Restaurant and the Hyatt have both slipped. We were down for Thanksgiving with the East Coast Kids and Grandkids and stayed at the Hyatt and needless to say, we dined at Padella on two occasions on our visit. Used to be very good as a on of my previous reviews indicated but has slipped somewhat over the years. Not sure when this occurred because this was our hotel of choice when my youngest son lived off Powers Ferry Rd but since they moved to the north side of Marietta, we've tended to use hotels and restaurants more in that area. The quality of the food used to be excellent though a bit pricy but you get what you pay for. Now the quality of the food as well as the service is mediocre but still pricy so not a very good value. First time we dined was late around I would guess, 9:00 pm. Not really hungry but wanted a little something before bed. We seated ourselves and the restaurant only had two other tables occupied so not especially busy. Granted there was only one server and one bartender present but even with that reduced staff, should have been able to accommodate the few patrons they had with ease. Finally got out menus. Never did get asked what we wanted to drink but the bartender did come forward with Water. Our server finally showed up. Not sure exactly sure what my wife ordered but I went with the Meatballs. Sounded like Spaghetti and Meatballs without the Pasta. About 20 minutes later, our order showed up. Meatballs were very overcooked, the marinara had been cooking so long it did not have even the vestige of freshness and the Mozzarella did not contribute at all to the dish. Mediocre at best and not up to the standards they use to have. Not sure what planet or server was on but it was not this one. Had to track her down just for the check. Tried them again for Breakfast and this was a better experience. The Breakfast Bruschetta was actually pretty good but not outstanding. A nice contrast of flavors and textures. If you do go for the Breakfast, the Breakfast Bruschetta is a distinct possibility. My wife had fruit and it was about 50/50 fruit with lower cost melon filler. read more

$18 per person for mediocre food. We went downstairs around 10am for the breakfast buffet. The servers are polite; however the food was only still a little warm and the milk left out for the cereal wasn't cold anymore. I understand that 10 is a little later for breakfast, but we paid the same price for worse food when we were already paying to stay at the hotel as well. Like I said, it was probably better earlier in the morning, but if you are going to continue serving it, it should be at a good temp and still decently fresh. The service was very kind but what I would expect from an IHOP. There's a beautiful view of small garden, but this feature is eclipsed by the airport-esque layout of the restaurant. Lastly, there's the food..if you're in the mood to pay someone to heat up some quality frozen dinners, then you'll be satisfied with about 50% of their limited menu. Fantastic service, not-so-great food. Stopped in for dinner and drinks one evening in Mid-November 2016 only to be disappointed by half of our order. I'll start with the positives: 1. They have great service. Our server Larry was professional, attentive, and very friendly. He made suggestions and answered our questions. He also had very good timing when checking up on us and refilling beverages. 2. I like the space. The decor was nice. The restaurant had a good ambiance considering it's location just off the hotel lobby. Unfortunately, I found the food to be pretty blah. There was nothing overwhelmingly special about any of our dishes. We ordered the Padella Meatballs appetizer. The plate came with 3 or 4 (I can't remember) large meatballs in a spicy marinara sauce and shaved parmesan. The flavor of the meatballs was good. However, the meatballs were over-cooked and slightly dry. My guest ordered the catch of the day special, which was salmon served over risotto. The risotto was actually very flavorful and the salmon was cooked appropriately. I ordered the chicken cutlet parmigiana. The chicken was dry, over-cooked and hard to cut. The sauce was ok, but nothing special. We had a chocolate mousse for dessert that wasn't very memorable either. The portions were large. In my opinion, the best thing about the entire meal was the risotto and the wine. We had the Canvas chardonnay. Canvas is found exclusively at Hyatt hotels and wad developed by Michael Mondavi. If you're considering having a nice dinner here, I'd say skip it. You can get better food for the same price elsewhere. read more

