I am writing this review specifically for this service team - our installation experience was great. It was necessary to remove the wall meter boxes for some home renovations. After I called the company, support created a ticket. I was told I would hear back within 72 hours. After following up a week later, I was told a ticket wasn't generated - another was created. A few days later we got an email from Ryan Foster with a $7500 quote. This is a lot of money. When we asked for an itemized quote, the representative told us $2500 for an electrician and the rest was for Austin Energy and extra cables. I followed up saying I needed further itemization. $2500 also sounds steep for an electrician. Assuming $250-300/hr, they'd have to work for 10hrs. I was told this is a 2-3 hr job for an electrician. I reached out to our contractor asking if there was a workaround (without removing the meters), since $7500 was a bit much. Our contractor was left shocked. He's worked on multiple houses with solar and has never seen this price. The max he's seen is around $900. He was right. We called a few other electricians affiliated with the city. They all quoted closer to what the contractor has mentioned. So we have been quoted 8-10x more than other companies by Freedom Solar to do the job. Finally, after I requested further itemization, and called them out on the electrician costs, Ryan stopped responding. $4500 for the city to come out + material for cables and wires - unacceptable. read more

I will admit, my wife and I were skeptical about going Solar cause we have heard some good things and some horror stories. I looked at reviews and Freedom Solar stood out to me. Our rep, Robert Bradshaw, was awesome and from an Army vet/Service Engineer, I was impressed with his professionalism, for hearing us out, answering our questions but also to make sure we got the right product for us. From purchase to install to producing energy, have to say getting that done in 4 months is truly impressive and shows the level of Customer care, Robert and Freedom Solar have. * the install technicians were awesome, answered my questions and explained the install, wiring and function of the panels to me. * the electrician was amazing as well. Freedom solar has consistently exceeded my expectations as a customer. Both me and my neighbor had installs on our houses. They kept me updated on the build process throughout, the solar output is fantastic, and customer service is very serious about making sure you are having a good experience as a solar buyer. When i had an issue with the system tripping, the same person who sold me the solar system (Solar Bob) saw to it that a service team was deployed out to my house that night to resolve the issue, which definitely speaks to their commitment. The Sunpower solar panels have the highest efficiency of any other major brand and has a 25 year warranty. That combined with Freedom Solar's dedication to the product makes it a combo thats really hard to beat. When i did research on all the solar companies, I wanted the best panels with a team that would stand behind them. Worst company ever Freedom Solar/Sunpower I had panels installed on my house on 2022 today July 2023 I still don't have panels turned on. I've been reaching out to them and to sales person Prince Brooks for months to get information about connecting my panel and nobody answer. Nothing. Horrible customer services. I don't recommend this company.They said it will take time for to approve the system so we can start using it. They have not even submitted that request . No service, no parts, 6 weeks of remote testing. A panel failed 2 months post installation, they have no parts and blame Sunpower every time I call. No updates, no support, no accountability. This company is a total disaster. If something can go wrong with solar panel installation, these guys will make sure it will go wrong. We signed the contract in September, and they promised to install them by the end of the year. We got all approvals, and then... I have been told that they do not have the panels in the warehouse. I told them they had to do something, get the panels otherwise the deal is off. They barely made it, installed it right before the New Year. But... the crew completely screwed up the work. First, they did not measure it correctly when installed the rails on one side of the house, so they had to cut and patch. Then they ran out of pipes for electrical wires to connect them to the box. They came few days later, but... since they banded incorrectly the last pipe, they wanted to do a zig-zag connection. I told them NO. Just take it out, cut it properly and put it in such a way that there is only one turn. Well, they finally got it done right. But... After they left, I noticed they left some tools on my garage roof. I decided to check the gutters on one side of the house where it is just 1-story, and I found a bunch of staff there like gloves, metallic parts, plastic boles (the very same bottle I gave them with water to drink), etc. that can easily get stuck in the gutter which btw connects to the underground drainage system I have. Furthermore, apparently, they left a drill on my