Very nice, clean place with friendly staff. The meal I had was absolutely delicious- My husband enjoyed his special too.

It's been several years since I last dined here. Jessie's is a casual and inexpensive table service breakfast and lunch restaurant. My past visits have only been for lunch. Parking is adequate in the strip center lot. The menu changes daily with 3 different entrees offered with a mix of vegetables along with burgers, sandwiches, soups and salad, etc. offered every day. About a week ago, I came by for lunch. The first thing I noticed was a new improved interior. It was much nicer than in the past. The only thing missing was some kind of decor on the bare walls. Of the selections being offered that day my waitress recommended the 12 layer lasagna saying it was very popular. So I went with that and added green beans and a salad as the two sides. Along with a drink the daily lunch costs $8.50 before tax. I told you it was inexpensive! The salad came out first. Basic iceberg lettuce with croutons and my requested ranch dressing. The rest of the meal arrived about 5 minutes later. The green beans were just ok and the lasagna too but honestly not my favorite flavor wise. I probably would order something else next time. The best thing about the meal was the price and it filled me. Table service was ok but when you are finished they don't bring you a bill. You have to walk up to the counter to pay. I will give a 3 because this place has been in business for many years and is probably better for breakfast. However, I'm not in a hurry to return and should therefore give a 2.

At the time of COVID... the good: - PPE - masks!! - counter service - lots of regulars - good neighborhood spot - very cute and cozy - simple and no-nonsense place - basic but good breakfast with a TexMex flair - porkchop and egg - potato and egg the not so good: - hmmmm, i'm still ruminating... - nada

Good Ol' Morning, Yelp! I thought I was going to finally eat a blessed breakfast with my kids today from Jessie Country Cooking. Cooking huh? We literally only ate the meats , eggs, and pancakes. We ordered $20 worth of breakfast food. First things first, the service was off I should have not made a order when I heard her on the phone. The prices changed without notice. I do want to say if I pay for food and it's a little mistake I don't mind, but if the service was horrible, food was disgusting, and I paid what I could have gotten from Chick-fil-A.....now I'm just pissed.

If you do not like a VERY basic and plain breakfast platter then don't come here. Everything here is so bland and plain. I got the #1 special with two bacons strips, two sausage patties, two eggs, "hash browns", and biscuit and gravy. First the gravy is liquid, not thick and tasteful at all with a dry biscuit. I was very disappointed when I saw dry cubes of potatoes than hash browns, as stated in the menu. The whole platter was very bland except for the patties and bacon (which were of store bought quality). My uncle in front had the chorizo platter which was nothing authentic or spiced as you would remotely get at a Mexican place. Then we decided to give the buttermilk pancakes a try. This was the only thing that we liked. The only thing was it was less than a centimeter thick but for $1??? That's pretty good! The locals here are mostly senior citizens which makes sense because the food's taste is catered to their tastebuds.

The same thing happened to my husband, he tried to order three different types of drinks and settled on water. Then came the food order...I tried to order beef kabobs, which they were out of. The excuse was that because they get busy for lunch, all the kabobs get ordered then. (This was on a Saturday...) I settled on steak kabobs. Then my husband tried to order lamb shank, nope they did not have that either. At this point, we thanked the waiter and informed him that we wld go somewhere else. He said ok. That's it. Kind like ok, don't let the door hit on the rear on the way out.

Thankfully, the food scene in Houston is so great, that we don't have to settle for mediocre halal food, but this is not that. The customer service was great. I didn't get the name of the girl who took my order, but she was very sweet and helpful. She let me know that getting a combo was a $3 upcharge, and it got us a drink and a fries. I chose a Mexican type orange soda and it was delicious. The fries we got came out cold, but they got us new fries that were nice and hot so and the counter girl apologized for the fries that we got before which seemed hard, old and cold. So no harm no foul. I got the original burger, and it was really good. I like that it had caramelized onions and it just tasted very fresh and like the other of you said a hundred percent grass fed halal meat. We also got the hot chicken sandwich, which my husband preferred, because he liked the coleslaw addition to the sandwich. We also got garlic parmesan wings because of a picture I saw online, and I have to say the picture looked better than the actual wings. They were quite salty. I would not get those again. The establishment looks clean. The customer service was great, and besides the fries mishap, our food came out in a nice orderly time and was fresh and hot. I would definitely recommend to come here!

Nice size, generous amount of toppings (eggs, tomatoes, onions) such that I had toppings in every bite with my lettuce. The entire salad, dusted with a cajun seasoning, was a nice touch. I know. "Fine dining" and burgers? But that's what I wanted. I searched the web and found the Chefs Table in Vintage Park, and it wasn't too far from us here in The Woodlands, so we decided to make reservations and head there. From the moment we entered, we were treated like special guests. The ambiance is rich, but not overdone or stuffy. Simply classic and relaxing. Our booth felt private and unhindered by conversations of nearby diners or wait staff bustling past. Our cocktails were perfect. The calimari we ordered as an appetizer was probably the most tender and delicious either of us have ever had. And when our burgers arrived, I was so happy. It was exactly what I had set my mind on when selecting my birthday dinner experience. The blend of brisket and chuck was absolutely delicious, set atop a perfectly buttered toasted bun, with some crispy onion straws on top. And the fries... oh my! I rarely if ever eat fried food - so clearly this was my big day to completely go off my standard fare, but those fries had the perfect crunch and flavor. Apparently, when my husband made our resv, he told them it was my birthday, so our server brought out a delightful complimentary spiced cake dessert after we were finished eating - for us to share. It was the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Thank you to the entire staff at The Chefs Table yesterday, for helping to create a memorable and delicious birthday feast for my husband and me. We were seated in a booth that felt quite cramped for a business meeting. Next time, we'd likely request a more open, well-lit table. We ordered several dishes, but the Chilean sea bass was disappointing. It was dry, lacked the buttery texture it's known for, and was quite bland. We also requested a side of hot sauce, but that request was overlooked. To end the meal, we planned to order coffee and toffee instead of dessert. After waiting nearly 30 minutes, we were told the coffee machine had broken. Unfortunately, by then the server seemed eager to wrap things up and didn't really give us the opportunity to consider any other after-meal options. Overall, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and we can see why it's popular, but the food execution and service fell short of our expectations, especially for a business lunch. We hope these issues were just an off day, as we'd like to give it another chance.