I am currently staying at the Hyatt Regency Suites and while I have a meal delivery service, I have eaten a number of meals in the lovely Padella. Both restaurant and bar are comfortable and chicly decorated, like the entire hotel. Sylvan and Richard, the bartenders, are great - Sylvan is particularly affable and the right combination of chatty when you want and sensitive to being quiet when you don't. All of the food I've had has been from good to excellent. What they call a "continental" breakfast comes with your room and IMO, other hotels should take note! The spread is unbelievable - from excellent eggs (they also have egg whites mixed with diced veggies) to both regular and turkey bacon well as regular sausage and some specialty kind (like chicken and feta) to waffles and hot crepes, a large spread of fresh fruit, cereal, grits and oatmeal with pretty much every topping you could want. It is tough for me to eat my special diet meals for breakfast with so much (free) goodness downstairs! As far as other food goes, I've had the build-your-own flatbread twice - quite tasty. Interestingly, while I ordered the same thing both times (mushrooms and fresh mozzarella) but they were quite different: one very cheesy with baby bellas and the other much less cheese and shitakes (the latter I got to go as I realized it was almost time for "Scandal"! They put one of those metal hotel covers on it and gave me real silverware and a cloth napkin - perfect for noshing in my room). Last night, J and I had dinner at the bar and enjoyed the excellent charcuterie plate - with three types of Italian meats, sliced fontina and provolone, olives and roasted tomatoes done simply in olive oil, a very light and almost creamily spreadable mozzarella with herbs, and perfectly toasted ciabatta slices (you know, with just the right bit of char). Yum. Then we shared the chicken marsala - J was shocked I had never tried this dish before,as much as I like mushrooms, but I had never seen it and always thought it would have a heavy sauce I wouldn't like. Not true! It had a light, slightly sweet marsala wine sauce and the linguine was perfectly cooked. The chicken and mushrooms atop were nice. The sauce was a little sweet for my tastes thanks to the marsala sauce, but it was good. We shared since we had started with the antipasto plate which is generous, but the marsala is just two small chicken breasts so lots of people would probably consider this a reasonably sized dish for one. As far as prices, I disagree with the note above that this is a $$$ place - I would definitely put it at $$ as there is definitely not "hotel pricing" here to the extent you see so many places.Prices range from about $11 or $13 (the burger and pastas) to $25 (the ribeye). That's what you'd find at a lot of restaurants J and I patronize, so it seems quite reasonable to us. I'm not drinking right now but having perused the wine list, was surprised to find how well-selected and well-priced (by the glass, most are $9 or $10 - wow, compared the the $11-16 charged by so many nicer places and especially hotels!). I am definitely enjoying my stay here, and the food at Padella is a big part!! read more

Didn't know this place was here! Had a great meal with a beautiful view of the outdoor landscaped waterfalls. I purchased a Restaurant.com certificate for $25 off when you spend $50. There are no restrictions on alcohol in that $50 total. Our friendly server, Karen, made great recommendations so we tried the Crispy Rice Croquettes appetizer & the Padella Salad. The fresh basil vinaigrette was so delicious. The bread comes with olive oil and very thick/sweet balsamic vinegar for dipping as well as butter if you like. Our entrees were both chicken pasta dishes and had lots of flavor - not overly salted. We had to bring home half of our meals to enjoy the next night. Wish we could have tried dessert but will do that next time. After dinner, you can go for a stroll through the outdoor pool area and sit by the waterfalls. There was nothing bad about anything we ate here, even though we had it via room service. To feed 3 people turned out to be $77, but at least it was a great meal! I had Chicken Marsala, which had noodles that might have needed about 60 more servings of boiling, but the chicken was juuust right. My husband had a burger which he would not share but he ate every bit of, and my son ordered a flatbread which totally wasn't a flatbread. It was a 6 slice small pizza, and it was delicious. If we want to spend another $77 we'll go back here, but we probably don't. Because Pappadeaux's is too close to spend that kind of dough here two nights in a row. read more