chimney!!! When they came to take the drill, I specifically asked to check the gutter on the other side of the house, so they said it was clear. But... few weeks later we had a heavy rain, and of course I got a leak!! You get a leak, you call a roofer. The roofer told me that everything is clear except that one leg that holds the panel, which is not properly sealed, and it is right there where the leak is. And apparently, they found another plastic bottle in that gutter, exactly where I asked the crew to check when they came back for the drill!!! I must mention that my roof is 1-year-old, in perfect condition, and there have been no leaks since it was replaced. I called Freedom Solar and they sent technicians to take a look. The technicians confirmed that the roofer just applied a sealer to cover the lag, and they checked everything else and did not find any other place it could leak. They took pictures and told me that we must wait and see if the leak stops, there is no other way to check it. We waited for a couple of months, had plenty of heavy rain and never had a leak again. I called back and talked to Lazaro Buelga asking to come and fix the wall which got damaged by the leak. He sent again the technicians. The very same technicians came, they remembered my case, checked it around, no leaks, so they told me they will send somebody to fix the wall because obviously the problem was with not properly sealing the leg. But... Mr. Lazaro Buelga from his office had a different opinion. He wrote to me that technicians could not figure out the reason because the sealing was put not by them but by a roofer!!! Excuse me??? Do I have from now own call Freedom Solar every time I get a leak just because they installed panels on my roof??? Besides, the roofer just put the sealer on the base of the leg, this is all what he did, and technicians could see it. I'm honestly sad to write this review but I have no other option at this point. I signed my contract in May of 2022 and my solar system still isn't operational almost a year later. I'm embarrassed I championed this company and wish I would have gone with another. For a $37,000 investment you would think the customer service would be stellar but I've literally been left in the dark so many times. Many strange issues with the install process not being the day I was told, installation still not being done despite panels on the roof, and having to make many calls to figure out my loan terms. I can think of so many other things we should have spent that money on (maybe an EV!) Bummed and regretful. read more

My experience with this company was something I hope to never encounter in the future with any company again. In June 2022, we were approached to purchase solar panels from Freedom Solar. The pitch was great: low cost, solid rebates/incentives, and most of all a fantastic APR. All of this came to us just as electricity rates were starting to really hike. I was sold, I asked when the soonest we could sign would be. We signed the next day, and were told installation would take about 90 days. All seemed solid, and the reviews were great too. Then the sale started to turn ugly. In early August, I hadn't heard anything from the salesperson or the company so I reached out to the service line. I was told my sales person had left the company but not to worry. I was in good hands with another sales person who would be reaching out. Additionally, the project was moving along nicely from their project notes. I was cautiously optimistic, maybe they were swamped and I just fell through the cracks but hey, the project didn't, so fine by me. A couple weeks went by, which soon turned into a month, all the while I called and called to check on status as we came closer and closer to the 90 day estimate. Finally, in mid-October a customer service representative told me something new: my project had stalled out waiting for a rebate and it should clear in a week. Again was told a sales representative assigned to me would be reaching out. I called a week later, as still it seemed I was not assigned to a new sales representative. At this point I was told that it has not moved forward any further and for sure a rep would call. FINALLY, in late-October the representative called me, Alex S. He apologized profusely, taking (some) ownership and promising communication would stay open with any update. He then went on to tell me that my project was denied a rebate because the rebate program had ran out of money at this point in the year (note that we signed on it July, but had fallen through the cracks for so long that we lost our spot in line, I guess), but in 2023 the funding would be renewed. He assured me that the APR rate and contract terms provided and signed to would be honored without issue. Not to worry, its just a push to 2023 and he would call if I were to move up in line for installation in case any customer pulled out. The week of Thanksgiving I was provided another update from him. He said that there was good and bad news. The good news was we got the rebate for the 2022 calendar year. The bad news was installation would have to take place within the next week and the Company just couldn't