Don't get me wrong. It was a good experience; however, it wasn't the experience we have come to love about Frannicks of yore. Upon entering we noticed immediately how cramped and tight it felt. Previous visits were open and relaxe. Today we felt tight and rushed. With the loss of an entire dining room, on a busy Saturday Winter morning, no waiting room at the front door, it was stress immediately because everyone was shoulder to shoulder and even the tables are really close together. Other patrons mentioned the same feeling as we were basically sitting at the waiting area. I don't pretend to know why this change was made. Perhaps it was a business necessity or a temporary situation. What I do know is that it isn't working for atmospheres. I truly enjoyed the feel of it. I have places I brunch where that togetherness dining works so it isn't a crowd issue for me. The Junction in Charleston is a great example of close dining that works. My breakfast was good but husband's scrambled eggs were too scrambled and dry. It only appeared as one egg also. Their grits had a great creaminess and my sourdough was awesome. New location. Wish the food had improved. The homestyle Monique has gone too far. Been to two breakfasts and a lunch. Lunch was decent. Burger was good enough but nothing spectacular. Breakfast is were the loss of rating is happening. Don't get the home fries. Either way. Steamed/flat top no taste. Fries. No taste with oil. Had an eggs Benedict that was full of egg shells. We got there 20 min before closing but they still encouraged us to come in and take our time. It's always nice to be welcomed in and not hurried out the door. I chose the California with fried brussels. Both were good, but the brussels were amazing! The menu doesn't tell what bread the sandwiches come on, but I found the croissant to be perfect with my sandwich. The menu also doesn't say the sandwich would be warm and pressed, so if you want a cold sandwich be sure to order it that way. My husband's club was different from what he was expecting. It was the cold sandwich with layers and a toothpick he usually gets when ordering a club. It was served hot on thick Texas toast, which is not his favorite. He loved the potato salad and said he'd love to get a big container full the next time we have a cookout. read more

The food was decent. I ordered to-go online and went to pick it up. Social distancing was non-existent and the facility was packed which is to be expected for weekend mornings. Wait time to pick up wasn't long and the order was accurate. The food itself was okay. I had the Bird's The Word skillet and my boyfriend had the Corned Beef Skillet. The potatoes/home fries that were detailed as "WELL DONE" were soft and the turkey Sausage was dry. I had to pop the potatoes in the air fryer for a few minutes to get some real crispiness but the turkey sausage was a lost cause. The corned beef skillet was better. The corned beef was seasoned well but the potatoes were still soft. The gravy was tasteless and did not get used. Don't know that I will return but try it out. Came in on Oct 28th, 2019 at about 11am with my brother as we heard they were open and had good breakfast. Came in and seated ourselves and hostess came up immediately and took our drink orders. After a few minutes we ordered. I had the country breakfast of 2 eggs over medium with ham, grits and toast. Eggs were perfect, toast was thick and good, ham was excellent, no gristle, and grits were ok but they were the "low-country" style which are stone-ground grits which no one that I personally know likes, my and my families/friends preference being good 5 minute white-hominy grits. Brother hax breakfast platter with scrambled eggs, country potatoes/fries, country sausage with the grits and toast. He also liked everything but the grits. We both had sweet tea which was PERFECT, great flavor not weak and not too sweet. Place was very clean, employees were extremely polite and professional, as a matter of fact we had some overflow on the wait staff trying to help us, which is never a problem it's not like they hovered they just made sure we had everything we needed. Spoke with one of the owners Nick (Fran and Nick - hence Frannick's!), great guy, knows his restaurant business. I spoke with him about his plans, he is going to get some pictures on the menu because they have a large selection but some of the items would be easier to.choose if you could visualize the menu item. Parking is ample. Prices are a little higher than say Waffle House BUT food and service is better IMO. Will give 4 stars for now based on: Service/staff - 5 stars Food quality - 5 stars except for grits Location - 5 star Prices - 4 to 5 star Cleanliness/appearance - 5 star If next visit is just as good/consistent will bump up to 5 stars. I ordered the country fried steak and it's obvious that they use frozen steak Patty's that you buy from a grocery store.all the Patty's have the same shape.If your going to make country fried steak you got to make it fresh not frozen I spent 13 dollars for the country fried steak that is frozen from a package and that's how much a package of frozen country fried steak's cost at the grocery store and there you get 8 to 10 in a package.Frannicks cafe really knows how to rip customers off. read more

