager came to check in and despite being offered a refill, I just asked for the check. I just had to get out of there. They were really busy this time so I can't really hold anything against them. The cap on the Parmesan shaker was loose and came off after two shakes. Needless to say cheese was spilled and wasted. I did reattach the cap and tightened it so it doesn't happen to somebody else. At the table next to me, there was a child who kept getting up and wandering around - which was distracting and disruptive to my meal - despite numerous times being told to sit down by his parents. One of my favorite Italian places in Georgia!! The chicken Gorgonzola is the absolute best! Im obsessed!

We got carry out and brought it home and it was still great! I got the Sicilian chicken which was chicken parm topped with ricotta cheese and a layer of eggplant parm served with spaghetti and mozzarella cheese. You get the best of both worlds if you can't decide between chicken parm and eggplant parm and it was delicious! It came with soup or salad. I got Italian wedding soup, which was also good- lots of pasta and meatballs in it. It also came with garlic rolls. I would definitely go back and eat at the restaurant and try other things! read more

Me and my parents were traveling back from Orlando to Nashville recently when I found this place.. Sure it's a little off the interstate but oh man is it worth it. This place has the best Italian food i've ever put inside my mouth. I just wish that I lived in Marietta so that I could frequent this place more often. read more

There salad here it different from any other Italian I hate at. But it is very good. There garlic roles are too darn good. I could just eat them for a meal. They are that good. We just had pasta and meat balls with red sauce. Just wonderful. Service here is always top notch. read more

My friend and I just enjoyed a great dinner. The bread was very fresh. My friend ordered the Fragoli soup which was some of the best he's had. The entrees were fabulous. I had lasagna and it was incredible. I don't remember my friend's entree but he said it was real good. We each topped it off with Tiramasu and it was out of this world! I highly recommend it and the restaurant. Oh yeah. don't let the outside fool you. Clean, white table cloths, cloth napkins and heavy duty dishes. Only been here once as it's a bit far from my house. Went in for a late dinner with the wife after an appointment. No one tried to rush us out the door. The salad was great. The bread was great. Our entrees were enormous and quite delicious. I had the seafood fettuccine Alfredo, and my wife had the chicken piccata. We ended up bringing a lot home with us. I split my fettuccine with my two kids and we all three had dinner off of my leftovers. Lol. The house wines were good. I'd probably make a special trip to eat here again. read more

My experience at Frankie's...I've had their delicious steak stromboli numerous times- flavorful, loaded with delicious vegetables, and of course, steak. Their beef lasagna has plenty of sauce, cheese, and delicious flavor. Can usually get 2 meals per serving. Their house salad is fresh, crisp with tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, and the most house- made Italian dressing. The dressing is piquant but not too vinegary. read more

Went to Frankie's tonight as I was in the mood for Italian. They did not disappoint! Started with the delicious house salad (lettuce, tomato, mushroom, cucumber, chick peas, and awesome Italian dressing but not too heavy, just right). Came with perfect garlic butter rolls... really good! For the main course, had veal parmigiana on a bed of penne pasta and marinara. The veal was tender and thinly sliced, breaded to perfection and cooked just right. Great meal. Finished with a freshly made cannoli. Crown on the King! read more

Being a transplant from the north I have found it very difficult to find any good Italian restaurants. Frankie's is the best I have found. Great pizza and sandwiches. Chicken Parmesan is a must. Great experience. This Italian restaraunt is 100x better than any Olive Garden. While this is a low standard of measure let me tell you how great this restaurant was! To start Frankie's has an old school Italian atmosphere. From the tablecloths to the brick interior this place screams old school Italian. They have easily the best garlic rolls I've had (complimentary) and the salad was fresh. The homemade dressing was delicious and complimented the salad nicely. They have all of the Italian dishes your used to and a good beer and wine selection. I ordered the dish which had shellfish and spaghetti. It was amazing. As someone who frequents many Italian establishments in Atlanta this one is by far my favorite. The pasta was cooked to al' dente perfection and the shellfish was fresh. We enjoyed our dining experience at Frankies last weekend. As part of a large group who had made special reservations to hear Mark Phillips, entertainer, we enjoyed our drinks before dinner but I felt we should have been able to order our meals sooner. I'm not sure if the wait staff were waiting for the room to fill up or if they were just too busy with other things to take our order but we ended up having to ask if we could order when the waiter came by for a drink order. Beyond that one thing our dining experience was wonderful and everyone enjoyed their meals. Good food! Mark Phillips is a Dean Martin impersonator and did not disappoint any of us with his smooth voice! What a talent. He plied us with great music from the Rat Pack era while we dined and then kicked it up a notch with other tunes later in the evening. I have heard that he will be at Frankies on Sundays. I don't know the times but will check the calendar to see when we can go back because we definitely want to go back! I would give this restaurant and the entertainment a BIG thumbs up. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the aforementioned ordering time. This was my first visit there so I'll have to see if it is something that might be an "issue", otherwise everything else was really wonderful. read more