handle that turnaround. I was frustrated beyond belief. We should have been first in line for installation at this point: can't another contract get pushed one week, so we don't get pushed another month at this point? Unfortunately nom but again he assured me he will reach out in mid-December with an update; he will refresh the credit authorization and it would go off without a hitch. Mid-December I received an email that noted the credit extension terms were denied. The loan company would not provide APR in line with my previous agreed to rate. My number one concern was coming to fruition. The email said it would tell me the reason in the coming days for denial, however I figured Alex S. would tell me. I waited a few days, and per usual, never heard a word. At that point it was Christmas and I still had not heard anything. I called on December 28 and Alex S. told me that it was denied due to interest rate hikes in the macro-environment and my previous terms could not be matched unless I minimized the loan period drastically. I asked, what was a purpose in signing the agreement... in locking in the rate... why he nor anyone else had ever reached out on any of this... most of all, how this could be made right? All responses circled back to taking full ownership of the problem (but made sure to clarify he only saw Freedom as being partially to blame, with blame coming from outside forces too), while, as always, providing absolutely no solutions and no alternatives. From day 1 it was made clear to us that the contract meant nothing to this company, and they would do nothing to try to resolve this problem. I am immensely disappointed in the experience offered by this company and its sales force. The lack of ownership, customer care and communication is abysmal. If you are someone considering solar, I would heavily urge you to consider literally anyone else. To the sales person, Alex S., I would urge you to show any sense of awareness about the industry or economy you are working in. After I repeatedly explained my fears that the APR would increase and after being repeatedly assured that the terms would not be impacted, "the company would never do that, just need to wait for the rebate to come through in January and everything will be fine!" here we are 6+ months later, no solar. I don't understand the many 5 star reviews for Freedom Solar! I had a system installed about a year ago and I have yet to see my electricity bill decrease to their quoted rate of $0.00/mo. I've reported the production issue several times in the last two weeks and I am yet to receive a call or email! These guys are great at selling the benefits of going solar and brag that their customer service is top notch! I would expect if you spend 27k on a solar system, customer service would be part of the deal. They love to make promises but they can't seem to deliver. read more

I'm saving lots of money and I'm contributing to helping the environment/earth. Freedom Solar is a super company in every aspect. I had a little problem with the the box outside that I thought was the caused by Solar Freedom staff. Called Solar Freedom and they sent Levi Flardon out. My customer experience with Levi was outstanding. He was such a nice young adult; knowledgeable, smart, courteous, easy to talk to, and behaved professionally. He fixed the probem caused by the electric company w/in the hour and did an excellent job of it. I've had so many bad experiences with contractors/installers in the past and everyone should look to this company as the model of the great experience everyone should have. The communication, walking me through the process, the benefits and the follow-up after was A+. They showed up with 4 trucks and it was started and finished in 6 hours. Who does that?!? Freedom Solar has been horrible. We had the salesman out in March. He looked over our bills with Duke Energy and assured us that Freedom Solar could provide us with a system that would let us live off the grid with the exception of Extreme Heat in Summer or Bad weather in the Winter. We live in Eastern NC so a bad winter is 4 days for us. We decided on Freedom Solar because they were #2 in the US and they were locally based out of Raleigh. We went with the system that the salesman said would allow us to monitor each panel to make sure they are working to full capacity, this would allow us to make full use of our warranty and sun power. We signed to purchase with Freedom and at first things seemed great. Freedom Solar workers were eager to get our system designed, installed and working. We wanted to get a new metal roof before installing the panels. Freedom Solar was in a rush so we paid an extra $5,000 to the roofing company to be done more quickly. The guy from Freedom solar came out in April with his drone and designed the system. This is where the nightmare starts. All of the sudden no one was calling to schedule anything. I started calling to see what was wrong and Finally a few guys came out and installed the grid work and panels in early JUNE. They said that the electricians would be coming out to do all their work within a week. Fast forward to the end of July. After MANY MANY calls text and