What a severely disappointing experience. We will not be returning. We have been longtime fans of Freebirds, but this visit felt like a completely different restaurant -- and not in a good way. The nearly empty parking lot and quiet dining room should have been our first warning sign. Right away, they were out of taco tortillas. The chicken was completely different from what we remember: overly seasoned, unpleasant, and far from the normal grilled chicken that made Freebirds great. Everything we received was stone cold, guaranteeing the food had been sitting for far too long. The rice was hard and clumped together, with the texture and taste of something reheated over and over. We ordered a Monster Burrito but received a regular size. Instead of remaking it, the server simply opened it back up, added one small spoon of the same disappointing chicken, and then charged us for the Monster. The guacamole was brown, the green tomatillo sauce recipe had changed dramatically and was overwhelmingly pepper-heavy, and the chips were stale. Even the promotions did not ring up correctly. The entire meal for our party of five ended up in the trash because there was nothing we could enjoy. The overflowing trash cans and overall condition of the restaurant only added to the experience. It's sad to see a place that used to be a favorite stray soooo far from what made it special. Hopefully management takes a serious look at the quality, food handling, and customer experience before it's too late. But I'm afraid it may already be to that point. RIP Freebirds. read more

Used to be easy to go online and order. Now, since the ownership change, they switched to a clunky platform called THANX. They also shortchanged me on my rewards points. On the original site, I have over 100 points currently. More than 1000 over the years. You know how many I have on the new site? THREE. T H R E E ****ing points. Any particular reason you are screwing loyal customers out of our EARNED rewards? "Whaaaa. This is about corporate not about this particular location." So what? You are part of that corporation. My husband, daughter, and I stopped at Freebirds for lunch this afternoon. the empty parking lot should have been our first clue we were in for a subpar experience. Most other restaurants in this wee Saturday lunch busy. There were two people in front of us ordering food. it took more than ten minutes to order. one girl was taking orders, making orders, and cashing out. the man, whom I assumed was a manager, was staring at his phone, and a man was in the kitchen cooking meat. It took us 15 minutes to get our order complete. We ordered a half bird chicken burrito, a half bird steak bowl, and a half bird ground beef bowl and three drinks. The food wasn't hot, it was lukewarm. the black beans were undercooked, the rice had been reheated and was crunchy dry. The hamburger had been reheated and left to sit so it had a crunchy, chew texture with a coat of grease on it. The seating area was dirty and most of the chairs were still on the tables. The final nail in this coffin was the probable manager finally getting off his phone and helping with orders, yelling down the line at the order girl, telling her to stop f&$#%@* rolling the tortillas this f&$#@%* way with a line full of people including two small children. read more

The store clerk refused to honor the promotion stating his calendar said that today wasn't the 15th and that the app was wrong. This pains me a little to write because I really like Freebirds, but the line was so long and slow moving that I can't give this location a good review. The three people working in there were great and very nice and the burrito was good as always, but the line and the wait was so long and so slow that people just left in the middle of the line. I didn't time it but I am guessing it was 20 minutes or more to get to order and that was with 2 or 3 people just leaving the line in front of us. I really have the feeling that they were one person understaffed. Maybe someone called in sick? It is not going to prevent me from going to Freebirds because I really do like their burritos and their chips are also shockingly good, but if I walked into this location and saw a line, I would turn around and go somewhere else and try them a different time. read more

Whenever there's someone new, I give them a little grace. My super monster came out half the size it normally does so quite upsetting. He didn't wanna ask for help so when he asked me if the size was OK I just agreed and said that's fine. My husband went in store to grab 2 chicken bowls for us. First, the experience: the lady serving the food was rude, put the wrong rice in the bowl, then mixed it with the right one once my husband said it was wrong, then tried to scoop the other rice out (yes, after mixing it). We live 10 minutes away, when he got home with the food it was super cold (not just chill, but cold). The chicken was raw (we ordered the fajita chicken and the freebirds chicken). The rice looked disgusting and the guacamole looked like it was made with a rotten avocado. We couldn't even eat it, just threw it all in the trash. Attaching pictures for context. Food isn't great, and nothing feels good about watching the person make your food give you a tablespoon of rice like literally a tablespoon and when you ask for more they give you about half of tablespoon?!! I don't know what's going on but they are charging a whole lot more for a whole lot less. Tables were not wiped down I don't recommend. read more

Freebirds needs to do better. We saw a deal for $7 burritos in multiple platforms and was like it's Monday, let's just skip cooking and go out. We made our way here, waited in like and talked to other customers about the deal. When it was our turn, they said the deal ended yesterday, September 14th. I showed them the website and it said the 15th. They said that they have the calendar and it's the 14th. They were pretty rude about it so we decided to leave. What a waste of time. Went for lunch today and won't be going back. I'm only giving it a 2 star because the staff was pleasant and nice. We ordered quesadillas which was cold, just really cold. Came in for an order to go and tried to order a chips and queso, but was told I couldn't get the chips. I was told "The demand for chips in store was low so only online orders could get chips", even though there was a tub of chips on the back counter. Prioritizing online orders over in store customers makes no sense. Very frustrating situation. I went there with my family on 12/29 at 8PM (closes at 9:30PM). There was no fresh proteins. I asked the associate serving us about the food not being fresh or even having enough to complete a burrito. They said they are instructed not to prepare fresh food at the end of the night. My burrito and my daughter's bowl was terrible. I spoke with them and they shrugged there shoulders. This place was really disappointing. Have historically liked Freebirds, but this one is understaffed and it's suffering because of it. The line moved excruciatingly slow and there was no acknowledgment from any of the two staff members as to why. I peeked into the food station area and noticed all of the meat, rice and beans had looked as if they had been sitting out way too long (hardly anything left and what was left was burned to the bottom of the pans). We ended up leaving after 15 minutes because only one customer had made it through the line and I didn't trust the food quality. Probably won't be going back. At least to this location. read more

I used to really like this location, but the last two times I have gone there they have just been a disaster. This last time was kind of the nail in the coffin. There was a lot of people behind the counter but only one was actually making orders. I would say every single food item on the line was down to the bottom scrapings. Nothing was definitely fresh and it showed the minute you bit into it. The rice in our burrito had hard chunks, the corn was actually brown and mushy not crisp, the chicken tasted rubbery. Neither of us could actually finish our burritos because they tasted so terrible. This location used to be great but it is gone downhill real fast. Nobody wants a burrito that has been made with food that has been sitting there for God knows how long. And instead of getting fresh items, the employees will seriously just scrape the bottoms with the spoon. We are Definitely not going to return to this location again read more

I'm usually very impressed with this location - it's been a go-to for me when I need a quick burrito before getting on the road or having to be somewhere right after lunch. Unfortunately, my last two visits have had issues; specifically with the curbside service. The burritos themselves were good - nothing phenomenal, but good. Hence, 2 stars of the three I would give there. Each of my last two visits have resulted in my waiting excessively long in my car, then having to go inside and either having my order forgotten or sitting in the pickup area getting cold, despite the ticket specifically stating "Curbside". I was asked if I wanted to have new burritos made in each case, and the second time I did not. The purpose of curbside is to be quick - not hang out while the crew figures out things. I'll probably give this place one more chance and will be happy to give an updated review after two good visits. read more