Nestled in an old Waffle House building. Might be seat yourself, I'm not sure. This was our first time visiting, so one of the staff pointed us in the right direction. Table was clean and they do have high chairs-- they were on wheels, which was pretty cool. We were given menus right away and our drink orders were taken. Coffee was hot and fairly standard for diner like coffee. Our waitress gave us a few minutes to puruse the menu and I settled on the La Casa Grande-- it came with two eggs, grits, hash browns, choice of meat, choice of bread, and two pancakes. I wasn't super crazy about the grits, but I'm picky about my grits. I found these to be more sweet than savory. I really enjoyed the potatoes though-- they came with peppers and onions. I chose bacon for my meat and it was great. Pancakes were delicious, though I wish they had come with butter. I ordered a biscuit with my meal and asked for butter and jelly to go with. Honestly, I really enjoyed everything but the grits! No idea what my husband ordered, but it came with ham, hash browns, choice of bread, and eggs. He seemed happy! Our daughter picked at everything, but mostly ate all my bacon lol. Staff was friendly and absolutely adored our daughter. I just found my new, favorite breakfast spot. I found this gem of a place on Yelp and I was not disappointed one bit. They have installed partitions in between booths and everything we ordered, we devoured. We started with the sampler appetizer: wings, chicken tenders and mac n cheese bites. All were so good, especially the wings which are smoked on the premises and their sauce is incredible. I ordered the biscuit gravy skillet which is served in a mini cast iron skillet and I would definitely order it again. Darren served us and he was very helpful and friendly. My husband and I visited Frannick's one weekday for breakfast with my brother and his wife while visiting ATL. We tried the three-cheese omelet, corned beef skillet, Paulding County Platter, and the French Toast Breakfast. It was busy that day, but our server was super friendly, and our coffee cups were never empty while we waited for our food. We all enjoyed our food, with some of our favorites being the skillet (the gravy was especially delish), the biscuits (they slice and grill them!), the stoneground grits, and the perfectly cooked eggs. The coffee was pretty good, too. I wish I had taken photos to show the portions and presentation, but we dug in immediately. Their menu has a lot of options, and we'll definitely return to try more! This is a must-try while in Dallas! read more

Tried Franicks for the first time. My coworkers said it was pretty good so I was excited to try it. I ordered the buffalo Caesar chicken wrap and was seriously underwhelmed. The wrap had no trace of Buffalo or Caesar. It was only chicken, cheese, and some spinach. The chicken was pretty decent though. The wrap itself was tough and hard to bite into. My coworkers weren't too pleased with their food as well and said that the food a week or so ago was delicious so I'm willing to give them another try. read more

I've been a frequent flyer at Frannick's for over a year now. You can read reviews all day long but there's nothing like walking in and experiencing the environment and food for yourself! The owners are there literally every day- which is so hard to find these days! The staff are ALWAYS smiling and making sure you are taken care of. The environment is welcoming and feels like you're going to a family members house to eat. They have an extensive menu and serve breakfast and lunch any time of day! Which is great because my husband orders a Mac Daddy at 9 am most times we go The staff are great with my kids and always make small talk about their choice of toys they brought in that day. The place is cute. The table was dirty when they sat us and I asked to have it wiped down and the waitress wiped down about 1/3 of the table. The food was not good at all. Honestly couldn't eat 2/3 of it. It's hard to mess up breakfast. The biscuits were overcooked. The grits were disgusting. The food just looked like it was slapped on the plate. Franick's café is the perfect cute corner breakfast place! I've had the pleasure of eating there twice and both times the owner has been present, attentive, and friendly. You can tell that the employees and management get along well, which is a great sign for a restaurant. The food has always been well, seasoned and delicious to go along with the great service. I ordered through Postmates and ordered chicken fried chicken with gravy, squash casserole and pinto beans. When it arrived Gravy was on everything it even liquified the mashed potatoes. I provided a negative review while dining at the old location. I must write to say that they have a new location and it's terrific. We went for breakfast last Friday and the service was outstanding. The food quality and quantity for the price was excellent. The new location is a definite upgrade from their initial location. We chose to eat breakfast but they have a nice lunch menu too. The fried green tomatoes were great. The country fried steak was fresh and tasty. We will definitely add this new location to our weekly places to eat. read more
