Let's start by saying that I have had an AMAZING weekend starting off with a Saturday morning & afternoon setting up my crib/nest/home for my chosen family and myself...deciding to treat myself to some "Retail Therapy"...and taking in a "Spur-of-the-Moment"...(literally) & (I mean IT) A Most Fabulous Drag Show (HUGE) Charity Special Event...BRAVO to "The CAFE" for hosting the MFD SHOW!!! Headed home and decided to get ready to go out for an evening of fun in the famous CASTRO DISTRICT!!! I had to run a few errands at the corner drugstore then went to see what the VERVE for the night crowd was like but it was 1:30AM...closing time...I'm feeling pretty good from the munchies and I was parked across the street from Fratelli Pizza...the place was jumping...the entire seating/table area was full, a small line out the door, the service is friendly and firm (know what you're hungry for), eye-candy behind the counter, service with a smile, these guys know how to move a line of hungry people along with their professional/friendly quick service! The Pizza is their "Crowning Glory"...(see my order)...this is the Pizza where you will want to eat the entire slice including the entire "CRUST"...(yes I said it)...whatever it is in the crust...is DELICIOUS...period!!! You know what I mean don't you?!?!?! You eat pizza but how many people fail to eat the entire pizza slice crust and all...come on...admit it!!!!! The only other thing I indulged in was a slice of Chocolate Mousse...I was planning on eating it in my car but decided to wait until I took a snapshot of my favorite items from Fratelli Pizza!!!!! read more

Caught a show at the Castro Theatre and decided to get a slice before the long trek home. Went straight across the street to Marcella's, and the place was packed with a line outside the door at 10:30pm. Walked a block down and caught Fratellis pizza with no theater crowd and was in luck with fresh pies that just came out of the oven. There were two guys working and they were both very friendly and accommodating. Asked for jalapeños and pineapple to be added to my slice and they also added additional cheese. I don't know if it was because it was late at night or because I was hungry, but that slice was delicious even after just having pizza delivery the night before. The Hubbs had a slice of pepperoni pizza and also loved it. He even ate the crust which is very rare. I'll have to order a calzone to go next time! I appreciate the owner reaching out to me to replace the calzone and delivering another one to me.. I accepted the new one and had it made with just mushroom, spinach and cheeses. The difference in the dough was unexpectedly opposite of what I had received before - fluffy, full, crisp and the flavor was quite good. The marina sauce it came with, that I didn't mention the first time, was very tasty. This definitely added to the calzone. I shared it with my friend who owns an art studio in Noe (Art Haus) and she commented that she liked it as well :) Thank you again for being so attentive and correcting this. Some more competition to the slice heavy Castro Street. I kinda like this more than the old stalwarts. It's no Tony's and not something you'd get in Manhattan, but it's fine for the Castro. Cheese Slice: Decent. A tad doughier than an authentic NY slice, but I guess that makes it more filling. About $5.50. Buffalo Slice: Two of these and bottle of soda will cost you $19.55. It's tasty for sure, with ample amounts of ranch and hot sauce so it doesn't dry out like other buffalo slices. Some tender chunks of chicken. Maybe my favorite slice here. Meat Lovers Classic Slice: It does indeed have a ton of different meats. And bougie looking charcuterie looking meat, not just your typical pizzeria meat slice. So it's hearty. But it's also kinda dry. It feels like they skimped on the sauce a bit. read more

Not bad, and good that it's open late. But I found the crust too doughy/rubbery - it was helped by a bit of time in the toaster oven. The sauce was only ok, it has some heat (which is good) but the heat's being used to mask some lack of complexity. The cheese blend was OK but tended too much towards mozzarella with not enough "bite" from other cheeses like pecorino. read more

Popped in for a quick slice well Two actually. The clerk was disinterested, barely got the order correct and questioned us as to what we ordered and paid for vs what he rang up in the register. Came across as rude. Don't bother with the pizza either. It was bad. Like frozen cardboard pizza No flavor what so ever. I mean the pepperonis was ok but no other seasoning. You'd think the crowded pizza market in the Castro would be saturated, but apparently not! The service is decent and Fratelli's is a no frills environment, but they've got the goods if you're just looking for a simple, tasty slice on a paper plate. There are plenty of varieties to grab, and fwiw the slices are slightly cheaper than some of the competition. They also have a nice selection of condiments for those of us who are into that. I ordered a pepperoni and sausage slice and chicken tenders and fries from this establishment through DoorDash. I placed the order as my bus home started so about 20 minutes and driver still had to wait for food after my bus ride. By the time it got here I saw they threw some cold sausage and a little cheese on a pepperoni slice and barely warmed it so the sausage was still ice cold while the slice was barely warm. The fries were just raw potatoes and the strips were hardly warm. It is like they missed the order when I put it in and rushed it when the driver got there with no care at all for quality. I had to cook my fries and my strips myself after a long days work. So gross. read more

Tried it twice now, both pizza & calzone are good. The pizza was good, lots of quality toppings. (sometimes Hawai'ian pizzas have like 1 piece of ham & 4 pineapples barely covering it), this had good coverage. First time we tried calling in a pizza order after looking at their website, was some confusion about the charged amount. Cashier at that time was unclear about price difference. Eiad (owner) let me know that there had been changes , but the website hadn't been updated so that's why it appeared to be more expensive than listed when I called in & picked up (vs. ordering online). I have noticed that due to surging food inflation a lot of places are having to increase prices in the last few months. That makes sense and I appreciated his taking the time to check and let me know what had happened.. Came back again today at lunch to try a calzone this time, Eiad (apologies, I called you Elad) was friendly and gave great service. The ham calzone was delicious, with both mozarella and ricotta. (and he was willing to make an individual adjustment - to remove mushrooms). So the explanation of the price change, the tasty food, and the service today means I will return again. read more