emails we had date for the electrician. Now our system has 20 panels on the roof and 2 big Tesla Batteries. This is NOT a cheap system over $114,000. The electrician was supposed to be here at our home no later than 8 am. He got here at 1 pm and left at 3. He told us that he wasn't not of the schedule for the next day and he was booked out for a week but he would come back the next Friday. A week rolls by and we wait on Friday for the Electrician. we call Freedom Solar after being on hold for over 40 minutes, I was told that there was no one there that could make an appointment for an electrician and that Freedom Solar had Closed there NC offices. Wow, the major reason we chose Freedom Solar was they have a 25 year warranty on their product and THEY Were HERE in Raleigh!!!!! No one told us they were moving we would not have purchased our system from them. I finally got a customer service rep named Victoria. She set up an appointment for an electrician to come out the first week in August. This electrician did not call, NO one called us for the office to say he wasn't coming. This was the second time we took of work to be at home for NOONE to show up or call!!!!! I call customer service again the apologize, I remind them that this project is more than a days work so that they may schedule accordingly. The next appointment the electrician (Zack) did call and let me know he had a migraine and he would have to reschedule and that electrician did not show for his appointment. Four (4) times and appointment has been made, Four times we take of work and Four times no one shows, calls, emails or text. Now we are being told that Freedom Solar is pulling out of NC quick. Here we are with panels on our roof, holes in our new roof the panels are not attached to anything and to Tesla boxes are hanging on the end of our house empty and when I tell Freedom that I have no confidence in this company to ever get us connected let alone service us for 25 years. Freedom Solar's answer to that is that we own the system and have to pay for it. .Fast forward to September the electrical work has still not really even been started. Now I am told that Victoria has moved to Texas and I am being switched to Kaylee. Kaylee assures me I am in good hands and she is so very sorry that we have been treated so poorly till now but she is here to make it all better. October 1, 2024 Zack and Johnny come out and get most of the electrical work completed. I am back to calling texting Freedom Solar to get someone to come out and please finish the electrical work. Finally the week in November the send out Johnny to complete the install. We ask him how we check our panels to see what they are producing and he tells us that the package the have won't let us see each individual panel. I am LIVID I go in the house call Freedom Solar the people who answer the phone were nice and sympathetic but them I get Kaylee. She informs me we didn't pick that system. I asked her why we would even know about and be looking forward to monitoring each panel if we didn't pick that system. Yes we signed off on a system that we had discussed in length and thought was the system we wanted .WE definitely wanted the app to be able to see each panels performance. Kaylee's response to me was did we record the sales person say that we were getting that system because she needs proof. WE DID NOT THINK WE NEEDED TO RECORD THE CONVERSATION WE THOUGHT THE WERE HONEST. We are well aware they are not honest now. We have never been told so many lies in our lives. read more

I have recently purchased a new home. The home came equipped with solar. A couple months after we purchased the home the inverter was showing a fault. I was researching companies that service my SMA unit. I found Freedom Solar Power and contacted them via their website. After I contacted them I realized the company is based in Texas. This was a problem as I love in California. I received a call from Stefan at Freedom Solar and explained how I contacted them before finding out they were in Texas. Stefan continued to troubleshoot over the phone. After spending 25 minutes with him on the phone, we solved the problem. I really appreciate Stefan's willingness to help me out over the phone. Unfortunately I do not know anyone in the Texas area but based on the call I received I can say that Freedom Solar's customer service is great! read more

I heard about Freedom Solar from a friend of mine, and they did a good job for him, so I took a chance, a chance that I truly regret. I got a yard mount system and the salesman said I could get crush granite under the Solar Panel array. It took them 4 months to get started on my project, and I had to call once a week to get any information about it. I am recovering from a broken back and 2 bad knees, so I was not out there as much ask I wanted to. They finally came out and trenched for the wires just before Memorial weekend, leaving the trench opened over the holiday weekend. I called about it and was told that It had to be inspected. Monday morning there was some one out to fill in the trenches. I ask about the inspection, and he knew nothing about it. Lie number 1. I asked my salesman about