Michael came out to my house and walked me through the pros and cons of a heat pump HVAC. For my home, the extra money made no sense. I really do not need central AC. We then talked about a new Carrier, high-efficency furnace. That was exactly what I needed. I also opted for the Ecobee Smart, wi-fi enabled thermostat. I am extremely happy with everything. The price was right. The installation was flawless. The post-intall QA walkghrough, by Johnny, went really well. ThenI worked with the folks that checked all the boxes post-intalleation. HERS test was easy with a pass.. Today, we passed the inspection, in under 5 minute. Every person I dealt with was amiable and professiona. The office staff always very nice. Michael Calvey was a joy to talk to. Thank you to Johnny, the project manager, and the folks from HOPSTER that facilitated the post-installation test and inspectioin. From start to finish I met with Michael on February 12th. The 16th the new furnace was intalled. February 17th Johnny did the QA walkthrough. February 18th HOPSTER did their pre-test and inspection walkthrough. The HERS test was done February 23rd. March 5th the city inspection was complete. Shady Sales Tactics! Beware of phone calls from this company…read more I've received several calls from this company in the last few months. Their voicemails claim they've taken over for HVAC Gurus, who is no longer in business. They claim I had pre-paid HVAC Gurus $279 for an AC Tune-up and Trio is honoring Guru's contracts by performing services already paid for. Here's the problem....I have no such contract with HVAC Gurus. I once had them give me a bid on attic insulation, which I did not accept. That's the extent of my business with them. My first reaction was to find all correspondence between me and HVAC Gurus to make sure I didn't somehow sign up for something I didn't want. I also checked with my credit card company to make sure I didn't give them my CC#. After 30 minutes wasted on investigating, I found nothing. I called Trio Heating, Air & Plumbing. I explained I was getting these phone calls. I was told that Trio DID NOT buy Gurus or take over for them in any way. He said Gurus stopped doing business and their contact list was passed around. He said they got a hold of this list and they are calling people to offer them a free AC Tune-up, valued at $279, in hopes of getting them to sign up with them going forward. I called him out for the lies in the phone message, that I read to him, where it specifically I had pre-paid, as well as everything else I stated above. He changed his story. He said he had a list of pre-paid customers as well as a list of people who didn't pre-pay and somehow the lists got mixed up. After I got off the phone, I discovered a text message from Trio that said they had just called me and that they are offering the AC Tune-up free, valued at $279. This completely contradicts the message the same person had left moments prior. I called the phone number for HVAC Gurus. A recording came on that says Trio is now handling their customers. So Trio lied to me when they said they did not take over their business, but just got a hold of a list that was available to other HVAC companies. I sure hope this list of pre-paid customers that got carelessly passed around didn't include credit card numbers! They may do a good job, but shady sales tactics designed to deceive customers is a good way to get a bad review from someone who may have been interested in their services.