First time visiting after the Hyatt did a major renovation. The results are outstanding! Padilla has a wonderful contemporary feel, but with the warmth of the great glass wall overlooking the new landscaping. You can sit indoors with the feeling of being al fresco. The service was perfect from the greeting to the final bill, which was very reasonable. FYI, check out the discounts available through Restraunts.com. The food was above average and they offer some nice favors. We started with bread served with olive tapenade, then the smoked chicken and apricot bruschetta. For our main courses we had veal and sage ravioli and chicken linguini, which was very reminiscent of carbonara. Both were excellent and more than we could eat. Terrible food and service. We received our meals and two out of four were sent back. I'm a vegetarian and I ordered the portobello lasagna... I received the meat lasagne. My boyfriends chicken parm was dry and salty. Really bad. On top of that our server was more concerned with setting up other tables then asking us if we needed more whatever or how our meals were. The bartender was also yelling at customers across the Dinning hall. We spoke to the manager and he rectified the situation, but no chance I'll be back anytime soon. read more

Padellas is like other hotel chain restaurants. And by that I mean it's either a hit or miss when it comes to the food. Now this review is solely based on breakfast! I have been at the hotel for a couple days and had the chance of tasting a variety of things off the menu and all I can say is blah. It's not nothing special by any means it gets the job done as far as fueling your hunger! I would say that the scenery in the background if anything is one of the best parts of dining here. In the mornings there is free coffee and what not but you have the option of either doing the buffet or the normal menu. Best thing I had was the egg Benedict. By and large, in-room dining tends to be whatever. It's one of those things that's never terrible, but never great; and you really just do it because your flight just got in and you need something to eat, or you are on business somewhere new and don't know anybody. But Padella is actually pretty good. I give them tons of respect for making interesting Italian food. Their Caesar's salad actually has anchovies in it, and if you ask they will give you the whole anchovies and not just chop it up really tiny. The crispy rice croquettes are tasty. They are a little bland on the inside and need that marinara for sure, but I found myself craving them later in the day. The scallop puttanesca could have used more sauce, but A+ for having a scallop puttanesca. The scallops were perfect in flavor and texture. The gumbo was AMAZING. IDK, maybe it's because I just ran around the hilly area in 90 degree heat, but I inhaled it. It was delish. Thick, full of okra, full of heaven. On flavor alone I'd give it 3 stars. However, they are very creative with their dishes, the presentation even for in-room dining is great, the service is pretty good and the glass walls that offer a well-lit view of the pool area is just gorgeous. The overall experience was unimpressive. We started our meal with a grilled shrimp bruschetta, that was actually really tasty. But, it took almost 15 minutes to come out. After we gobbled that down, it took almost another 20 minutes for the rest to come out. A 20 min wait is not ideal, but we were counting on some fresh ass entrees so we waited patiently. I got the chicken parmigiana, my friend got the veal Marsala. My golly. SO. BAD. The chicken was SO burnt and dried up. The veal was dry and salty. Both dishes were lukewarm. I'm not quite sure what they were doing in there for 20 minutes. It seems like it was prepared but it sat on a hot plate for a long time. Service was below average. I guess if you come here because you're a guest, then I understand. But I would highly recommend looking for another restaurant to dine at. The prices do not match the quality or the service. I wish I would've seen these reviews before purchasing the Restaurant.com certificate. The restaurant isn't far from me and I passed by it all the time so I decided to try it out. It's located inside the Hyatt Hotel, so the ambiance and views are beautiful and the service is pleasant, but I wouldn't go here for food again. Drinks at the bar maybe, but not food. The food I ordered was from the lunch menu and it was bland, lukewarm and a small portion size. Parking is free. read more

