Been to this place a few times and finally getting around to a review. I have to say there's never been any issues. Place can get busy time to time but usually able to get seated within a few minutes. Parking is no issue as there is an entire shopping center lot with ton of space to park. Our server Greg is awesome! Attention to detail and always checking on to see if anything is needed as well. This place is clean, facilitated with good service and is also great for friends, family, kids and overall a good sports bar with tons of tv's all over playing multiple sports on each screen. We came to Frends Brewhouse for a fundraising event for the HS and had a good experience. Monday is half off pizza night, which was a big plus. I was surprised to see they had Indian flavored pizzas so I definitely wanted to try one of those. I ordered the Tandoori Chicken pizza and it took a little time to come out, but it was worth the wait because the pizza was hot, fresh, and tasty. There were a lot of veggies on the pizza and some chicken, but not a lot. I would have added a lot more chicken. I also tried a fireball super juice at the bar, which was refreshing and not strong. The super juice just happened to also be on special for $6 because there was a football game on. The large pizza was normally $30, but half off for $15 on Mondays. The staff provided good customer service. The server's name was Greg (saw it on the check) and he provided good service. The bartender was great as well. The atmosphere was loud, fun, and busy as it was football night and a school event. They offer regular happy hour and drink specials throughout the month and during football games and Kings games. I ordered the pizza on Monday. They have a great deal on Mondays half off any medium or large pizza. I've ordered this many times always really good. This time, the pizza was so flat I asked for just extra cheese and extra sauce. I think I got extra cheese but very little sauce. We love a good happy hour! We walked in on a Wednesday to a nearly empty restaurant. This location is where the Pete's was and the menu is nearly the same. We lucked out and it was happy hour. Great happy hour prices and selection! The stuffed knots..... delicious!!!!! The pizza has a solid amount of toppings! The fries are delicious and crunchy! The loaded fries could use some work. Once upon a time, this used to be Pete's brewhouse, and somehow morphed into Frend's brewhouse. The lunch crew I used to go to Pete's literally all of the time. I really dislike the name Frend's because at first glance, it reads in my mind like fiend, and then the obvious misspelling of the word friend. The lunch gang decided we would finally get around to checking out this place because we were all in the area at the same time. We had to wait for what felt like eons to be seated, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. I'm definitely a fan of if you can smell the good food, then generally you know you're in for some tasty bites. The air in the restaurant was pretty still and no favorable food smells. Once we were seated, we thought water would've been brought to the table. But it wasn't. We thought we would've been asked for our drink orders, and possibly an appetizer order, and we were not. As we sat chitchatting, keeping ourselves occupied, waiting for someone, anyone, to offer us some level of table service, frustration definitely was starting to build. We are now into this waiting game and 20 minutes had passed, and a couple of people in our group pretty much called it because they were on a strict lunch hour. 25 minutes ( not including the wait time to be seated ) at the end of this game, and no service. We got up and walked out. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for saving us money on what we all imagined would be less than desirable food. None of us will be back. read more

So happy that my husband came across this spot! I love that its a mix of dive and sports bar, but without the sticky floors. There are some great food options and beer options. Decided to try out the restaurant after playing some golf. We were seated right away. The restaurant was busy not super crowded. There were some folks seated in the bar enjoying some playoff games and a few families celebrating birthdays. The atmosphere was laid back and casual. The server was nice and attentive. We started with the Mac and cheese bites and a house IPA. For an entree we shared the chicken Gorgonzola bow tie pasta that had a wonderful sauce that had bacon, chicken and was super flavorful. Served with a piece of garlic bread that was so good! We wanted to try dessert and ended with the butter toffee cake and icecream. It was served warm, the cake had a little bit of a crispy buttery crust that was very tasty. My only regret is that we didn't order two instead of sharing. read more

The location is great. It's centralized in the Natomas Park area and has a large parking lot. There are other restaurants and other businesses nearby. This originally was known as Pete's for almost two decades. Now it's known as "Frends" (no I'm not missing an 'I' there) but still with the same menu and staff. Just rebranded. The food is really good. They were known for their pizza and it still is really good. It has that beer-dough flavor with a nice and thick crust. The toppings are fresh and very delicious. The salad was crunchy and full of flavor. Their ranch was also very good. The service is okay. If you come during their peak hours, the service might be on the slower side. Our server didn't really come back to check on us and we were waiting for one dish for a while. The prices are a bit pricey. I'd say expect to walk out of here for $45+ for a meal for two. I guess that is average for a restaurant in 2025 but it's still ($$$) if you're wanting to each out. Bottom line/TLDR: great pizza! read more

We noticed upon arrival that it was pretty busy inside. We were greeted promptly and seated fairly quickly. Looking around there were family gatherings, couples on dates, and friends enjoying each other's company. I later discovered through comments this used to be a Pete's & the food was similar in terms of the menu. The garlic fries were good. We ordered a typical Burger, it was like any normal burger nothing fancy. Didn't mess it up so that was good considering the reviews. I've been coming here since it was Pete's Brewhouse, and I have to say the new ownership at Frends Brewhouse has really changed things -- unfortunately, not for the better. The menu looks similar, but the quality and taste of the food just isn't what it used to be. You can definitely tell they're using lower-quality ingredients. It's disappointing because this used to be one of my go-to spots in town for a good pizza, wings and a beer. Came in with a co-worker. It was dead in there. We went to the bar where there was only one other patron who was already served. At least five minutes go by with no acknowledgment of us even being there. Finally a girl comes up (doesn't even say hello) and asks if we want waters. We want alcohol. Hence the bar. Maybe another five minutes until the bartender finally asks us what we want. Zero urgency. Everybody working there is just sipping their drinks and on their phones. I miss Pete's Brewhouse! Their pizzas were so much better! This new ownership has taken about ten steps back when it comes to pizza. I ordered a medium combo, no olives and white sauce instead of red. I guess I had to ask for cheese because it was nowhere to be found. The fish was excessively oily and soggy, and the batter was equally greasy and soggy. It appeared as if they were using old oil for frying the fish. Their clam chowders were actually good. Love the big menu! My personal favorites are the wings and ahi tuna salad. My friends are big fans of the jambalaya. I have a come in with a big group the last few weeks and the service from Greg is excellent! The inside has nice vibes. The only reason I'm giving two stars is the people working there were nice and the restaurant looks clean and well kept. I ordered the gouda mac n cheese bites, tikka masala pizza, and jalapeno burger, sub veggie patty. The cheese in all of the dishes had a plastic-like texture and flavor that I have no explanation for. It was unappealing. The gouda mac n cheese bites were surprisingly bland considering they have several types of cheese and are fried. The sauce on the tikka masala pizza was pretty good. The paneer was good, but the other cheese on the pizza was plastic-like and almost runny. The veggie burger patty was a standard rice-based patty. They have a $2 upcharge, so I not only paid for the meat I wasn't getting, but the patty I paid $2 extra dollars for was "meh" at best. Overall, I would not recommend anyone come here, but especially not vegetarians. read more

1 Star (Would give 0 if I could) I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad from Frends Brewhouse and was very disappointed. The quality was already declining when it was Petes Brewhouse and now it definitely has declined drastically since the change in ownership and name. The lettuce was brown and wilted, the chicken was over-fried and dry, and there was barely any sauce. The dressing was watered down, and the cheese came out clumped together. Even the vegetables looked old and unappetizing, nothing about this salad was fresh. It's unfortunate because this used to be one of my go-to spots, but it seems like the standards have completely dropped.
