Well thanks to Yelp once again (4/21/22), we found a gem in Gallup, NM. Our drive has been long and flying would be so much faster, but then again we wouldn't have found this ahhhhmazing restaurant. Totally liking what we saw in a few pics and craving Italian, we headed out. We arrived right before it started to get super busy around 4:30-5pm. Greeted and sat promptly by the hostess in a very large booth. We wanted some wine and asked our young hostess to have a little taste of the wines we were interested in. She asked her manager and the manager came over and okay'd it. Unbeknownst to us the manager Ruth was the owner. My husband ordered Chianti and really liked it and only $7.00 per glass, great price for any glass of wine. Not a lot of choices, but why make it difficult to decide?! Because I get red wine migraines, I opted for the Chardonnay which was good too. The restaurant is owned and operated by the entire family. The 5 kids serve and bus tables, husband in the kitchen and Ruthie herself waits on her customers. I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with her as I wanted to know about her restaurant. I loved the fact that she sat down while my husband was in the mens room to share about her business and family. Now that is great & personable customer service. We asked what she recommended and we were given several recommendations. We chose the homemade lasagna that Ruth makes. We were NOT disappointed!! The sauce was seasoned perfectly along with chopped onions and small diced tomatoes, not over sauced with yummy meat between the layers and whipped ricotta. But first out dinner salad with crisp romaine and homemade balsamic dressing, again very good. The bread she brought us is not like any we have had at an Italian restaurant. Triangle pieces of dense buttered baked bread with marinara sauce for dipping. Truly a scrumptious beginning to our meal. I was told that many of the recipes are family recipes. Ruth's uncle started the restaurant and then Ruth purchased it because she loves food and people. That was very apparent when I talked with her; very kind, sweet & personable not to mention a hard worker as she buzzed around helping wait on customers and serve them. On to dessert, once again asked her opinion and she mentioned the tiramisu, but said the gelato is made every other day fresh. Of course we opted for that. And as busy as it was by this time, she kindly brought us over some samples of her favs. We indeed were once again loving our gelato selections. Tip: the pizza looked really yummy. The crust is hand tossed. My only regret is I can't eat there again since we leave the next morning. So if you find yourself passing through Gallup, do your taste buds a favor and stop in and enjoy great food and a great family. Thanks Ruth for a wonderful meal at a great price!! Best place to eat in Gallup. We travel from Farmington through Gallup at least once a month on our way to AZ. On our way home we saw signs for Fratelli's and decided to stop in. We are so glad we did! Fratelli's is locally owned by Ruth who is one of the most authentic and friendly people we've had the pleasure of meeting. The food is top tier! We got the homemade Hawaiian pizza, pesto, and New Mexico roadrunner - absolutely delicious. Ruth brought us over their signature Alfredo fries, talk about a guilty pleasure! So tasty! Next time we go through we are trying the wings too. We capped off dinner with their homemade Gelato and sorbet, talk about the proverbial "icing on the cake" 5 out of 5 stars. We will absolutely be stopping there every time we drive through. read more

We stopped at Frattelli's on our way back home to AZ . We arrived and Ruth(the owner) greeted us with a smile and quick step to our table outside. We had our two small pets with us and Ruth was sweet and greeted our girls with a cute greeting. We had two side salads and marina with some crust bread, which was delicious. Our entrees, were Scallopini and New Mexico linguine... sauces on both dishes were amazing and the rest of the dish was prepared perfectly. NY cheesecake for dessert which was perfect with our meal. visited in July on our road trip. Interesting place from the outside considering its an Italian restaurant located in Gallup. Was not sure what to expect. Very pleased with the service from Danielle who made some recommendations. Our food (pizza and chicken dinner) came out quickly and was delicious! Surprise no leftovers at all! Very very good considering I was in New Mexico. I'm from New Jersey with the fried squid was good was very good. We had really high expectations due to the rave reviews on Yelp. In fact the real decision maker was when we read about the fresh baked bread with marinara sauce. And that's where it started to fall apart for us. The pizza guy makes the bread and I'm assuming he was late because we were there at 5:40 and he was just arriving. So no fresh bread for us. Then dinner arrived and it too wasn't fabulous. I had chicken piccata and my husband the Cesar salad. Both were reasonable, but we were expecting deliciousness. In their favor the gelato was good and the Chianti was very good, so I guess it was a partial win. Just not worth a return trip from us. read more

