The employees of this store DESPERATELY need customer service training. So many of them range from rude to just downright hostile. Coupled with the frequent pricing mix ups (that they won't fix WHILE you're checking out-they make you go wait in line at customer service) makes for an abysmal shopping experience. At this point, going to QFC and paying higher prices will pretty much wash out since I get overcharged on at least one product every time I shop at FM, and the employees at QFC at least can act like they don't hate you while shopping in their store. read more

The twin lakes Fred Meyer is currently remodeling their store and aisles. You cannot find anything in this store except for the in the produce, bakery (barely), meat, and dairy aisle. The store is in pure disarray. They have people wearing yelling shirts to help find things. But the thing is they don't even know where stuff is when you ask them. I was led down a aisle by one of the yellow shirt wearing staff and she took me down the wrong aisle. She looked at me and said "I don't even know where anything is myself". Wow! It took me about 2 1/2 hours to by 10 items. I will have to go to another grocery store until they can get this issues resolved. The store manager should have planned better for the remodel, because currently all the shoppers are walking around aimlessly and bumping into each other. read more

Ugh. I don't like this store. The layout is nice and everything but the service is terrible. Three times I have been here and I unfortunately needed help from staff each time. For whatever reasons the staff kept forgetting I needed help when I asked them questions . Last time another customer pulled away a clerk and he was supposed to be helping me and he never came back after ten minutes or so. That was the last straw. Updating and adding another star to my review for Fred Meyer's new Click List service and the amazing customer service I got from Liberty, who works in that department. First, Click List is amazing. Especially so if you have children and find taking them to the grocery store to be a chore. All you do is make your grocery list online, pick the date/time you want to pick it up, and then show up. There are designated parking spots. You call when you get there and give them you're name and spot number. A few minutes later, someone comes out to your car. You pay right there and then they load up everything for you. You never get out of your car! It's awesome! What if they are out of something? No worries! They will substitute it and have you approve the change before they charge you Second, Liberty deserves to be recognized as a customer service all star! A few hours after coming home with my order, I realized that one item was missing and I was accidentally charged twice for another. I called the store and Liberty helped me out. She actually CAME TO MY HOUSE! She brought the item I was missing and a gift card for the refund (they are not allowed to carry cash). How great is that?!?! It was definitely not expected and was above and beyond the call of duty. So, while Fred Meyer is still 3 stars overall, the Click List program and their team is top notch. read more

I shop at this location probably 2 times a week because it's close to my home. Today I get to self checkout and 2 customers are arguing about a parking space! One guy is yelling, dropping F bombs threatening to beat up the other and the other guy just keeps yelling the same thing it was his spot. I tell the associate standing right there to call security, he just ignores me and carries on walks away! Meanwhile they are in eachothers face and I yell, call security please!! One guy walks away saying yeah call security. I reported it to the manager who was very helpful. This could have ended very badly! I would hope associates would be trained to know how to handle this and get help!! read more

NEVER EVER ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEIR BAKERY! I ordered simple, Mickey Mouse themed cupcakes for my sons birthday and what they gave me was a joke. It seriously looked like sunny-side up eggs on red frosting with oreos. What they made was more complicated than what I asked for. And to top it off, I asked them to make me a new batch and the bakery manager said that what they gave me was the best that they could do. I'm the main shopper in my house and quite frankly, I don't have the time nor inclination to go schlepping all over town for groceries, then to the hardware store (because I also own a home and it is constantly trying to fall apart), then to Rite Aid for prescriptions, over to PetSmart for pet supplies and whatever miscellany stuff ends up on my list over the week. I was raised in the golden age of the Internet - I'm impatient and want everything right now, dangit! For the most part, Fred Meyer accomplishes this nicely, and at prices that won't leave your wallet whimpering and cringing in your purse (read: Whole Foods). The store is also of a higher caliber than Wal-Mart - employees don't run away from you, there aren't panhandlers outside and you aren't fighting the smell of McDonalds permeating the store like some kind of terrible air freshener. Groceries you can find at Safeway you can usually find here at a couple of bucks less. 98% of the employees I interact with at this store (usually checkout, electronics, produce) are all pleasant and professional. I also like the fact that FM stacks coupons on top of sales, almost unheard of in this day and age. As of 03/2015 FM also has free wifi, though it's not the greatest. But you get what you pay for, people ;D They are probably sick of me at this point, but oh well. read more

