Our last visit for lunch was mediocre at best. Service was extremely slow. Then the pizza my wife ordered was over cooked and barely edible. The server said the reason for the slow service was that a large party was slowing the kitchen down. Then she asked "what can I do for you?". She could barely hide her eye roll. My friends and I came to celebrate Mother's Day and even made a reservation. The immediate climate was that we were unwelcome in this establishment. We sat on the patio with another family and we were the only two parties outside. This party was a walk-in and were served beverages and acknowledged while we who made a reservation were made to wait and no one would make eye contact with us. Finally, a server showed up, no introduction just asking "what do you want to drink". The immediate tone from her voice and body language conveyed that she did not want to serve us. She brought drinks and then asked for our order but, we continued to feel uneasy and unwelcome in the restaurant. We paid for our drinks and left. Treatment speaks volumes and to say we were treated less than kind ins an understatement. We will never patronize this establishment again. read more

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Me and my lady had a reservation for 6:00 didn't get seated until 7 didn't receive our drink that wasn't correct until 7:40. They even ran out of lobster bisque and told us we HAD to eat the other option or we would still be charged due to them having a "special Valentine's menu" Finally got our appetizer around 7:50 which was cold. We have driven by multiple times before, but decided to stop by for an early anniversary dinner (so glad we did). We went around 3 so it was an odd time and not very busy yet. The staff was knowledgeable on the menu, friendly, and had wonderful recommendations. The owner stopped by after our meal and made sure that everything was perfect. All of the food was hot and absolutely delicious! We started with the garlic cheese bread and toasted ravioli. My husband had the Ribeye (best steak I've had in a LONG time!) and I had the lunch country fried steak with sides. For desert we had the cheesecake crème brûlée style and the banana foster. You cant go wrong with any of those choices! What little leftovers we did have were quickly demolished by our PICKY one year old when we got home. We loved how cozy the restaurant was decorated and was very intimate. We also love that they do activities different nights of the week and will definitely be back to try those! We love live music! Worst restaurant in Hernando. My husband and I took out of town family members here for lunch while they were visiting (they have never been here before obviously) and it was a huge mistake. We showed up for brunch (10:45am) and we did not get our food until 12:30pm. The service is always horrible and the food doesn't match the menus description, nor is it an Italian restaurant. MOST of the waitresses there always act like the customers are inconveniencing them. They barely refill your drinks, we asked for napkins and condiments about four times before they actually brought it to us and then we waited another 30 minutes for the check. Also the restaurant is absolutely FREEZING inside, we had to go outside to warm up several times. This was a horrible introduction to what Hernando is about.... Southern hospitality. To start we had reservations for 7 the restaurant gave our table away and had to set up a table on a platform for us leaving us as center of attention.We order then a hour goes by we finally get our appetizer(The only good food all night). The sausage and cheese plate was amazing however the mozzarella bruschetta was absolutely horrible it was soggy and had no flavor and was downed in tomato and glaze.My fiancé ordered a ribeye and it was such a poor cut of meat that it was raw and chewy at the same time every bite was mainly fat. I ordered prime rib sliders and if someone told me this came from a fast food restaurant I would not have questioned it for it to be $30 and completely inedible in crazy.We both had some drinks he had beers I had drinks from the bar, once again I only drank the for it to not be a waste of money not bc I enjoyed the drinks they honestly tasted bad as well not to mention my fiancé was on his 3rd beer before I got my first drink. I made reservations for 630 on a Friday for a booth for 2. We got seated at a table. Waitress came and took our drink orders: two waters and we asked for a drink menu. She brought us a drink menu and we didn't get our waters for 15 mins. (645)We ordered our appetizer, drinks and main courses. 40 mins went by( 725) we finally got our drinks( pomegranate martini and beer). Another 20 mins for our appetizer. We'd been there for over an hour at this point. Appetizer came out at around 745. Our main food came out around 815. I was really disappointed in our visit to Fratellos today. The food was extremely mediocre at best. Lack of fresh vegetables on the menu. Meals are definitely carb heavy. My husband had chicken fried steak and it tasted terribly. He said it tasted like pool chemicals. We actually could smell the bad smell coming from it, so he didn't eat it. We told the waitress and she told us they discounted his meal because of it. She said we're surprised to see they only took $3 off a $13 meal. He paid $10 for two sides he didn't eat all of because the meat made him feel sick. There were four of us and we still paid $70 for lunch. 3 of us had water. We have tried it two times and I would rate both of them a one. First time we were ignored by wait staff until we had been seated over 20 minutes. Ordered spaghetti and meatball , it was lukewarm and the cheese in the shaker was moldy. Husband's food was also pretty bad. French fries were-cold steak was tough. They asked if we were done and when we said it was not good waitress asked if we wanted it boxed up to take home. Second time with friends who knew the owner. The owner sat at the bar and did not help wait staff at all. Staff was over whelmed and food took a long time to come out. Quality again was lacking. Complete embarrassment. Took a colleague there for a business dinner and should have walked out immediately. The first table we walked past had been newly set but the tablecloth had old food on it. First clue. We sat down and immediately had to discard multiple utensils as they were filthy, as well as two of three random appetizer plates (for a party of 5) that were on the table when we were seated. The food was edible but not enjoyable. The service was lacking but not awful. She mentioned more than once that they were short staffed, and we had to ask for basic things like...plates for apps. We ordered a bottle of wine and she brought it to the table already open and glasses poured. The sausage and cheese plate was strange. The sausages looked like breakfast sausage patties, and were quite pink inside. We all had difficulty eating, much less enjoying, our meals due to the unclean state of practically everything. Hate to leave a bad review for a locally owned restaurant, but times are hard for everyone so I believe in being honest. This review is strictly for the Sunday morning brunch, I can't speak for the made to order food. We decided to give this place a try for brunch. We arrived about 11AM and I really regret that I didn't personally check out the buffet B4 placing my order. That's 100% my fault. After ordering the buffet we found It tucked into a dark corner, it had been heavily picked over and you couldn't even see what you were putting on your plate as there were no lights. (Maybe it was shut down for day IDK??) Anyway, to summarize we spent $50+ for a predominately cold meal, made worse by the fact that the outside dining area was infested with flies... I mean I couldn't even eat for them being all over my plate! I finally decided to just let them have it since they seemed to be enjoying it more than me. That's saying something as I'm NOT a picky eater. Who knows maybe we just picked a bad day to try this place out.
