9" Deep Dish Little Star and 9" Classic Detroit-Style
    Connie H.

This place has been raved about in SF and I am happy I finally got to try it. Loves: + Yummy pizza. You can get it deep dish, detroit-style, or thin crust. Detroit style is my fave with the crisp edges and fluffy crust. + Friendly service + Spacious inside and good for large groups + Easy to get reservations through Yelp The one note I would make is during busy periods the pizza can take up to 45min to arrive. So please don't come starving but you can surely come hungry. :)

Went in to try the Chicago style pizza. Was happy to find out when I got there that Monday's have happy hour pricing on beers so got a good deal on my IPA. Had a 12" custom pizza. Enjoyed the crispy cornmeal crust and good quality of the ingredients. Service was pretty good for the most part but did sometimes take a minute to get our servers attention. It was a rainy day outside but the inside felt very cozy and comfortable. Was not too busy that night and easy to have a conversation.

Been a longtime fan of Little Star and would mostly go to their old Divisadero location, which has unfortunately closed. Our friend had just run the SF marathon, so what better way to replenish carb stores than deep dish? We ordered the cheesy bread sticks, broccolini, and the signature Little Star deep dish. Bread sticks were solid: good foccacia, nice crispy cheese, and solid marinara and ranch dipping sauces. Broccolini was roasted well, although a smidge oily for my taste. The Little Star is what we always order, never strayed from it because it has everything I love about pizza: tangy, saucy tomatoes, veggies, and a thick layer of cheese on top of a crunchy cornmeal crust. It's always hit the spot in the past -- but this time it didn't quite meet the mark. Tomato sauce doesn't have that nice acidity that fresh tomatoes have anymore, there was a lot less cheese, and the cornmeal crust felt a bit under-baked. The experience this time around does mar my memories of previous Little Star visits; however, it's still a solid deep dish option in the city.

A bit disappointed with Little Star recently. I know they specialize in deep dish but i feel like the consistency of their thin crusts haven't been there. Lacking red sauce and the pizza itself was over baked. Chicken wings and ranch were amazing as always.

Service: We called ahead to make an 8pm reservation to try the highly recommended pizza here. When we arrived, they told us they'd get our table ready shortly. One waiter asked another to clean the table as he was busy serving others. However, even once he was free, he didn't prioritize getting our table ready. Keep in mind it wasn't that busy. We ended up waiting nearly an hour before we were finally seated. To be fair, he did apologize and offered us a complimentary drink, which we appreciated. All Star Deep Dish Pizza: The crust was nicely done, and overall the pizza was good. One thing that threw me off was the use of cornmeal it gave the crust a sandy texture that I personally didn't like. Burrata Caprese: They served three generously sized pieces, which I liked, and there was a good amount of cheese. The bread was thick, which isn't typical for this kind of appetizer, but I actually liked it! It was an okay pizza spot. Not my first choice, but I'd be willing to come again

I love little star pizza. The deep dish is really good. I have been to the divisadero location before which I think closed or doesn't really serve pizza now. This location still serves pizza. Pretty good prices and big portions. Very filling. The deep dish crust is not too thick and it's crispy. I like the amount of gooey cheese they put on. We got the pesto chicken and the classic which has pepper and sausage. We also got the cauliflower app which was very good too. A pile of cauliflower and the seasoning on it kinda made it taste like calamari, in a good way. We also ordered chicken wings. Each chicken wing was pretty small but had a good flavor. The desserts are very good as well. The lemon bar wasn't too sour and tasted home made. Cheesecake was very creamy and the brownie very chocolatey. They put so much ice cream on the brownie which I appreciate. I got a glass of Prosecco, it was a little too dry for me. Def recommend coming her for a relaxing time and good food.

    $13 - salted-rimmed Margarita

    2nd-time in-a-row I've been disappointed by Little Star: "salted-rimmed Margherita." $13 - what a joke.

After mourning the closure of the Divisadero location (RIP), we ventured to the Mission Street spot for a late lunch. The vibe here is much brighter, with big windows that give it a lively and airy feel, definitely a nice change of pace. We lucked out with happy hour pricing on a pitcher of beer, which paired perfectly with a large Caesar salad and a big pie (broccolini, mushrooms, and sausage) to share. The salad was spot on! tender lettuce and what I'm almost certain were house-made croutons (delicious and crunchy!). The pizza was flavorful and well-cooked, but the broccolini didn't quite shine as a pizza topping. We found ourselves hunting for it on the pie. Still, with great happy hour deals and solid lunch specials, this spot is worth the trek.

Excellent service, prices fair, expect a wait for your deep dish. Street parking is hit or miss, the place is a clean establishment. Would come here again. Pro tip, put honey on the deep dish crust

Came before the crowd nice and quiet. Server was super friendly and knowledgeable. Had mixed salad, garlic cheese bread, deep dish bbq chicken pizza and deep dish pepperoni/sausage

Came here for happy hour and it's an excellent deal; $7 personal pizzas, $5 glasses of wine, $7 meatballs. We also got a cauliflower appetizer - would definitely order again - and a large Green Goddess Salad which was delicious and filling, with a lot of the dressing on the bottom. The server was attentive in filling our waters and taking our orders. The seating area is medium-sized and wasn't too busy at 5pm. Happy hour ends at 5:30, but I would definitely come back to try some of their signature pies.

Half and half Little Star Thin Crust Pizza and All-Star Thin Crust Pizza
    Jeffrey W.

Pizza that you can customize across deep dish, thin crust, Detroit style?! Why do other chains not do this... Got to try half half for thin crust and deep dish. That's a hack I learned from reading other Yelp reviews btw. Also ask for honey because it goes rly well with the saltier pizzas Servers were nice but food came out a bit slow. Will definitely come back in the future

I've been here many times and they never disappoint! I love the ability to choose my own toppings for the deep dish pizza. While the deep dish takes a bit of time to make, it's very worth it. It's cute and casual inside, and can get busy on the weekends, so I would recommend a reservation.

Every time I've gone they've served drinks in plastic cups, but since it's so busy during First Thursdays, I'm not sure if that's their normal setup or just something they do to keep things moving during the event. I got the We've Got the Beet cocktail with mezcal, beet reduction, ginger, fresh citrus, thyme and firewater bitters. I love mezcal's smoky flavors and was drawn to the combination of ginger, citrus and mezcal flavors in the drink. The cocktail was very good and had a nice smokiness from the mezcal, along with the kick from the ginger and zest from the citrus, creating a refreshing and tasty drink. My friend got the About Thyme, with gin, blackberry liquor, black pepper thyme syrup and fresh citrus. We both really liked his drink as well, which had an interesting kick from the black pepper thyme syrup that offset the gin and blackberry liquor nicely. While we only had time to grab a drink each, we were both very happy with the drinks and would definitely come back the next time we're in the area.
