After hearing rave reviews about this place for months, my friend and I made a booking six months out (yes, six months) for when I returned from a semester abroad. Although the decor is nice, that's about it. Yes, the manicurists do a good enough job, and yes they bring you tea and coffee and water, but it was a little too snooty for my taste. The women working behind the counter didn't seem to want to help anyone who wasn't a regular. I had to wait alone inside while my friend parked, and I felt intimidated and awkward the whole time. It's definitely not the type of place where people go out of their way to make you feel at home! And at $80+ each (for a manicure and pedicure), you can definitely do better elsewhere. If you want to splurge on a complete manicure-pedicure experience, try Julep near U Village. If you're looking for a more economical place to go regularly, Newcastle Nails in Bellevue is the best. read more

I won't be going back to Frenchy's. I am a retired salon owner, so I know a thing or two about the business! I tried to request a particular pedicure when I called to make the appointment...was told it didn't matter, I could request it when I got there. I arrived early...and still wasn't given the option of requesting the particular pedicure....told to "just tell whoever gets me"! The salon is over crowded and lacking in comfort. Why they bother with "salon etiquette" is beyond me....it was noisy and not at all relaxing!! When the woman finally came to get me for my pedicure (10 minutes past my scheduled time) I was just told to sit and plop my feet in a bucket. Yup...a bucket. She then blurted out "classic pedicure?"....so I was finally given the chance to ask for a more expensive treatment....the problem was....I was supposed to be given a special soak etc....but, here I was....already sitting with my feet in nothing special. I still wanted the extra scrubbing...so I went along with things in order to get that. She said..ok...went away, and came back with a tiny plate with a blob of scrubbing stuff on it. Naturally, she first stopped at the desk to let the girl know I was to be charged extra. So...the pedicure itself was not horrible.....she didn't however give me the hour pedicure I was paying for. I was polished and sent to the desk with still 20 minutes left of my one hour pedicure remaining. (I didn't even have polish on when I got there...so no time was used up taking off old) Sad....just sad. Don't waist your time or money...unless maybe you don't care and just want to get in and get out with your toes painted...period. Personally, I expect more....MUCH more!! read more

Screwed up our reservation, waited till we showed up to tell us, couldn't get the services we had booked, inexperienced manicurist, distracted pedicurist, too much attitude and overstaffed at the front desk, and too much attitude and understaffed in the spa. Many years ago Frenchy's had the market cornered. Now, however, Frenchy's seems a little "crank 'em in, crank 'em out." Not nearly as luxurious as some smaller spa outfits to get a manicure and pedicure. I know some who just can't stand the smell of all the nail product. Have seen some cute girlie bday parties here.....if you can afford that for a group. Check around, you'll probably find a smaller outfit you like better. read more

I am so sad that I brought my bridal party here. Not only was I mislead into thinking that all of our services would start at the same time (mind you, I booked my party months prior with their party staff) but half of the girls in my party didn't start their manicures until at least half an hour after I did. Oh, wait, did I forget to mention that we were on time but we had to wait at least half an hour before we started our nail appointments? Not the kind of thing a bride wants to deal with the day before her wedding. Other than not being able to sit together (two of our grou were way across the room for manis, plus during the pedis we couldn't sit together because of the weird dividing wall between the chairs), one of the manicurists dared to tell my bridesmaid that the color she picked "wouldn't look good on her" (at least, I think that's what she said- the girls who work here don't speak intelligible English), but my maid of honor got an infection from the pedicure and her poor foot was swollen the whole day of my wedding. I don't know how this place is so highly recommended as a place to bring your bridal party. As one other reviewer noted, this is a highly priced chop shop. read more

