I had to get my HVAC serviced yesterday and had an appointment made. The tech was supposed to show up between nine and 10 further text message but he showed up at 10:30. One thing I will say is that he was very friendly and used shoe booties when he would walk inside my house, which was really a nice touch. He was also very friendly unexplained what he was doing to the units. The only thing I don't like is the fact that he was late. I gave them four stars overall because they at least give you a text to show you where the tech is in route. read more

Original Review from 2/2/2026 (see updated response below): Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience due to poor communication and failure to follow through. We initially booked a ductwork mapping service that was quoted at $300. When the technician, Servando, came out, he noticed we had already replaced our furnace and, instead of performing the service we booked and which we relied on, told us the quote would jump to $1,400. No work was performed that day, despite us setting aside time and having a confirmed service. I called to complain, as the original quote was not contingent on keeping the old furnace. After escalating, Cesar the owner confirmed in writing that they would honor the original $300 mapping and said he would confirm a time shortly after. That was two weeks ago. Since then, I've followed up four times, and neither Cesar nor the technician (Vandos) has responded. No scheduling, no update, no courtesy reply -- just complete silence. They are also aware that I'm 7 months pregnant living in a house with inoperable heat which only makes this situation even more upsetting. At this point, the issue isn't just the pricing confusion, it's the lack of professionalism and follow-through. If you commit to honoring a quote and say you'll confirm timing, you need to actually do it -- or at minimum, communicate. I would not recommend based on reliability and communication alone. --------- UPDATE (posted 2/3/2026 following Made Simples response): I'm disappointed that instead of responding to my repeated messages and phone calls directly, you chose to communicate for the first time through a public review response. The last direct communication I received from your company was confirmation that you would honor the $300 duct mapping quote. After that, despite multiple follow-ups over two weeks, there was no response. If this is your standard for communication, it is neither professional nor acceptable. At no point in our written or verbal correspondence was the duct mapping described as "complimentary" or contingent upon us replacing the furnace with your company. That condition was never disclosed. The commitment to perform duct mapping for $300 was made independently, and our correspondence clearly reflects that. I would have attached the original quote here as well, but since this review was posted, the quote has been removed from the link, which raises additional questions. It is also inaccurate to suggest that the duct mapping suddenly became an issue because the furnace was installed by another contractor. The prior furnace was also installed by a different contractor, and that did not prevent you from offering or committing to duct mapping at that time. The only meaningful change was that once it became clear we would not be proceeding with a furnace replacement through your company, the willingness to honor the duct mapping commitment disappeared -- despite no prior disclosure that the two were linked. Regarding the allegation of a "targeted attempt to harm" your business: this is both unfounded and inappropriate. I have no idea what you are referring to, and making such accusations publicly -- without evidence or explanation -- is itself unprofessional and feels like an attempt to bully us and divert attention from the core issue. If there is something specific you believe occurred, I'm open to understanding it, but no such action was taken on our end. Throughout this process, we were respectful and straightforward. I even reached out ahead of posting this review to give a heads up and last chance to resolve this privately (see attached screenshot). What I would have expected was an apology for not honoring a stated commitment and for the lack of communication -- not a lengthy public response that misrepresents the facts and shifts blame. We got bids from multiple companies on how best to convert from a standard gas furnace to heat pumps. None of the others made much sense. Servando's assessment was thoughtful, taking into account our existing ducting and how to optimize air flow. He also tried to put together the most affordable solution, several times having to talk me out of what I thought was a more sophisticated solution, because it just wasn't worth the extra cost. We had them over three times to walk us through the install process, and they were happy to comply. Then once the install was complete, they still answered every call - even late night ones. When the power went out over XMas, they came the next day. When our WiFi connection stopped talking to the App, they showed up to play IT. Did I mention the rebate they found us? Between the savings from temperature control, AND the surprise rebate, Made Simple installed great units, provided awesome service, and cut our cost by 25%. I found Made Simple when my usual HVAC service couldn't respond when I needed HVAC repair on short noice. Sonny was able to come right away and give me an estimate. He suggested replacing the aged AC and gas furnace with a new heat pump. I decided it made sense under the circumstances and he had the technicians arrive the next day. They were knowledgeable and professional and completed the job neatly and efficiently In a day and a half. When I had trouble programming the smart phone controlled thermostat, they switched it out with a type of thermostat that I was more familiar with and did that right away. Later, Cesar told me about a rebate program that Silicon Valley Power had and walked me through how to fill out the application for a large rebate. Servando's team completed the update on my furnace which included adding a drip line so condensation didn't pool up in and under the furnace, replace a malfunctioning internal part and did a system check before leaving. It's moments like this where I'm so happy that there's a thing called Yelp because I had one of the best interactions with Made Simple/Servando. I run a martial arts business, so lots of people come to my school to workout and learn I click g kids and adults. It's winter and when the fans stopped working, I immediately went searching for someone that can help. I didn't have a clue who to call and Yelp has that project feature where it connects you with a number of companies. The fielding process is a chore but Servando's message stood out by being upfront on pricing which was appreciated. We got on a call and I asked if he can come in and assess the issue without me being there. It's not the safest thing but with my schedule and didn't want the kids to have a stuffy or cold school to come to so it was a necessity. He was not only able to accommodate, he was awesome about sending me pictures. Not just of the work but his truck and himself. Thoughtful, accommodating, and honest. I felt good about it. Here's the part that I really appreciated. The problem was multi part. And obviously costs are a concern and he was 100% on board with me. We had a gameplan on what we can do and provided an explanation, answered all my questions, provided options, and then gave me updates along the way. I can't say enough about Servando. Really happy with him and that's saying a lot when you're spending money on a surprise issue and you're walking away happy hah. An additional side note is that my neighbor in the plaza saw Servando at my unit and asked for him to see his HVAC issue too and not only did he help him out, he actually got the issue fixed and just hooked him up. That's pretty dang cool. He said it was a simple fix and he was happy he could help out. He didn't have to do that and I wanted to share that story. Highly recommend Made Simple! During the peak of summer, our A/C unit gave out. After another company diagnosed the issue, they ghosted us so we asked one of our neighbors for a recommendation. They highly recommended Made Simple so we reached out to them. They came out, diagnosed the issue, sent an estimate and got to work! Servando was awesome, the whole company was so good with communication, they kept their word and completely upgraded/replaced our old broken unit. Highly recommend. Last year, I asked Servando and his team to install a heat pump for our house. But there was a challenge: we had to take out a furnace from the 1940s that was practically built into the house, install a new air handler in its place (in tight cramped conditions), and then use all the existing ductwork to zone the house. It was a custom job, not without its design constraints. Nevertheless, Servando's team managed to get all of that done in less than a week, brilliantly. His team was incredibly responsive, and came back to make sure everything was set up and working before closing out the job. Even a year later, when a filter needed to be reset, he came by and provided a new one on the house, and came up with an additive solution to help extend the air handler's filter life a bit longer--a great hack when living in a dusty old house with pets! I am so grateful that Cesar answered the phone after 4 pm today when I called at least 10 companies familiar with my Bryan heater. I had service from Srvando within 15 minutes as he was on his way home and CHOSE to stop by my home. He quickly assessed the heating panel, pilot light, and wiring.
