Marco and his team transferred over from SJ Auto Works to Campbell off of San Tomas and Camden and they still do their usual amazing job. Marco is always friendly, available, and willing to discuss what your car needs, plus he knows everyone in the valley to refer you to if he thinks they can do a better job. Their shop is clean, quick and close by. They always do general work like oil changes and AC refilling but they also do much more complicated things if your car needs it. Recently, I brought my Mercedes in and it had a stuck seat so Marco put the car on the Mercedes computer, bypassed the Mercedes control system, re-booted the whole thing and like magic, it works like new again. Campbell Mercedes Service - 2001 W210 - Auto Repair Near Me - Campbell, California

Gary has departed and Tom has sold the shop. Together, they took excellent care of my 1989 Mercedes Benz 260E automobile. However, there is new management. Disaster looms, in my humble opinion. First, my 260E Mercedes Benz was stalling frequently and I took it to Campbell Mercedes Service (CMS) to be repaired on three different occasions. Following my third visit it spent over three weeks in the shop. After several unanswered phone calls I finally talked to Technician Alexander who stated that he had test driven the car and there was absolutely nothing wrong. He also stated that all error code testing showed normal readings. Note: One might question this statement on the basis of the state-of-the-art of testing relative to error codes available on Mercedes Benz vehicles in 1989. When I went to CMS to pick up my car parked in front of the shop, it stalled again. I called California AAA and had it loaded on a flat bed and taken to Motorspeed West on Grants Street in San Jose. There, the mechanics discovered a leaky electro-hydraulic valve and simply replaced it with a new part. It runs smoothly now. Secondly, I also took my 260E to CMS to have the blower motor and regulator repaired. Tom stated that owing to "a national supply chain problem" he could not get the parts. He agreed that I should supply the parts and provided me with the exact SKU numbers. I located the parts and provided them to the CMS shop. CMS replaced the blower motor but elected not to replace the blower motor regulator. Reason unknown. This left me with no regulator to adjust the motor blower speed PLUS a $286 regulator that, owing to the long stay in the CMS shop, was overdue for refund and return. When confronted with my dilemma, the new CMS owner, Marco said, "oh well, maybe you can find someone who needs a new regulator." Third, during the several visits I made this past year I asked CMS to repair my windshield wipers and washer. I have been charged and paid for such repair but the washer does not work. I have made phone calls to complain but to date, I have received no reply. Bottom Line: Since Tom and Gary are no longer in charge, I am taking my business to Motorspeed West where they have demonstrated a high degree of competency and exceptional concern about customer satisfaction. read more

What a pleasure it is to work with Marco at Campbell Mercedes. I use them for everything, but most recently I had a front left headlight go out. If you know how it works on the E350, you need to remove the front tire and the wheel well cover to access the headlamp port. Kind of a pain for me since I don't have a good floor jack or all the tools to pull out the pins holding the wheel hub covers in place. I called Marco and without an appointment he told me just to drive over. I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes and he only charged me $40 INCLUDING the cost of the bulb. Try taking your car to Stevens Creek Mercedes sometime if you want to see what an awful experience feels like. I highly recommend Marco and his team. Holy wow! What awesome service Gary provided! You know the place is good when they're booked 2 weeks out from your original phone call. I brought my 88 260E today because I've had A/C issues for a while...with the recent heat waves we've been having it was time to fix this! The shop is easy to find and there was plenty of parking upfront along with reserved customer spaces. When you walk in, it was nice and cool inside...it didn't smell nor was it messy inside the office. Gary called me within a few hours after my appointment to let me know he found the problem and fixed it. He was also kind enough to give me advice on how to approach other problems I was having with the car outside of my A/C service. Time for another update to my previous reviews of Campbell Mercedes Service! Had an issue where my car wouldn't start and it turned on the Check Engine Light. But shortly after, waiting for the tow truck, I was able to start the car and drove it home. I go out of town for a week and when I got around to starting it again, the CEL went away and the car ran fine for a week. (Yes, I knew it was going to come back because it felt like an engine sensor issue which can be intermittent as the part shows its on the way out.) Happened again as expected. This time I rushed over to see Tom & Gary while the CEL was on so they could read the codes. Well, before I even finished describing the problem to Tom, he finished my sentence with "Crank position sensor". The DTC readout showed it to be exactly that. Was able to leave the car with them since they were waiting for parts on other vehicles they had in the busy shop. Less than three hours later, Tom called telling me the car was finished. So, again, full confidence in CMS! I didn't even bother reading the code with my own code reader. I went straight to them and was done with it. So, the moral of the story: You're not paying them for the work so much as you're paying for their experience and diligence. And, of course, the peace of mind that it got fixed correctly on the first go-round! They know their stuff. If you own a Benz, don't bother with the dealer. THIS is the place! read more