Worst experience ever! I went in last week to try out the salon before my wedding and boy am I happy I tried them out. Will never return. I asked my technician if I could show her a picture of what I wanted my nails to look like (pink and white ombré). She scoffed at me when I mentioned the photo, took one look at it, and said there was no way she could do that. I asked her what brides normally get and she replied, "French tip". I said that was ok, and let her do her thing. Below is the photo of my finished nails. I was in shock. I paid for the services and gave a tip...for a moment I was thinking it might have been the lighting or cloudy nail polish that would clear up, but that was not the case. I immediately went to a different nail salon and had them take off all of the gel the lady at Frenchy's put on and fix into a normal looking French manicure. So the website made me think that my nails would be painted by the Frenchy from Grease or at least a funky gal with bright pink hair. Upon arrival I realized that this place was a fru fru day spa. Let me back track for a moment, I was trying to schedule a bachelorette party and couldn't find a place that would do manicures on five girls at once- so when I found this place I was oevrjoyed that they had five appointments available and that we could bring champagn. Those were the only bonuses this place had to offer. I don't day spa often, I get my nails and feet done- when I do get them done - oh about 1-2 times a year at the indiscreet places that say "Nails and Wax" on the outside. So when I was greeted by the rude step sisters of Tammy Faye Baker and rushed through my relaxing nail appointment as were the other girls- this was not the Facts of Life slumber -esque party I had imagined it to be- AND over charged for a manicure ($18!) AND forced to pay for a manicure for a girl that didn't show up I quickly crossed this Botex farm off my list of places I will return. I was so happy with my manicure here; they have a number of wonderful nail techs (not just one as someone else mistakenly posted on here). The arm and hand massage was SO relaxing and then, the paraffin treatment left my skin so soft and supple! Top it off with a beautiful polish and I was super happy! The manager, Claudia, does a wonderful job of making sure everyone feels special and the desk staff keep things humming right along. I have never had a facial before and decided one day that today was the day. My good friend had told me about Frenchy's so it was first on my list to call. They were able to get me in that day at a time convenient for me. I was very pleased to find that they had free parking in their building. Once inside the business it was kind of awkward because the reception is over to the side against the wall. I had to look around to figure out who I was to speak to about my appointment. Within minutes I was introduced to the person who'd be giving me my facial, Cassady. What a sweetie! Very kind soul. I had the Parisian au Naturale. The 50 minute session. It was more than I expected! Very relaxing. My face looked great afterwards. I would definitely go again. I was especially touched by the fact that she does eyebrows for woman who have gone through chemo and have lost their eyebrows. My sister had to go through chemo and that was something that she really wanted. She's a survivor! Yeah. I really appreciated Cassady sharing that with me. I felt that the $90 price was decent. I saw Myaca for a shellac manicure and it turned out fantastic! The experience was wonderful from the very beginning. The ladies at the front desk checked me in and offered me a beverage. The market spice tea started is delicious. Myaca perfected her work and made sure my nails left the spa looking and feeling wonderful. I have been to just about every nail salon in seattle and Jessica at Frenchies gives the best acrylic fills, I like my nails short and to look as natural as possible, she does a great job and is very sweet and friendly. Thier prices are a little higher than most salons, but it's worth the extra money to see her! read more

The day of my manicure and pedicure, I would have given this place 4-5 stars. Efficient, great customer service, pleasant setting, good hygiene practices. Now, 2 weeks later, things are different. I never get manicures because I'm rough on my hands and the polish chips within 4-5 days. However, for my wedding, I felt I needed to get some primping. I opted for the Shellac manicure, knowing my tendency to chip (and also, for scheduling reasons, I had to get my nails done a week before the big day). The manicure looked great, and it did not chip, but it did begin to peel at the edges about 5 days in. This was only perceivable to me, and I was extra careful so that the thing lasted through the wedding. However, it was SO ANNOYING and getting worse. My hair would get caught under the polish every time I tried to wash it...gross. So a few days later I peeled all of the polish off (which was very easy- I did not need the acetone soak, and my nails suffered minimal damage). I think this whole debacle was related to the application of the polish, with some of it getting on my skin, so it wasn't adhered very well. The other service I got, a pedicure (not shellac) also looked great the day of and lasted through the wedding. But a few days later (about 10 days after I got the pedicure), this did begin to chip. Pedicures always last me a month (usually longer, because I'm too lazy to remove the polish when it starts to grow out), and so this was surprising. Honestly, I wasn't paying enough attention to the pedicure to know why this happened. I did appreciate their hygiene (using washable basins for my feet rather than those petri dish massage chairs) and so am pretty bummed the pedicure didn't turn out as I hoped. Oh, and the foot massage was wonderful. All in all, I guess I will stick with the cheap, unhygienic salons for now. read more