We were passing through Gallup on our Route 66 trip and read about this place on yelp. We ordered the Lobster Ravioli, salad, bread (not to be missed), and New York cheesecake. Everything was amazing. The pasta was fabulous. I would not have changed a thing. If you're entrée doesn't come with bread be sure to order it. You will love this. I had one bite and asked the waitress if I could order something else and she told me I would still have to pay for it and whatever else they brought me. I paid and left without eating. Wonderful pizza and dog friendly patio! We had a cauliflower crust carnivore pizza and it was so yummy. The marinara sauce makes the pizza crust extremely flavorful. Ruth recommended the 1/2 order of Fettuccine fries. So good! Great recommendation if you've never been here or want to try something new. They have homemade ice cream we were tempted but too full to try. The restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful. The ambiance was very friendly and laid back. Highly recommended. Pizza was very thick, doughy, but incredibly cheesy! I enjoyed that but I had better pizza before. My son was so tired and fell off the chair and I immediately responded to his aid, while everyone else (staff) watched and one laughed. No assistance or "is he okay?" So that was kind of annoying. Been going to fratelli's for YEARS! Amazing wings, great gelato, and the service is impeccable (shout out to Ruth!). Favorites have to be the Alfredo fries, poor boy/traditional wings, and any of their pizzas. Calzones do take a bit of a time, but are great. read more

After a short 7 minute drive we sat down to eat and found the calzone pretty much raw and the meatball linguine watery and under seasoned as well as cold. The linguine was way over cooked almost mush. After reading the reviews we had high hopes. Maybe it was an off day as they were busy and most the staff seemed frazzled and scattered. While waiting for our food we heard a number of people complaining about not being served even though they had a table and had been waiting for staff to come take their order for some time, having to wait so long for to go orders, and even having reservations and sitting having to wait over 30 minutes and still not being seated despite having given ample time to prepare. read more

We had the Macaroni and Cheese and a Thin Crust Gluten Free Pizza. The Macaroni and Cheese was fine, but the pizza was really good for gluten free!! Gorgeous mushrooms, delicious and flavourful Italian sausage with a generous amount of stringy, melty cheese!! The crust had bite until the edge and that was yummy and crunchy. We were staying overnight in Gallup and we're in the mood for Italian. As there were not many Italian restaurants, we chose Fratelli's. We were seated promptly and asked for our drink order. My husband chose a draft draft beer which was no longer available, so he chose another. He was pleased. We decided on our selections and I ordered the Garlic Rosemary Salmon with penne and grilled green beans. The menu stated that all entrees came with a salad. I ordered a salad with balsamic dressing on the side. Our server told me I had to choose between the green beans and the salad as the computer would not allow both. This clearly was not stated on the menu, so I chose the green beans. My husband ordered the Alfredo with bow tie pasta and wanted to add chicken. He ordered a salad with Bleu cheese f dressing. The server brought his salad with balsamic. I brought that to her attention that he wanted Bleu cheese. I guess the salad that I expected with the balsamic was sadly discarded. Our entrees were delivered by someone other than our server. My salmon was poached and not pan seared as described and the green beans were boiled and not grilled. The salmon had no garlic or rosemary seasoning as described. My husband's entree had a small amount of pasta, very little Alfredo sauce and no chicken. Our server only came back to our table to ask if we saved room for dessert when my husband, after eating half his meal, stated that he did not receive chicken. She asked if he still wanted it, he said no and to take it off the menu. We were very disappointed in the many missteps in our experience, the quality and quantity of food and now know that Italian is probably best enjoyed elsewhere than in Gallup. read more

