Really? No one else is impressed with the incredible staying power of Frenchy's polish? I've had several pedicures from here. Each was tested under severe beach/outdoor/grimy city conditions and each was victorious and chip-free for at least three weeks. I have gone to Frenchys for maybe 20 years until now. See photos of my burned brow wax. Three days later and it still hurts. They issued a refund but didn't apologize until I sent a complaint via email and even then manager could hardly utter an apology. They did not take my preventable injury seriously, demonstrated zero customer service and basically don't care about me or the $50 per month I was spending there for 20 years. Don't go!! read more

Went to this spa on a recommendation. It was ok not perfect. The chairs were comfortable. Not as calming as I'd like it to be. Person who applied nail polish didn't get the whole nail. I got both pedicure and manicure done and was poked a little too deep which made me jump. The fact they use disposable basins is a good thing to keep from bacterial infections. read more

Alicia is THE BEST waxer I've found. She never leaves anything behind. She's fast, friendly and reasonably priced. I've had pedicures there before that are average (pedis are cheaper and last longer at the place at 26th and Jackson), but I had to give them 5 stars because Alicia is so awesome. read more

I just had the worst first impression/first experience at Frenchy's Day Spa. I called and scheduled an appointment for their Cure Detox Facial. I was very clear on the phone that is what I wanted. I arrived early to fill out paperwork and the spa was so crowded both from everyone getting their nails done to people lined up at the counter. Once I finally made it to the counter, the girl who checked me in was super scattered. Asked me three times what I wanted to drink and I had to ask her to get me the paperwork. Once I got it all filled out and handed back, within minutes the chick doing my facial showed up and I was expecting to be taken somewhere tranquil to get my facial done. Nope. She took me to a room just beside the pedicure stations that were all full of women gabbing, who I could hear through the door. The lighting was harsh, and the energy was bad. I should have walked out right there. But here's where it really starts to suck. The esthetician wanted to know all about my skin. I had already answered all of those questions in the paperwork. She told me we needed to talk about my skin so she could figure out the right facial for me. I said I wanted the cure detox facial and she started sifting through all of these pieces of paper, which was odd. She finally pulls one out, sets it on the counter and tells me to get undressed and into the table. I did as she asked, the whole time listening to the ladies outside the whole time. I get into the bed and there's no way to relax. The chick comes back in and spends the next what felt like forever getting everything together for my facial. Once she finally got around to doing anything she washed her hands first. Her hands were like ice when she touched my shoulder and my face. Amd she kept moving that piece of paper around and I realized she was reading and following instructions from the paper on what to do for this facial. Definitely felt like she didn't know what she was doing. The details of the facial are mundane and went by quickly. I didn't feel detoxed or cured at all. My pores and face feel exactly as they did when I went in there. I'm very disappointed with the whole experience. And all this inexperienced quick facial where the majority of the time the esthetician was referencing her paperwork, running to the sink to get things wet and mixing products was not even close to worth to the $140 it cost me. And when I checked out and the girl asked how it was and I told her it was disappointing and my skin feels no different, she said I should have told the esthetician that as she quickly swiped my card. Yeah, for the first time in my life I didn't leave a tip, but this service and experience didn't warrant one. I am sad that this is the spa in my neighborhood and that I wasted my Christmas present money to myself on this spa treatment. I will go back to my regular spa in West Seattle, because I'd rather that commute and traffic than to ever go back to Frenchy's. read more

Frenchy's is like purgatory, only more miserable. After my most recent visit (yesterday, to use a gift certificate to get a massage), I finally promised myself that I never have to set foot in here again. Next time I get a gift certificate, I'm just burning it, or saving it as a gift for my worst enemy. I've been to Frenchy's about six or seven times in as many years, and the experience has always been uncomfortable at best, miserable at worst. From the overwhelming chemical smell that awaits you when you first enter, to the pedicure ladies who bicker and insult each other throughout your entire shoddy service, to the angry, conservative masseuse who thinks child rape, the Tea Party movement and Bill O'Reilly are appropriate choices for massage banter, you are guaranteed a horrible experience that will leave you replaying your misery over and over in your head for the next few months. Frenchy's really is an anti-spa. I have no idea how they stay in business. read more

