This is becoming part of one of my go to as they are consistent. Gave the fish & shrimp a try and they did not disappoint. Fresh & Yummo!

I met my girlfriends for an early morning breakfast before the spa. We got there right on time and had no wait for a table of 4. Glad we came when we did, by the time we finished, the line was out the door with people waiting to get in and seated. Cathy took great care of us by making sure we had coffee and got us hot, fresh breakfast out. She advised us the fish and chicken wings would take longer and it was worth the wait because they were delicious. We ordered fish and grits, chicken wings with eggs and grits and the giant buttermilk biscuits were everything. They are only open until 3pm and get there early if you don't want to wait too long.

I've never eaten from here and being in Houston for as long I have...I'd probably get the side eye from people if I admitted this out loud. It's like saying I've never tried Shipley's or Whataburger. Ordered from here via DoorDash. Pic doesn't do the meal Justice, but it was damn good. Got the wings and waffle. Wings were pretty big. They were fried and seasoned to perfection. I can say I've been to many places where the wings were big, but undercooked. Not this place. It was all just right. I'll probably order from here again and try the French toast.

Franks Grill is little country breakfast/brunch house up on Hwy 6. Open from 7a through 2:45p. Not a lot of parking but you can find a space with a little patience. Walking in, promptly greeting, we got to choose our own table. The breakfast buzz was both inside and Togo. Buffy, with all her vibrant charm, was taking care of us. Super personable even though they were packed. The Boy got the pancake combo, 2 griddle cakes, eggs and bacon. Added a side of hash browns. Said he needed to add white gravy next time. MrM got the French toast combo, 4 triangles, eggs with added cheese, sausage. Added butter grits. Said next time he'd specify shredded cheese as it would melt into eggs better. I got the shrimp and grits. The 6 large grilled shrimp were plump, cooked just right. The dish had cheese, bacon, mushrooms and chives. I opted out of the fresh onions. Evenly dusted with Cajun spice, was pretty good. Restaurant/restrooms were clean even as busy as they were. Would suggest getting there early for booth, as the tables were a little closer than I prefer.

This is your all in one homestyle breakfast place that will leave no man hungry. Located just off Magnum Rd south of 290, other than a few hole in the wall places there are not really any good eats in this neighborhood. Enter Frank's Grill- unassuming, honest to goodness food. We asked our waitress (Carolina) what they recommended for breakfast, and she automatically pointed out the ever popular breakfast specials - choice of eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pancakes or French toast. And she sold us on them because that's what we got. Friend of mine got sunny side eggs, I got scrambled - eggs perfectly fluffy. The bacon strips were enormous. But nothing compared to the monstrous pancake! I did think the hash browns could be crispier on the top (and they were plain). Overall, even though I'm a hefty eater, I had to slow down eating the rest of those French toast halves. You definitely won't l leave hungry!

Really good southern breakfast. I was not expecting that big of a bowl of grits but was fine with it. I was expecting a different type of bread for the french toast but it was fine. Nice diner to get a good & hot breakfast.

My go-to-breakfast place in Houston. Never disappoints my appetite. Either location is always good.

Best Catfish in the South. The portions are enough for 2 people. The waitresses are very friendly.

Kaila took care of us and her service was excellent, she was attentive, friendly, and offered some great recommendations. While the menu is somewhat limited, everything we ordered came out hot, fast, and really tasty. Everyone in our group enjoyed their burgers, and I especially loved the Brussels sprouts, shrimp salad, and the crab puffs. Parking can be a bit of a hassle in the area, but there is a parking garage adjacent to the restaurant which makes it manageable. Overall, it was a great birthday dinner and I'll definitely be returning.

I visited for a 2nd dinner and found very few items to choose from on their menu, mostly sandwiches to my surprise. I tried both the burger and the flank steak sandwich and a tiki cocktail. Second, the service was awful. Tiki cocktail - they indicated they were out of one of the ingredients to make this drink. So I asked if they could just substitute that ingredient for cranberry juice, and they said yes. It turned out to be a decent drink even after the substitute was used. Good thing I didn't want a 2nd drink because our terrible waitress, who was apparently doubling as the bartender, never bothered to ask me. Steak sandwich - made with flank steak, sloppily put together by the kitchen staff. It look like it fell off the plate then they pieced it back together, but never made it nice again before serving. The taste was decent and meat was tender, just too much bread in this dish. Both dishes come with hand-cut fries. They were average at best. I've had better hand-cut fries though. Burger- looked and tasted good, the double patties are paper thin. You don't get much meat at all on this. I did like the taste of the patty though. As I indicated service was just bad. It took forever anytime we needed anything. I never received a refill on my water either. Even though I was sitting in a booth right next to the bar, the waitress never came over to our table to check on me. The place was sort of dead when I arrived also. Not sure if they are about to close down or what, you would think more customers would be here, but it is back and away from the main street of City Center and hard to find in the first place.

The dining room is chic and feels very upscale but comfortable with a large open fire kitchen that was really fun to watch while dining. They were very on top of service with both our dining captain and waiter checking on us throughout the evening. For appetizers we ordered the deviled crabs, tuna tostada and wood roasted carrots. All were great but I especially loved the carrots which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main course I had the chicken and dumplings, husband got the NY strip, our friends shared the whole fish and we had the cabbage and crab rice as sides. Everyone was very happy with both their main courses and the side dishes. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they sent out a s'mores inspired sunday for my birthday which was both thoughtful and sublime. Overall we were very impressed with our meal. Food was delicious but veeeery indulgent. We will be back.

You can choose whether you want to sit outside or inside and there are playground areas for the kids to play in the back of the restaurant When you first walk in, you will see a giant menu on the wall and you will order at the counter. I have had a few celebration lunches at this restaurant and we have never been disappointed. The food quality is top-notch and you will never leave hungry. This past weekend, we got the turkey BLT and a grilled chicken sandwich. The piece of chicken was truly big enough for two sandwiches. The bread was super fresh. The cheese was perfectly melted with a lot of places. Do not know how to do these days. I wasn't thrilled with their french fries this time, but I also understand that it was Mother's Day and it was very very busy. The turkey BLT was the perfect amount of meat to bacon ratio, which is always a great thing to have. Their prices are pretty comparable to other places, but the service that you get at Clays is top-notch and everybody is super friendly and the restaurant is always super clean and well kept up. There is never short of staff waiting around to see if you need anything or to bring you refills or whatever it is that you need. I highly recommend this place for any family function or celebration that you need to have. They will make accommodations for any size party big or small.