"Celebrating Mama Bear" 04-18-26…read more My family and I visited Cutten Kitchen together for the first time, and we absolutely loved it. My eldest sister was the one who searched for places to celebrate our mother's birthday, and she definitely picked a winner. She felt like this would have been a restaurant our mom would have truly enjoyed if she were still here on this earth, and she got it right. Let me count the reasons why Mama would have loved this restaurant: the aesthetics, the well-seasoned food, the lively vibe, the soulful energy of the atmosphere, and the wonderful customer service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess, Victoria, whose professionalism and mannerisms were spot on. She was so friendly and welcoming. She held the door open for us when we entered, and she even held it open again when we left. Our server, Daniella, matched that same level of professionalism. She was not intimidated or nervous by our group at all. She greeted us warmly, introduced herself, and took our drink and appetizer orders with ease and confidence, which let me know she knew exactly what she was doing. She also offered great drink suggestions that we really enjoyed. I do not want to bore you with a long, drawn-out review, so I'll keep this part simple. The atmosphere is welcoming, with music playing at a nice medium volume through the overhead speakers. The dining room is extremely spacious and clean. Food Ratings: Fried Catfish/Shrimp Platter - 4/5 Both were fried to perfection, with nice crunchy edges and a soft, succulent, meaty texture inside. However, it was a bit too salty for my health. Fried Fish and Grits Platter - 5/5 My younger sister said she could taste the authenticity of Black culture in the well-seasoned grits and she enjoyed them. The CK Burger - 5/5 My son said this burger was delicious, and he tore it up too! The CK Patty Melt - 5/5 My eldest sister said it was delicious and felt like it melted in her mouth with every bite. Salmon Bites Appetizer - 5/5 Fried to perfection and surprisingly not too salty. Fried Plain Wings/Lemon Pepper Wings/French Fries - 5/5 Everything was served piping hot and extra crispy. Deviled Eggs Appetizer - 5/5 Everyone around the table loved these babies. My eldest sister said she did not care too much for the fried chicken tender on top, but overall, they were still a hit. Dirty Rice - 1/5 Too salty and too greasy for my liking. It also lacked the authenticity I was hoping for. Mac and Cheese - 5/5 According to my daughter, the mac and cheese was a 5/5. However, it did have a spicy kick, so my son gave it a 4/5. If you like spicy mac and cheese, then you will probably love theirs. Collard Greens - 5/5 This item stole the show for me. The collard greens were delicious, not too salty, and seasoned just right. Here's the shocker: instead of using pork in their collards, they used turkey neck. I was genuinely impressed because a lot of people believe pork is the only way to get that deep, flavorful taste in greens, but Cutten Kitchen proved otherwise. Blueberry Lemon Drop - 5/5 This drink may seem girlie, but it hit like a man. Sitting Sideways Cocktail - 5/5 This one hits just right and gives you a nice little buzz. Pineapple Upside Down Crown - 4/5 It was a little too sweet and did not have enough liquor for me, but it was still delicious after I poured an extra shot of Crown in it. Overall, Cutten Kitchen is an upbeat, lively, and soulful establishment that offers some of the best Southern cuisine in the area. I highly recommend this place if you love authentic soul food, great customer service, and a vibrant atmosphere. FYI: Parking is plentiful, but it would probably be best to make a reservation beforehand. I have heard this place can get packed.

She was pleasant and did her best, but it took a very long time for her to take our order, and the food took an equally long time to arrive. As for the food, it was a mixed experience. The lamb chops were actually very good and were probably the highlight of the meal. However, everything else fell short. The salmon bites were disappointing, and overall the food seemed to be lacking seasoning and flavor. The cornbread was another letdown. The only sweetness came from the glaze on top--the actual cornbread itself tasted more like a plain muffin with no sweetness or flavor of its own. I ordered the breakfast sampler with grits and eggs, but the grits that were served were heavily seasoned, dark Cajun-style grits rather than the traditional white grits most people expect with a breakfast plate. When I asked about it, I was told that's the only type of grits they serve. If that's the case, there should be a disclaimer on the menu because "grits and eggs" typically implies traditional breakfast grits, not the style usually served alongside dishes like shrimp and grits or catfish and grits. My husband ordered the lamb chops and eggs, my son had the chicken and waffles, and we also shared the salmon bites and cornbread. Unfortunately, aside from the lamb chops, nothing really stood out in a positive way. Considering the amount we spent, I left disappointed. While the staff was friendly and doing their best under the circumstances, the long wait times and lack of flavor in most of the food made the experience underwhelming. I would not return.