I had the best facial of my life at Frenchy's just a few weeks ago, and as other reviewers have said, my skin is still glowing. I took my mom for her advance birthday present and she had her first massage. The price point on the package was ideal, enough to put up with not being seated together for the manicure. Our pedicures were great, too, but the facial was the real standout - relaxing, complete with the perfect amount of massage and product usage. I think I got lucky. I stopped in on a whim at 7 p.m. on a Tuesday for a pedicure. I got right in, and they were soooo nice. The woman who did my pedicure was the best I've ever had. The massage, texture and coloring was perfection. The chairs were comfy. The basic pedicure is one hour and $38. You'll pay $30 at most casual nail places. I'd much rather pay $8 more for nicer atmosphere, better products and richer massages. This is by far my favorite place for a pedicure. Can't wait to go back!! read more

we went here for a bridal mani/pedi session. Some things were great, some just weren't. I walked in the door and was immediately trapped in a pedicure chair without getting a second to greet the bride, grab something to eat, or even pick a nail color. My manicure was better. Very expensive ($50) for a mediocre pedicure. Also not relaxing at all. Your feet are in a plastic bucket, so the water gets cold fast and doesn't circulate, the chairs are old, the place where you put your feet while their getting painted skids around and there is so much merchandise in there you feel like your drowning. The other people getting their toes done are very close to you- shoulder to shoulder. I was lucky enough to sit next to two very descriptive strippers (no joke). To top it all off, I ended up having some weird reaction to the lotion they used and now my legs feel like I have been bitten by Mosquitos. In the end I left more stressed than when I got there and with nail polish all over the place. read more

Just got back from a pedicure, an expensive pedicure, that I was looking forward to. But no massage. It was a foot and leg rub. Worse than that no treatment for my heels to get them smooth. The stools they have you use to place your feet are braced against the poor womans knees so they are constantly slipping. I couldn't relax. I will pick another place next time. read more

Total Disappointment. I scheduled a fun spa day for my wife and a group of girls (10) called a week ahead and ensured that it would be ok. The manager told me that it would be fine and that they would have a block of time between 10:30-1:30 to get mani and pedi done. I thought perfect. Plenty of time for them to get what they want and totally have a girls day for my wifes birthday. O and I also called early Sat morning before the appointment to pay upfront $300. So when my wife's party got there no one told them what would be happening let alone give them any information as to what their day entitled. It was a good thing I sent my sister who was part of the party with a bottle of champagne and juice and wine glasses (i was told Frenchy's would provide glasses) because they were given nothing to drink with. Then the entire staff was rude and took each girl to get their nails done individually to at some point during their "blocked out time" their manicure time turned into pedicure time and yet their were 2 girls who did not get there nails done. It was not until I called to speak with the manager to ensure that all girls were taken care of. I mean I paid upfront for services to which I thought the girls would be taken care of and yet they were ignored and left disappointed. Sad to say but I will definitely look elsewhere for a fun group girls day. read more

This place is as good as it gets for reasonably priced shellac nails in Seattle. They have a very friendly staff, lots of goodies to keep your eyes occupied at all times, and they let you bring in your beverages and pause the service to let you drink them while getting pampered. They also do a hand/forearm massage that is GREAT. If you type at all during the week, this is a very relaxing experience. The manicure stayed for 2.5 weeks!!! Which is even better. Shellac basically makes your nails tough as nails, literally, and incredibly hard to chip. Being able to grab keys from my purse after wards is truly a delight now that I dont have to worry about wrecking the finishing product. I highly recommend! read more

This was THE place to have your nails done about 6-7 years ago and though it was always a bit more pricey than I liked the service was great. So I decided to give Frenchy's a try again after many years. I had been here several times when I worked in the area but was a bit dissappointed upon my recent return. This time I noticed that while the service provided was still good the facility and individual stations were very dirty and definately in need of a good deep cleaning. When I get my nails done I like a sanitary environment and this wasn't it. There was an abundance of dead skin and nail clipping on the floor and I was asked to walk across it without the benefit of thongs after my pedicure was over. It just wasn't what I remembered. The three stars is generous and given because of my past visits. I am hopeful that I caught them on an off day and that they can clean up their act. They ruined my Juicy Couture Flip Flops with their products. When I spoke to the manager, she said that their products would never do that and that my shoes were not their problem. I was mortified. They refused to compensate me or even appologise. They did ruin my shoes. Additionally, I got to put my feet in luke warm water for 15 minutes and have a luke warm towel on my legs at the end for 10 minutes. They call their pedicure 60 minutes of bliss, but I don't consider any of this blissfull. There is also no parking. If I could have given them a negative star, I would have. read more

