Had the "Italian Eggs Benedict" it was really bad. The food had nothing about it to reference it to Italy. Muffins soaked in butter with a little Italian season, ham was just your average luncheon meat; not very creative or tasty. The young lady that waited on my table greeted me with a smile and was very curious. Hubby chose the fish tacos which he devoured, and I chose the taquitos, stuffed with delicious chicken and topped with cheese and a generous scoop of guacamole! I, along with my family dined at this place on a Saturday evening around 7 pm. There were plenty of free streetside parking nearby. We got ourselves a table without much delay. We got ourselves a small guac (chips and salsa are complementary), a mix-n-match 2 tacos with grilled catfish and buffalo chicken and a shrimp Diablo for my wife. The entrees came with rice and black beans. The guac was great, as was the Shrimp Diablo. However, the tacos were quite disappointing. The buffalo chicken was too spicy and had excessive of the buffalo sauce. On the other hand, the griller catfish was too small to be found inside the taco. Great service and a lot of food for the money. We stopped here since it was near our condo and had lunch. We had a couple of margaritas and food. I had the wet burrito which was pretty good. My wife had the enchiladas and my daughter had a vegetarian burrito. We ended up ordering dinner for the rest of the family after eating. They serve chips and salsa and have an open air inside seating area. The bar looks to be lively at night and they had a lot of staff working so things went well. The only Mexican in this place is the decor because the food and recipes are so far away from being that. We came for brunch and the service was surprisingly fast, portions were ok, and drinks were the standard, nothing special. We came here for a late lunch after spending the morning at Wailea Beach. The food was average, not great and not bad. I guess fairy standard for a Mexican food establishment in a pacific island. I asked for a michelada and it was lame at best. Basically took a beer and poured some sort of "spicy" mix. Tasted super diluted. 1/5 stars on that drink. I recommend this place because Diego provided excellent service. Great conversation & traveler too. I had 3 Diva-Rita's (what else would I have). First on the rocks & the last 2 blended. They were good & the frozen ones refreshing on this humid day. I had 2 Pescado tacos & they were big & fully packed w/ fish & flavor. Now I see why they were $18. Came here on the recommendation of our best friends who came here last March 2021. The Kalua pork nacho is so big that even sharing with 4 adult it was too big. The steak salad is awesome. Fred's is great. While it's not five star dining, it's a solid five star experience. We had breakfast here shortly after getting off the plane and couldn't have been happier. We sat outside and enjoyed the ocean view as well as the variety of birds (don't feed them) that were hopping about. I love going to this place; the food and portions are always delicious. They also bring out chips, so even if you have to wait, there is still something to snack on. Every time I go, I get something different, which is always so good. I would recommend something with pork! The staff is always charming and friendly; they always talk about fun things to do around the island and I've never had a bad experience with them. It's also in a great location, right across the street from the beach, with tons of nature and animals around. There are always birds walking around the restaurant. It's pretty funny. Not authentic Mexican food but what do you expect from a Maui restaurant with an attached bar (same owner) called Moos McGillcuddys". The food was devoid of flavor. Taco Tuesday was a hit! We got the shrimp, fish, chicken and beef tacos with margaritas. Delicious and hot the spot. Our waiter John was awesome, got our food out to us quickly and made sure we were taken care of. This place was jam packed, but we didn't have to wait hardly at all for anything. While In Maui, I was really wanting some Mexican food. I already know a what you're going to say, "you're in Maui, why eat Mexican food?" Trust me, I'm on the same page and went in with low expectations. I had the carne asada burrito, and just as expected, it was not good. The ranchero sauce that they put on top had a sweet flavor to it, which threw the the taste off. On a positive note, the staff are very friendly and this restaurant offers outdoor seating which has nice views of the ocean! To my gringo friends, give this place a shot.