I travel A LOT, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. It is very well managed. The rooms are beautiful. The customer service is spot-on. Mostly, I want to talk about the food. I have severe gluten-intolerance as well as other food restrictions, and I have had some horrible issues with food when I travel. Hyatt Regency Suites in Marietta really gets it. I was treated like royalty, and I was able to dine without issue. 1- Robert Wood is the Director of Food and Beverage. Not only is he an extremely caring and responsible individual, he goes out of his way to make sure that guests are served food that is safe. I've learned that it is always a good idea to call and speak to the Food and Beverage Director before staying at any property, so I've spoken to many. Robert was outstanding. He made sure that the kitchen knew I'd be at the hotel, and in turn, the kitchen prepared my meals perfectly and without the danger of cross contamination. I was traveling on business, and the company who was sponsoring the training didn't really understand how to work with vendors to provide a safe gluten-free meal, so Robert spoke with the Chef at the Hyatt, and they made sure I was provided with a wonderful, gluten-free lunch to take with me every day. 2- The Chef was equallly wonderful. Not only did he carefully prepare my food, he also surprised me with FABULOUS treats -- things such as a gluten-free muffin at breakfast (not on the menu), and the most sinful (but safe) gluten-free cookies for lunch. I felt as thought I were a normal person . . . in fact, I ate better than everyone else. On top of it, Chef went on a special shopping spree, just to purchase goodies for me. I cannot begin to explain how much this meant to me. I'm used to hotels slapping a cold piece of chicken on some lettuce and giving it to me -- no sense of caring, no empathy -- just throw something safe on a plate and be done with it. Often, I'd end up with iceberg lettuce, and a couple ounces of meat . . . and that was supposed to sustain me for the day? No way. Not here. I had so much food, and I felt oh-so cared for. My boyfriend and I have eaten here several times. The food is always fresh and delicious. Our favorites are the build-your-own pasta and salad menus. The house chardonnay is also very good. Service is ALWAYS with a smile! If Sylvan is working the bar, you can COUNT on a jovial time. This is one of our favorite places now, and so affordable for a hotel restaurant. This restaurant is right inside a Hyatt in the Marietta area and has free parking that is easy to access. The restaurant has an elegant feel, and a beautiful view of a water garden-type area. I understand that in the warmer months, they even have seating there. The staff has always been great, and the service excellent. Unlike a lot of places, Padella can customize your order, adding or subtracting items, such as removing bleu cheese from the wonderful cheese plate (our favorite item, and a great price for the amount of cheese), and replacing it with any of the other selections without a charge or complaint. They also will take into account food allergies and work with you, which is great. Padella has an excellent bar menu, which has very affordable pricing for smaller portions, though we usually make meals out of them, from around $8-$15 a dish, in addition to their regular entree meal. They have vegetarian options too, and have had no issues modifying orders, and we have yet to try something we have not loved. I have not tried the dessert (always too full from the cheese plate and meal), but they sound tasty. You can typically even get a great deal form Restaurant.com to try the food, which I would recommend. Any time we have used a deal there, they have always been just as pleasant as ever, while some places tend to treat customers differently once they produce a discount. We may never have found out about this place had they not had a deal there though, so I am glad they did. read more

We got seated quickly and we had a very nice view of their outdoor waterfall. The food is a little on the expensive side, but it taste very good. I ordered the Ribeye with a salad and I got a taste of the Chicken Marsala. Portions were decent. The bread is baked fresh and I really liked the three dips accommodating the bread. The bean dip was my favorite. They also have a balsamic reduction and traditional butter as another dipping option. It took a while for our server to clear the plates from the table, but I can say that when she finally did, we were fully satisfied. The restaurant is pretty easy to get to, as it is located in the Hyatt hotel on Windy Hill. There's self parking available and it's pretty close to the entrance of the hotel. Great service. With a job offer at Lockheed Martin, we came to Atlanta for a relocation/research trip and stayed at they Hyatt in Marietta. I really like the rooms and the hotel itself which was newly remodeled. T I was on yelp trying to figure out where to go to dinner and the reviews were so good for Padella we just stayed in one night and ate at the restaurant. The food was fantastic, service was great and ambience and view of the waterfall were nice. This probably wouldn't be considered a true Italian restaurant. The menu had a few more options than that. We went on a Thursday night, taking advantage of a Restaurant.com cert. the place was empty save for one couple, and a few people at the bar. Our waiter was saddled with room service, so we saw him infrequently at best. The bartender was very pleasant and profusely apologetic for all the issues we encountered..my burger was raw when asked for well done, salad was brought out with the wrong dressing and WAY too much time between waiter visits. Then add the sound of a vacuum cleaner in the lobby that seemed to never end. And, the phone never stopped ringing. At the very least they could have turned the ringer down. The veggie ravioli were ok, but drowned in a so-so tomato sauce. Atmosphere was very cold and sterile. I was hoping that a Hyatt would have had a nicer dinner place..this seemed like the cafe where you drop off the kids. read more