the inspection and he said that it as not needed. While trenching, they tore up an electrical line that was run from the back corner of the house to the flag pole I have in the front yard. I came out and saw that they had missed my att dsl line, I went back in and lost my internet. I walked back out and found that one of the workers cut it. Why, I have no ideal. I had to call ATT to come fix it. Another problem that was uncalled for. Next, they brought a bob cat with an auger to set the frame work in the ground. They put the excess dirt where I asked them to put it. They installed the frame pipes in the ground and cleaned the cement that was mixed in the wheel barrows out on the rest of my yard. They also put holes and mounds of dirt in the portion of the yard 20' to 30' in front of the array by twice the length of the array going to the back corner of the house where the electrical comes in the house. During the trenching, for some reason the crew hit my out door AC unit and turned it about 30 degrees, kinking one of the coolant lines which finally cause a leak and shutting down the outside unit last Tuesday, Dec 6. The Solar Company, contracted ABC to fix the problems they caused, so ABC was suppose to be out on the 5th, but were a no show, I gave them to the 7th which was another no show. With the warmer and humid weather, I took it on myself to call my AC guy to fix it. He came out and fixed it. I emailed Christian at Freedom to let them know I would be sending them the bill. He returned the email saying that he was unaware that my AC unit had been damaged, I sent him an email back about all the things that his company had damaged. He returned with he was thinking about another client they had named Jack, which I returned say he is a liar unless that customer Jack was dealing with ABC also. Coincident, I don;t thing so. I sat down once again and sent him a list of every thing they tore up, Including my gate post being knocked loose, using a herbicide under the solar array, electrical run to my front yard, and an area that ABC totally is not fixing. I contracted with Freedom Solar in August of 2022. They said they would have the system installed by the end of the year. All permits were approved by early October, but they didn't have any solar panels to begin installation. The panels were installed just before Christmas, but just the panels, nothing else. It's now January 2023 and I'm still waiting for them to complete the installation. They actually thought the installation WAS complete and told me they were waiting for the electrical service provider to inspect the system. I estimate the system will be operating about 6 or 7 months after I signed with them. Also, communications with Freedom Solar is very poor. read more

I purchased a solar panel system from Freedom Solar 1 year ago. After 1 year I have had a slight reduction overall in my power bill. The install team did an outstanding job getting the panels on my roof. Using a regular electric company my 2019 average bill was $231.82 from March 2020 to March 2021 my new average bill was $111.39 however that comes with a big disclaimer. that $111.39 is from a separate electric company for power not produced by the solar panels. (mostly overnight) To calculate the actual cost I have to add in the $184.77 per month that I pay the finance company for the solar panels. so my actual cost = $111.29 + $184.77 = $296.16. after 20 years I won't have the finance company portion. this is still lower than my final bill from my previous electric company =$302.97. My first bill from that same electric company was $30.30 the first month we moved here 3 years ago. EVERY month thereafter the bill would climb anywhere from $20 to $50 more than the prior month. Even though we added NO new appliances. I recently purchased a device to modify the voltage I purchase from the Grid which currently is every Kwh I use. ( I don't have a battery backup system) so ALL energy for the home comes from the grid. In exchange for the power from the solar panels going to the grid I receive the same kwh free from the grid. (this was not clearly understood by me when I purchased-I thought the panels sent power to my home. NOT TRUE- everything goes to the grid). Prior to adding the new devices my system produced about 80% of my power. Since connecting these devices the electricity generated by the solar panels has jumped from around 80% to many sunny days a cool 200%. It looks like the electric company may end up paying ME for electricity this summer. another point.- Since I don't have a battery backup system - when the power went down here in Texas I lost all power. The cells send electricity to the grid and none to the house. When the grid shut off for 2 days at my home we suffered in the freezing cold just like everyone else. I didn't understand this when I purchased the system,(my fault) but I already have an appointment scheduled with a company to purchase a battery backup package for around $1,500 that would allow me to use the electricity even if the grid were to go down again. That purchase may allow me to move almost completely off the grid for good. read more

