I've been going here for at least 12 years...been thinking hard of something critical to say....ok,…read morei won't ever have a dip nail tx done again bc it destroyed my nails after I picked it off, i think that was mostly my fault tho. consistently: they DON'T scalp my eyebrows to pencil tip sized threads. great pedi's, gentle. my fav, i understand that they do get busy and they work to accomodate all (do take appt's), but, I have seen they way Miss Mary's business is run...they all work together, there is longevity, there is commitment to excellence (i've seen them go beyond the basics many times). some salons i've gone too...I simply don't like the energy bc i feel the women are not treated well...and the patriarchal energy at some feels like a house of many chickens. Not here. People work here bc they want to be here. The quality of their work shows. Ive strayed, but always come back. and if i want it done right, i go here first.

I'm really distraught about this past visit. I've been going here on the regular for a few years…read morenow for pedicures. Always great service. Now to my birthday. I decided to treat myself to builder gel. I went in specifically asking for builder gel. I said I wanted my nails short. Just past my finger tips. I wanted builder gel. I wanted natural pink. I had a photo of what I hoped to get. Realistic. Nothing crazy at all. I started with my pedicure. No issue there. It was great. Then they come to do my hands. I've not had my nails done in years. Many years. So they put the tips on and cut them down. Then start dipping. I'm not sure if this is the process. Well it isn't. I ended up with dip nails. I didn't want to switch up and make them remove it after they'd already started so I just let them finish. That's on me because I'm very non confrontational and just do what's easiest even if it's at my expense. Well they also did no clean up or cuticle work. And I asked several times to fix crooked nails and it never was right. So I left with crooked thick nails, ragged cuticles and dip on the cuticle and surrounding skin. Now I know. Some of it is on me. I couldve made them start over. But I shouldn't have to. I showed a photo of what I wanted. Color and very short natural look. I asked for builder gel at the beginning. Dip should've never been anywhere near me. My ignorance of the process was a factor but it shouldn't have been. I came home and had to clean up my own nails. File to shape properly and fix all the crookedness. Pedicures are fine. Nails? I'll probably go somewhere else from now on.

Familiarity and convenience kept me returning, but after my most recent visit, I believe it may be time for a change. My son and I came in for pedicures and I also planned to get my usual dip manicure. In the past, they would begin my nails while I was getting my pedicure, but that did not happen this time. Because of the long wait, I decided to skip the dip and just have it removed. I was charged $10 for the dip removal and $20 for the file down/no color or anything. And during the process, the technician actually broke one of my nails. Then comes the pedicure quality, which is why I had to return today. There were visual streaks in the polish and nail polish on my nail bed. When they attempted to correct it, a technician selected a polish color without asking what shade I wanted. When I asked to see the color book so I could choose the correct one, she left the polish she selected and walked away without correcting it. I sat for about six minutes before someone else finally came over to assist me. Thankfully, another technician brought the color book and I was able to select the right shade. She corrected it without hesitation, but this was not the first time I had to return to have something corrected the next day. After being a loyal customer for several years, the last year of experiences have been met with frustration and disappointment.

I ended up with a standard pedicure which in the book indicates is $25 plus $20 for gel, $45 plus a full set That was $30 plus $20 for gel , there's $50. So that's $95. My boyfriend ended up getting a $45 to Lux nails pedicure which included a manicure.We spent $155 for the services that did not include the tip. I do think it's a bit weird to charge an extra $40 for gel polish. I know a lot of businesses are just re-opening due to the Covid pandemic and there have been a lot of people that have lost money because their businesses were closed so I don't know if this has something to do with It. When someone is spending around $200, time and attention to detail should come with that, and unfortunately, that hasn't been consistent. The lack of time taken is clearly leading to mistakes. During my most recent visit, I got a pedicure and brought my own base coat, polish, and top coat. The technician applied layer after layer of polish without allowing proper drying time, which caused it to smear. I followed the instructions and waited the recommended 10 minutes. By the time I got to my car, my first big toe had already smeared. I decided to leave it alone, went home, and sat through an entire movie. After that, when I got up, my second big toe had smeared as well. I had to return to get it fixed, which should not happen after spending that kind of money. Although a different technician corrected it and took her time, that level of care should have been there from the start. I appreciate that it was fixed, but at the same time, I paid for a completed service the first time. I understand this is a business and there's a desire to move quickly and accommodate as many customers as possible, but long term success comes from making each client feel valued. Rushing through services to get to the next person creates a poor experience and impacts quality. I also did not appreciate being pushed to upgrade to gel when I had already decided on what I wanted. I was there with my daughter as well, and while we were accommodated, the overall experience still felt rushed. At this point, I'm not sure if I'll return. If I do, it will only be for Jenny. Her customer service is a 10 out of 10. She is patient, attentive, and takes the time to walk you through options. She even recommended polishes I had never tried before. She consistently greets me warmly, checks on me throughout my visit, and makes the experience feel personal. If I were rating Jenny alone, it would easily be a 10 out of 10.