We ordered a lot of Boar's Head meat and cheese from the deli because we are planning on doing charcuterie for our wedding in a couple of days. We came to this store because the quality of the product is normally pretty good. We were not in a rush because, having worked at a deli, I understand how frustrating it can be when people come through with big orders. We checked out and I started assembly the trays we plan to make, only to find that they had left the casing on most of the meat. This is 25 lbs of meat that we need to have ready on trays Wednesday that I am now pain stakingly pulling casing off of sliced meat to try to fix this before we serve it to our guests. Horrible experience. I would not recommend shopping in their deli, especially for something important. read more

I shopped here for the first time in 3 years. I was given a gift card. I had forgotten how big Fred Meyer is. It was convenient to get a pair of shoes at the same place that I got some groceries. They also have two Redboxes at the front entrance. The cashier forgot to remove the security tag on the shoes I bought, so I had to go back the next day to get it removed. I got a new rewards card when I was there. When I went back and bought some groceries, I didn't have the card with me but they claim you can enter your phone number instead like other grocery stores. It wouldn't work at self-checkout. I pressed the button for a clerk to help; no one came. I pressed it again. Still no one. I yelled out a hey at the two cashiers and one walked over, annoyed to help me. She told me to enter my phone number, and I told her it didn't work. She said to do it again, and I did. She looked at the scanner she brought over and read off a message that the phone number wasn't found. I told her I got the rewards card the day before and thought it should work. She walked over to the other clerk and repeated what I had told her with attitude. The other clerk mumbled something. She walked back to me and said it takes 3-4 weeks for the rewards cards to be registered. I asked if she had a default card that I could use to get the discounts. The deli is always so busy and 3-4 employees working but only one helping people. The playland is always, ALWAYS, closed when I'm there. I go at different times and different days of the week but it never fails the playland is always closed. I am starting to think maybe they don't have anyone actually hired to worked there. Also I don't know why the train people at the self-check out and as soon as they are competent they move them to a register. then a new person who has no idea what they are doing is hired. With all that being said I do like Fred Meyers, and I like their prices. Just wish deli and self check out was faster and the playland would someday be opened! read more

I come here because I find that the products that aren't sold at my local Safeway, can be found here. The quality of their produce have definitely taken a step up, as well as their bakery. You can now find yummy dessert options when you don't want to plan anything out with your dinner. They've also added a gas station, which is great because it's usually the cheapest in the area, and better quality (hopefully) than Arco. read more

I love Fred Meyer, one stop shop! I never knew how much I liked it until I started going to AZ for the winter and discovered how much I missed Freddy's ! You can find everything there and if you need help to find something, there is always somebody to ask and ready to help. (unlike so many others) Maybe the one in Federal Way is not as nice a some others in the Seattle Area but it has everything I need and you don't have to go to specialty stores to find it. The toy department is good and so is the home department. Most of the times I buy my planting flowers there as the selection is good and so is the price. The electronic department is also good and sometimes the prices are better than Best Buy and Target (bought my Beats headphones there, cheaper than anybody else) Enjoy the Tullys coffee stand inside the store, but there is a Starbucks outside also, so you can pick and choose. Soon you will be able to exercise and grocery shop in one trip as they are building a fitness gym in the outside area next to Starbucks! read more