They have been remodeling and it looks great! Very close to being finished. I had a facial with Cassidy and it was the best facial I have ever had. My pedicure was amazing too. They use biodegradable liners so you know it is clean. They also offer Zoya polish which is free of all the nasty chemicals and better for your nails. read more

This place is literally a JOKE. Came here as a birthday party..they have ONE nail technician who happened to be on vacation.. no one could do a flower ..design or simple line under the color.. the lady did a terrible job on my friends nails..she didn't paint the white tip all the way down the nail..so you could see a big portion of the clear nail underneath, and didn't offer to fix it. The manager said we could come back in a week when the technician returned. Their eyebrow waxer is terrible as well. the place is NOTHING like they advertised. Definitely would NOT recommend. We could hear the snobby ladies up front talking about us after we asked for a refund for the people in the group that hadn't got serviced. Absolutely HORRIBLE. I have gone to Frenchys for years and there services have always been marginal at best and always my last resort for waxing emergencies. Today I walked into Frenchys with full natural eyebrows and asked for a clean up and to not touch the shape. They left me with completely botched eyebrows where they took a half inch off each side in the center, to where they look like pencil drawings. My eyebrows took me 4 years to grow full and this idiot (Felicia) completely destroyed them. Will never return. read more

I'm not sure why this place keeps getting poor reviews - every single time I go there I'm satisfied. It's totally clean, the lady that waxed my eyebrows this morning actually took the time to ask what kind of shape I was going for and my pedicure was flawless. The only thing I can complain about was that the light was really bright in the waxing room, but that was obviously so that Terry (I totally reccomend her, btw) could see what she was doing. Do not go to this place. I was in there to buy a gift certificate, and it was chaotic. What seemed to be the owner had an annoying little dog that was bothering the customers, while she was yelling at some employee. Frency's has NEVER let me down. We love this place! I have been a regular since 1999. With the exceptions of high end resort spas around the world I have not found better customer service. I have seen all the changes over the years. The old really rude manager who acted like she was seating tables & we weren't celebrity status is gone for good now--she use to be the only demerit the place had!!!!! Now a smooth team leader is there! Whoot!! Frency's can get really loud during bridal party mani-pedi Friday & Saturday's with very entitled snooty brides & brides maids. This place is worse than any nail salons I've been to. I read reviews online and thought this place would be a great place to go for a bachelorette party. i scheduled our appointments a month in advance and everything seem to be all taken care of. i confirmed my reservations 2 week in advance and everything was still fine. two days before the reservation, i reconfirmed again and woops, they told me that they one less than the number of pedicures that i expected. all they said, was "i'm not sure what happened". no apologies, no trying to make things work out. since i didn't want to ruin it for the whole party, i decided that I'd go without the pedi. on the day of the party, 3 of the girls were in my car. I dropped them off right in front of the salon to have them go in while i tried to park in their tiny compact parking spots. When I got in, which was 5 minutes afterwards, they told me that i'm really late and that they have to downgrade me to an express nail change instead. The rest of the girls got their full manicures.While I was picking my color for nails, the lady told me to hurry up because i was "running out of time". Who says that to a customer? I just brought them 7 customers! The manicure was something I can do at home. No massage, just some buffing here and there and nail polish change. that's it. I was so disappointed. I would never go back there again. It's overprices and the services was extremely rude and unprofessional. read more

My brother in law went out of his way to schedule manicure pedicure experience for my sister and her friends as a birthday gift and prepaid only to not get a full "30" minute manicure or a "60" minute pedicure as they advertise on the website. Messing up and refusing to fit the whole group in until we made a fuss....then treating those girls as a burden and trying to charge them for a service that was not provided. Not to mention on top of that they charged EACH of us 20% gratuity that was not deserved! I could have got better service at a standard nail salon. After hearing rave reviews about this place for months, my friend and I made a booking six months out (yes, six months) for when I returned from a semester abroad. Although the decor is nice, that's about it. Yes, the manicurists do a good enough job, and yes they bring you tea and coffee and water, but it was a little too snooty for my taste. The women working behind the counter didn't seem to want to help anyone who wasn't a regular. I had to wait alone inside while my friend parked, and I felt intimidated and awkward the whole time. It's definitely not the type of place where people go out of their way to make you feel at home! And at $80+ each (for a manicure and pedicure), you can definitely do better elsewhere. If you want to splurge on a complete manicure-pedicure experience, try Julep near U Village. If you're looking for a more economical place to go regularly, Newcastle Nails in Bellevue is the best. read more