UPDATE: The social media posts got Freedom Solar's attention. I was assigned a personal contact within customer service and we now have our referral money. Kudos to Kaylie for assisting thru what is an incredibly broken process and software issues they were experiencing. The managemnt at Freedon Solar should be held accountable for not fixing their process. A client should NEVER have to be involved to the depth that my neighbor was and then subsequently myself. And then management hides while thrwoing a customer service person to the wolves. Original post: Beware making a referral and actually expecting to get paid. Payment must wait for referral's install be be completed. Ok fair enough. But the referral $$ are not automatic; said installed buyer had to call and press for my referral to be processed. I was told the referral $$ were in progress. I have to use their Advocator app to transfer the money to my checking account. Not thrilled about giving a possibly unsecured, hackable site my checking acct info, but ok, I opened a new account specifically for one-time transactions. My login at Advocator says I have earned the $$, but they don't show in my wallet, so I can't transfer them yet. Ok. I'll wait a couple of days. Then I get a notification from the app saying a status on the referral has changed. I'm thinking "YAY, I can finally get the $$". Nope, my account now doesn't even reflect that I have earned the referral. It's back to zero dollars! Oh, and there is no phone number to call. I had to fill out an online form and wait. TL;DR- Threatened to break and enter on my property, threatened to file a lien on my property when all sent invoices were paid, forged signature, compromised customers data and privacy, failed delivery 5 times, deceptive advertising about cost savings, misrepresenting staff titles and credentials, refused reasonable accommodations for a communication disability, there is NO SUPPORT once they have your money. When you complete your solar project with Freedom Solar you will be mailed a photocopy of a hand written note from their CEO Bret. It states to contact him personally with any issues because he wants to assure that you are fully satisfied and happy with your new Solar System. Watch out! This one is a big lie! Do not even bother wasting your time reaching out to Bret. He cannot and will not be bothered to respond. Instead of working with customers to resolve disputes in good faith, he will enlist Cokinos Law to send you threatening letters. I guess in an attempt to use a business to weaponize the legal system against consumers. Super gross. Originally, I reported my experience with Freedom Solar to the FTC, SEIA, and BBB. About one month after giving formal statements to FTC, SEIA, and BBB in regards to Freedom Solars violations of Consumer Rights and deceptive/misleading information, I started to receive invoices that made no sense to me from Freedom Solar. They had the incorrect address, different amounts than I had paid before, and were listed as being for the "Start of Project"... and no new start of project was authorized at my home. I sought clarity from the Freedom Solar billing department and received no answers. I did not pay them, because I had no idea what they were for and I genuinely thought it was another one of their incompetent mistakes. I also have records of previous invoices that have all been paid, and I received a project completion statement from Freedom Solar showing that all balances were "Paid in Full". About 8 weeks later I received a letter from Phyllis Hat Cokinos Law in Austin threatening to put a lien on my home and to break and enter to remove my system! I was shocked. After unfortunately working with Freedom Solar I knew they were prone to mistakes and a very unethical business, but I never imagined they would make an attempt to weaponize the legal system and make unlawful threats against a consumer in an act of retaliation. To make things even "better" the threatening letter that Cokinos law was full of errors, including- the incorrect date the project was completed and the incorrect address! Like you are threatening a lien and you can't even get the address, correct? It's literally embarrassing. Do they just go around trying to put fraudulent liens on the wrong addresses? So scary what people in power do to random citizens... They forged my husband's signature on a document. The signature they have does not match his actual or digital signature. The document is not in his account where all signed documents are saved, request for signature is not in his e-mail, and in the contract that I have, which is finalized, is signed by myself and the person at Freedom Solar only. My husband's signature is not on the finalized contract; the business does not sign the contract before the customer. However, the contract they gave to Cokinos Law has a "signature" stating my husband's name. Watch you Credit Scores! On multiple occasions an employee from Freedom Solar sent me someone else's personal information, including financial details! I was shocked and very upset that my personal information and financial details had been sent to another customer also. They claimed that this was not the case. I