The menu on Yelp is NOT the current menu at the restaurant. The menu is currently very limited with options. First, the restaurant decor is fine - however it is in the lobby of the OLD Hyatt Regency hotel. There is a $10.00 parking charge. So, you better REALLY want just okay food before you come here. Second, there is never anyone in the restaurant - so you never have to wait to be seated. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer - we all enjoyed it. The rest of the food was okay - the meatballs were good as well. If you're thinking about bringing children - forget about it. This place has zero on the menu for kids. It's apparent that the person responsible for designing the menu is a complete childless moron. Here's a clue moron: parents can only eat where their children can eat. Hmmmm you should've thought of that. So, unless you're held captive at the Hyatt Regency there is absolutely no reason to EVER come here to eat. Just being real. read more

Very pleasant setting inside the Hyatt, with a huge glass wall looking into a beautiful vegetation rock garden with waterfall. Our server Larry was excellent, very attentive and reserved. Warm bread, cold beer and excellent shrimp linguine. My date ordered one of the few fish entries, but sent it back for smelling fishy. It was heavily salted and peppered and was okay by me, but ... Anyway they replaced it with the shrimp linguine and even gave her a free glass of wine. A great experience overall. We used a restaurant.com coupon. Padella is located inside the Hyatt at Marrietta location. We (party of four) went here on 4th of July, to try it out for the first time. The restaurant has a great view of the garden, we were able to choose where we sat. Then our server (Karen), came out greeted us told us that she would be taking care of us, asked us how our day had been etc. Then she gave us the menu which really has some nice items. We tried out the grilled chicken panini, the angus burger, the pizza, and ravioli, The food was excellent, Karen made sure that everything we got was exactly what we asked for. She suggested different desserts and gave the best descriptions, and made sure our food and dessert were prepared nicely. The food was excellent and the staff is top notch (one of the best I've seen in Atlanta). We definitely recommend this place to our friends and family and would go back again. read more

My daughter and I went there earlier this evening and had a great time. The hostess was extremely polite. We did not have a server because it was pretty slow, but the bartender was our server and he was great as well. I read where someone said the atmosphere was cold, but we just did not get that vibe. This hotel was really nice but the Padella Restaurant was terrible! We had reservations for Friday night 1/31/14. Once arriving at 7:30pm, no one was there. Why reservations I thought? I should have took that as a sign. For an appetizers, we had mushroom soup and the risotto cheese ball. Soup wasn't too bad. Needed more spice/flavor though. We had a party of 7 and I had the Chicken Marsala. It was very bland. No flavor at all. This chef was lacking salt and spices in all the dishes. Very disappointed. My son has the Lemon Shrimp Scampi and the noodles didn't have any butter or lemon flavor only a lemon seed. He (age 11) stated that my shrimp pasta was much better than this. My husband has the steak and he said it was cold but tender. My inlaws had the grouper and it was soo overlooked it was crunchy. My daughter had the kids turkey meatballs and spaghetti. Her meatballs were pre made and very hard. It tasted like it came from a cheap frozen bag in the grocery store. It was nasty. For a $200 bill (no alcohol either) and gratuity of $25 was already added in (expected), I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. I would take the time to go across the street to Pappadeaux or Pappasitto's Cantina. Too expensive for bland food! read more
