Sirloin Strips w Angel Hair!
Patricia E.

Super unassuming location. Definitely more geared towards a bar crowd. But loved the service and the amenable way everyone on the staff visited with us. Early evening weekday meal. Husband ordered the hamburger steak and I opted for the sirloin strips with sauteed onions and peppers, which I was told was one of the more often ordered items. Mine came with a side of angel hair, and husband's came with a side of mac & cheese, also made out of angel hair. Portions were ample and reasonable - $16.99 ea. I can't say I was a fan of the angel hair mac & cheese, but if you're looking for regular food quick, this is the place. We will return, and will try something different.

For the area... AWESOME!! This is a locally known gem that eeryone goes to around here, but unless you been around, won't know. Dine in, take out.. they got you. I ate in, and had a half chicken fried spicy .. With fries and salad. THE FOOD: This chicken is awesome! .Crispy, crunchy outside, tender moist inside. The spice is great. Fries are crisp, too.

Like all of you, I've been laying low the last few months and I've certainly missed sitting down and eating in a real-life restaurant. My feeble attempts at home cooking were enough to sustain me, but there comes a point when you just have to see other people and taste something that's cooked by someone who actually knows what they're doing. On one of my first restaurant adventures, I decided that I needed good fried chicken. Like, good homemade fried chicken. Anyone who knows me knows of my love of fried chicken and Frazier's Connection in Marrero is rumored to have some of the best. I knew I was going to be making a mini-celebration of my visit here, so I got a little generous with my ordering. I got ¼ chicken (breast and wing) with macaroni and cheese and, what the heck, let's throw in an order of red beans and rice for good measure. I'd be remiss if I didn't try two of the dishes that Frazier's is known for. All chicken is fried to order, so there's a bit of a wait, but I was in no rush. Out came two large pieces of chicken, mac and cheese and my full serving of red beans and rice. Right about now you might be thinking, "She can't eat all that." Look, please don't challenge me. I'm hungry. The chicken was crispy and delicious, fried to perfection with steam wafting out as soon as I tore into it. The meat was juicy and the flavor was perfect! I got the "spicy" version and I found it to be impeccable and not over-spiced in any way. The seasoning enhanced the natural flavor and taste of the chicken, which is always what you want. I never enjoy something when I taste more spice than actual food. The mac and cheese was made with "long" noodles, almost Rocky & Carlos style. The noodles were coated in delicious cheese and each bite had that ooey-gooey cheese pull that you really want in homemade mac and cheese. As someone who can only make box mac and cheese, I will never not be in awe of people who can make it so rich and creamy. The red beans and rice was unparalleled. WOW! Perfectly spiced, just like the chicken, with pieces of pork and sausage. The portion was more than generous for $6 and, if I was here any other day, this would have been more than enough for lunch. Next time you're in the mood for some good food, think local. All these people want to do is provide a good meal for the people in the neighborhood. They want to feed your soul and I'm happy to oblige. *Portions of this review was originally written, by me, for Offbeat Magazine. Simple but hopefully it is good

The food is bland and it is for an older crowd. A better example is a Piccadilly or Luby's

This place is so damn good. Its a hidden gem in the westbank! We've ordered from here at least 3-4 times in the last month or so. A huge fan of their fried chicken and cheese burger. Their fried chicken is cook to order and with the spice seasoning, it definitely has a kick to it. I always order it w/ mac and cheese. IT IS A MUST. The mac and cheese is so creamy! Their burgers are juicy and huge. The bbq beef sandwich is delish also. The boyfriend had ordered the open face roast beef once and mention it was a bit bland. Only complaint we've had so far. When calling in the order, the employees are always nice. Great soul food selection.

I struggled with putting a 5-star review on a pretty basic menu (no offense), but dang it,…read moreeverything we've eaten in our last 3 visits (in 2 months) has been 5-star fresh, tasty and plentiful. Give credit where credit is due. And the servers have really stepped it up. Very nice! Have not had to deal with huge crowds on any of our three visits, just a steady stream of in and out guests and to go orders. Drinks are always brought promptly, and only once has one gone dry. (They are $3.79 ea, so drink up!) One visit involved Pesto Bites and a Savory Cannoli w/a pasta salad side. The Pesto Bites were to die for, and don't believe the picture on the website - the cannoli was huge and looked more like a very big calzone, but it was packed with ingredients and flavor. The pasta salad was seasoned with just the right amount of Italian dressing. Another visit involved Mozzarella Sticks, Pesto Bites, wings and a Combo pizza. It also involved a large to go box. :) The wings were very good - not bready or slimy, which I often encounter when wings aren't the sole business of the establishment. Loved the crust on the pizza. The 3rd visit involved 3 people and Pizza Bites, Seafood Bites, Savory Cannoli w/pasta salad, Spaghetti & Meatballs w/2 extra meatballs and a 14" Hawaiian Pizza. There were some to go boxes and to go drinks with this meal too. I was pleasantly surprised with the Hawaiian pizza, not something I would ordinarily try, the Pizza Bites were amazing, and I don't eat shrimp but am told the Seafood Bites were very good. I wish I had taken pictures, but each time we were sitting down starving; that's never good for the photo business. :) Try it, you'll like it.

So, I was looking at my previous review to see what I wrote compared to now. I can definitely say…read morethat they have improved well with their pasta dishes now as they were seasoned nicely. All of the portions remained plentiful which we ordered a few things and shared amongst 6 people. Hummus was great and refreshing as hummus should be. The boudin egg rolls were also great as it was made with cheese inside as well. As for me, the pizzas were ok. It didn't really stand out or wowed me, but they were good nonetheless. The best part of the food was that they all came out very hot and fresh. I think this is what we always ask for when we go to restaurants. Aside from the food, the service remains great as our waitress did wonderful on checking up on us and refilling drinks as needed. Seating remains the same as I remembered it from last time with a New Orleans vibe in the benches. Overall experience was great and would definitely return to this restaurant if i'm craving Italian!
