Hands down the best shop in town!My Defender was hit and damaged down the entire driver side and you wouldn't know there was even a scratch looking at it now. Jeff was very communicative through the entire process and he dealt with everything related to the insurance company for estimates and payments. It started the way these stories always do: A luxury car that looked like trouble in heels. She had the curves, the shine, the kind of allure that makes you stop thinking and start believing. Except the first time I met her in a PNW downpour the windshield wiper flapped uselessly like a limp handshake. Replacing the wipers was contractual. Basic safety. A correction to meet the State's prim-and-proper dress code. Still met with a laissez-faire attitude. When I picked her up, her glasses were still broken. I took the fix into my own hands--parts shop on the way home, a couple of tenners, a little elbow grease, done. Next up, the key fob. The emergency key was missing, the kind of detail that only matters when it matters. I brought it up, like an old lover who still believes a wrong turn should end with a nightcap and an apology. Instead, it turned from good cop to bad cop faster than a red carpet turns into a doormat. Then Murphy made a house call. The battery went low. She wouldn't let me in, like a partner who caught me gambling with the rent money. I used my one free call to get a locksmith to bail me out. Time and money burned on something promised on the first date. Next the check engine light blinked into life like it couldn't wait to hand me a bill and a lecture. Still loyal, I went back to them instead of the brand shop off the two one seven. One tip slipped across the bar after another. Reassurance she was safe to take out on the town without having to constantly look over my shoulder. It was just a false trail that kept circling back to the same code I heard on the scanner from day one. I was being led on a wild goose chase and suspected I was the stuffing. After months of silence and no new leads I picked up the phone to reopen the case, like a jilted ex dialing a number I know I shouldn't. The witnesses had "left." The records were "tied up." I was told the specifics about the prior investigation were withheld for "legal reasons." It read like the old standards had left the building, and she'd taken her charm with her. Trusting my first instinct, I took the old girl to the brand shop, the place that spoke her native tongue. They handed me the facts. No passing the buck. No song and dance. Workmanship you could hang your hat on. I'd finally gotten the full meal deal, but I'd lost my wallet in the process. I figured I'd give Freeman one last chance to make things right. I'd played this scene before, back when deals were clean and handshakes meant something. Back then, I had a number in my head and they hit it like a sharpshooter. This time it was a slow middle school dance on a wet gym floor, and every step felt wrong. The numbers didn't add up, even the Kelly Blue Boys gave me the kind of look you save for a three-card monte table. Sure, I could take a bruising, but I hadn't signed up to get rolled. The relationship ended with a love letter that read like a case file, our entire history laid out in black and white, followed by a reply that never came. Freeman was a name I'd trusted since I was a rookie twenty years back, the door I knocked on when I wanted a fair and honest deal, the place I sent friends, family, and associates. Somewhere along the way, it seemed they traded the Freeman name for the Saul Goodman Sunday Special. In this town, some places sell you a promise the way a magician sells you a trick. You watch the shine. You miss the move. I gave them every chance to play it straight, but instead I got a different story each time, ended up with the bills, and found myself alone in the rain without an umbrella. Ragged, like a mark who realized the gig too late, I closed the file, because sometimes that's the only win you get. Take a walk. Don't look back. The rain will wash the footprints away. read more

I bought a car from Freeman and had a great experience. When my car had an issue, I brought it to Freeman. That was a mistake. The good: 1. They kept me updated on what was happening. (I had to have my car towed in, so I was not with the car.) 2. They were able to work on my car on the same day I had it towed in. The bad: 1. Even though my car was locked up and could not be driven, they only found error codes they reset. They said they thought it was just random and should not happen again. Yet less than a week later, and the same thing has happened. My car is un-drivable. I now have to pay again for a tow and additional cost for diagnostic and repair at a different shop. (This time I am bringing it into Hyundai service.) 2. A small thing, but other service places I have brought my car to gives me back my car washed. They did not wash my car even though they have a full service wash right on site. 3. Their pricing for diagnostics is expensive, but I did not take off a star for that. However, they charged me 3% for using my credit card without informing me. I signed the sheet with the price. I got home and noticed it was more. They had stapled on an additional sheet that showed 3% for credit card. I understand charging for credit card use, but this should be pointed out and the cost shown on the form I am signing BEFORE I pay. read more

Tosha is AWESOME and they repaired my Tesla Model 3 (performance) perfectly. My Tesla ran into another car when I was using the summon feature, and this repair shop clearly has lots of experience with Teslas and repairing them back to their original state. My car had damage to the front door, the passenger side door, and the rear wheel weld. This team was able to fix everything, paint it, detail it, and I get it back to me within less than 30 days. Unfortunately, the rating for Freeman has gone steeply south. This used to be a place to take your expensive baby for exquisite detail and minor repairs. Not anymore. They've gone the way most garden variety corporate shops have gone - reduced quality AND if you want minor repair work done, they're multiple months out. As was explained to me by their service guy " we've been really busy ever since we got certified." Word to the wise, being an insurance shop is nothing to brag about...and most people I know aren't going to put a minor repair on hold until August just because you're too busy. I'll miss the old Freeman. We had a bunch of great years. This was one loyal customer who will never go back there. read more