have honestly thought about contacting that person to let them know that Freedom Solar compromised their information so they can take legal action if they need to. I haven't because I am not the type of person to do anything nefarious with another person's information, but part of me is concerned that they might have sent their information to someone else, etc. Anyway, I have been keeping a close eye on my credit report, cards, email, etc.... very worried about that, they obviously have a total disregard for their customers data and privacy! All I can say is, don't walk, RUN! RUN away from Freedom Solar. When you are making this tremendous financial investment in your home, you want to work with a company who is at minimum willing to abide by the law; and factually, that just isn't Freedom Solar, they are about as unethical as it comes. This is a huge investment in your home and the company you work with to provide a solar system at should make you feel informed, safe, prepared, and be willing to work with you directly through any issue that arises. You will absolutely NOT receive that if you go with Freedom Solar. You will be lied to, price gouged, and thrown to the curb- and if you voice concern to an official governing agency, you will receive threatening letters from Cokinos Law. read more

This company is ascam I have had them for almost a 1 year now. I had them build me a system that was supposed to be 110% productive it only performs 3 months out of the year. So far on avrage it has cost me 25% to 100% more on a monthly basis compared to me not having solar. The power production guarantee is only a warinty on there parts. I am writing this review, as i am going through this trauma of trying to get my panels reinstalled back. I bought the Sun power panels from Freedom solar in 2016. paid full amount. Installation went fine no issues but one year later, I got in to similar situation earlier as well when there was some product issue and no one was ready to tell me what is happening. Now yet again its been 2 months when we reached out to this company to uninstall the panels and then reinstall them as my roof is getting replaced. and while uninstalling I found them to be least in Value(they will jus knock at your door one day and expect you to be there) With both experience Quality(they uninstall the panels and i had to clean the screws etc they left behind ) Service(they will not come on the first date they give you or the time they give you, they installed the panels and did not test if they are producing even after reminding them to do so). Responsiveness(now my panels are on roof, not working and we are trying to get a date from them. Its been 3 week delay already from when they were suppose to install working panels). Lots of sorry and apologies but no action. They are selling good panels with worst services. Hope this company understands commitment and customer service. read more

Terrible organization could not figure out which region we were in. We were asked about financing options told them we did not want to do financing. Shelby set an appointment to be at our home, the night before called us to get some information to get a quote together. Again told us about financing told her yet again financing would not be an option. Then told us she wasn't sure about our region and that she would figure it out and call us before 11 the next day. Did not get a phone call until almost 1 stating that financing would not be an option unless some things took place on our property, remember this would be like the 3rd time we've told her that we did not want financing. I don't write many reviews, but because it is a bit overwhelming to choose a quality company these days, in an industry that seems controversial, I wanted to share my experience to help someone else that's feeling the same way.  It started at my work when someone mentioned they bought their house with solar on it and the utility bill was averaging around $20 for the whole month. That seemed very attractive given that I spend an average of $150.  I went on a few websites and wrote down a list of the four most commonly recommended companies in Texas, and checked how long they were in business, etc.  After meeting with all of them, it was without a doubt Freedom Solar who seemed the most honest and genuine. I liked that they used the industries top equipment brands and had been in business for nearly two decades. A company that has lasted that long surely are masters of their craft. While they weren't the cheapest option, they were definitely the best bang for the buck, in my opinion. I worked with Zach to figure out what hardware was needed, and Freedom solar did the rest. We chose freedom because they had what appeared to be a good warranty and pledged good service. They are much more expensive than the other companies. But once we paid, they stopped replying to emails. And once installed, our system had some panels that do not work - and I cannot get anyone to come out and look at it or help. When I can get someone to rely, they promise to check and never do it. This has been going on for about 1 1/2 months - so I dont think anything is going to change.