I visited this location recently and was moderately disappointed. We sat down promptly and waited several minutes before being introduced to the server. We ordered our drinks and placed out orders. We then received our salads and bread; the salad looked fresh but was overwhelmed in taste of the Italian dressing. The bread was soggy in oil with herbs and garlic to compliment it's flavor. After consuming those items, we then got our entrees, mine was pumpkin raviolis with salmon vodka sauce, in which the ravioli had little stuffing. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The food was mediocre and service was not as good as I hoped for. I won't be back. read more

i ordered the baked ziti, which claims to have ricotta in it. i swear yall, i had to shine my flashlight on my pasta to find where there could possibly be cheese mixed in. not to mention they drizzled a nice little bit of packaged, almost store bought mozzarella that did absolutely nothing for the dish. their marinara sauce is terrible also, so i couldnt even just eat it like it was spaghetti. totally not worth $12 & definitely not worth your time. save your money and go somewhere else. read more

3 stars is about where this is at. My wife and I moved here 3 years ago and this place was great then. I'm not sure what has happened over the last year but service and quality has gone down..:(. I really liked this place and hate to see it get worse but either the people just don't care anymore that run the place or they have such a turnover that the device has gone out the door. Many times we have got the wrong order delivered and many times they have been rude to us on the phone. The ol roomy had been whining about craving Frankie's meatball sammie for a month. So, I checked on restaurant.com and found a cheap gift certificate. We set out on a Wednesday , sandwich bound. We arrived around 3pm, and were the only diners. Our waitress was completely gracious, even though I presented the gift cert up front. Unfazed she delivered outstanding service. Not the usual attitude encountered when dining between hours and with a discount. After perusing the ample menu ,I decided on a cheese steak sandwich. They offer many tempting pasta, pizza and sandwich options. However, I am always on the look out for a good cheese steak. in this town they are HARD to come by. I had heard the rolls are outstanding ,so I also ordered salad with rolls. Thank gawd I did. These are by far, the greatest garlic rolls EVER! Crusty outside, soft and warm inside. And swimming in garlicy goodness. The salad was large, fresh and not too drenched in a fantastic Italian dressing. I could definitely make a meal of those alone. When the waitress brought out my sammie ,I was shocked. It was absolutely beautiful. Big and crusty. Tons of meat and cheese. Visible veggies. OMFG. It was excellent. Without question the BEST cheese steak that I have had in Georgia. After the huge salad, two bowls of rolls, I could only eat half of my sandwich. I took it home and had an equally awesome late night snack. My roomies' meatball sammie was just as great. He devoured his in one sitting. They also offer a large selection of wine and desserts. The dessert cabinet will warrant a separate trip back. All in all good food , good service and no complaints. It may be a first. But it will not be my last encounter with Frankie's. read more

I've been eating here since I was a little kid. The food has always been amazing and the service has always been typically satisfactory. Recently, we threw a dinner party there. We initially dealt with the front-end manager (who is amazing) but at l last minute, we were in a pinch and had to deal with the GM. He is the most condescending, pompous, rude man I've ever met in my LIFE. He talked down to my family and I the entire time of our meeting. Wasn't he supposed to be selling us a good dinner situation? Instead I felt like he didn't have the time for us. If it weren't for my family, I would never eat here again SIMPLY because of that man. :( read more

Been here twice and have enjoyed it both times. Had a lasagna which was creamy and filling the first time. Second time had the chicken alfredo, and they accidentally-on-purpose "upgraded" it to the version with added bacon bits--an unexpected treat! Salads are big and agreeably vinegary; garlic rolls seem to be ordinary dinner rolls, but they're good anyway. Nice atmosphere. A little far away for me to eat here regularly for lunch, but worth the trip for when I've more time. Recommended. read more

My compliments to the kitchen - the recipes were wonderful - tasty and appealing to all. Plus, they catered to my specific requests on some items. Portions were large and prices were reasonable. The calzones here are amazing! The perfect amount of ricotta to mozzarella cheese ratio. Didn't give it 5 stars because we just haven't had good luck with servers. We often get the same young woman who never checks in on us so we can't get more drinks or sauce. read more