I have had pedicures at 5 star resorts and this pedicure was amazing. The ladies are professional, nails were shaped beautifully, the products used smell fantastic and not cheap chemical smells, disposable liners in the pedicure tubs to ease ones mind. I've been going to Frenchy's regularly for over 10 years, mostly for pedicures. The service is on the expensive side, but is always for 60 min. including foot massage -- and is worth the price. The women who work there are all friendly and nice -- you can either chat or read your magazine. Only downside is that they're frequently booked -- and I have to go somewhere else. Other places aren't as comfortable or seem as clean. And no other place has as many colors to chose from. read more

Frenchy's is the only place I've ever had a pedicure where they actually do something to make my feet, not just my toenails, look better. Larissa has been taking care of me for over 7 years and she is truly a miracle worker. Today I walked in with heels that had cracks the size of the grand canyon and walked out with heels as smooth as silk. I've never had a bad experience at Frenchy's. Very disappointed with this place. I chose a $50 pedicure and a $25 manicure. For this price, I was expecting a lot more than what I got. Nothing fancy about the pedicure. The scrubbing and foot massage are basic ones. The ladies kept talking not paying attention to what they were doing. After she applied my nail polish, i noticed she applied some on my skin around my toes nail so I asked her nicely to remove it. Right away, she started to speak to her colleague in vietnamese and barely removed it. I had to do it by myself after she left her station. I enjoyed a little bit more my manicure but still the lady wasn't focus on what she was doing. Nail polish on the skin again and no interest in removing it. They leave their station right after they are done with you and you don't see them again. This behavior is rude. read more

Went there recently for a manicure and was really grossed out by all the nail clippings scattered all over the black carpet. nail clippings all around my feet and even one on the towel under my hand. Would love to know what the three posers/ receptionists were doing behind the desk. Checking themselves in the mirror, laughing and chatting. I've tried many places for pedicures and nearly always been badly disappointed, including chipping within days, smudges, etc. Saw Mayka at Frenchy's in April before a trip to Italy. It is now just about July, and except for nail growth the pedicure is still about perfect. Mayka's work is precise, solid and pretty perfect. I highly recommend her. read more

I hope no one ever comes here again. I experienced the worst customer service of my life. My sister's soon to be mother-in-law came with us to get our nails done before my sisters wedding. And the workers made fun of the fact that my sisters mother-in-law was handicapped. They were so incredible rude about her disabilities, I have never experienced that. Not only that but the manager is the worst person. Their cancelation policy is basically to take as much money out of you as possible. We only got a few things not done that were on our reservation because we didn't have as many people with us as we anticipated because of traveling. And the manager said she was still going to be charging my sister for the things that hadn't been done. As my sister (who has already paid for the wedding) was crying in the middle of the salon trying to tell the manager she couldn't afford the like $400 bill she was going to be charging her for the things that hadn't been done. The manager did not budge and basically wanted to wring her dry of ever damn penny. We only want to pay for the services we were provided which is not unreasonable at all. The manager basically stole money from us after hours of us trying to figure it out. I hope this place finds new management because the manager shouldn't be working in customer service. read more

