My goodness when they say people and businesses are not taking this pandemic and virus seriously this is one of those places. Staff is NOT wearing masks properly. Just cuz you have it on as a chin guard does not help anyone. Sorely disappointed with our meals from Freddy B's tonight. We enjoyed our meal so much Friday, we decided to go back today. When my husband arrived to order our food, it was really busy. The wait was over an hour but we didn't care because the food is so good. We enjoyed the tri-tip so much we each got 3 ways this time with double tri-tip. Needless to say, I doubt we will go back for awhile. We got less food with the 3 ways than we did with our 2 ways Friday. The food was COLD when we got it. The wait was almost 90 minutes, I expected it to at least be warm. My husband ordered mild links and got hot ones in his 3 way. Luckily he will still eat them, he just prefers mild. We asked for sauce on the side because on Friday only half my food was sauced. Not only did the young man hand my husband containers that had sauce dripping down the sides, but only filled the containers 1/2 way. So I still didn't get enough sauce for my meat. On top of that, I requested mild and medium sauce. Luckily I tasted it before putting it on my food. I got mild and LAVA. I enjoy their medium sauce and am disappointed that the sauce is wrong. They had to wait an hour for this order. They had to bring me my order which I was an hour away. The ribs were very chewy. The sauce however was bomb. It was the right amount of spicy. The gentleman who answered the phone listened to me rant about having to pay $87.00 for some chewy ribs. He didn't give me an attitude at all. The mood for bbq hit and so I finally decided to try this new spot out. I called for takeout an hour before closing and was hoping they'd have everything available, which they did. I ordered the 2 way combo of Ribs x Lemon Pepper Chicken with Collard Greens + Mac & Cheese. The Lemon Pepper Chicken was A1, for sure. Not too lemony or too seasoned. Bomb dot com from the skin to the meat. The ribs, however, was a little too tough for my liking. I don't like having to chew and chew... all day long. I love spicy anything and so I elected for their hottest bbq sauce. But when the meat is tough and chewy, your mouth is on fire. Idk, maybe it's the type of ribs they use. Everyone has their own rib preferences, from baby back to spareribs. for the sides, the Collard Greens was tasty and their Mac & Cheese was exactly how it should be.. cheesy. I wanted to finally fill that void and leave my mark. It also was a no brainier as this establishment is right around the corner from my gym. I set my sights and went on to see what this place is about. Service/Hospitality: The service was pretty standard, I was greeted while the girl at the counter was on the phone taking another order. I didn't get bent out of shape as it was that time of the day that "The Lunch Time Rush" was happening. After she got off the phone she helped me out and was very nice. The whole ordering and transaction process was pretty good overall and that alone made me feel welcome and happy about my visit. A+ Service! Food/Cleanliness: It was pretty clean in this establishment, wasn't any other customers inside so everything was pretty tidy and put together that was a bonus. Well let me talk about the food now. I went with the "4 Way" combo $19.99/$21.44 with added tax. This particular combo is comprised of 4 meat options and 2 sides with a additional cost for Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese ($1.50) which I didn't opt for this time. Here is what I thought.. 4 Way Combo - Meats Chicken: The chicken here is smoked, so as a person that loves the skin on chicken, I had to peel it off on this. The skin was tough but the meat was amazing and I feel had the skin been on point, this chicken would of been even more amazing. Ribs: There we're about 4 ribs and they were meaty and delicious, that nice smokey flavor combined with the amazing sauce they have here, it made every bite enjoyable. Tri Tip: This I don't feel like I had enough of. It was good though, they chopped it into little pieces and it was tender and of course dipped in the sauce..pretty good. Hot Link: Now this was a "Hot Link", it was hot and had flavor. It lived up to the name and honestly was my favorite of the meats. I honestly would order just a plate of this and be just as satisfied. 4 Way Combo - Sides Baked Beans: Honestly they were pretty basic and not too special. Mac Salad: This was pretty good and house made. I happen to really like Mac Salad when it's a option. It complimented everything nicely. Overall: Located off the Old Pittsburg/Antioch highway across the street from "Hazel's Drive-In" this little operation is already creating quite a buzz around town and nearby cities. I will officially say this is "The Best BBQ" joint I've visited so far in the East Bay Area. I'm very critical on "BBQ" having lived in the South and having experienced the "Best of the Best" this place I feel would have a place at the "Nugget Best of the West" rib cook-off indeed. So ever since KCs BBQ burned down we have been looking for a new favorite barbecue joint. We have found it here in Antioch! Freddy B's BBQ is a small place that you may not notice if you were just driving by, but make sure you stop in!! We ordered the 4-way between the two of us and there was a ton of food. We ordered the tri-tip, beef ribs, pork ribs and the fried chicken with the two sides being macaroni salad and potato salad, and for dessert the peach cobbler and banana pudding. Holy moly! Everything was delicious! Our favorite was the fried chicken the tri-tip and the pork ribs. The potato salad and the macaroni salad were so good! I wanted to order buckets of it!! We (my husband and 5yr old daughter) are new to the area, from out of state and we found Freddy Bs on Yelp and decided to try it..it was a little late, around 8pm. As we are not staying in Antioch we were hoping for something worth coming over the bridge for (and paying the toll). This place is a GEM. It has a modest front and interior but do not let that fool.you. The food is fantastic..the prices are very good and the food is perfect. Service was very friendly, it looks to be family run and operated and they are quick to welcome you with a smile. We tried their ribs, mild links, tri tip, mac salad, mac and cheese, beans, collard greens, corn bread, and peach cobbler. It was a feast and we enjoyed the left overs the following day. The ribs have a smokey flavor and the tri tip was tender and the links were delicious! But dont overlook the sides. The mac salad is better than my own (shhh.) And the mac and cheese was incredibly flavorful and I think I even detected a hint of garlic. And the peach cobbler is highly reccomended. It tastes like the trip tip is boiled. The bbq sauce is really good tho. I had mild, not spicy at all but very flavorful. My son and I got ourselves each a lunch plate. Comes with a choice of meat and 1 side + wheat bread. The size of the lunch plate is technically a kids sized meal. Not as filling as I expected. But maybe I'm use to larger portions served in Oakland. This is probably one of the better bbq spots in Antioch. Try it out, and if you do, I recommend getting a combination plate that has more than one meat and sides because anything smaller will keep you hungry. read more

I've been here several times now. I really enjoyed the ribs. There are some problems though.. They never seem to put much sauce on the meat. The phone always seems to be disconnected/Off the hook. I wasn't crazy about the links. They basically just tasted like spicy hot dogs. I prefer a larger and grainy hot link. A Must Try!!!! I was referred by a coworker to give this place a try and I'm so happy that I did. I called my order in and food was hot and ready when I arrived. You can smell and the bbq goodness in the air when you pull up to the place. I order a 4 way because I wanted to sample everything. Portion sizes are great! My whole family was able to eat and there were still leftovers. The food it self was delicious. I got chicken, ribs, hot links, and tri tip in medium sauce with potato salad.