I have been taking my wife's 2008 ML350 and my parents' 2003 S500 to Campbell Mercedes Service for many years to Tom, previous owner. Tom was wonderful and did a fantastic job in fixing major to minor issues. Recently, I had to take my parents car in as fluid was leaking and the Airmatic wasn't working properly. I also needed to take my wife's car in due to fluid leaking and a routine oil maintenance. This is when I met the new owner, Marco. Initially, I was a bit worried as I have worked with Tom in the past and had a great experience. However, my worries were instantly put to rest. Marco and I chatted for some time and found him very kind, patient, trustworthy, and informative. He really seemed to care about my parents and my wife's car issues. In the end, my parents car needed a new radiator, coolant reservoir, and front suspension work. My wife's car also needed a new radiator, a routine oil maintenance, and a new P/S reservoir. I left feeling impressed with Marco's work on both cars. He even went beyond the necessary work by cleaning the affected areas where the fluid was leaking onto. When I say clean, it was extremely clean! I am so thankful to know that I can trust Marco and his new shop. I have no reservations in referring any of my family and friends to Marco. read more

I brought my car to Tom twice. The first time there was a crank angle sensor issue that he fixed in a couple hours for a really reasonable price. Tom knows what he's doing and has the specialized equipment needed to work on modern Mercedes vehicles. The second time, it was to diagnose an electrical problem with the starter button. He spent a few hours trying to figure it out, and determined that it was likely a $1000 repair, but he wasn't sure. Instead of pushing me to spend $1000 on something that wasn't certain, he just closed the car back up and charged me nothing. Super honest, excellent service. read more

If anyone is looking to have their MBZ repaired, and don't go here your throwing away your $$$. I have spent serious $$$ trying to have a climate control issue fixed in the Central valley. I own a 21 year old and 36 year old MBZ. on this occasion my 21 year old E320 had been seen by 3 different shops. When I inquired at the dealer they gave me a very SCARY quote of more than $1300.00. When I looked under the hood, I was convinced he was going to need laparoscopic tools (or the car mechanic's equivalent of long chopsticks) to get between the radiator and the broken part. At last, an honest, competent mechanic! After a horrible experience with Sears (see my scathing review last month) and sticker shock from the dealer on an obnoxious noise from the back left side of my car as I drove, I went to Yelp to find a Mercedes mechanic to help me. I came across Campbell Mercedes Service and read the reviews. It was nothing but positive experiences. I brought my SLK350 in and asked them to listen to the noise. Within 5 seconds (literally) Gary knew what it was. The dealership had said it was a level sensor in the gas tank that had broken free and was hitting the sides as I drove - and for only $2500 they would replace it. YIKES! Gary said it was a rocker arm. They fixed it for $370 and my car is good as new. The noise was completely gone. Great experience! I think we should call these guys the "Car Whisperers". They can literally hear what is wrong. They have my business going forward! I wish I could give them 10 STARS! read more

So I brought my Mercedes to their shop - a small place near an off-ramp on 880 - and Tom looks it over carefully, fiddling with things under the hood, and says he'll check it out. I head off to a local Starbucks to wait, and then he calls my cell - he found the problem, do I want him to fix it? How much, I say. (Reasonable $$$, he says). Okay, let's do it.
