I really enjoyed our meal here. We walked in on a Friday night and were told there would be a 10 minute wait however I ended up booking a reservation while standing in line on OpenTable via Google Maps and we were able to get seated within 10 minutes so that helped. Our server was very attentive, and we ordered the bread, cheese and fig starter, which was fantastic. For our main plates, two of us ordered the lemon spaghetti- I ordered mine with the meatballs, and the other person ordered with the shrimp. The other person ordered the rigatoni with shrimp. While our meal did take a while, the food really was fantastic and tasted extremely fresh, as though they had started to make the spaghetti once we placed our order. I feel that my meatballs were a bit dry, but still very tasty. I was worried that only three meatballs would not hold me over for the meal, but I got such a large portion of the pasta that it was actually plenty. I would definitely return for a date night. I have been wanting to come here for a very long time. It is in Dadeland. My friend made a reservation. The place has lots of families and some dates. It is BYOB. At first they bring you olives complimentary. They were good ! I ordered the spicy rigatoni. It was 3/5 it was missing a burst of flavor. It needed more. We went to a private event here. The space is very cute, and very small. Not sure on a regular night, but for the event, you couldn't hear the person next to you from download. The food was alright. I had seen some Instagram posts and had higher expectations. The staff was friendly. The portion of the chicken parmesan was enormous. For starters we tried the mini pizza bread and salad. The salad was great. We also had the meatballs. These I did enjoy. The chicken parm was good and large, covered in arugula. We also tried the spicy rigatoni. I really liked this little Italian place. Fairly centrally located across from Dadeland Mall in Miami. VERY IMPORTANT: They do not have a liquor/wine/beer license! *BUT* they have a BYO Wine policy and NO CORKAGE FEE!!! (That's worth the 5th Star right there!) But the food and service is REALLY GOOD! I didn't think this place was anything special. I had the Chicken Al 400 and thought it was very dry and salty. Since they had no kids menu, I ordered the meatballs for my son. They were ok. I really wanted to like this place, but I left disappointed. I ordered the Chicken al 400 "Parmesan," which was not cheap at $33, and the dish just did not deliver. The chicken was pounded thin and it was mostly thick breading with very little actual chicken. Most bites were completely under-seasoned, and then suddenly one bite was so salty it felt like eating a chunk of a Himalayan salt lamp. The sauce had a strong mezcal-like flavor that completely overpowered the dish. The plate only comes with arugula and shaved Parmesan on top. If you want pasta, it is an extra $16, which feels excessive considering the entrée price. We also tried the spicy rigatoni, and it was unfortunately just mediocre. It was not spicy and it had the same mezcal-tasting sauce as the chicken. Overall, for the price point, I expected much better flavor and quality. Ambiance was nice and they have byob. read more

For starters we had the artichoke. They were so good and had a bit of a kick to them. For my entree I ordered the spicy rigatoni. I really enjoyed the dish. I'm pretty sensitive to spice and it had the perfect amount. I also think the portion size was perfect for a pasta dish. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu. It wasn't out of this world. Stopped in for a quick bite after a trip to a Dadeland and was so glad I did! I've been to the deli and their sandwiches are amazing so I figured this has to be top notch. We sat inside as there is plenty space and a bar. We started with the artichokes (delicious)! Order some bread on the side and the olive oil juice with the Calabrian spices make for the perfect dipping pair when you're done. The little antipasta with some cheese, olives and cornichons was also a nice touch. For the main I went with the Chicken Al 400 which is their chicken cutlet topped with arugula, Parmesan and a spicy mezcal sauce. It was fantastic. I highly recommend. For dessert we wanted the pistachio tres leches but apparently it's so good they sell out (it's homemade by the owners mother so it must be amazing). Took advantage of their Wednesday night pasta special! They have a few select pastas for $18 but be aware they do not have a liquor license so our waitress suggested we go nearby to a store that sells wine because they have a no uncorking fee. For dinner we started with the Caesar salad, which was delicious and for the entrées we shared the crispy chicken and spicy rigatoni pasta. They have tables inside and outside for dining. The entrée dishes are big enough to share however, I recommend they get some bigger dinner plates in order to accommodate the sharing. We started with the Seasonal Burrata with caramelized onions, prosciutto, & fig drizzle on grilled toasts. I could eat this for my meal! Then I had the linguine puttanesca with ricotta and added shrimp, so good. First friend had the polenta with scallop, mushrooms and capers. Our other friend had the butternut squash ravioli, cinnamon and cream. He said it was more like having dessert. Everything was ok. Service was friendly but distant and a tad slow. Ambiance was nice. A bit dark and moody which I always appreciate. We ordered a number of different things. Started with the Jholano Loves Fig. Again, it was good, but not great. The focaccia was very thin and quite stiff. No chew to it and felt overly oiled. The thin yet still blocky pieces of Brie felt like an after thought (if it's Italian inspired, why not use taleggio?) and a very small portion for the price. For the mains it was primarily pasta in our party and the ones I tried were the Zucca Ravioli and the Polpette. Zucca Ravioli was a miss. While there were some individual components that were great (the roasted pumpkin that was sprinkled over the finish plate was quite good) but there was no cohesiveness. Ravioli dough was tough. Felt like it may have been overworked or undercooked. The whipped brown butter was nice but far too sweet. And the cinnamon dust along with the overall sweetness, made the entire thing feel like it was a dessert dish. Polpette was delicious but for what I thought was supposed to be a main course, I received a number of meatballs in a great sauce, cheese