This Fred Meyer has never let me down. Whether it's food, hygiene supplies, or a redbox movie, it's got pretty much everything. The customer service is phenomenal from my experience. They do a great of training their employees I can tell. My favorite department is the electronic department, the manager and employees there are friendly and will help you with any questions you have. My main store. We make about 80% of our family's purchases here including food, clothing, and more! It is very nicely laid out and easy to find things. Their sales are good. Food prices are some of the least expensive in town - if you shop the ad and buy things when on sale. I use my pantry and freezer to stock up. Clothing sales and clearance are great! Furniture is mostly of good quality. Now and then I get a checker who complains about his/her job or an employee who knows less where things are than I do (esp in the home dept), but overall, I get very good service. read more

The manager of the electronic department was really nice. This took place around 3 years ago but now thinking about it, I cant thank him enough. I bought a very expensive video game cd and i put it into my xbox but it broke due to some technical issues. He not only spent the time to check my cd and find out what was wrong, even though it wasn't their fault, he gave me a free replacement. I shop at Fred Meyer usually every other day or sometimes more. The store is nice and clean and the employees are great for the most part. Sometimes the prices are cheaper than other stores. Great specials in weekly ads. My ONLY complaint is the shopping carts! This store needs needs to replace most all of them. I asked someone why they didn't get new carts and he said that Fred Meyer doesn't want to spend money to get them. I was appalled to hear that comment I will however still shop at Fred Meyer. I had a terrible experience at the customer service desk on Friday evening. First of all, the line was a mile long and the two clerks working were oblivious and had absolutely zero sense of urgency. They seemed incredibly non-chalant about the task at hand and out of touch. After nearly 30 minutes waiting in line, I just needed to return a small item, which literally took about 1 minute from beginning to end. No "hello" or "how can I help you?", only silence. Anyway, I also had a basket of 4-5 items with me and I politely asked the woman who just processed my return if I could just quickly pay here, as I'd been waiting in line for so long. She proceeded to roll her eyes at me, continue to say nothing (other than audible, over-dramatic sighs) and begrudgingly bagged my items (which took all of 2 minutes max). The experience was super off-putting and offensive. Please only have employees who are genuinely capable of customer service/don't obviously hate their jobs run the customer service counter. read more

So I love this layout of the store and truly appreciate their well kept fruit and organic section. Also, you never see clothing in the food section because they keep the store very maintained. But their customer service needs to improve. My mom had a cashier give her a rude remark about her reusable bags not being ready for her to start bagging her groceries, THEN did not take off the cents off at the end for her reusable bags. Just ridiculous. Just bag the groceries! I recently had an incident where yes the pharmacy was closed and I understand that but when I saw a women in there I just wanted to see if they could still help me. Instead the women behind the counter gave me a very rude attitude by telling me "We're closed." Then I just explained to her I needed just one thing (allergy medicine) and her and her co worker decided to then say rude comments about me to one another and the same women looked back up at me with the same attitude and said again "We ARE closed". I did report this to the manager and he said he would pass on the message to their manager that evening. He also explained that he understood where I was coming from and that he was upset with the service I was given. He also apologized for the fact that he could not give me my allergy pills cause he is not authorized to go back there once they are closed which is also understandable. Improve on your service. Because I AM a loyal customer and that service was ridiculous. read more

Nice produce and meat sections. The isles are labeled horribly so that you can't tell what is in any given isle until after you've walked completely down it. Beyond that they recently purged their magazine/book section and removed anything that corporate decided wasn't on new list of approved reading topics for general citizens. Not my favorite Fred Meyer location. Service is rude. When I asked for half a pound of Mac and cheese, the man behind the counter gave me considerable attitude when he gave me a pound instead and I asked him to please take some out because it wasn't what I ordered. Then, going on the line, the cashier spent a very long while talking to another customer about menopause and shedding weight after having a baby. She took even longer to chat when I told her my child was in the play land area and that the hour was up and I needed to pick him up. She was. 35 year old blonde lady with her hair up in a ponytail. I know how old she is because it was a part of her conversation with the other customer. When I picked up my son from play land, the woman behind the counter wouldn't get up from where she was sitting watching tv! I guess she didn't see me but I truly loathe this particular Fred Meyer. I'm going to go back to the one on the other side of town and try to avoid this one from now on. read more

I like Freddy's..the 1 stop shopping center! I can spend hours in this store looking at housewares, accessories and then spend time deciding which groceries are healthy to buy, what sale on clothing apparel I can take advantage etc etc. There's usually a Starbucks Coffee attached, so I can mosey my tail on over and get a Cup-a-Joe to carry around with me. They have a deli for sandwiches, panini's, and other standard deli foods if that's what you like. Everything looks nice and fresh and the staff are very friendly..at least they have been when I've gone through. I can buy some wild fish from their meat department. I don't do the beef or pork there anymore since I do the grass fed and you can't buy that at Fred Meyer. If you have a King Super, City Market or Kroger card, they are all one in the same part of the Kroger camp. Just know that for when you travel around the country and run into a store that sells Kroger product. You will know you can use your Freddy's card at the stores I've listed. Parking is always easy at a Fred Meyer store and it's become easier to navigate around the store. read more

