Old fashioned authentic diner, delicious breakfast. Two eggs, home fries, toast and bacon...sat in a booth so all perfect. Two of us started and three friends joined in and the waiter just kept coming back to take orders and delivered with a smile. Delicious bacon! Diner vibe, nothing fancy but just what we were looking for.

    Blueberry stuffed French toast

We stumbled upon this place from our hotel and had the BEST breakfast. The staff was incredibly kind and service was awesome. I had the country inn Benedict and we all split the blueberry stuffed French toast, both were favorites of Franklin Spa and did not disappoint!

    So fluffy!

Delicious breakfast specifically the fluffy pancakes. Nothing fancy which breakfast shouldn't always have to be. Don't miss out on the oatmeal and the hot honey biscuit!

Love the vibe of this place! Chill reggae music, nice waitress with pretty pink and white pockadot nails and good home cooking food. I got the Country Inn Benedict and I devoured it! Place for locals and beyond!

Very old school and off the beaten path. Recommended by my Airbnb host. Ordered the bacon egg and cheese on a bagel with a side of fruit. Sandwich was also supposed to come with potatoes/home fries, but I was given a burnt, stale hash brown instead. Sandwich was great, fruit was substantial for a side, and coffee was good too. Service was fine. Also I paid with a debit card without any issue, based on previous reviews looks like this may be a new thing! It's a simple, no frills diner that hits the spot. I'd come back.

Saw a big line waiting outside this place which caused me to ask the people if they'd eaten here before. Locals had great things to say so we tried it. The place is cute, relaxed and immaculately clean. Five or six men work as a team while one young woman handles all of the cooking. They seemed like a group of best friends. Everyone was happy and super attentive. I did not see stuffed French toast on the menu but ordered the regular French toast and it was very filling. Bacon was perfect. Fresh squeezed Oj was delicious. A modified breakfast sandwich was no issue for them and it tasted great. Liked their staff t-shirts. Yelp says they are closed today but we are there today so don't trust the hours posted on the Internet. We'd definitely go back again.

    Yummy sandwich

The food is amazing, with the chocolate croissants being extremely good, staff nice too

We have been coming here for years. The food is always amazing, pancakes are extremely fluffy. I highly recommend the stuffed French toast, I got it with extra whipped cream. Service was very attentive, they came around asking if we wanted coffee around five times. We love this place.

Nice lil breakfast place. Has an old sign out front. Decent breakfast. Coffee was a tad weak Waitress was pleasant and attentive. Western omelette was ok. I've had better. Hash also ok.

Lastly, we paid our bill and then the waitress said oh wait I forgot to add your drinks to the check. This was funny because she forgot our drink water, and I had to go up and order our drinks, but yet she did remember at the last second to add them on which was too funny. The food was nothing special, but overall satisfactory. What you really are paying for is the ambience and the view out to the ocean.

Keith, our server, was attentive from the very beginning. He has a great personality that all servers should have. We had the beef special and the corn bread for appetizers, which were both really good! We ordered the swordfish and the Naragansett fluke as our entrees. They were divine. The view is superb, setting genteel, and the breeze is a rescue in the summer. Of all, though, the excellent staff were effortlessly gracious and courteous without even drifting toward obsequious or performative. How have these elements of service been lost in these days of QR codes, devices shoved into one's face to process payment and extract a tip for pivoting, gum smacking, and snarky t-shirts? I am typing this review a couple of days after dining there and the prevailing, smile invoking, memory is of the staff. Surely this is place for similar venues to benchmark and for patrons to relax into. The Lawn Terrace is a sovereign remedy for a harried time.

As noted above we have eaten here in the past. We have dined with large as well as small groups and have always been pleased. The place is beautiful, especially in the summer. The outdoor patio bar boasts a great view of Green End Pond. A great place to grab a drink and an appetizer. We started out on the patio and returned later for dinner. Based on our sub par experience the night before (see prior review) I was committed to having a great meal. We were not disappointed. I started with the clam chowder. Delicious. Flavorful and loaded with clams. My wife opted for the lobster bisque In an effort to negate the lousy lobster bisque she had on the previous night. Mission accomplished. She described it as buttery and creamy. Essentially the perfect bisque flavor. Contained within the bisque was a tremendous chunk of delicious lobster meat . For dinner, I chose the baked stuffed shrimp. It was delicious. Cooked to perfection with delicious stuffing, rice, pilaf, and broccoli. My only complaint is that I believe there should be more than 4 shrimp at this price. My wife selected the Pasta Bolognese. A dish that she has had and several other restaurants in several states and she ranked this right at the top of the list. Plenty of beef and pork combined with a tasty Italian sauce. When in the Newport area I suggest you skip the over hyped restaurants and head to Johnny's for a delicious meal with great atmosphere.

We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. While we waited by the bar, a very nice waitress took our drink order--a lemon drop martini, beautifully crafted, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner. We're already planning our next visit--there are still so many dishes and drinks we'd love to try.