Ugh, my experience at Frenchy's nail spa was DISGUSTING. I work in health care and am not easily grossed out, but this place is really unhygenic. I went here for a shellac mani and pedi the day before my wedding. (It was just me, not me and 100 bridesmaids to accommodate). I had to go here because of logistics of where I was and what I had to do that day. I made the appointment 2 weeks before. The shellac mani was just OK, but overpriced. I've had better for cheaper elsewhere in the city. I was then handed off to another lady for the pedi, and this is where it gets really gross. The carpet (why is there carpet?) around all the pedi chairs was COVERED with dead skin and nail clippings. I mean it was everywhere. Ewwwww. The woman who did my pedi was, er, very large and was wearing a very low cut top so my primary view was of her cleavage. Again, not a huge deal except that it was a hot day and this woman **dripped sweat** off her boobs and onto me. Double-ewww. The pedi was sloppy, she was too busy talking to her co-workers. She didn't remove all the old bright-pink polish from the sides of my nails before applying my french-pedicure polish. I pointed this out to her and she rolled her eyes at me. The edges of my nails were ragged and uneven. This was the slowest pedicure I've ever had to endure. Appparently Cleavage Lady didn't get the message that I wanted a shellac pedi because she just did a regular pedi. At this point, I had been at the salon for almost two hours, I was on a schedule (day before wedding), and just wanted out of there. At the register, where they kept me waiting another 20 minutes, they tried to charge me for a shellac pedi, of course. This place is disgusting, overpriced, and to be avoided. read more

Frenchy's' owner did not give store credit for unused items returned with receipts and unused as she claims in recent note back to client. In addition she does not know how to communicate with a long term good client who lives in the neighborhood. My advice is she should learn how to communicate and instruct others to as well. There are so many great spa's in the area that I would definitely not advise you to go here. Many friends of mine feel the same way and others plan to write negative reviews as well. It is definitely not fair business practices to not even offer store credit for returned and unused items with all receipts. She can claim differently but I think unless she gives me store credit I will have my lawyer take her to small claims court as she deserves some form of business punishment. I will also report her to the better business bureau although people like her could care less about a business ranking or yelp reviews. Please send into yelp any negative experiences you have had here! The only reason people still go to this nail salon is clearly because of the location! I got there expecting a Parisian themed salon... Nothing about it screamed Paris! They had random stations everywhere of random products like lingerie at a nail salon?!? Then they seat me in that red leather chair for a pedicure where I wait 15 minutes for them to actually start on me. While I'm waiting I noticed how dirty and disgusting everything is the walls were dusty and yellow there were shelves half up (from falling down) there were wires everywhere and everything just looked dirty! When you pay $70 for a pedicure you are expecting amazing service right? Nope. I was rushed out after getting my pedicure. Such a waste of money, I have had way better service and a way better pedicure for a lot less. I called and made an appt on Monday for Wednesday at 4PM (online booking on their site was down). I work at one of the big tech companies in SLU so it's not easy for me to leave work early for appointments. When I got there the inside appeared nice at first and everyone was seemingly friendly. I gave the receptionist my name and they had no trace of me in their system. No appointment existed for me. Strike 1. I was visibly frustrated so the receptionist went in the back (where 3 or 4 ladies were chatting and sitting around) to ask her manager if they could take me even though they couldn't find my appointment. While I waited I noticed most of their employees were doing a lot of nothing. Some were doing their own makeup, on their cell phones, chatting with each other, or hiding in the back room. I also noticed the more I looked this place was dinghy and filled with a bunch of crap for sale that no one would want to buy. They had only two customers in the lobby. Finally they told me they could help me but it would be 30 more minutes and they would come my manicure. I sat and waited. A woman finally called to me across the room. I went and sat at her station. Do you have your color? No one told me to get my color and it wasn't obvious where to find my color as it was my first time there. She point in the other direction to a cluster of shellac nail polish on a rack. No color wheel or color chart. I had to pick my polish at random. Strike 2. She painted all my nails without stopping to see if I liked the color so even though I really didn't (very shimmery) it was too late to turn back. She asked several times if I liked it and I said no serval times. She kept going. Oh well at least it was free? She finishes and just leaves. Disappears with no instruction on what's next. I sit and wait. Another woman calls for me from the back of the room. I guess this is my pedicure lady? She asks if I have my color. Nope. Again, I'm new here. I don't know where you keep your normal polish. She plops into a reclining chair and points to another huge rack on the wall with hundreds of polish. Guess what? No color wheel! I spend several minutes riffling through the polish on the wall. I hear her huff and puff and complain to another woman that I'm taking too long. Strike 3. I walk out. Don't waste your time!!!! read more