We were only in Gallup for the night and Dwight said the desk clerk at our hotel told him Fratelli's had the best chicken scallopini she ever had and since that is one of my favorites he wanted to make sure I got the best. We drove over and sat on the covered patio. There was a storm rolling in and the temperature dropped about 20 degrees while we were sitting there but the light rain storm left us a beautiful sunset. I of course had the chicken scaloppini (with bowtie pasta because spaghetti doesn't agree with me anymore) and Dwight had the Fratelli's Carbonara. It came with salad and garlic bread and we had ordered cheese bread so we were breaded out! It was complimented by a nice glass wine. I came here with my parents, and I wanted to see what all of the rave was about. I tried the Spicy Alfredo over Linguini , and I was excited to see what flavors would be presented within this dish! I ordered the Garlic Red Chili dry rubbed wings as an appetizer , and was overwhelmed by the deliciousness of spice and flavor that these wings had!!! When my main dish arrived, I took the first bite and tasted hints of garlic, red pepper, and that savoriness of olive oil and fresh garlic combined! I finished the pasta down to the last bite. On a long drive from Santa Fe to Flagstaff, we were in the need of some good food. Once we hit the first decent-sized town, we pulled out Yelp and searched for a goodie. Fratelli's Bistro was one of the restaurants that came up and we were sold when we saw Alfredo fries were highly recommended by Yelpers. Didn't really know what that would entail but you can't say no to Alfredo fries. Fratelli's is located in a small shopping center so we were able to park easily. The restaurant is large and it was full on a Friday night. As you're waiting to be seated, they have gelato at the counter which is a great sales tactic. We were too stuffed for dessert after our meal but it was tempting. Started off with the Alfredo fries of course which was enough for an entree for two even though it was an appetizer. Take a bunch of fries, smother them in Alfredo sauce, cheese, bacon, and banana peppers, and there you have it. Addictive! They also start you off with some warm bread which was a nice touch. Split the vodka pasta which comes with sausage which was also quite good. They give you a side salad with your entree. So much food! Had like four boxes upon leaving, enough for another two meals. More places need to do Alfredo fries, they were glorious! read more

Pizza or pasta or calzones or subs or kids meal. Oh, and delicious Wings! Nice salads. Great appetizers. Italian (or American) soda and Italian deserts. Nice beer and wine selection. And a wide variety Gelato you can order for the meal or for carry out! Food quality is excellent with individual dishes tasting anywhere from good to fantastic depending on taste. Environment is relaxing and fun, and also better than most local restaurants. Owner-manager is always working to improve the very pleasant indoor or outdoor ambiance. You can order a fifty dollar meal, or get out with a twenty dollar excellent and always filling wholesome meal. Now: the best part is the kind, interested, caring staff. Gallup consistently in delivers. I'm always disappointed with dining options as I pass through and still, geographically I can't get there without being hungry, damnit. This time I tried to find a few places that were open a 8pm on a SATURDAY NIGHT! Everything was closed because the local Gallupians were getting their weekly tetanus shots I guess. This place was advertised for miles since the AZ state line, it was open and we went. Surprise! They were open, had tasty food, nice servers and packed with late night (8pm) diners. There are days when this place is absolutely insane, every table food, quite boisterous. Usually Fridays and Saturdays. I'm here to tell ya: if you'd like a leisurely lunch without the cacophony, come at mid-week for lunch The food is usually very good. My go-to here is the poor boy wings. So much so that I brought my Italian-*Italian* friends here For The Poor Boy Wings; they luvd it! The most unique dish in all of Gallup, IMO. But today I want to praise the servers: I love Diana, and Aleta (from waaay back) and Amanda and some of the others (so sorry, I can't recall everyone's names rt now ) . Today, it was all about Ruthie. Literally. Bc when I arrived around 1215, she was the only one on the floor; it wasn't nuts yet, but picked up fairly steadily. She hosted, and greeted, brought everyone to their tables, took orders, kept an eagle's eye out on everybody, refilled drinks, provided to-go boxes, and gelato and rang everybody up. By herself. When I left at 1355, she was still bussing the tables and answering the phone. In some way, this is to commend Ruthie for long-overdue praise. Last December, our office held its Christmas party here. The place was hopping, every table full, and we had reserved the back room for 50+ ppl, including some 12 kids less than 16. Ruthie was the one tasked to take care of all of us; it's the first time I'd ever met her and I was in awe. So, Ms Ruthie, well done, as always!! We just finished a very enjoyable meal here at Fratelli's Bistro. The highlight of our meal was our waiter, Kegan. What a funny, friendly, interesting, intelligent young man. We talked about many things, and as a waiter he was attentive and efficient. The food was quite good, and the ice cream was to die for; they make it fresh here every day. There is more here than just pizza. They have a wide variety of interesting Italian dishes! We were just passing through Gallup on our way back home to ABQ, but would return again if we are in Gallup (especially if Kegan is working)! read more
