If I could give this place a zero I would. The man who claimed to be the manager was rude and unaccommodating. We froze outside while everyone else was under the cover of a heat lamp. He offered to move our group to two separate tables, but since we were in town for a funeral we wanted to sit together. I asked him to move one of the working heat lamps... No go. I eventually demanded a discount on our bill for being subject to such poor conditions. He called me a bitch... And said "Now you get nothing." HORRIBLE - Had all you can eat crabs on 8/5/14 and was violently sick along with the rest of the people in my party.

If I could give it 0 stars I absolutely would. I have truly never had a worse experience. The food was the epitome of freezer food, and other than our waitress the experience was dreadful to the point that I actually walked out in tears. The 18 year old manager treated us as though we were below him when we told him that we were unhappy with the poor quality of food. (To you sir, please grow up. And to your parents--owners, you may want to pay for your child to attend a school to learn how to treat others ESPECIALLY working in customer service) On our part we did attempt to eat half of our food as we were extremely hungry, but less than half way through we could not finish it. The manager came to our table and told us there was nothing that he could do. At first it was accepted as we do not like to cause trouble or a scene; however, when the bill came I could not fathom spending even half of the money on the bill. He came back to our table and after again talking down to us, and treating us as though he was the victim instead of acting as a manager and handling the situation he decided to comp the table next to us for "having to deal with us". I am appalled and have never in my life dealt with such a horrible manager, or shall I say, spoiled brat child in my life. I love this place. My girlfriends and I go here every time we are in town it's so fun. They have indoor and outdoor seats all year round (heat lamps in winter) live music on certain nights and a good menu. If you like buffalo try their wings, their homemade sauce is killer. I wish the sold bottles of it, so yum. They have some really nice choices like a great veggie burger and some awesome wraps. I highly recommend this place, it's in the middle of the town and is a nice place to stop, get some food and relax after walking around shopping. Came here late at night after a show, mainly because it looked decent and they were open when we showed up at 11:00 pm. It was quite mediocre. Got salad and pizza, neither of which were very satisfying. The house salad (mixed greens) had huge chunks of iceberg lettuce that consumed the majority of the plate (not my preference). The entire crust of the pizza was burnt black. I was thinking they could redeem themselves with good service, but... no. Our waitress never checked in with us, didn't offer refills on our water until we asked, brought us the check when we had plenty of food left (which was fine) but didn't offer a box until we asked, and after we packed up our food we had to remind her to come pick up the check so we could head out. Had lunch here twice. Food was good both times. Nothing to really go crazy about but it tasted good. Atmosphere was nice during day very laid back and relaxing. The fried pickles were whole quartered pickles which wasn't what I was expecting but they were really good either way. Nice to sit outside... when it's not 90 degrees. We find ourselves in New Hope every so often to experience a wonderful, eclectic town and shop at unique stores. The town is beautiful and it is easy to envision life here way back when. A very fun place. Fran's Pub was a huge disappointment both times we have tried it. The outdoor seating drew us in both times and I am kicking myself for returning. We had what I am calling one of the worst lunches at this establishment not once, but twice. Perhaps for drinks it would be ok, but skip the food altogether. Who serves a wilted spinach salad with mushrooms out of a jar? They do....it was awful. Buffalo chicken wings were spiced up with crushed red pepper...since when? They were awful. Even the panini was awful, provolone cheese was non-existant, chicken was tasteless, spinach was wilted and old. Onion soup was watery and bland, french fries were bits and pieces of "the bottom of the bag". A simple lunch churned out for pennies, charging at least four times what it was worth. Our server was pleasant and apologized almost as if she was "used" to apologizing. Seems they are making stupid money on old, cheap, spoiled, canned and jarred food. We first went to Havana's, but after sitting for 15 minutes without seeing a waiter even for a drink order, we left and went across the street to Fran's. We sat outside, but had a difficult time finding a table away from smokers. That ruined the "fresh air" we were looking to enjoy. 2nd strike was having our beers served in plastic cups. My husband's draft was served in a normal 12 ounce cup, although NOT pint size; but for some reason my Yards lager came in a dinky plastic cocktail cup, probably 10 ounces. I didn't complain, but should have. When I got the bill, I was shocked to see that the beers cost $8!! We got domestic beers, not fancy imports, in small plastic cups! And the food was definitely below average. The fries tasted like the oil hasn't been changed in weeks. Gross! I will never go back. read more

