This place is AWESOME!!!! Please note they have changed their name to Mercedes of Los Gatos They just replaced my front brakes (pads and rotors) on my 2010 E550. John did a wonderful job and in a super timely manner! Plus they saved me quite a bit of coin when compared to the dealership!!! These guys are super honest too!! I told John that the dealer wanted me to change my motor mounts and I asked him to look into it. Now here was a perfect opportunity for them to make extra money, but John took the car for a test drive and said "your motor mounts are just fine, they don't need replacing". He then went on to explain how the mounts are constructed in Mercedes and why there might be issues. He said they may eventually need replacing if they leak, but for now they are good. This is definitely not what I heard at the dealership. When I had left the dealership, I was ready to sell the car! But after talking with John, I had a complete change of mind about this car. He said this car should run for miles and miles. I HIGHLY recommend this place to get your car worked on here!! I realize that Yelp reviews are prone to hyperbole ("this was the BEST" or "literally the WORST!"), but there's no way for me to get around it with this shop. Ross has got to be the best mechanic I have ever taken my car to. I had originally taken my car to a different BMW shop and, although I was always very satisfied with their work, a friend of mine mentioned that his friend, Ross, had just bought a shop in Los Gatos. So, back in December, when I needed some engine work done, I decided to give Ross a chance (you can't ignore a friend's recommendation!). I called Ross on the Friday before Christmas and, when I told him it was kind of urgent, I was shocked when he said he'd be happy to take care of my car on the morning of the 26th (i.e., the morning after Christmas). It was a pretty big job, but Ross assured me he'd have my car ready by the next morning. Not only did he stick to his word and had the car running perfectly after seeing him, but the price was also right. Better yet, when he was working on my car, he'd diagnosed a problem I was having for years with my air conditioner and told me it just needed to have a simple part fixed. Other places I'd been to wanted to replace the entire system which would've cost me at least $2k-$3k. Ross said he could do it for less than $700. Since it was the dead of winter and I figured I wouldn't need A/C for a few more months, I told him I'd put it off (but, in the back of my mind, he'd already taken a huge load off my back). Fast forward to last week and me checking the weather forecast. I saw that we were on the verge of a minor heatwave and, shuddering at the thought of going yet another summer without A/C in my black car with black leather interior, I decided to give Ross a call. When he answered, he said he'd remembered me, he'd already ordered the part and it was waiting in his shop to be installed. I jokingly asked him if he'd ordered it all the way back in December and he just said, "I knew you'd come back." He couldn't have been more right. So, I brought the car in this morning and, in addition to fixing my A/C, he also fixed a few other problems for me (and didn't charge me for the time). Everything is running perfectly and I'm not sweating over the hot weather (no pun intended). If you have a BMW, Audi, Mercedes or any other foreign car (I think I saw a classic Alfa on his lot this morning), I'd highly recommend you have Ross take care of it. His prices are super competitive, his turnaround is very quick, he's really nice (definitely not one those types of mechanics that finds half a dozen things wrong with your car) and, most importantly, he does fantastic work. Car made a weird noise. The week before it was service at VW for a fortune. Decided to look online for something more reasonable, and found Greg. I called, 10min later I was there, he found the problem in 5min, a piece of the motor was broken. I left for 10days left my car with him, and everything was done when I came back. he emailed me the price. It was inexpensive, maybe $250. VW charges me $190 just for "checking" my car and not even doing a damn thing to it. Greg even replaced a dead light bulb. Since I emailed him when I have a problem, and we fix a time convenient and to me and him so I dont have to wait, and PROBLEMS ARE SOLVED. AWESOME service, TRUSTED and HONEST person. I've been taking my 2001 VW Beetle to Greg since we moved here about 1.5 years ago. He's great and I highly recommend him. He's done small stuff and large repairs - I like that I can count on him to be thorough and bring things to my attention. I needed to change oil and filter urgently before a long trip, and this shop agreed over the phone to take my car. I was in a hurry and asked about the price only at the last moment; the guy muttered what I heard as "fourty or fourty-five dollars" which sounded very reasonable. The work was done very quickly, but when I saw the bill, my eyes popped: $134.64! Just for oil and filter change! The same guy claimed that this is the number he quoted before. I've had Greg work on my cars since I moved back to the Bay Area a year ago. He is THOROUGH, fair with his pricing and is an EXPERT mechanic. He focuses primarily on what you tell to focus on, but if there is some other important issue that could be damaging your car he will at least diagnose the situation before seeing if you want him to fix that as well. I stupidly went elsewhere to have my Honda Accord's transmission fluid changed and they over-filled it by almost 2 liters! Greg changed my front engine mounts, drained the excess transmission fluid and changed a brake light for me & he only charged me for installing the new engine mounts. You're the man, Greg. I have been there alot for regular services and more serious stuff - he is great! He knows what he is doing, is very informative and constructive, knows folks in the dealerships, not too pricey....great guy. Did not charge me when I took the Jetta back a while ago when it broke down, but he helped me enormously. I even took my Chevy Trailblazer to Greg recently. He fixed most things and referred me to someone else to look into some serious problems (cos he does not specialize in Chevys). What a great service. read more

Been going to Franks for over 30 years. Joe and Shadi were there when I started and now Greg owns the business (Joe still helps out on occasion). Not the cheapest in town, but I would trust them with my life. Reasonable and gives honest advice. If he tells me it isn't worth the money to fix I listen. If I have a problem on the road and drive in unexpectedly, I get Greg's undivided attention (unless, of course, he is dealing with another customer). Franks doesn't need advertising because he already has more business than he can handle from word of mouth.
