I took my vehicle to this place in San Jose twice. They did a wonderful job, checked everything. They had to replace my water pump in my SUV. It cost 2,800. dollars at ZIPIN. I did my research and it was allot more expensive at other places. The repair was a 12 hour job, they did it in 8. Just took one of my cars to Zip In Auto for some work on Friday. This is the 2nd car I have had them do some pretty major repairs on. First time I took in a Nissan versa and had a transmission replace for a very good price and the turn around was fast. Nitesh also let me use a car for the day so I can get to work and back. This time they redid the whole front left end suspension on my lexus gs300. They did the work while I was at work and the car was ready by the end of the day. Nitesh and the rest of the staff are very friendly and they take care of you whether you wait in the shop or need to drop off for the day. Zip In is my Go To for our cars the moment they are out of manufacturer's warranty. They have replaced the motor mounts and struts on my 2006 Odyssey and just recently fixed the inverter cooling and brakes on my daughter's 2006 Prius. Both of these repairs were done at a great price that allowed us to keep them vs getting newer cars. We've had numerous jobs done there in the past with great results at a great price. I came here today after I was having a bit of a hiccup with my car (2006 Mazda3 hatchback-automatic). After researching online that it could be my throttle body and it needed to be cleaned I decided to reach out to local auto shops in the area. Nitesh was super responsive and recommended I call to gather more information. Through our convo he suggested I bring the car in the same day and asked if I could come in at a certain time however I wasn't able to due to another appointment and I asked if noon would work, he said that was their lunch time but could accommodate. I declined as I didn't want to interrupt their break but he graciously offered since it would be a quick service. I arrived around noon and was home by 12:30! The throttle body cleaning in general is pretty quick for a trained mechanic and Nitesh really helped me out. My car felt great after and I felt confident driving my car again. This will be my go-to auto shop moving forward and it's not too far from where I live which is a plus! I also love the waiting area. Super clean and spacious and they even have windows into the shop for full transparency of the maintenance. The work was done VERY quickly and, I believe, was of HIGH quality. I went back a couple of days later to have more work done, The A/C compressor needed to be replaced. I had to wait for the work to be completed... only 1 auto at home you see. I made an appointment for 10AM. The work took more time due to the wrong parts being delivered. The owner(?)/manager, Nitesh, bought me lunch at Subway. This REALLY impressed me. He didn't have to do that. Would Chevrolet do that? After getting a quote of $6,000 for two front struts, two front axels and boots, alignment, and three motor mounts, I had to make a decision to replace my old stead or throw more money at it to get it repaired. Wow, Nitesh is thee best!! I am so pleased with this auto care business, Zip In Auto took in my truck after hours, the mechanic knew my make and model and the particular brake issue my vehicle is known for. He told me what needed to be done and performed the work quickly. I am capable of doing some vehicle repairs and maintenance myself so I had a great feeling when he explained his approach. I came in to get my engine splash fixed. Nitesh noticed that I needed an oil change (which I did) and noticed some leakage. I knew I needed the oil change and I wasn't surprised that something was awry so I don't feel like he did anything unnecessary. He also sent me pics as proof even when I didn't need it. I appreciate that! At first I was a little annoyed that the labor cost of $180 considering that other places charge $80-90 but considering I got service the same day and got other things fixed, and took out my cardboard box, I think it's justified. Also, the previous mechanic (who I will never go to again) said I needed to change my oil after 3k miles. Zip has me at 5k which seems very reasonable. Extremely happy with their service, a family ran business with the wife managing the front and the husband with his team in the back. Great rates, no unpleasant surprises with prices. My shift gear gets stuck so I can't move it to "drive." It eventually moves after a hundred attempts, but after a week of suffering, it gave up. The shift gear didn't want to move anymore, just when I was finally going to a car shop to get it fixed. Let me back up... I've been having this problem with my car for about 2 weeks. I went on Yelp to look for a mechanic because I know a car dealership would cost A LOT more, and a hundred auto places called me back. The first one wanted me to drop off my car ASAP in the morning. I was like, "Uhhh I work... I can't just leave my students and drop off my car!" And I couldn't make an appointment after 3:00 pm. So inconvenient! Zip in Auto was actually the second shop I called because it replied quickly to my message on Yelp. He said I could drop it off anytime before 6. Then I got stuck at work and had to call a tow truck to deliver my car to the shop. Ugh. After I dropped it off around 2:30, he called me back around 4:30 to say it was ready! Wow.