And, this is why I prefer going to Self-Checkout unless I can't, because I have a big basket of groceries or liquor. It's great that they are so close to home, but whoever is in charge of scheduling hates working holidays. Other Fred Meyers don't close as much for small holidays as this location. I literally from the age of 12 grew up going to this Fred Meyer. My sons father worked at this Fred Meyer my friends have worked here my college classmates have and still do work here and so to write this review really truly hurts. If I could give them no stars I would. I went into this Fred Meyer like I normally do! To shop! Say hi to the employees, look around and see what I can buy, etc. I get my shopping done and head to self checkout. I notice a newer employee (he may not have been new, could've just been new to self checkout) and when he sees me he walks over to my checkout stand. I'm standing there scanning my items and this man is within arms reach of me. Halfway through I tell him "hey you're too close to me) he smiles and laughs and says he's sorry and continues to stand there. I told myself I'm my head that if he walks away after I finish paying that is an indicator that he is profiling me as a "black" woman. Sure enough as SOON as my receipt started to print he walked away. I was very upset. All the time this is happening he literally looks as though he's checking me for stealing which caused people to not come to the self checkout aisle I was in. I called the manager over and I'm telling her that he was standing extremely close to me and it was uncomfortable. He sees me talking to the manager and immediately starts to walk over stating that he "wasn't watching me". The thing is that not once did I say that to the manager so that confirmed that he was indeed watching me. He then proceeds to argue with me while I'm talking to the manager. I'm telling her what happened and he's arguing with me. I showed her a visual of how close he was to me and she is just standing there looking like she doesn't know wth to do. He goes and stands behind her and starts mocking me and laughing. What he wanted was for me to blow up and be the stereotypical "black woman" but that wasn't going to happen. Too much class for that. I ended up returning every single item that I bought and haven't been back to that Fred Meyer since. I also followed up with another manager there. His name was Eric btw. read more

I'm new to this area--moved from Minneapolis. We don't have these stores, but from what I've seen it's pretty convenient. Everytime I've gone, I've picked up some good deals. Just went in today and picked up some sushi. Really good, especially considering it is grocery store sushi (usually sub par). The rainbow roll looked and was delicious. Love that I have this convenient and cheap sushi option nearby. Will be going back. read more

I have to be honest, I used to dislike shopping at Fred Meyer, and sometimes I still do because I don't understand how they organize everything. I shop mostly in the organic/natural section. This is my local store and I've gotten to know it pretty well, but I still get discombobulated when searching for items that I feel should be near each other. In any case, overall, I've been very pleased with the service. The staff are very helpful and know where to find things. If I notice an item is out of stock, they can usually tell me when it will be back. Their produce selection is amazing, and I appreciate their fairly extensive selection of organic and all natural food, especially the bulk section. read more

Purchase: Garden Plants If you're going to buy anything from Fred Meyer take a look at their plants to put in your garden. They have a great selection and they are CHEAP. I actually had to make two trips there, because the sales clerk told me they sell out fast and they were correct! It might be too late to plant seeds this year, but buy the plants from Fred Meyer. Their plants are almost as cheap as the seeds alone! I will be buying my plants from Fred Meyer going forward. read more

Roasted almonds are my main concern since THEY HAVE A REALLY NICE ORGANIC SECTION going on near the meat/deli and bakery area. The Tully's inside is kind of convenient/kind of nice to look at, even though I NEVER use it. But hey, at least they tried right? Good one up point on that Fred Meyers. Other than that, I mainly use Fred Meyers to purchase my makeup, maybe some condiments, some face wash, you know, the small things that I can just drive down the road to and not put too much effort in it. This is probably only going to be useful to people from So-Cal, but anyways: Fred Meyer is a genetically modified Ralphs, yo! Not only is it a grocery store, it sells clothing, jewelry, toys, etc. If I had more time I would've browsed more, but I only came to buy some fruit and dramamine. All the food looked pretty fresh, and everything is organized. Weekly ads are placed near the entrance, so you can see what's on sale. I've heard of fancier Fred Meyers though (one in Alaska apparently sells boats), but this one is good enough for your everyday needs. read more

Oh, Freddy's, what has happened to you? This used to be the best place to shop but has gone into a death spiral in the last few years. Please note, the employees here are great. This is a shot at Kroger for taking a great store and turning it into a rubber stamp. Once this store had 18 check stands, now it has 9. In their further corporate wisdom they got rid of the express lines. Now they have blessed their "valued" customers with self checking on both ends of the check stands. Isn't that just glorious. Oh, of course you don't get any discount for checking and bagging your own stuff. It gets better. Now they show their further love for their "valued" customers by charging you 50 cents to get cash back from your debit card transaction...feeling the love?? The produce department is never kept full of inventory, there are holes all over. I need to stop now, but I think you get the picture. They must be using Safeway as a business model, in other words, drive your customers away at any cost. read more

Beware of criminals at 21 ave store in federal Way -including employees! My small purse disappeared between check out & loading groceries. I later got purse from customer service who took exceptionally long time to find (which I thought was strange). most looked in tact but about 11pm that evening I was alerted of two transactions from shein.com.