Terrible customer service. Hope you don't need any help with anything while the employees are having a conversation with eachother or you will get glared at and rudely dismissed! Not to mention misleading pricing, the merchandisers should make sure the pricing is under the actual product. Too many bad customer service experiences, will not be shopping here anymore. read more

My boyfriend put in an order online for my birthday cake a few days ago. Went to go pick it up, and guess what?? No cake!!! They don't even have a way to receive the orders in the store! Why even bother to have an online order form if you're going to not even look at the orders? I'm extremely disappointed, I was so much looking forward to my birthday cake, and now I don't get one. read more

Went into the Fred Meyer store on Pac Hwy S. near Des Moines, WA. Store was clean and I found what I was looking for. HOWEVER, one can tell there is a lot of theft. I like this location as I come here often so I feel I know where everything is and it's rarely switched up. It's definitely a one-stop shop although they are a bit pricier than other places. But it beats having to make multiple stops. I like come to the active wear section as they have a lot of name brand workout gear on sale often. They have a decent organic/all natural section as well that I like to check out when I'm here. read more

A big grocery store that is like a Walmart. It is too pricey and I find a lot of items are over priced compared to Safeway or Walmart. I like the self-checkout feature. It has a large wine selection so when I do a recipe that requires wine I usually go here because I can find a wine to pair with a sauce or marinade. I often get lost though which angers me about the store. If you don't pick up milk and you get way down by the spices it is a long walk back and forth across the store. The pharmacy is good and I pick up all of our medicines here and have not had any problems except for ID requirements to get Tylenol 3, but I guess it might be a protocol for all pharmacies. It is just a very expensive Walmart. It is close to me so I walk here at times and that is why it gets an extra star because this end of town lacks a lot of businesses and driving to Super Walmart, Target, Kohls, or even a Bed Bath and Beyond is stressful and walking saves the environment and waist line. read more

I'm giving this place a 3 star because typically I love everything about this location and usually always feel welcomed at this store. Today, though, was some of the worst service on many different levels. I came in to get a few extra groceries and propane for the new grill. After I checked I stood by the door for 10 minutes then looked at the cashier to let her know I was waiting for the propane. She apologized and I said no big deal I would bring my car up front while I waited. After I parked I looked at my receipt and realized they rang me up for an exchange and not a new tank. No big deal though. I let the side cashier know who told me I needed to go customer service. At this point I was kind of worried about my groceries but proceeded to get this fixed so I could leave. When I got to the rep I explained the situation and with assistance she made the update all the while complaining about home department being out which is why myself and one other customer had been waiting so long for help. After the adjustment was made on the price I mentioned that I knew they were busy but wondering how long it would be to get help as I had cold foods in my car. She looked back at the person on the phone and mentioned the situation and the person on the phone was very snappy with her and rude. I finally was directed to a gentleman to get the propane. He shock his head with annoyance more at the customer service team but it was awkward. He looked at me and asked if I paid for it and I provided him my receipt. When he got out to the propane area he answered the phone and was talking to a person on his phone and I proceeded to say thank you two times and he said nothing to me and I walked away. Honestly I could tell that everyone at that store was having a bad day and that sucks but if that was my first time visiting I wouldn't return. read more

Jewellers. Bought ring. To get it cleaned and use warranty to get papers at federal way has been hell. Both times it's like pulling teeth for the lazy staff to work. Calling corporate. Buy jewelry elsewhere. Place is a joke. Not sure why my husband got the ring here. Warranty for lifetime comes with conditions. 1 it requires the lazy staff to get off chair 2 the lazy staff have to look u up 3 requires I have to repeat myself 8 times for Ur thick head to get it, then I'm done. She wouldn't look up info, talked down to me and got attitude to move three feet. Guess exercise isn't her thought. Worthless staff n company. Friend was here to pick up his wedding rings paid for n they weren't ready on day of wedding. Federal Way is horrible. read more

Maybe 2 weekends back Fred Meyer was having a huge sale on PS3 games. My bf and I went to a few of the local ones. We found exactly what we were looking for at the Federal Way location. Borys provided both transactions and I see now he is a manager in the electronics department. Good for him :D. The two times we've been there he has been quite helpful, even when this last time when they super busy, he still provided excellent service. He and the other fellow with the short hair and glasses in the electronics department are excellent employees. read more

I just went to Fred Meyers near my house because I had to purchase something for my son for his birthday. There was a gentlemen named Trevon helping me out at the electronics counter. I was honestly blown away by his professionalism and his knowledge of this department. It's hard to decide what's what these days when it comes to electronics kids want. I can honestly say he made my decisions on what to purchase a lot easier. So thank you Fred Meyers for hiring people that are extremely polite and people that actually care about giving top notch customer service. read more

I shop here all the time--it's convenient. THIS is strictly about the pharmacy. Do yourself a favor and go to a real pharmacy for prescriptions. The line for picking up is long and so far I've checked on my Rx three times in three hours and it's still not ready. I'm sitting in the (full) waiting area listening to everyone else complain about their Rx not being ready either. I think it's better to leave out a "service" rather than include it and do it badly.