and 2 tiny pieces of bread. It felt more like a large version of a tapas style appetizer. Rest of my party tried the lobster special and the truffle ravioli (again, good not great). For dessert we tried the tiramisu and the pistachio tres leches. Both were ok. Pistachio tres leches was very mild on the pistachio. Overall the meal was ok but the dishes didn't feel fully fleshed out and, short of the polpette, the serving sizes were a tad small. I really had high expectations, as my wife found them scrolling through social media, they push this cesar salad chicken sandwich. The sandwich looks amazing on social media so we decided to try it. We ordered the fig spread appetizer, it was 5-6 pieces of bread that had prosciutto and nuts with drizzle of fig spread. It was the best thing we had there. Hard to nearly impossible to park- No liquor license so no wine- (they have been in that place for 2 years!) We only could drink water without ice for inner. No bread offered. I asked for a piece of bread- they brought a full loaf cut up and charged $8.00 without first telling me that there would be a charge. We went on a Saturday night at 6PM- only one other couple there.Ww shared a caesar salad - good. I had pumpkin ravioli- very rich, my wife had ravioli with a while sauce- very rich. The bill was $84.53. I left angry- definitely never going back. How this place stays in business is totally beyond me. read more

Incredible service, we had a reservation so once we arrived we were seated inside. Our server was so nice, attentive, and helpful in answering our questions about the menu. We shared the "2am At The Pantheon" and it was almost like a flat bread., the hot honey added such a good flavor. I love the sweet and savory combo" we also shared Jholano Loves Fig and I loved it but I also love Brie cheese very much. I got the spicy rigatoni and I really liked my meal. Overall it was so good. But I highly recommend the chicken sandwich. They had one person working and it seemed a bit much for her to handle. Also, my friends and I ordered a glass of ice for our soda that was not that cold and the waitress stated they didn't have. You have to be prepared especially on a Friday. There is a Publix a block away go buy some. Do they not want people to go back? No liquor or wine so bring your own. I truly hope they fix the ice machine. Walked in on a Friday night to a half empty restaurant, no liquor license yet so they encouraged me to go to the liquor store down the block and BYOB. I got 2 beers for $8 and came back to wait. And wait. And wait. Finally got the Caeser salad which was ok. Then we waited and waited over an hour and a half and finally got the flatbread. It was warm when we got it. I've had better at Sir Pizza honestly. Not worth the hype. The meatballs and garlic bread finally came out another 15 minutes later and it was the best part of the meal. But for appetizers we got them last. Confusing. The tiramisu was delicious. Super light and creamy. The bill. Charged me $20 for a cork fee. Why? They encouraged BYOB and I bought beer. Nobody even corked anything and the waitress said it was for bringing alcohol in the restaurant. What? You told me to go to the liquor store lol. They did take the fee off after I asked politely and mentioned the extremely long wait. Then they ran my credit card after I realized I was charged for 2 tiramisu. I ordered 1. So disappointed. We live close by in Pinecrest (which has zero paid parking restaurants) but generally avoid restaurants with parking garages with their potential charges and credit card complications. Turns out that parking for Fratelli at Downtown Dadeland was uncomplicated, plus they stamped our parking ticket. An elevator brought us up one floor to street level and deposited us right next to the Fratelli entrance. There is a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The dining room has a comfortable dark ambience with mood lighting. Our waiter Alejandro was very attentive, other staff members were very friendly and the food was great. Most pasta dishes were in the $22-$24 range. We knew that Fratelli has no liquor license so we brought our own wine. Alejandro brought an ice bucket for the wine and there was no corkage fee. If you're concerned about how much you spend, I'd suggest asking what the specials cost when the server announces them. The delicious lobster ravioli that I order cost $54. I imagine the prices on some dishes may be high to compensate for lack of beer/wine sales. All in all, we had a most enjoyable experience -- great for both families like ours and date nights. Amusing side note: we presumed that a young woman at the next table who sat by herself for a long time was being catfished. After awhile, her date shows up with a bottle. I didn't have a good experience at the sandwich shop and this didn't go any better. For some reason, Google shows a complete drink menu and they don't sell any alcohol. LOVED this restaurant! First of all I like visiting restaurants after reading reviews or by word of mouth. We went there because of Mr. Eats 305! He was not wrong! All 4 of us had fresh pasta (Wednesday and Sunday it's $18 for selected pastas). The house-made pastas were tasty, creative, and the portions are generous without being exaggerated. For appetizer we shared the Caesar Salad and it is a must have. If you've never been excited about salad, prepare to be blown away by this one. Expertly crafted, delicious, and beautifully plated. We shared two desserts, our favorite was the pistachio tres leches. By the way, this is a BYOB restaurant and they don't have a corkage fee so next time we'll be bringing our own favorite bottle of wine. The food was well priced and the flavors were well balanced and amazing. You cannot go wrong with any of the dinner items on the menu. The lobster ravioli was delicious and we specially loved the heart shaped ravioli. The Chifferi Ai Funghi was creamy and soft on the palate and full of flavor. Additionally, the appetizer we had was a creamy burrata on a delicious bruschetta with fig and walnuts. Absolutely divine. The atmosphere was quaint and romantic. The space was small but lends itself to time well spent by friends and family. This place is a joke. Party of 9 WITH reservations. The restaurant was EMPTY. They told us we had to wait until they were ready for us. Several menu items are only available "to go" because they back the kitchen up. We decided to leave and they say we would be charged a "no show" fee.