I'm a local so we go during the week when the crowds are lighter in new hope. My wife and I will take our three kids for dinner which has always been great. I personally enjoy the hot open face roast beef sandwich with gravy and French fries or mashed potatoes. The food menu is pretty extensive and has a lot of different options to fit any appetite. Dennis (or Denny, Denise, Denzel, Daddy-D as I like to call him) is the most amazing waiter a 'young lady' like me could have. Denny waited on my friend and I hand and foot, gracefully floating back betwixt the bar and my table like a woodland fairy, prancing about the skies. I took my mother out for her birthday, she usually loves all you can eat crab legs. That was not the case this evening. Only two rounds of crab legs in over 2 and a half hours of waiting around. Our waitress Julie was definitely weeded and had a large section for a busy night but never came back with water, rounds of beer or even my mother and grandmothers dressing for salads. We eventually began getting drinks from the outside bartender after requesting them a few times from our server and not receiving them. After getting a round from the bar our server just refused to even check on us or look at us even when we requested the check. We went to speak with the manager because my mother was livid at this point and every table around us was also complaining. After speaking to the manager he said he would look into the situation and gave us 10% discount on our appetizers (that we never ordered). Frustrated we re approached him confronting him about not even ordering the food he discounted us on and asked for his name. He would not give us his name because he said we were being rude and that he would no longer give us a discount on anything (which I never asked for to begin with). He refused his name again but he finally gave it to my mother. Anthony the manager only made the situation much more frustrating. I have been to Fran's before to hangout play pool and have a few beers but after tonight and how everything was handled I'm not sure I will be returning especially with company. Enjoyed lunch at Frans during a day trip to New Hope and honestly we only picked it because the BBQ place next door (Which smelled delicious!) was BYOB! I ordered a Mexican burger which was cooked perfectly rare - always a plus! It was smothered in salsa, guac, pepper jack and jalapeños! Spicy and delicious - definitely not for the faint of heart! My boyfriend ordered the garlic wings and felt that they were too spicy! Our server was polite and friendly, although to young to pour beer which resulted in a prolonged wait for out drinks, but not a problem. This is a great outdoor seating Pub. Very low profile, beer is cheap at the bar, not so much at the tables. Really this place is best for atmosphere, we go there about monthly and the food is never really good or bar, just outdoor bar food. The service could use some help though. I want to start by acknowledging the service was the only decent part of dining at Frans Pub. I ordered the California Vegan Burger from the menu as well as another person in my party. The meal comes with fries a bun and a patty. The description says it has an avocado aioli which you would think would be a nice healthy dollop but I struggled to find the smear. Essentially you have a bun and a patty for $13 and some sub par fries. I felt like I would enjoy it more if there were toppings so I added fried onions and mushrooms which were $.75 each which is standard. I was told lettuce and tomato weren't on the sandwich but they could be added. I wasn't informed they were also $.75 for a single leaf of lettuce and $.75 for a single sliver of tomato. I requested BBQ sauce for my fries and was told it was a $.50 charge which I said was fine because I wanted it anyway. Oh and the kicker was the buns on my sandwich were stale and not toasted. Long story short it seems as if the business is possibly struggling to stay in the area or maybe they just don't really care about their guests because the seem to nickel and dime them for the most standard condiments or burger toppings. Aside from all of this the food was poor for all those in my party and pretty over priced and I wouldn't come back even if it was more reasonably priced. Absolutely terrible establishment overall, the sandwich I had was drenched in overly salty gravy and the roast beef was almost all fat. The mashed potatoes on the side were more buttery than movie theater popcorn and garlicky to a fault. Went here on a nice Friday evening with a coupon from Restaurant.com. Was pretty skeptical after reading some awful reviews, but went in with an open mind. We were greeted promptly by a very nice waitress, who recommended some appetizers for us. We got some beers and enjoyed some people watching while we waited for our grub. We got the hummus, which was good and served with plenty of pita wedges and veggies. I got the tuna steak sandwich, my boyfriend got the Tex Mex Platter. You get a lot of food, and we were stuffed. The food was good, not great. There are a lot of places in New Hope/Lambertville to get amazing food, but with our coupon we really couldn't complain. Our service was great. Flies kept landing on my cup. A friend had to send back a dirty cup. The staff generally seemed like they didn't much want to be there. HORRIBLE. I would leave no stars if that was an option. The waitress was rude the entire time and messed up two orders (had to have them sent back) then never put an order in and lied to us multiple times about where the order was. Finally received the food once everyone else we were dining with had already gotten and eaten their meals. Besides the service being TERRIBLE it took astronomically long to even get the check. Once given the check we had to ask them to split it into two and asked for the meal we had been given late off the check. After about 20 minutes we asked what was taking so long and seeing the employees looking at us and laughing and talking we asked to talk to the manager. The manager accused us of never ordering the meal and started an argument with us. Was extremely rude and said "he would tip the waitress $50 for dealing with us since we were such pain in the asses" along with other horrible things including telling us to get out and go onto the street in the pouring rain. When asking for the owners information he refused to give it to us because he was the OWNERS SON. Absolute horrible place with absolute horrible employees and manager. Don't go to this "restaurant". I decided to take my grandmother and my boyfriend to a nice Sunday lunch and stroll through New Hope. This was an important day as he was meeting my grandmother for the first time. We decided to stop at Frans during our walk for a bite to eat. I had a hot dog and chips. Within 5 minutes I was feeling very ill and was vomiting before I could even pay the check. I am 23 and haven't thrown up in over 10 years. Hats off to you Frans. Thank you for not only ruining that important day and making me lose a day of work, but most of all NOT EVEN OFFERING TO TAKE THE HOT DOG OFF THE CHECK. True Class. read more