It's virtually impossible for a car dealership to earn a positive rating from customers. Unreasonable expectations perhaps or too many moving parts I suppose. But we have found Freeman Motors to be one of the best auto buying experiences we've encountered. We have multiple friends from Portland, Hillsboro and Bend who've been happily buying from Freeman for years. So that's a "plus." It's nice to look at several, slightly used, (different) late model vehicle brands in one location. In the midst of a global supply chain shortage and massive log of customer cars needing attention, Freeman was able to accommodate my schedule, and also store my car during the cold winter months while awaiting a technician and parts to arrive. Numerous other body shops were unable to schedule anything earlier than over a month later, and also refused to accept my vehicle until that time. I would advise against Freeman. What used to be a great dealership with a local/mom and pop vibe, salespeople and a service center that you could trust is now just another used car dealership. Our most recent, and final, experience with a car we had purchased from Freeman that has had a litany of mechanical issues, ended with them attempting to overcharge us $1,500. They corrected the price only after we questioned the charges and went through the bill line by line. Had we just accepted them at their word on the final bill, we would have never known. The smooth and calm demeanor of the associate acknowledging the 'error' told me all I needed to know about their business practices. After driving the car home the dashboard lit up "PSM Loss", "Fault engine control", "Auto Start/Stop disabled". This is a car we've only driven 5k miles, has only been serviced at Freeman, and was assured to us that it had a thorough inspection. Of course that's from the same person who just miscalculated our bill and attempted to overcharge us $1,500. This will be the last time we go to freeman. Unfortunate because it was always our first stop to look at cars. I will also make sure that I tell as many people as possible about this experience. Buyer beware. read more

If can give these guys a -5 stars I would. Worst service I've ever experienced. They've had my wife's X6 for almost 2 months now. They have set at least 5 or 6 dates for us to pick the car up and every time we get to the set date they change it again. I understand that time has change and things are different now but some of this is due to human error. I've been told that they've ordered the wrong parts a couple of times by one of the employees. The manager, which I believe his name is Spencer, sounds like he's young and very inexperienced. He tells us how's he's compensating for us but it's not about that. WE WANT OUR CAR THAT WE PAID FOR!!! We thought we was doing the right thing by speaking Marshal, which is Spencer's boss but it got even worst. He had more excuses than Spencer. The last thing that he told me wife was he was going to have the shop call my wife and we haven't heard anything since. I pray...I beg you...Do not take your vehicle to them. Dropped my truck off a week ago. Was told it would be done on a certain day, waited until a week later. Understanding with current weather and covid policy. But.. Dropped it off with just under a half a tank, got it back on fumes. Literally 13 miles to an empty tank. Not cleaned. Spent over $2k and second time given excuses why they couldn't finish the job with ample time. Could have had same job done at half the price at many different locations but came here because work is solid. Just wish the price matched the services. This is the third time I have used Freeman. The first was detailing two cars. The work was very good and the price was a special deal price. Next I had an older car that I hoped to sell. I needed touch up paint. Though it was not a "proper" paint job I was pleased that they were willing to do what I needed, as the shop I had used in the past was bought out by a big firm and no longer was willing to do "just a little" or a less than complete redo of a chip or dent. The most recent was front and rear bumpers and two wheels, a couple years of dings or scrapes here and there. I am delighted. The car looks brand new (well, the tiny ding on the door is still there as they only did bumpers), with great paint match, and they did a nice cleaning (not detailing) as well. read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. I have had 2 very negative experiences at this place. The first was shortly after I purchased my Volvo from their dealership. 1) I took my Volvo in to get the clear bra applied. After picking it up I will admit It never occurred to me to inspect it for damages. I left it parked in my driveway for 2 days, and noticed when I went to open the trunk that one of the tail lights was shattered. It wasn't fully broken just shattered. I looked around the trunk and the rest of the back of the car to see if somehow another car hit it but there weren't any dents or scratches of paint from whatever hit the taillight. Mind you being hit by another car was far fetched since my driveway is up hill and I had it parked at the top with no way of anyone hitting it. I called the shop, spoke to Tosha and explained the situation and asked if she could ask her staff if they knew anything or look into it. She said she'd call me back after the Thanksgiving holiday. NEVER called me back, so I called them and they never returned my voicemail. I let it go since I couldn't prove they caused the damage to my taillight. 2) The 2nd was last week when I again took my Volvo to get checked for a water leak from what I thought was the sun roof. They couldn't find the leak. So I picked up the car... For starters they left it out in the pouring rain so my car was wet when I got in. Then to add insult to injury, as I'm driving down their driveway/lot water started literally pouring in from behind the rear view mirror so I'm trying to catch it with a towel to avoid the dashboard and center console getting wet and potentially frying the computer. I was so preoccupied with this and focusing on the road that I didn't notice until I'd gotten about a mile away from the shop that my windshield was shattered. I called Freeman right away to find out what happened. Spencer asked me to turn back so he could personally look at the windshield. He of course denied knowing anything and asked if it happened after I drove away from their parking lot... this of course was not the case since my windshield was intact when I dropped off the car that morning. He said he'd review the cameras and get back to me in the morning. He NEVER did. I called at least 3 times last Thursday to talk to him and see how they were going to fix the windshield before I got a call back from him. He said the cameras didn't show the windshield being struck by anything while there and hinted at the windshield being "cracked" before I had dropped it off the day before. He washed his hands of the problem and said they weren't responsible and that I should file a claim with my insurance. I refused to go with this and demanded they fix it. I later called the Freeman motor dealership and spoke to Aaron another manager. I explained the issue and he said they'd get back to me. And guess what!? THEY NEVER DID. read more
